Anyone tried Ghost Armor? - G2 Accessories

Either the full body matte or carbon finish? I'd like to see how it looks if anyone's got pics and if they're satisfied with it.
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk

One thing ppl say that they don't like about GA is that the side coverings leave a lot of gaps and they don't look good, but seeing as our phone really has no sides, I'm wondering if they even have those pieces in the full body set, if its just a front and back piece that basically connects at the sides
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk

I have the clear on on my RAZR Maxx. The sides have to be replaced every 3 months. The screen protector has to be replaced ever 4-6 months.

I had ghost armor on my Samsung Galaxy s3 and I only had to replace it once due to me getting a replacement s3. It stayed in great shape but mostly because I used the armor with a urban armor gear case on top of it. Screen protection is really good on it and you can't even tell it's on there

I second this.
I don't the the full body portion is all that great, in terms of durability, but the screen protector is really good. My first choice in screen protection.

I put it on my old Galaxy Nexus and peeled it off after a week. Can't stand the "orange peel" feeling to it.

I also have it on my s3, its a little dingy looking now but it does work really well
Sent from my G2 using xda app-developers app

I use to work there (don't anymore, so no bias) but while their skins are a bit expensive, they're very high quality and the life time warranty makes it worth it where you can go to any ghost armor cart or online and get your old skin replaced.
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk

I put ghost armor on all my devices. I ask them not to put it so close to the edge that a case pulls it up. On the g2 the guy wasn't sure he could since it pretty much doesn't have a bezel. Turned out great. On my girl friends G pro, it isn't even looks like crap. But her keys or change in pocket are scratching her screen
Sent from my LG-D801 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I had It on my DROID DNA. It, the carbon, was quite slick.
I've converted to exoskin and they're great. They don't make a screen protector though.

Not that kind of protection...but for your N7. I was wondering who uses a screen protector, a case, both or neither.

Protector and skin for back and sides.
Makes no practical change to looks, size or weight and cost about the fiver, so is common sense imo

It is slippery but this is a great case. For my taste it is thin enough amd really sturdy. Highly recommended.
I've currently got the Samsung hard cover and I like it other than the glossy back panel, I had the glacier commuter on my white s3 and I really liked it.

same with me as well. I have the samsung cover and kind of want the commuter but I am worry about the thickness and bulkines it adds to the note.
I have a Speck , Samsung protective cover and the Otterbox commuter. I prefer the Commuter overall. I have the White N2 with black Commuter and like the look. Btw I had a Defender and hated it. Way too much bulk for me.

I used to use the original Samsung protective cover, but a month ago I dropped my phone in the bathroom and cracked my screen. have to replace them for 120$. now I'm using Otterbox defender and it protects my phone from a few big drops, but the included screen protector is really bad. anyway if I have to purchase a case again, an Otterbox commuter would be really good in protecting your precious phone. it adds some bulk, but it feels really comfortable in the hand, and you don't have to feel worried about your phone anymore.

This case is only good for protection from scratches. While using this case I dropped my Note 2 from 2 feet onto pavement and the screen cracked. The case is great if you want something very slim but I wouldn't trust it for drop protection. The casemate tough case is also very slim but provides 10 times more protection.

Yep, read another post with someone dropping their phone using this case and it shattered the screen. It's slim and protects from scratches, but next to nothing drop protection.
+1 for Case-Mate Tough as one of the slimmest cases with a drop protection on par with other cases twice of it's thickness.
awesome!

I have the aluminum button from spigen over the home button for that very reason.
Back to this case to be honest I didn't even think it looked all that great. The back is an absolute grease and finger print magnet.
After getting my phone replaced I tried out the seidio surface case (which I liked, good kickstand) before finally settling on the casemate tough case. It seems to be the perfect marriage of slimness and protection. Although I'm probably going to order the seidio convert case add on for the surface case I already own for those trips where I might want additional protection.

It comes in 3 colors for 10 bucks. Actually the black and silver look very nice, much better than stock and I actually prefer the tactile feel. It has a very nice metallic spiral design. I was concerned about the button moving around but after 3 weeks so far the adhesive is very good. I'd recommend it especially if you have a Verizon note 2.

I had a slim case on my N2 once, a Nilkin one but pretty much the same design as this one.
Then I dropped my phone whilst getting out the car, and now I have a dirty great big crack across the bottom of my screen. No insurance...
Now I have my phone in an Otterbox, with a film screen protector to hopefully stop the crack getting worse. I has a very big sad.
Do yourself a favour, avoid slim cases as they're worse than useless. They give a false sense of security that WILL be shattered, along with your screen, when you drop it. If you're going for a case, get something that PROTECTS!
That's exactly what I just wrote in another thread for Case-Mate Tough. If you want a super slim case, great grip, and durable corner protection to give you a piece of mind - there is no better choice but Tough case.

Just got mine in today, ordered on Wednesday.
I'm surprised that it came with 3 instead of the 2 that's advertised.
I also like that it doesn't cover the front sensors
I'll see if I have enough time to put one on today. Hopefully it fits with the diztronic.

How does this protector feel? Does it feel plasticy or more like glass?
I'm curious to know as well
Okay so I just put this on my phone.
I'm hating how LG design the curved edges of the screen right now.
I have the oleophobic ones and they are cut out correctly for the phone, but **** man. You have to be a surgeon to not have any bubbling edges, and that's due to the curved edges of the screen.
I managed to get mine in with only a bit of the top bubbling up, but it doesn't worry me as my hopefully prevents it from coming up.
The Diztronic fits good with the screen protector and doesn't post the edges up.
It feels a bit sticky, but that is something common for the first few days. I'll report back after I get the stickiness off the protector
Clarity is great, screen looks pretty much the same as before.
My only gripe with the screen protector is that there's a bubble that isn't any dust that is on the bottom right of the screen. I'm hoping it goes away after some use and settling.
Edit: I forgot to mention that it doesn't cover any sensors, so there's not problem with knock on/off.
Also, after some use the stickiness is already coming off and it now feels much smoother.

So far the feel is in between glass and plastic. It feels much better than plain plastic, but sometimes gets the squeakiness of plastic when your finger is sliding around

Just got mine in today. I can now swype with a clean screen! The bare glass is a bit sticky for swyping but this screen protector is great.
After a day I take back the stickyness. Its very close to bare glass. After a little greasing up she's slick but after a good cleaning its hard to swype because the finger sticks.
I'll be sticking with it for sure though because it fits very good with my DualPro and TPU case. No it doesn't cover the curved edges but I think my case would peel back a screen protector like that.
I really love the feeling of the G2s screen and hate putting on a screen protector but this one is as close as I'll get to that silky feeling I think.

What case to buy?

I was wondering if someone who has had a chance to use these cases in the real world, what would you recommend?
I work in construction (often from rooftops and ladders from which my OG EVO had its demise) and I need a case that can give my M8 a decent chance at survival.
However I also don't wish to sacrifice functionality.
I owned an otterbox Defender for my EVO LTE, but dragging down the status bar was a huge pain, and the screen protector was so scratched that I removed it and simply added a film cover.
So, anyone got any good ideas?

Well I grabbed a defender for my m8, it seems more streamlined than the evo lte version, I can tell you that you won't have a problem dragging the status bar though.
I always kick out the built-in protectors, imo they end up doing more harm than good in the long run.

Would you say the otterbox Defender is the best? And how bulky and how easy is it to remove? It will get banged up so I tend to use something else on the weekends. Been actually thinking about trying the Commuter or UAG this time.

Well i originally went into the store to repair my cracked screen for my EvoLTE and insurance cost $100 for replacement... Well needless to say I got angry about the THREE replacement phones in 5 days and the store manager hooked me up with some major discounts including a zero downpayment on my M8 a commuter series case MSRP $39.98 here All i had to pay was sales tax on the phone $34.99, and $2.09 sales tax on case... So really i lost like $10 but its a win win for me in my eyes... I also traded in my EvoLTe got $25 out of it... Hence the reason i got the huge discounts...
So i just got lucky on a $2 case...i think they coded it as the cheapest case they could aswell... Just ask them if there is any kind of discounts they can give doesnt hurt to ask!

I work in construction. A lot of times I'm a roofer. And most days I have my phone (not this one til I find the right case lol) in a pouch in my toolbelt hanging out with nails, prybars, and other items that would love to beat the crap outta my m8.
My og evo took it's demise from a slide down a roof, teetered on a gutter, then a quadruple backflip to the cement about 20 feet down with nothing but a plastic $10 case.
Since then I've had Defender cases. haven't had that happen again, but I hate how bulky it is. And the shield is almost worthless to me after a week on the job it's completely scratched up and the holster is too much trouble clipping on and off while working in the real world.
Anyway I appreciate your help but I'm I'd really like to know if anyone had something they thought was as durable and possibly less bulky.

Not if your in construction or any similar conditions.
I have a case mate naked tough which provides as much protection as the commuter I recently returned but looks much nicer.
I've considered the defender because I too work in industrial construction and my M8 is exposed to dust and dirt and a lot of adverse conditions..
I'd really like a lifeproof style option (waterproof , more importantly dustproof, and still stylish).
I'm the guy you want to here from. I work with at&t and am up and down poles and on the occasional rooftop as well. Suffice to say I can beat up my devices too.......plus I'm a case fanatic. I have a UAG, a Defender, and the Incipio Dual being sold by Verizon. Those are my 3 toughest cases as I also have the SUPCase with frosted back and the clear KaysCase.
It sounds like you need the Defender. It offers hands down the best protection of all my cases and is much more streamlined than previous Defender cases. Its just slightly bulkier than the UAG but has the added holster you can keep it in with the screen covered in your tool belt.
