Hi Guys,
I had to get a warranty replacement for my AT&T tilt.
They sent me a refurb, and I can't get it unlocked. I tried several places that I found on google and ebay, but everyone tells me that they cannot find my IMEI in AT&T's database.
I remember that there used to be (or still is) a peice of software that just calculates the unlock code based on the IMEI. They had this for Nokia phones. Doesn't anyone have something like this? Or is looking it up on a database the only way?
If the database is the only way, can anyone recommend software that will unlock it for me?

No, I didn't contact AT&T for that. I didn't think that they readily gave away the code. I tried to use a few online companies that sell codes. But they all told me that "the imei isn't in ATT's database."

You are confused about this. the PUK code is not for unblocking non native SIM cards. It is for unlocking the phone itself from being used. Not "unlocking" as in let me put any sim card in the phone.
I just contacted AT&T for the code, and they were going to give it to me, but they also said that they just don't have the code. He said usually they have the codes, but for my phone they didn't.
So back to my original question.
I looked at the software shown above, but I don't want to reflash my phone with a different ROM. I want to keep the AT&T ROM. Any suggestions?
Tell At&t to open a trouble ticket, they will e-mail htc and htc will give you the code. It happens all the time, especially for refurbs.

Bingo. It took them about a week to get back to me, but they gave it.
Just tell them you plan on taking a business trip, and require a local number there for your customers to contact you directly, and you cannot see life without your tilt.
i just recently had the same thing, so they sent a claim to Hewlett Packard which they said manufactures the phone and i just got the unlock code 2 days ago. Took 4 days, but i couldnt resist but to unlock it myself. I unlocked it and flashed the newest rom afterwards, it stays unlocked!

Hi guys, noob here, but not so noob on android OS
I was trying to unlock my verizon droid 3. And when I´d inserted a sim from another carrier, it just says "subsidy lock, call provider".
How can I make the phone ask for the unlock code?
I read somewhere that this message appears when you tried too many codes, but havent tried anything. I read that this problem was solved on other moto phones by leaving the phone idle at subsidy lock screen for 4-5hs and the phone will ask again for unlock code, but thats not the case
Anyone experienced this problem?
call verizon tell them your going our of country on a business trip and you have a european SIM already that you would like to use, but you need to unlock your phone. viola
Im already outside US. Problem is phone dont ask for unlock code.
Alltel or Verizon Wireless do not use any type of subsidy locks on their CDMA phones. Default Code:000000 or 123456 or 654321
that is what i found by looking up the subsidy lock error you described. tell me what happens when you input one of these. im still doing more research for you

the fact that their is no dialog box is weird to me. can you press the menu key? does anything pop up? i googled this but did not find anything. ima check some other sites. do you have an account with verizon?
Yes, phone was working on verizon till the day I leave my city.
The only option when I put a foreign sim card... it´s just the subsidy lock legend and if I hit the discard dialog box, phone goes to android home menu. But obviously with no gsm signal.
I can do everything, flash, root, everything. The only thin I cant do, it´s downgrade, phone was updated to last verizon 2.3.4 OTA when was connected to verizon network, and as other thread says, it´s no downgradeable atm. Im thinking that verizon could have put some newer simlock protection to latest updates...
since subsidy lock is simply by the carrier you can contact verizon and they can tell you what to do. if you dont have anyway to call the usa, you should email them.
Well... more news. Contacted verizon tech service and they teach me how to get to the unlock screen. But for the code I have to wait almost 6 more months.. lmao

sorry you have to wait. i should have said there is a certain wait period for each person [i think 10 months] before their eligible for an unlock code. butttt you can always get one online. glad your initial problem was solved though

If anyone is experiencing the same problem, the only way to get the unlock code input screen is setting to only gsm mode and then turn on/off airplane mode a couple of times and magically unlock dialog box will appear.
there is one that works. ima go find which forum i found it in and post back tonight. probably within the hour. well i cant personally garuntee it works but it had good reviews from xda memebers

Maybe share what you did to get the unlock code dialogue to open. Save others the time of having to call Verizon themselves, since you already did that
Why do you have to wait six months? Was your line on Verizon too new to get an unlock code?

Its a couple of post above, set only gsm mode, turn on off airplane mode a couple of times, and unlock dialog will appear.
I'd unlocked other phone some time ago on verizon and for the next one, I have to wait half a year

Hello I just bought a LG optmius 2X from fido and i have went out and got an unlock code ( yes i made sure i had the correct iemi number) BUT here is what happend
I went to the dialer typed in 2945#*990# brings the unlock panel so i begin typing my code the first one went quickly and the phone quickly restarted so i thought yay i did it so i threw in a rogers sim but to my suprise nothing happend.. so i tryed again with a bell sim and once again nothing happend so now i was checking the imei number and that matches with the unlock codes so i have no clue what im doing wrong as well i tryed all the other codes that i was sent with no luck as well
what am i to do?
PS When booted up it says NO SIM as well i have NEVER had a accutal fido sim card in the phone as well i have updated to android 2.3 and that effected nothing

If you're not getting replies it's because nobody that has seen this yet knows how to help (me included).
In my case it was quite simple as the companies over here are forced to give the unlock codes, all I did was put a SIM from a company other than what I had (as said on the instructions) and then bring the unlock menu and enter the code.
Don't know if using a different SIM before unlocking is necessary because of the model itself or just the company I was using, it wouldn't hurt trying that way so put another sim first and then bring the unlock panel.

The easiest way to check is using a non accepted sim card and getting network. I don't think never have used a fido sim is the issue.
I just want to be sure you're doing the steps right,
1.- Insert a non accepted sim and start the phone, when the phone has loaded you should see the message "locked network/sim" (don't know exactly what it says in english)
2.- Dial the sequence 2945#*990# or 2945#*999# and then input the unlock code, you should get a message saying the request to unlock the phone was successful (again, or something like that) and then the phone will restart
3.- Once it loads again, you should see the name of the network provider and have signal.
Now try again, and tell exactly where it's going different for you to see if someone can help you, if not there's always the option to unlock by software.

Try the code SPCK instead of whichever you're using.
would like you to know i have tryed all codes but i will give it a shot on 2.2
EDIT: tryed all codes recived none work and I HAVE been told these codes work.
ALSOi have a few other topics around the fourms asking about my problem and no one knows whats going on they all have 300+ views even! I have stumped the entire fourm!?
I have an att version that i paid off, requested an unlock code, got it and tried to unlock it but keep getting an unlock unsuccessful error. has anyone seen this or have any ideas how to get it to go through?
how did you get the code? You need to place another SIM from a different carrier in the phone and try it. If you have 5 or so failed attempts you will need a new code.
I asked att for the code. They gave it to me. I put in a Verizon Sim got the unlock code box to pop up. Typed in the code and it said unsuccessful. I'm at work so I can't sit on with att but I will tonight figured I'd try here first

Yeah be careful. Don't enter it too many times or you will need a new one. Keep us updated.

i have the same problem, i bought 2 nexus 6 on ebay. And two codes failded, i try to do a factory reset, update to Android 5.1, Connect to wifi, and nothing works, still saying unsucessful. Waht can i do.?

Sounds like you are doing it correctly, sorry to say this but I think you both need to call AT&T to straighten it out.
I understand this is a longshot.
Does anyone have a good third party tool that can unlock the bootloader for my moto z3 play? I cannot get the unlock code from Motorola because the phone is from a carrier.

so, not sure how this happened, but I went to the Motorola unlock website again. Entered the oem unlock code. Received the message that I can’t unlock my phone.
entered into development mode in chrome, and clicked around. Didn’t change anything.
clicked on the “I agree” radio button on the terms and conditions.
clicked “check device eligibility” again, Received the same error message that my phone is not eligible for the program.
Noticed that Request unlock code button had appeared. I clicked the button to get my code, and it actually worked. Not only that, the code I received unlocked the bootloader.
I wish I could replicate my steps. I wasn’t keeping track of what I clicked on because I was not sure I was going to get anywhere.

Hi I am a moto z droid user and have same issue because my phone is a verizon variant and the bootloader cannot be unlocked. Some method of brute forcing bootloader were introduced but didn't had any luck or success. I want to root my phone and I can't. There isn't even any exploit for this device and it's a shame because this device is still not completely junk and can be used as a daily driver. I was looking for exploit to root phone but didn't found anything let's hope someone else will join this thread and we could do something about it.

Nevermind. I found a tool called sigma key. It basically unlocks the bootloader idk how but I know it is possible. It is a paid software but for some devices you would have to buy the software as well as a device which is expensive. The device and software is not intended for personal use only. I have many shops near me that have those devices and they do open frp lock, change imei, and solve mobile software related problem so I will give that a try. Bye my device is supported on their website. It is XT1650.
