Can anybody upload the latest Galaxy Gear APK - 1.2.131011 (Oct 14, 2013) - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Can't download from the Samsung Apps since I'm not using a Note 3 - have a N5100.
Can anybody share a link to the latest version?

Thanks! For some reason it would not let me update any other way. I had to manually search for the galaxy gear app on Samsung apps and then it said there was an update. It doesn't state what the update consists of. but thanks. If i knew how to turn it into an apk file i would do it for ya.

When I updated it erased all my side loaded apps. Or at least I think it did because they are no longer there. some people said they didn't know how to delete side loaded apps. Well there's one way. How do we check how much memory is left on the gear? So i know when to stop side loading lol

Whoa! wanted and unwanted side effects of the upgrade.
Not sure how to check for memory.
I believe if your phablet is rooted, you can search for the .apk files from the stock file manager and find the samsung gear manager APK - if not no worries!

Nothing what so ever. I see no change. Just my side loaded apps gone. And it asked me if I wanted to restore what I had before the upgrade and I said yes to restore but the side loaded weren't part of the deal. If I notice anything different I will let you know.

Darn... Was hoping for some more apps

I have the snapchat micro apk but when I side load it and try to run it all it says is "please connect to your smartphone." so they must have had problems with it or something. I can upload it if you really want it.
Oops! Spoke too soon! Yes, it installs and loads from the play store, but the picture is sideways. Unless you're willing to tilt your arm at an extremely unnatural angle, it isn't a great solution lol

The 4.4.2 update - discussion thread

The release date of Android 4.4 KitKat update for samsung galaxy s4 has come closer for the United States today.

Sprint customers with the device should make sure that they have the current version of the OS running on their Galaxy S4, or else they could be in danger of missing the update.

Some one needs to grab the name of the OTA file. Then we can determine the link to grab it.
It'll be located in this directory with whatever the exact OTA filename is:

I ALWAYS get mad when someone says that on Piratebay or other torrent sharing sites there is just pirated apps/programs in general. You can find everything on PirateBay, not just protected programs. Just for example, I ALWAYS use torrent for work, to share some projects with every people I work with.

Apks are normally little in size. You only would need 1 seeder. Chances are they are pirated apos

I have checked unknown sources. I'm trying to download a song from tubidy.mobi for example. On my S3 I had after you selected the song it gave you an option to play or save using an installer. With this phone it doesn't. It gets to a point that after you "downloaded" the a file and it asks if you want to install, it doesn't allow you to. No error msg, no warning etc. It just doesn't do anything. Have you never had this problem on your LG? I bought the phone brand new from the UK, I live in South Africa, upgraded to kit kit 4.4.2.
Not familiar with tubidy, but let me get this straight:you are trying to install music files you download? Those don't require install
Could be extra Junkware it wants you to install
---------- Post added at 11:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:03 PM ----------
If file is downloaded to your phone, just open it with any music player
You should never have to install music files... Maybe try changing the file extension to .mp3 with a file explorer if it's named something different?

So far I've had no luck in rooting the Cam2, I'm missing xPosed and Gravity Box. There are some minor hardware differences between the two cameras and the Cam2 is on JB 4.3. Failing root on the Cam2, one might be able to pull the apk from rom.
Oh yeah we would still need the newer bootloader. It's annoying that Samsung have just forgot about us.

It hasn't been rooted yet. Most of the root methods don't work on the Galaxy Camera 2. I'm going to make a request of Chainfire to see if cf-autoroot is possible, assuming I extracted the recovery.img correctly.
I've been able to pull some of the camera app files from my Cam2, not sure I've got all of them. The manifest does have some permissions that don't exist on the original camera.
Has anyone seen a download for the surround shot addon for the gs5? It's available on Samsung apps and for 4.2+ but only for the gs5:crying:

Thanks, just got it today. Its a nice camera!
It's a really good camera. I wanted to get the original Galaxy Camera about a year ago, but for a few reasons didn't. I really don't understand why they didn't include(or offer as an add-on) the surround shot, I have it on my Note3 and I've had that for almost 6 months.
So how is the new root working for you? Were you on the most current fw when you rooted?
Also, do you know of the camera is Knox?
Did you lose data after rooting?

Root is working well. I've got GravityBox(JB), XHaloWindow, and XQuickSettingsToggle loaded via Xposed. I probably won't load any others since there's no way to disable xposed if it goes into a boot loop since I don't have custom recovery.
The camera had the latest firmware(NC2, per SamMobile) and while I was asked to disable a Knox program after I rooted, it does NOT have a root switch on the download screen as my Note3 does.
All data was preserved in rooting, though backup early and often(like voting in Chicago).
Here's the link that I first posted in the other thread:
http://download.chainfire.eu/414/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-sf2wifi-sf2wifixx-ekgc200.zip
I see 4 others have also taken the plunge.

That's odd, works perfectly on my GC200.
I turned on edit notifications, pie and then advanced reboot. Next the screen went black camera vibrated for about 15 secs then eventually rebooted. Upon rebooot the android interface was brutally slow with some fc here and there but I managed to slowly navigate to exposed to uninstall.

I've got greenify, boot manager and app settings working no problem. Does exposed Disabler work through the Samsung recovery?

Not sure about notifications, but I've got pie and advanced reboot enabled.
I'm not sure about using the xposed disabler via the samsung recovery since it's not signed.
Any news on a custom recovery, I asked philz but he hadn't responded yet. BTW do you know whet to download original fw for this camera, in case something goes wrong?

How do I stop ota?

I've seen people mention in the past that you can freeze or rename a system app to prevent the ota checks. Anybody know how How on this device?

I tried several things last night to stop it. Went to bed last night and woke up with kitkat! Damnit! I know I can flash back and I know it's a minor thing but It takes at least an hour to backup and then get my phone back just the way I like it. I hate not having sd card. I will never buy another phone without one! Restoring a phone used to be so much easier.

If you're rooted and have customer recovery installed the OTA shouldn't install. It should fail and abort right after starting. Due to root and recovery. So I don't think there is anything to worry about. Unless you're completely stock out of the box. I know every time I've downloaded the update on a GS4 or RAZR maxx and tried to install it wouldn't. It just failed saying it couldn't find recovery or certain APks. And reboot back to the way I was.

Why click disable though? Just the notifications box did it for me
