[Q] Maclaw CM10.2 - Jellybean 4.3 - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am using the CM10.2 | Jellybean 4.3 by Maclaw [20131021] and I would like to ask if it's possible to have somehow:
1. a 4-way reboot
2. long press back to kill application
The ROM, in my opinion, is currently the best available for our phone (although I had some soft reboots). It's stable, fast, and has fairly good battery life.
Thank you!

Long press back to kill is available in developer option.

Ok, now I feel stupid
Where are exactly the Developer Options in this ROM?
I have no Developer section in System Settings!

Go in "about phone", scroll down to "build number" and press it a bunch of time fast. This should unlock the dev menu.

Cool trick! Thank you Nemo!

You're welcome. Quick question, what is "4 way reboot"?

If it's what I think it is, it's in "developer options". It's called "advanced reboot".

Yes that what I meant!
I found everything I wanted under the dev options.
Thank you for your help my friend!

Don't mention it.

Rome ok. It is also possible to assign someone sms tones. only a problem exists.
the load of phone in reach of 100% after 5 minutes, the phone automatically turns off. can this be fixed?
sorry but my english is not so good.

Do you mean that the memory is used a 100% or are you talking about the battery?

Go to notification Widgets in CM settings. There is an option to enable or disable the lock screen. Try that....

Mine was gone after some time.
I believe there was some conflict with some app, and with regular update it was gone.
For you i may suggest get a lock screen app from play store wait for some time, i hope your problem will be solved.

if not resolved by activating or deactivating from the options, you have to review the newly installed applications they can be the source of the problem.

I have the same problem, it's a bug from CM7.2, There is a fix in the milestone version, i've got a defy, but i can't find the file to modify, maniac103 made a fix in that rom

Wifi down arrow blinking

My wifi is acting strange last days. The down arrow is always blinking. When switching to 3g this is not happening, so no app issue i suppose. Using speedmod kernel. Its happening on two different routers I have at home. Have surfed the internet, but could not find a clear solution. Any ideas?

Is it possible that the wifi scan is going on?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
There can be 2 reasons for that..
1st-> Under Software Update option Auto Update is enabled with Wi-Fi only mode.
2nd-> In Play Store go to Settings and see if Update over Wi-Fi only is enabled or not.
Think this will solve your problem.
Thanks for your help. I tried it. I even installed a complete vanilla Rom and kernel. I suspect it is a scanning problem because the frequency and behaviour is almost the same as when i am at the wifi scanning settings menu.

I'm getting this on a brand new (stock) Note. Only happens on my home WiFi. Did you ever figure it out?

As per the above discussion, it seems to be the wifi scan that goes on after a certain interval of time (15 sec)...
"may be it can be fixed by changing wifi.supplicant_scan_interval value to a higher value" in the build.prop file.
rom toolbox pro helps you do this...
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=15 and change it to your desired value wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=90.
just to let you know .. i tried this once by directly changing the values using ES text editor but then phone dint boot.. i had to do a nandroid restore...
so in case you wanna experiment... make sure u have a working backup.... (nandroid)

Hold - back to kill current app

This is the main feature on that I miss, the possibility of killing the open app by holding back button.
It's a very simple procedure, and I'm sure that there's Tasker script to do this, but do you know any app that can do this on any rom? I don't have Tasker and don't intend to buy it.

Odp: Hold - back to kill current app
You will find it on cm 7 and cm10 rims.
Sent from LG 2X using Tapatalk 3 Beta
which rom are you using? cm10/10.1 has this option
developer options > (scroll to the bottom) kill app back buton (turn it on)
back button has to be pressed for a while (second or two) to kill the foreground application...
Ow, I'm sorry. I was saying that this is the main feature I miss on stock roms; I always used this on cm. But what I find funny is that it looks a very simple work to do, and very useful also (e.g. killing that wrong app you opened before its 10s to open), but I can't find it on play.

I miss it too, along with the hold volume to change tracks when standby, anyway stock ics (dmx to be accurate) is much better than cm imo.

Issue is with android_vendor_pa mb886 makefile pointing to XHDPI overlay, fixed it and submitted a pull request to the dev team. Temp fix is to manually add the XHDPI overlay into the rom. -- just replace the contents of this file with /system/etc/paranoid/properties.conf and replace the boot animation with this

System Interface Problem!
When on phone ui mode I started getting a failure message that said System Interface has stopped working... The problem disappeared by setting my phone on tablet ui mode. This means that the statusbar is on the bottom of the screen and some system related layouts is tinytiny..
Now I'm tired of tablet ui and want to go back, but then I start getting the fail message again. It pops up every 5 seconds so it's pretty annoying. Any idea on how to fix this? Without doing a hard reset?
