[Q] Heating and lagging - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since yesterday, my stock phone started having little lags. I left it beside my bed at night, and in the morning the battery lost 38% and died. I recharged, and since then it lags a lot, and heats like it didn`t before. I`m running a US unlocked model, stock, with 4.3. I thought it was a whatspp group I`m in (it has 46 people, and pushes a lot), but even uninstalling it didnt do a thing. I already did a factory reset, and things are the same.
Anyone else having problems?
Can anyone help me, please?

Well, working around and i got the outofmemoryerror. How can I fix this? Can anyone help me, please?

Try sending it back to the HTC repair center if it doesn't suck like the one here in Australia.

Nexus One Restarting Randomly! Help!

Hey guys,
I was hoping someone here could help me out. I just got my Nexus one Today, and I am charging it as we speak. But anyways I was playing around with it while it charges and it randomly crashes and restarts on me. I already did the auto update over the air to FROYO, but it is still doing the same thing. Also it seems to do it mainly in apps that use the gps, for example the compass app will do it every time.
It took me a month to get this phone to me in Costa Rica, and it would be way outside my available time and budget to get it replaced. So I hope it is a software problem, maybe some way to do a swipe or something.
PS: I already tried wiping it from the settings options, but it didn't help. Also I would like to root this phone, but I am to afraid now as I don't know if there is a hardware problem with it.
Thanks for you help, it is much appreciated!
I think random reboots are standard on the nexus. Mines stock and I've had the problem since I got it. But it only happens every couple days or so so im not too worried. How often is yours rebooting?
No this is every 5min.
But I think I figured it out. First off I realized it only happened with sim card in. Then I realized it only happened when I forced the WCDMA, which I need for 3g in Costa Rica. Then I realized that if I enabled roaming, even though I am not, and Left WCDMA on forced, it also stoped. So that is what I did, and it has been going for 30min now. Fingers crossed.
I am still going to get the official Froyo and place it on the sd card then wipe in recovery and update. Just for safety.
So yeah Looks like software issue. Which is really good for me! If it keeps working I am going to root it soon, can't stand that white notification bar

[Q] Freezing?

I have only had my streak for a few weeks and in that time I have been unable to use it for more than a few minutes before it freezes and I have to reset with the pinhole button. Has anyone else been having this issue? I have had it replaced. I have reset it to stock, had it rooted, left off all applications and Dell support is as helpful as a bulimic in an eating contest. The problem is that since I had it replaced once so I can't get a refund...
Does anyone have any advice or a similar issue?
I had to do it once back the week I got it in early Feb, but not since then. That's very strange...
Mine was same after second day after my purchase... I did a factory reset and it was fine after than.
Then subsequently those freezes are all because my relentless trial of all softwares that requires root. So those should has nothing to do with stock rom then since freezes disappear after i uninstall some apps.
Ah there is a pin? Had missed that.
It would have helped yesterday when my S7 froze and I had to let the battery run out.
This morning, fully recherged it died all of a sudden while I was using Google Maps and for a few minuts it was not even showing a light when recharging...all of a suddent it came back to life. Very odd!

[Q] Xperia V keeps on rebooting.

Hey XDA,
I hope you guys can help me with this annoying problem I am having with my Xperia V.
Two weeks ago I flashed UniQue3 on my phone since I was pretty satisfied with the previous version and I wanted to try the new one. (I had stock installed before that, since it had android 4.3).
Then crazy stuff started happening: My phone would just reboot when I was typing a message or browsing the web. No biggy, this happened before sometime as well. This time it was different. It happened constantly. I could not use Whatsapp for longer than 5 min before my phone just rebooted. Funny thing is this only happened when I was not charging it. It happened while charging it as well, but not nearly as often, maybe once every 5 hours.
My phone would not shut down either if I did not use my screen. I can listen to music for hours without it rebooting, but as soon as I try to answer or even read a message my phone reboots...
So I thought it might be the ROM. I installed CyanogenMod and at first it was better. But after two days everything started again. I am really confused as to what is wrong and I can't find a proper answer online. Some say it's Android 4.3, others say it's the battery.
So I was hoping you guys could help me out.
Greetings,
Krytos.
Try flashing the stock Rom and see if the problem still happens
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
Just flashed the stock rom and it did not help. Issue is still present.
Which tells you it's a hardware prob = bacterie
Yeah, that's what I thought. Gladly I bought a battery like three days ago, so I hope that will fix my issues.
maybe hardware problem of battery or even board.
Try to lock boot loader if it is open.

[TROUBLESHOOTING] Unexpected shutdowns during calls

Hey guys,
I really love my phone, also the ROM (Chroma) so the kernel (Francos). but my phone keeps shutting down during calls. It's really not funny anymore and it's totally getting a pain now, since I have to keep a 2nd phone with me, just to be able to do calls (the hell is my Nexus 6 for?!). I've tried all I could, with a simple fresh ROM without Gapps, with Gapps, with and without my own apps (backed up with Titanium). Just the most annoying thing I've ever had with a phone, and somehow I can't really believe it could be a hardware issue. Or maybe it is, since it's only happening during calls? To be honest, it already happened once during a game.
I'm living in Germany, so I've a PlayStore N6, no carrier labels or so. Just a pure Google Shamu device.
Any suggestions? Any help? Just something to keep my phone working during calls, except of an replacement? Would really love to get that damn thing solved. :crying:
Noone replies? Did hope for some more help. :crying:
The most curious thing is that my phone just simply shuts down (at e.g. 80 % battery). At this moment I'm getting warned about my battery status and the phone shows that it's 0 % battery left. Here's actually what's kinda weird. After immediatly restarting the phone it shows again 80 % battery (sometimes 1 - 3 % less). Redialing again ends up only sometimes with the same procedure.
Since those shut downs don't happen while charging the phone I coudln't even manage to get a Logcat via Android sdk. At least I was able to get a full log with LogCat. So if ANYONE is capable of getting some information out of that log - Let me know, you'ld totally be my man.
Thanks so far and hopefully someone's going to read this and help me.

Restarting in random moments. New rom needed?

Hello,
I am here because i have another problem with my lovely phone :/
You guys always helped me so i hope you will do it again.
Okay,
My phone is restarting in random moments. Screen is freeze for 1-2 seconds and then rebot. It is doesn't matter if phone is used hard (games) or if it's on the table.
1st time it happend with ROM 5.1.2. Then i've decided to go back to 4.1 rom and then automatic upgrade to 4.3.
Few days was okay and after then it starded again.
Does someone know why i have that issue??
I really hope that is only rom problem and if i change it the problem will gone.
And here's second part of thread.
What oryginal rom do you recomend? I have saw a lot of them but i have no idea what could i install.
Right now i have stock rom, i do not remember exactly number but i has "James Bond" music so i am sure it was one rom from that edition...
Edit:
If you find any better rom than stock 4.3 that is really stable i can take it as well
I jsut want my phone wokrks without any problems
Please, halp :fingers-crossed:
Try to run phone in a safe mode and see if the problem with restarting still exists.
I would suggest you to use this CM 12.1 rom it is working just great.
It could be a problem because i have no idea whenit will happen.
Now few days was great only today morning i saw that it restarted.
Hmm, for the first time restarts like this started with that rom... but i will give it another chance i think.
Then maybe an app are causing that random restarts or it may be a hardware problem. It even may be that sim card causing restarts, I have read something about it.
Btw I'm using that rom from the very first builds and I havent have any problems with phone restarts.
I had few restarts when sim card was loose but i have information that phone is restarting.
About app it's not the problem because even if i had no apps downloaded i had that problem
I hope i haven't destroyed my phone when i installed some roms. That would be bad.
For now i will try to instal CM 12 and i hope the problem will go away.
Edit.
And may it be just a battery problem?
Btw. I just did factory reset and already got few restarts, so i am sure it's not an app that causing the restart.
Okay i have watched that phone for a while and found new, fresh informations...
Even in a safemode phone cause to restart. It is no matter if i have a sim/sd card.
I also think it is getting hotter every restart but i am not sure about this.
When i was traveling by train it was restarting like a stupid... The phone was loosing signal and was changing to roaming etc.
I don't know if it has something with that...
After changing to android 5 few days was good and then...
Also that problem started in 1 day. Just started restarting, without any sympthoms.
Oh and 1 what is strange... After the restart when i touch the square (to cloose the apps) there are apps that i have been using before that restart.
Please, help :c
Edit. A hour ago the phone was restarting over and over, it turned on and sudently after homescreen loaded it restarted again. And that was for some time, now it is working without any issues for over 1 hour...
Edit. 2
After the night, and many restarts as well i saw that battery dropped. From 90% to 20%.
May it be just a battery problem and changing it will solve that?
I have the exact problem for 3 weeks now, the phone becomes screen off then randomly reboot and gets very hot. After reboot battery goes down like from 49% to 10%. My phone is just 2.5 years old and everything ia stock. In battery test it shows like battery health is normal. I also only use gsm+umts, mostly umts, Is there any solution for this?
