Ordered it!!!!! - Moto X Q&A

So finally made the decision and ordered the GSM Developer Edition, I wanted the 32GB and I also figured resale would be easier in the future! I freakin can't wait!! Do you guys who have white phones or the DE is the white a pain to keep clean? Should I put ghost armour or zagg on it?

No need unless you use grease or mud to wash your hands.
I do admit i am getting a case to avoid scratches on the front and the back, since it happened with my s3.
Welcome to the club.

I have the white with no issues so far. I have taken an alcohol pad to the back a couple times.

Vote to get Case-Mate's 'Barely There' case for Nexus S

I went through 3 or 4 different cases with my old Vibrant. None of them were good enough by being too big, being too lose, having an uncomfortable material, etc. Then I got Case-Mate's Barely There case and completely fell in love! I'd really like to get one for the Nexus S as well.

I have mine from my Nexus One but I also got one of those Samsung ones and two from DCmugen on ebay. DCmugen has pouches like the one that came with the Nexus One and they carry them in different colors.

I just voted!! I went to the website & they have it for the Nexus One. So hopefully they will roll it out to us Nexus S users. Thanks for the tip, mate.
Looks like its #1! i think
Indeed! Woot! Now hopefully they can get to it stat!
Great work everyone!
Hopefully we'll see a case soon.
they said there would be a pop! case available next month, do any of you guys have experience with the pop case for other phones? does it add a lot more bulk than a barely there case?

White plastic already showing dirt

Anyone else? The plastic on the side is already getting dirty...has anyone tried cleaning theirs?
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
Its just plastic. Wipe it down with a mild soapy water solution.
Mine still looks brand new and I'm a diesel mechanic. I take mine to work every night, and check messages and emails several times a night (sometimes with my dirty greasy gloves on). I've only had to clean the screen.

My problem is always the dye from my denim, which makes white cases completely blue. Mr. Clean works perfectly on the white edges here.

Yeah I asked if I could get the dual pro shine and she got me dual pro black and dual pro carbon fiber. I'm giving my carbon fiber away to one of the bad seeds and keeping the dual pro black. I will just buy the dual pro shine since I don't want to bug my friend some more

We don't have Mr. Clean Magic Eraser where I live so I have to buy it from Ebay. Is this the one I should get?

Yes, that is what you need. These erasers are amazing, they work everywhere on everything. Rumor has it, Michael Jackson used them to erase some scars from his Pepsi commercial.... he went a bit overboard and ... well... you know...
But seriously, yes. Those are the ones you'll need.

Those are the exact ones that I use around my house. They should be just fine for this purpose. I've never used them on my phone, but these are more than likely what the original suggestion was referring to. Best of luck.

How to repair cover up chipped metal back cover.

I've been trying to convince myself not to get the nexus 5, then I noticed that there is a pinhead sized chip on the back of my htc one
Now my ocd is kicking in and I might be losing my battle.
Any tips on how to cover up the damage. I would really not want to waste a hundred dollars our so switching phones again.

Can't really cover up the chip. Try putting a case on it. I know it will cover up the beauty of this phone. But after months without a case, I gave in to protect this phone after I started seeing small scratches and the logos getting scratched off. I recommend using the Poetic atmosphere case from Amazon. It has a clear back and it looks nice on this phone.
Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Atmosphere-Clear-BLACK-Warranty/dp/B00D1DCRN6
Or else if you've got the experience, you can change the body of the phone. They're available on etradesupply for around 25-30$,and are oem. Or you could just get someone with experience to do it for you.

I use these all the time on every device. Just as good as Zagg Shield at a ridiculously low price.
Have one on my M8 now and I like it.
Yes, you can't beat the price.

I've always used best skins ever but the price seems to good to pass. Can anyone compare the 2. Also is the dry one they have even worth it? Most cheap protectors end up getting filled with scratches after a couple weeks

They're excellent, with 80% off they are gorgeous.
Just bought 2.
Thank you
The dry ones are just like the crappy, scratch prone protectors. Learn from my mistake & don't bother.
I can vouch for their normal ones though, Zagg/BestSkins quality!

At least give a reason...
I just bought a full body protection and a nd screen protector for $2... Seeing as I normally only last a week or two before I peel them off, it's worth it? Haha

Last month i got 90%off
Btw, thanks for the info
Using it on my N5. Bought one for my M8 and for my gf iPhone 5c. I think they are pretty nice.

Looks like the code has expired. Just tried to use it and it isn't taking it anymore says it expired on the 16th. Hate I missed out.
Bought some when they were 90%. Got a bad batch and contacted customer service. They immediately sent replacements. It's still curing but I'm liking the look thus far. I bought the full body protection. I like how the back has a better grip now.
If anyone has a new discount code for these, please pass it on. Would love to try them out. Thanks.
Just got mine today, shipped to Sweden in about a week.
Bought 1 regular and one "HD" (dry install). Payed all together $2 (!!!) with shipping to Sweden.
Just applied the dry HD one, looks all right, but doesn't reach all the way out to the edges, missing 1,5-2 mm.
Got 2-3 dust particles stuck when applying, and all of them creates a small air pocket around it, that I hope will go away.
Gonna let it stay on for a while, and see how it works out.

Use 90offtwo
Thanks so much for the link!
Got two dry-apply screens for 80 cents!
I just needed the thinnest scratch-resistant screens to protect the Gorilla Glass of the M8. I'm putting the rest of it in a heavy-duty 2-layer silicone and polycarbonate case anyhow.
Just got a full body kit and hd protector for 1.30 thanks! I thought I'd get away form the Invisible Shields, and these look promising
Do I miss discount? Anyway, can someone who uses protector for back side can share his/her thoughts? I don't like screen protectors but I consider to buy protector for back side.

Just received my Moto G, is a case really even needed?

Love the device, just got it today. Am I safe without a case? If it drops do I risk major damage to the device or the piece on the back that snaps on?

I always use TPU cases. They are not very bulky, don't attract dust/lint and they provide some bump protection. Incipio makes a nice looking one (Motorola sells this) or there are plenty of generic TPU cases out there.

I find it one of the most slippery of all the phones i've owned. When i discovered a crack in the speaker seal, moto asked me if i dropped the phone. Never dropped, don't want to use it without a case. Absolutely need a good case. I made a mistake ordering a nice looking ebay case under $4.00. Now i want to spend $10+ on a quality case.

Haha, just wait until you try the Galaxy S6.
Give a try to Moto G Premium Quality Screen Protector : Anti Glare Matte edition
Needed? Nope.
Desired since you put some cash out for a nice device and you might want to keep it in great condition since it's mainly plastic? Yep, definitely.
As for recommendations, people need to choose the cases they find most appealing and at prices they can afford so I rarely ever go that far. There are quite a few cases available because the Moto G3 is a pretty popular device - the Moto G series are Motorola's best selling phones - so you'll find something to your liking at a good price if you spend time doing the research.

An hour after that misquote from CES someone else from Lenovo put out a press release clarifying that the Moto line of devices is not going anywhere - it's their best selling devices so even though Lenovo has made some stupid decisions over the years (what they're doing to ThinkPads is one of them) they're not THAT stupid as to dump the most popular best-selling hardware devices in the history of their Motorola Mobility purchase.
Another stupid thing? Dropping the Motorola brand name which will happen later this year.
I use a case mostly as a safety measure, but it makes it harder to use it one-handed. :/
Always use a case. The one time I had my case off (it was my old Moto Atrix HD) I dropped it and shattered the screen. I did replace it and had fun doing it but the g3 is a bit harder. I used to use a plain gel case.
