[Q] Slow Play Store download over wifi - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I seem to have this problem with my HTC One rinning ViperOne 2.7.0. The phones takes a LOT of time starting a download over wifi, and by a lot I mean minutes. After that (if it starts) it still downloads very slowly. Over mobile data network the problem isn't there.
I have tried other ROMs, such as ARHD or CM 10.2, same issue.
It may be a problem with my wifi network, but it goes at full speed on every other site/app I run (except Youtube and Play Store... Google services?) and I get 60ms ping and full DL speeds in speedtest.
Here is a quick video to show you the issue: clicky me ([YOUTUBE] tag didn't work)
I tried restarting the router with no luck. Is there any port I have to manually open to make it work? I didn't have this problem a month ago, it just randomly started to act like this.

[Q] Google Goggles not working

Hi,
I am running CM7 on my Incredible S. I have not been able to get Google Goggles to work when using data (only works on wifi). It analyzes the photo forever and then it says "cannot connect" and asks me to save it for later or cancel. Has anyone else experienced this? I see other threads on the matter but most have been resolved.
Thanks
i assume the bandwidth requirement is high for running google goggles.
probably the reason why it is working on wi-fi.
and this proves there could be no issue with the app itself.
are you on a 3g connection or 2g (edge/gprs)?
3G/H...rarely goes down to just "G"
Don't see why there should be a problem.
two suggestions:
1) try uninstalling & reinstalling the app from the market.
see if that helps.
2) i still feel it could be a bandwidth problem...
try downloading speedtest and check if you are getting the advertised speeds.
you should actually have a fair idea on this if you are able to stream music/videos without lag...
for anyone that may find this in the future - I upgraded my ROM to the CM 7.1 stable version that just came out and this issue is now resolved - goggles works fine on 3G (though it uses a hell of a LOT of battery)

Data download connection issues

So I have been having this issue for quite a few months, I don't remember exectly when it started but it has plagued me for a long time and I don't know the cause.
My issue is thus; I am always connected to a good data connection whether it be 4g or lte, that's not the issue. I can download, upload and such but my problem comes in the form of staying connected.
What I mean is not that lte or 4g goes away as it still says connected, it's just that it stops downloading. For example downloading N.O.V.A. 3 from the market is now impossible as it will download for roughly 1 min, maybe 1 1/2 minutes and then just stop downloading. Full bars, LTE signal good but it just won't download. I can no longer download large files as they start and then the connection just stops. Makes downloading new roms a chore and a headache.
If anyone has this problem or can shed some light it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Have you tried flashing a different radio? I'm using this one on my m7tmo http://d-h.st/Ekv
if all else fails i'd just backup, wipe everything, and do a fresh install of a new rom.

Data connection issues

Anyone have any ideas on this? I'm S-OFF and am all up to date (ran the latest RUU). (Was on stock ICS until a week or so ago, when I ran rumrunner).
On some roms, I have pretty severe data connection issues. For example, on ViperOne 3.5, 3g/4g drops out a ton, and is very unstable while tethering. I also notice issues when just using data on the phone, without tethering going. I can have full signal, then the data connection will just drop, and sometimes take several tries to reestablish. Sometimes I get a 'failed to establish wireless data connection' notification briefly until it reconnects. Sometimes it will randomly drop to 1X or the signal bars will flash to empty and back again before crapping out. It's very bizarre.
With the stock rom, I don't have it set up to tether, but I did stress test it a bit with Netflix and some data usage and didn't notice any issues. With CM11, I did tether for a while and it seemed rock solid as well. With the GE 4.4 rom, same issue with data dropping. I also did NOT notice this issue at all before unlocking/s-off.
It really seems to be a software issue, but I'm at a loss here. I really have been liking ViperOne aside from this issue, and would love advice on getting my data connection stable.
I have always had these issues too. Very annoying. I don't know if it was good before I s-offed and unlocked because that was the first thing I did when I got the phone. I cant get through a showtime or Netflix TV epside without it disconnecting at least 3 times during the 45 minute show. Matter of fact it even does it on WiFi. I don't tether so never noticed that situation. Every Rom I have used I had this problem. Just a little note I have not tried an ruu yet.

It's making me seriously consider grabbing a Nexus 5 or something (but then I'd miss the IR blaster, which comes in handy at bars, haha). But, I'm really thinking (at least for me) that it's some sort of software issue. Rage One and CM11 both seem rock solid, I flashed to both of those and streamed Netflix over the tether for a good 20+ minutes with no problem. Restore ViperOne and repeat the same thing, and connection drops several times within the first few minutes.
I've never gotten data to work for me consistently on cm10.1 or 10.2, haven't tried 11 yet.
I noticed this on the newest radio.. I switch back to the previous radio and my data drops (specifically while tethered) went down a lot.

[Q] WiFi slow and sometimes freezes

Hi guys,
I've got this new device four days ago, and experienced this WiFi issue:
Connection was very slow, and sometimes freezed. I've seen this happening while i was upgrading from 5.0 To 5.1, then experienced the same issue after the upgrade.
I've tested 3 different routers, made a speedtest every time and tried Play Store downloads and Youtube HD videos. Did a facotry reset twice, too.
Is it possibile that the hardware is malfunctioning?
Thanks and kind rewards,
Francesco.

Wifi disconnects when using torrent

I noticed that when I use uTorrent to download movies on my device the wifi automatically disconnects. I tried to limit my up speed and down speed and it fixed the problem but since the since the down speed is limited I only get 100kbs of down speed and nobody got time for a whole day just to download a 3gig movie. Is there any other way to fix this issue? Btw my my MIUI version is 10.3.8
