TF701 Cases - Asus Transformer TF701

Anyone any good experience with cases for the TF701?
I'm thinking about ordering the PERFECTO PRO Case: http://www.amazon.com/caseen-PERFEC...?ie=UTF8&qid=1383161902&sr=8-2&keywords=tf701

Hi,
Hi, I use my Noreve leather case I bought for my TF700.
It fits a little tight because the dimensions of the TF701 differ just 1 or 2 millimeters but it fits.
And it is the nicest very compact high value case there is IMHO.
edit: Noreve will come within 14 days with an adapted case for the 701.

Looks pretty nice, quite expensive as well, though.
I bought this one http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B005HI4FPG/ which is much cheaper and alright for me. I think you can't use the tablet that good when it's in the case, though.

There should come a TransCover (http://www.asus.com/Tablet_Mobile_Accessories/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_TransCover/#overview) that looks perfect for me! Hope I can get it in Switzerland soon...

looking to pick up the TF701 soon

I have that case for a few months now (TF700T version), and it fit perfectly on the TF701T. No ports, cameras, or anything is blocked. I have the one without the bezel swipe feature that you have in the Amazon link. You will like it. The leather is great quality and the stitching is well done.
Just posted this in the other case thread in the General section, probably someone will merge them together!

I've ordered this one: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B007MTLWWW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
hope it will fit, should be receiving it tomorrow i hope

I'd like to find a reasonably priced alternative that is available now leaving me the option to switch in the future if I'm not happy with it. I like this type of case. The caseen option looks like it is similar, but is twice the price.
Thanks,

I'd say give us a try . We have been developing cases for the Transformer series since the TF101, and we have come a long way to making our Perfecto Pro model. From our experience, you lose something on universal type cases or non-premium ones. Be it a camera port, speaker port, light sensor blocked etc. I know its expensive, but the material and labor cost is extremely high for this case.
PM if any other questions .

Yes I'm holding out for this one too. No indication of when it goes on sale though.

Here some pictures of the Noreve case for the TF700 (I have it in black) made by another user (thanks for them).
The one for the TF701 is very slightly bigger due to the slightly thicker dock.
I will get mine tomorrow.
It is not cheap but it is very very well made (real high quality leather) and comes in a beautiful box.

Need a Hard Shell Case!
I have just gotten my TF701.
I love it! However, using it naked makes me nervous.
I went ahead and ordered the caseen perfecto for it, but I will be looking for a hard shell cover.
Something similar in construction style to the Trident Kraken or the Lifeproof cases for smartphones.
I doubt I will ever dock it, I didnt even order the dock. However, it will be carried along in and out of clients offices, in and out of my truck, and generally abused. The company iPad was in a lifeproof case, and survived all of that without a scratch.... I just hate iPads.
Are there any options out there for me? Because all I find at the moment are the portfolio style cases designed to work with the keyboards.
Without the keyboard, the TF701 is still just about the baddest Android tablet available.

Moko cover for 700 works for 701 - with minor alterations
That Caseen is just way too expensive! Over $50 US after shipping and taxes. Insane. I'm currently using the Moko 360 Degree Roto Cover that I used with my TF700 for over a year. The 701 fits in there just fine, but since the buttons on the 701 are more toward the back of the device than on the 700 and the volume buttons are in a completely different place, I had to make a couple small snips in the leather with some scissors to get better access to the volume buttons and the microSD slot. It's still not ideal, but it works for me. Probably won't work for you if you're someone who uses the volume buttons very much - the volume buttons are still a bit of a tight squeeze up against the back of the cover. The snips really aren't noticeable unless you're looking for them. It's not an ideal situation but until more accessories made specifically for the 701 start showing up, this $20 solution is good enough for me. My only complaint about the cover is that the cutout that allows access to the charging port is not reinforced with thread and seems like it would be prone to fraying over time. Thankfully, my wife was able to fix that with a needle and some decent white thread so it looks just like the stitching around the rest of the cover and I'm not worried it's going to fray apart.

I just got this one, works great for when the tablet is out of the dock. I like this style of case more than the ones that cover the whole bezel.

Is this the same as http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Slim-fit...=1386169321&sr=8-2&keywords=moko+nexus+7+case except that it is matched to the 701? I had one of these for my 201 and liked it. Are all of the cutouts well matched? How long did it take to arrive?
Thanks for any information.

High Quality Cases

So I was hoping we could talk about high quality cases that look good and may cost more than the usual cases found on ebay etc. Even though I understand cheap is good at times I do prefer my cases to be of a high standard to hold my precious Nexus 7.
Any high quality cases on the horizon?
I've been looking at a sleeve. I can't post a link, but it's leather and comes with a 100 year warranty. It's by Saddleback Leather and is the medium gadget sleeve.

Saddleback is GOOD stuff. Might have to see if they have one that will fit the N7, otherwise might be able to request one.
Someday I'd love to get a Saddleback Attache. They are beautiful and will last long enough to pass down to grandkids (I don't have kids yet)!
http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/products/kindle-fire-plush-sleeve/1992727
These are $19-25
Timbuk2 makes really great cases. They are currently on sale for the kindle fire. I have double checked the dimensions and it will def fit the Nexus 7. The great thing about the Timbuk2 cases are the functional design. They have a pillow style memory foam padding and ballistic Nylon outside, and a plush, velour faux fur lining for the inside. The faux fur really goes a long way to keeping the screen and body scratch free.
I have 2 on order. They have a couple of different color combos to choose from. I am def into the sleeve style cases. I don't understand why anyone would want to put their tablet or e-reader in a jacket. They are designed to be held, especially the Nexus 7. The rubber back just begs to be gripped.
I'm hoping for a nice case from Incipio. Love the case from them that I have on my Galaxy Nexus.
I went with the roocase super bubble and XOSkin screen protector. I will eventually get a TPU case but don't really like any that are out now.
Those handcrafted leather ones look amazing though! Very nice brand name for other leather goods, but I didn't know they made this line of stuff.

I've asked Oberon Design if they're planning to make one for the Nexus 7. http://oberondesign.com/e-reader-covers-4/siena-ereader-covers.html I've had two of their covers and they're amazing. Their tablet cover isn't intricate like their Ebook reader covers but the quality is definitely there.

Actually, I got a reply this morning - a good one:
"We are looking into making a cover specifically for the Nexus. We have one ordered and once we receive it we will be able to develop our design. I don’t know at this point if the siena style will be an option or not. We will have to see. Stay tuned for more information on our website and facebook page.
Thanks so much for your interest."
I told her that I don't care which one it is, to keep me posted. I love their cases. :good::good:
DODOcase makes great handmade case for the iPad and Kindle. I contacted them asking about the Nexus 7 and they said,
Thanks for your interest! We don't currently have an ETA for release yet, but we are looking into a case for the Google Nexus.
You can keep your eyes peeled for new DODOcase products in the near future, and you can go to the below link to join our mailing list and to follow us on facebook and twitter, which will keep you updated on our latest products and editions.

Does anyone know if the official N7 case works as a horizontal kickstand?
I bought the Timbuk2 Plush Sleeve, which is designed for the Kindle Fire, but the Nexus 7 is within the maximum dimensions. I've always been a big fan of their stuff and this sleeve is no exception... super nice!
FYI... I can confirm the Plush sleeve for the Fire fits the N7 perfectly.
I also asked a G+ question to Vajacases.com. Genuine Argentinian leather products. I began using them on my Sony Clie back in the days of pdas
Awesome product, almost to the par of Oberon cases. I have one on my wife's old Nook but looks great.
There's also http://www.reauthored.com/, which was reviewed on rootzwiki a week ago. Pretty cool stuff but unsure if they will make one for a N7. I haven't asked them yet.
Edit: Looks like they do lol

rooCASE Multi-Angle Leather Folio Case (Video Review)

http://www.amazon.com/rooCASE-Multi...TF8&coliid=I3PNX4KCCN3GST&colid=2KWIRQ1PEHLSD
If your looking for a great Nexus 7 Case at a incredible price .. this is a steal for $15...
It's as advertised, it's multi-angle to any position you want because they grey area is felt, and it has velcro feet on the bottom side of the tablet that let's you position it anyway you want and it's holding up great!! .. it's very stable in portrait mode as well..maybe I do a video or something sometime soon, but it's a steal .. closes by a magnet and I forget what it's called but when you close the cover the screen turns off and when you open the cover the screen turns on...
I honestly can't see them settling at this price for this product .. it's every bit worth the $30 that they have as the retail. I had it pre-ordered and they just started shipping yesterday. I got mine within a day since it's shipping from Southern California ..
Update 7/22: Lots of people are asking about "muffled sound" with this case, in which I reply I don't have an issue with that. For those on the fence, I went ahead and took a picture of the back of the Nexus when the case fully extended. There are in fact holes for the speaker. Let's think about this for a moment. When you use the case in "landscape mode", the holes aren't covered. If you just lay your Nexus 7 flat on a desk and just flip open the cover.."you" are covering the holes. But imo, it's not terrible. It's not like the Nexus 7 puts out Bose Audio quality surround sound .. and again this case is only $15 shipped .. Worse case scenario, Amazon has an excellent and simple return policy.
And if your still unhappy with your sound :crying: .. Grab this free EQ App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartandroidapps.equalizer&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zbWFydGFuZHJvaWRhcHBzLmVxdWFsaXplciJd
And Please .. Press the thanks button if I've helped you at all..
Lastly, I'm including a picture of the screen lit up in the case. So you can see that no, the case doesn't cover the screen. The notification bar issues is because there's only a little bit of room there and our fingernails need to be cut!

I am taking a leap of faith since I need a case and this doesn't look as ****ty as the other folio cases out and does have the magnet so :fingers-crossed:
I ordered one of these yesterday. Was $10 w/ 5 dollar shipping basically. Looks good to me in the pics, hopefully it fits good when I get it.
I liked how it had the magnet for auto-wake, and how it had a stand mode for watching movies I guess. And how it was cheap
Im really digging this case. I have a post here about the exogear car mount..and i can mount the nexus 7 with the case still on .. when i get time im going to update my pictures and do a new video on that one as well.. enjoy guys!

The rooCASE looks nice but a bit too thick. What do people think about that?
Thanks
Purchased one of these today. Paid $10 for it earlier. Looks decent enough for me right now. Hope it's good quality.
The one I originally wanted was the one below. Has a handstrap along with a magnet to close the flap. I just can't honestly wait 2 weeks for it so I settled for this one.
Do you think this one has a magnetic closing flap so it doesn't accidentally open?

rooCASE Multi-Angle Folio Case Cover for Google Nexus 7 Tablet
http://www.amazon.com/YooMee-Androi...qid=1342736104&sr=1-1&keywords=nexus+7+yoomee
I guess I got my answer and the cons outweigh the pros:
"I have noticed that the speaker is quite muted while in this case, and also its kind of bulky. It probably triples the thickness of the nexus 7."
(http://www.amazon.com/rooCASE-Multi-Angle-Leather-Google-Automatically/product-reviews/B008F05Q2E/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&colid=2KWIRQ1PEHLSD&coliid=I3PNX4KCCN3GST&showViewpoints=1)
The rooCases do increase the bulk but IMO they are worth their weight in gold. I have a leather rooCase on my ASUS Transformer - which got knocked to the ground from a height of about 4 feet and it did not get any damage from the fall, not a nick, dent or crack. Here's a link to the genuine leather rooCase for the Nexus. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008F05Q5Q/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
This one is more expensive; but the inner case is detachable and can reattach in portrait
mode for video chats. The only other downside is the bezel is covered and makes the notification bar marginally harder to pull down.

I have been using this case throughout the day and find it to be very well made. It does add a little bit of bulk but nothing out of the ordinary. The tablet is the very well protected and it stands up well in landscape mode. The overall very happy with the purchase.

Exactly. I was surprised at how well made it is. I also ordered this case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008GFHO6Y/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00 It's going back. Bulkier than I like and it looks cheap.

The Nexus 7 Yoomee case will be my main case, when it arrives - I think. Really like everything about it (and I didn't expect to...)
I have to say, if anyone can let me know how to contact rooCASE for support, I would greatly appreciate it. My wife ordered a case from them for her Samsung GT 10.1, and it pretty much fell apart in the first month or so. She and I have both sent numerous email messages asking for them to honor their lifetime warranty, and neither of us have received a response.
Can't recommend them, honestly, and at this point it's the principle of the whole thing. I simply can't believe that a company of their stature (this isn't some fly-by-night outfit) doesn't respond to email. And, as far as I can see, there's no phone number to call.

sleeve/ soft cases

I don't want a case that covers the bezel or the back, just something to protect my n10 when it is slung in my backpack or messenger bag.
Does anyone know if these will fit the n10?
Samsung Textile Pouch
Kensington Soft Carrying Case
Proporta Perfora which is listed as a Nexus 10 case but seems to be a netbook case so will likely be too thick.
I am thinking about a sleeve myself.
To protect the nexus 10 while not in use or carrying it, but not to add bulk to the tablet while in use.
I am thinking about picking up a case logic sleeve.

I'd like to know too. You can get it through Amazon cheaper http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-LA...id=1353866151&sr=1-1&keywords=LAPST-110-BLACK and their return procedure is pretty painless.
I'd try it myself but my N10 hasn't arrived yet and I want to try the Galaxy Tab 10.1 accessories I already have before buying more "stuff".
Let us know.
I picked up this HP case (based on a recommendation in another thread):

I picked it up off of Amazon for $10, but the picture over on Amazon is not correct (this picture on BestBuy is correct). It has padding on both sides of the device in the main pocket plus a second zippered pocket for cable, headphones, charger etc. It is the right size and the N10 fits in the case right; but, I am sure there are smaller cases if you don't need the large second pocket across the whole case. I picked this case up to have it available now as I am watching other cases being released. I also have three more different cases on order for different situations. My favorite so far is the Poetic Slimline case, but it is not available until the end of December. Good luck.
This Samsung-made pouch fits damn-near perfect:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055193HU/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
It fits pretty tight at first, but loosens up over about 10 insertions and removals. It doesn't cover 100% of the tablet though, there's still about ~3mm of the tablet exposed at the open end. To me it's negligible, since it's used to place the tablet into my backpack.
And it's less than 11 bucks.
I didn't want some big hard cover, just a sleeve, but also didn't want to spend any money on it so just made my own last night using half of a full-desk neoprene gaming mousemat and a needle exactly what i was after for simply carrying it around and such. It's not perfect but it was free and does it's job ut great

I love these kind of comments
FYI, I bought this one
http://www.amazon.co.uk/V7-Protective-Sleeve-iPads-Tablets/dp/B0085JT0BS/
Its quite thick (~30mm) with the Nexus 10 inside, but I felt the bubbles inside should really help protect the screen when its in my laptop bag.
The zip closes no problem, but it wouldn't take a tablet even a few mm taller(in portrait), width-wise(also in portrait) there is a good 20mm space. The padding is quite thin on the zip and edges, protected, but not as well as the main faces. I feel it is a good buy.

I picked up the Hp as well for $20 at Bestbuy works well and will get the job done until new cases are released
I like the looks of this one, because while I think I'll be using the thing naked most of the time, I know I need a sleeve, plus this one can prop the unit up if I want to watch a movie on an airplane or something.

I bought this one as well from amazon us and am very happy with it. Nice snug fit, not loose at all.

ASUS Versasleeve
Using an ASUS Versasleeve (sold TF700) and it works great. Fit is perfect and case doubles as a stand with two positions (typing and viewing). I prefer using my tablets naked and have been through 5+ cases before deciding on the Versasleeve.

I tried this case from LLC but the N10 was too wide to fit in. I'm hoping for something like this to come out for the N10. The magnetic top closes it nicely and keeps it folded when you use it as a folio style stand. It's also paper thin. If anyone has a line on something like this for the N10 please post:

If anyone lives in the UK, I just bought a laptop neoprene case from pound land for £1 while I wait for my Poetic Slimline case to arrive from amazon. It may not be a perfect fit, but it definitely gets the job done.

Can't go too wrong for $10.62 delivered. Goo designs a beautiful product and then tells the user to either risk carrying it around naked or put it into a case that will defeat their design efforts? I believe the cover they promoted, if it had been available, would have have helped them to sell more tablets.

Thanks for the tip. I've tried it with mine and I almost didn't get it out and then sold it with my Galaxy Tab 10.1. I loved the pouch because it was very slim, minimalistic and the tablet was slightly protected when it was just laying around on the couch or when I put it in my laptop bag.
Unfortunately it's 22€ on Amazon.de (around $25) but I think it's still worth it since I hate it when a case is completely attached to the tablet.

That is a really nice looking sleeve. Quite pricey but could be tempted to pick one up when my nexus 10 arrives
Ordered this one
http://www.ebay.com/itm/170933946177?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
+ pre-ordered the Slimline on Amazon.
Will post review when I get it
P.S. UPS shows tracking that my Nexus 10 will be here today...Woohoo
Got a few pictures of the Galaxy Tab Case and the Asus Versasleeve.
The galaxy case is housing the N10 pretty well at this point, with almost 0 protrusion of the tablet.
Overall, I think I will be using the Versasleeve. I remember people complaining about the plastic smell on the Nexus 7 poetic cases, but holy hell this Asus case is much worse in the magnitude of smell.
Other than the ugly brown, I think it'll work well.

Blurex Ultra Slim Case, anyone have it?

http://www.amazon.ca/Blurex-Ultra-G...YQ86/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1355674844&sr=8-3
Does anyone have any impressions of this case, or other cases by this company? Build quality? Thinness?
I am quite happy with this case. Don't get me wrong, it is the same case, sold by various companies from the same Chinese manufacturer, but it is very light, thin, and looks quite good. Can't be beat for the money. I liked so much, that I ordered the same basic case for both my Nexus 7 and my Galaxy Note 10.1
It adds very little heft to the tablet, and holds the tablet very securely

The pictures aren't very clear. Can someone comment if the cameras and speakers are getting covered (obstructed) or not?
They are not! Great case
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
It's a simple case, doesn't obstruct anything. It has 2 levels of stand and I would recommend it if you think you are going to drop and scratch your brand new N10 like I did...
Awesome. I ordered one yesterday with one day shipping. Need it for travelling this Christmas.
Mine doesn't seem to grip the tablet on the two bottom holders.
Anyone else ? A little hard to get on too.
Anyone able to post a video review? Please and thanks!
M
This looks just like the Poetic case that I got.
If my case didn't actually have "Poetic" branded into the case, I'd think it was all the same company with 1 item under different names.
I have it. Its perfect.. None of the ports (including pogo) are blocked. Does not add any bulk. Has a convenient strap into which you can slide your palm when case is open, allowing single handed operation. Wake/sleep works as advertised. Very easy to convert into stand

I bought itand it makes the tablet that much better, the tablet does slip out if the grooves a little but it hasnt bothered me at all. I just put it back in without even thinking about it. the material feels good in my hands too. Does a great job protecting the tab.
Owned this case for my OG Transformer, got it again for my Transformer Pad, and am buying it again for my new Nexus 10. Love this case.

Do 700 Cases Fit the 701?

Does anyone have both a 700 and a 701? Are the cases interchangeable? I'm not seeing much in the way of 701 cases at the moment, but there are plenty of choices for 700 cases.
Thanks,
Craig

I guess that means my backup plan while waiting for 701 cases to show up is not going to work
Anyone else know about the 700 versus 701 fit?
the tablet may physically fit inside the case but the buttons and camera placement might not be the right place

The Noreve leather case fits and has no problem with camera and volume button placement due to its way it fits. That is why this gives a very thin and sleek solution for a case but it won't come cheap.
The VersasleeveX fits perfectly (w and w/o keydock)
For the record the 700 Blurex case DOES NOT FIT. Too small and when I muscled it on the power and volume keys are covered by the case making them inaccessible.
Since this thread has not been updated with any cases that fit the TF701T, we'd like to make a statement. Our case was released a while ago for the TF701T and fits perfectly. No ports are blocked, or the camera. Most TF700T cases won't fit for the following reasons:
1) they do not have the proper width adjustment
2) speaker hole alignment
3) microSD card placement.
Those are the key problem areas and differences between the TF700T and TF701T. We may be the first and only company to support this tablet thus far aside from ill fitting universal solutions. TF700T on xda fans know us by name and you can check that by our great ratings on amazon.
I won't paste a link to our case as XDA doesn't really want companies to sell on here. But you can easily find us by searching 'TF701T case' on Amazon, Google, or simply PERFECTO PRO . Our website (caseen.com) however does give xda members 5% off with code xdaforums
Some tight fit cases like the Folio Blurex even though it's pretty open all the way around, the top right corner will press on the power button and cause the tablet to cold boot. Also it is a very very tight fit.
Forgot to mention the speaker hole cut out doesnt line up so that get covered and muffled.
Noreve just launched its case for the TF701.
Here for Dutch users the website who has them on stock:
http://www.tabletcenter.nl/product/...s-transformer-tf701-vivo-tab-dock-qwerty.html
I will get mine tomorrow when exchanging my second TF701 for the third one without (I hope) the dock connection problems due to a complete new batch where the problem should be solved.

Well they'll fit kind of - probably a bit tight but all the button and connector cutouts will be in the wrong places so it will just piss you off.
Any good deal for Case for tf701t?
Thanx in advance

Transcover - the official Asus one. Only one I tried. Loved the 2 origami folding positions and magnetic open/close too
I hate folio leather cases with a passion. I think they look truly awful.
