[Q] Razr I Invalid img size - RAZR i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
My friend has a brother with 7 years, and his brother blocked his phone, and now He doesn't know what is the password.
He has root and fastboot, but when I try to install recovery I can't.
I use the CMD (fastboot) (cellphone in fastboot mode)
fastboot flash recovery cwm.img
but failed
It showed this message : invalid inage size for partition recovery.
Please, what do I need to do ?
I'm helping him.

So I guess you're trying to wipe data, right?

Yes, I want to do wipe data/factory, but I'm unsuccessfully.
When I needed to use "fastboot/cmd" with my xt925 I was unsuccessfully too ...
Then I use a client "v8 flasher recovery", but it is other history xD
I don't understand Why "fastboot/cmd" never work with me.
=/

Yes
I tryed with twrp and cwm.
Will be that something is missing ?

When I flashed CWM for the first time I had bricked my phone,re flashed it with RSD (I guess you are bootloader unlocked), downloaded the proper fastboot files for it and then flashed CWM with the same command as you, so I don't know anything that could be impending you from installing it.

Yeah, you can try that and see if it works ( Is USB Debugging on?)
Sent from my XT890 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I don't know, because when I needed to use a software (Recovery Flasher by LeBobo v1.5) He didn't work, because he needs debugging.

Flash a rom. Because there isn't any system installed. This is caused by you formatting it. Also, try making your question more clear next time.

Make sure you have cwm5.
Go to recovery, flash custom zip. And then select the downloaded zip file.

Can't get into Recovery Mode and Download Mode!
Hi there!
I'm having a difficulty in getting into Recovery Mode and also Download Mode!
The Volume up+Power+Home doesn't work and Volume Down+Power+Home doesn't work also. But somehow I can get into Download Mode by pressing down the Volume up+Volume Down+Power Buttons but after that Odin is not recognizing my device!
Any help?

[Q] Stuck after correct decrypt code entered. Razr i. Telcel

I HAVE AN XT890 and have been using it for about two weeks..
I rooted the phone and just installed rooted apps on top of stock firmware.
but then I tried installing a mod ROM and it goes trough, but when is at the "Type password to decrypt storage"
I enter my code and it goes fwd but then it just stops at the green android dude that has gears for top and bottom parts....
I thought it was a problem with my password, but I realized that it still recognizes it, since it does not go to the green android sceen if I enter the incorrect password..
I tried to just wait for it.. But no luck..
tried to flash a stock ROM using RSD lite
I get an error with a command Not recognized
In recovery, I try to wipe data, but it says:
wiping data
Formating /data...
Error mounting /data!
Skipping format...
Formatting /cache...
Formatting /sd-ext...
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure...
Error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure!

Thanks in advance to all of you guys!!!

How to get S-OFF

Hi all,
I have atm S-ON on my phone with Unlocked Bootloader...I wanted to flash new recovery, its say all is done but recovery dont work so i think S-ON is the problem....the question is:
How i can make my phone to S-OFF without recovery and root access?
Are you flashing the correct recovery for your handset?
Double check your download of the recovery is not corrupt (even try a different browser to download with).
If your Bootloader is unlocked you don't NEED to S-OFF to flash a new recovery.
Ensure the command to flash the recovery is correct, a typo can cause it not to flash.

Your command is incorrect it should read
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
With that incorrect command it's tried to flash 'recovery' with a file called img.img which it will not find

Try this, I have had failing flashes due to PC, are you using Windows? If so try this....
Remove all extracted files (delete from location) even uninstall if needs be.
Reboot PC.
Reinstall if uninstalled.
Extract your files again.
Reflash.
This may seem silly :what: but I had a similar problem and it can be down to PC using 'Cached' files that become corrupt, 3 days I had problems until I rebooted and started again, worked first time
Beyond that I would heavily search your devices threads for more info

Thanks for idea, tried it,but not work
You guys had No file found,No image found and etc when click on HBOOT ? Its say in green color and show only for 1 second..
Just searched your Q&A thread, go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2952430
Looks like your recovery partition may be named 'rec' and not 'recovery' so check if it is correct with something like disk info app that gives names of partitions, if it is correct you need write your command as
Code:
fastboot flash rec recovery (or whatever name it is) .img
The .img name is irrelevant unless it's being flashed by a program, the location it is being flashed to HAS to match the partitions name.

You may NEED to be rooted if the recovery is within the system area otherwise it will always fail as you won't have the correct permissions to write files within that area.

but how get root without install recovery?

Please help with endless boot loop animation.

My phone was unlocked and rooted but running the factory 5.1 ROM. I had a 5.1.1 update this morning but it erred during install. I removed the root using Kingo Root and that's when the endless boot looping began. It appears as if my phone now both locked and unrooted but won't complete the boot process.
I tried unlocking the phone again using Nexus Root Toolkit but it tries to boot the phone, so I can turn on USB Debugging maybe, which doesn't work so I can't find a way to unlock my phone at this point.
I tried flashing a factory image using Nexus Root Toolkit and get the below errors. Nothing changes after completion.
TWRP will not install, I assume because the phone is currently locked.
Can somebody please give me some options to try? I'll do whatever works. I don't mind stock rom, I don't mind a custom ROM. Anything that works is OK with me.
I would love to get TWRP on there if possible.
I think my first step should be to get the phone unlocked again but is there a way to do it with a phone that boot loops constantly?
Thanks.
Also, doing a wipe and reset in recovery didn't help at all.
If fastboot format userdata and cache doesn't fix it, there's nothing you can do.
This is the image I get when I try to unlock using Nexus Root Toolkit. Obviously the boot loop starts and I'm unable to complete the unlocking procedure.

Think what you will. But the answer is no.
I have two options in recovery; Wipe Cache Partition & Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
I've done both and it still boot loops.
So this phone needs to go in to the shop for service?

Was the phone rooted before?
Also after you flash in ODIN is the phone rebooting to recovery?
If the flash is successful your phone should reboot right back into recovery. If it is not doing that then you are flashing the wrong file. In ODIN you need to use the .tar file, but the img file.
Also if you are downloading it from the TWRP website you need to extract the file from the zip. Do not flash the zip. The tar file is inside the zip.

After an ODIN flash of TWRP the phone should reboot to TWRP not to the firmware/rom.
You must have a bad download somewhere or you are using the wrong file.
The only other reason would be a locked bootloader, but the 910T comes unlocked.
Uncheck auto-reboot in odin, then pull the battery and boot into recovery after flashing.
