Pretty sure this should be in Q/A, bit yeah I get lag when in landscape and I tap the screen to show the bar and buttons. It isn't there when I turn on full screen mode, so it might be to do with the status bar?

Yep, because when the status bar only is showing (I.e. nav bar disabled) it still happens

[Q]maybe a silly cuestión about scfeen buttons

After getting my razr i , i noticed something right away , the case wich it cames in ,shows that navigation buttons have a dimmed backgroud , but actually they'r background is pretty dark and do not desappear on multimedia playback , rendering a 4 inches screen instead of the 4.3 display featured on the same case picture the phone comes , maybe im missing something in configurations or so , but been looking arround and have found nothing , otherwise great phome ,cant wait till i get home and unlock that bootloader
thx in advance , and again sry if this is a silly question
p.d.: attached a picture of the case

Yes, mine does that.
Yes disappears on video playback, and on some landscape oriented games - they're unobtrusive when they need to be.

Stock Camera.

What can I do to speed up the camera launch speed. It takes around 5 seconds to launch which is terrible. And please don't suggest I use a 3rd party app.

Sad to say but theres nothing you can do to fix that,,,,
But there is another way to capture photos fast by just clicking the volume down button even if the acree is turned off. , goto the android development section and look for the tiopic called, ( camera mod fast capture enable)

Or just try to update last firmware. There this problem is solved.

There is currently no fix for this issue, but I'm sure future updates will fix it.
BUT: There is a mod in the mod section that allows you to quickly capture images with volume up

I'm not running the latest firmware and and I'm not sure if the mod will work. A lot if people are reporting the camera app disappearing and that's a risk I'm not willing to take. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Wait for the update.
Camera opens almost instantly from lockscreen now.

Just prompted an update now. Hopefully that's the one.
Can I update with a custom recovery using pc companion? I'm also rooted.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 2
Update: received an update and the camera is much faster at launching now. Not the fastest but definitely an improvement.
However, I lost root and my custom recovery. Oh well. The sacrifice was worth it.

5secs? Damn.. Mine takes 2 secs and to me that's fine
Thank god for the update. It takes around 2 seconds now as well. And it even fixed my notification LED issue. It now works with no problems

If you use a launcher like Nova you could use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40084488. It gives a bit faster startup, but only in Superior auto.

The update seemed to have improved the camera boot up speed. But thanks for the tip.
I've also realised that the update made my navigation and status bar black by default. =D

Pull down in full screen apps

On my note 2 (romed don't remember about stock) I could bring the pull down at anytime even in 3d full screen apps. I noticed this is not possible with my one. Aside from installing status bar app, is this a known limitation? It's bugging the crap out of me. Thanks.

I'm able to pull down my notification screen while in apps. What ROM are you running?

I wouldn't call it a limitation... It just doesn't do it.. So yeah in a way I guess limitation is about right.

I am running Renovate latest build. I have the same "issue" on Viperboy's rom. I can do it in apps just not full screen ones.

Yeah, some apps allow you to enable the notification bar while others do not in full screen. It would be nice to be able to do it though.
This is actually a FEATURE of Samsung apps. Literally the one and only thing I miss from my s3, I used it so much I considered not getting the One just for that reason.

Smart status bar in the play store brings the notification bar back by pulling down the top edge of the screen.

[Trick] Open widgets - Little late to the party?

I don't know if someone has discovered this neat feature or Bug(maybe?) of 4.4 (exists in 4.4.2 too).
Click on app drawer and quickly press 2 things, home button and then quickly single press the screen dots icon(which shows home many homescreens you have) present above the app drawer icon.
It opens widgets. I'm sure it didn't exist when I had nexus 4 with 4.3, Works on nexus 5. I could record a screen recording to show what m talking about but there is no option for that in stock(correct me if m wrong). I used to do that all the time in cataclysm ROM easily with toggles.
It's a known bug but it was removed in 4.4.1/2...at least for me.

Dude this isn't rom related, latest youtube doesn't work in fullscreen on my device, i mean the zoom function. I'm using vanced youtube version 13.10.55 and the zoom function works

I'm also using Vanced and it works.

thanks for your advice
so it is all about the app developer whether they have handled the 18:9 app scaling?
is it something system-related and force the app scaling for all app??

Τhere is a setting with which an app will use fullscreen, I can't tell you exactly where it is cause my Mi 8 is bricked, but take my word cause i have used it.
