Early stage guide for Kit Kat 4.4 | Please read before posting in Kit Kat ROM threads
************************************************** ***************************************************
Hi there,
As we get more and more Kit Kat ROMs I've decided to create this thread. In every ROM thread, the same questions are asked so I think it would be useful to collect the most important questions into a central location so the other threads don’t become tedious and difficult to read. If I forgot something or you have any suggestions, please let me know.
@moderators
If I'm in the wrong section please move my thread.
If there is a similar thread (I didn't find one) please close this one.
UPDATE: kk 4.4 factory image out now
hangouts and messaging are in. the normal email app is in too. Don't know if it's the aosp one.
for new google launcher:
1. Google Search http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...y-fixes-gel-on-tablets-and-more-apk-download/
2. Experience Launcher http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...once-you-get-your-kitkat-update-apk-download/
Install in this order the goto 16
after that it looks like the n5 port.
1. Features
All currently available builds are in an early state. This means that a lot of the customization you had in 4.3 ROMs are not available at the moment. The devs are working on it.
2. What isn’t working in all 4.4 ROMs
Binaries released. So everything should working.
3. Dalvik Runtime and ART
A new feature has been implemented in Kit Kat called ART (Android Runtime). What is it? Take a look at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2516303
credits to: @freebordjunky
4. Which one should I choose?
It's your own decision! ART is faster than Dalvik from my personal experience. You can switch between runtimes:
settings -> developer options -> select runtime
5. Does ART have any requirements?
Yes. Two important things you should notice:
a.)
If you switch to ART you have to reboot. During the reboot, your device switches from using Dalvik Runtime to ART. This may take a while.
IMPORTANT
You may have a lot FC 's in GAPPS. Why? This happens when you have flashed the wrong GAPPS package. To work properly you have to flash an Odex GAPPS package. You will find this here from @#gnome: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2508185
If you want to know more about odex and deodex - ask google
b.)
Some apps are still not working on ART and no known workaround is available. Three apps that I know of are Foursquare, Whatsapp and Titanium Backup (tested 6.10).
WhatsApp Workaround credits to @luiseteyo :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2527879
6. GAPPS packages
There are different packages available. It’s all up to preference.
Deodex
1. AOSP launcher and stock Messaging
2. Google Experience Launcher and Hangouts for SMS
Odex (ART)
1. AOSP launcher and stock Messaging
2. Google Experience Launcher and Hangouts for SMS
7. Is this faster than…
Sorry guys. How do I score this? Every configuration is different and so often there are individual experiences so... try, try, try until you find the right one for you.
8. Custom kernels
Binaries released. So kernels will come.
IMPORTANT
If you have screen issues, flash the CM colorfix. It's available here on xda, just use search.
9. SMS & Hangouts
To import SMS from other ROMs, first restore messages using TiBu or SMS Backup & Restore to the AOSP Messaging app. After this you can activate Hangouts as the default SMS app. It should then import your messages. Maybe it's necessary to clear hangout's cache after that.
10. Factory images and binaries
Released
11. Errors during flashing
If you got errors during flashing you have to try another custom recovery. In TWRP there were some problems with version 2.6.3. Upgrade to the latest version (2.6.3.2) to get rid of the errors.
TWRP here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/mako
12. Is Viper audio working?
Yes. It may be necessary to uninstall musicfx and / or dsp manager.
Please use chainfire's supersu for viper audio. You have to enable compatible mode in viper.
13. Icons are big
You can change this via build.prop editor. Edit this entry: ro.sf.lcd_density
Play Store Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.nathan.jf.build.prop.editor
14. Enable Google Now
Press long and hold on a free area on your homescreen.Select Settings and enable Google Now
15. Dalvik Optimization
From Moto X device extracted dalvik optimization binaries. It will increase speed.

Notice:
Many devs will start their work officially when Google releases the correct binaries. Before then take what you can get and be patient.
I hope this helps all of you out there and cleans up the threads a little bit.
Big thanks to @meijin3 for translation help! Thank you man!

Custom kernels are available. With old binaries. This means not every kernel developer will release his work until google publish the new binaries.

sorry can't find the mistake in this old comment
Dev's are working on it. Some Kernels are available from some dev's. For example from @anarkia1976
Important
If you have screen issues - flash the cm colorfix. It's available here on xda. Use searching

I have disconnect bluetooth issues when streaming in the car. Pebble keeps reconnecting every 15 mins or so. I live on bluetooth because of these two things. In every 4.4 port/rom, it's the same missing libs IMO. So no go for me for now. I am getting a N5, in a few weeks, but wanted to check out KK. Other than the BT issue, the port is a great port! Smooth, and launcher works perfectly! But because of my need of BT I have revered back to my PA 3.99 since last night and BT connection hasn't discoed at all since then.

Thank you !
Enviado desde la muerte a través de un Nexus4

I am getting BT drops as well. Seems to be after leaving the screen off for a while. It reconnects as soon as turn the screen back on.
I have also had quite a few dropped calls but can't be certain that this wasn't the network.

Thanks for the tips on how to get ART working. I've honestly never used Android with this smoothness before, it's amazing.
You should use bold fonts for the title so more people will notice.

[ROM] Official CM7 Inc Nightlies

CM7.1 Nightlies
A friendly reminder from slayher:
"Everyone needs to remember that the CM team has made no releases yet. It's labeled RC0, and new code is going in everyday. Sometimes things are going to break, sometimes features are going to be removed, then added, then removed, then added back. Sometimes regular apps may just not work (adfree) because this a new version of android using new and updated API's. Keep that in mind. To the CM team, you are flashing ALPHA software. Not beta, not a Release Candidate.
Just to restate some stuff to the people who didn't read the entire Crackflashers' Thread.
This kernel has been patched with a backport of the .35 kernel in order for USB tethering and mounting to work. Flash a different kernel, and those features break. Period.
Second, the kernel that is provided is what we have found to be the most capable, but most stable kernel for the most people. We are not using highly customized kernels with every acronym you can think of because we are going for maximum compatibility.
Third, make sure you have updated HBOOT (.92), radio images (2.15 series). The newer seem to be working much better.
Fourth, if you hate this and think it's slow, great, don't use it. If you love it, and think it's the best thing to happen to your phone, great, use it. The point here is choice, run what ROM has the features and speed you want. If you want these features, but something isn't working for you, ask for help from others running the ROM. And don't forget it's still ALPHA."

FAQ
Q: What's the ETA on....about how long till...when can I expect....?
A: The only rule of CyanogenMod: You don't ask for ETAs.
Q: Now that the Ice Cream Sandwich SDK has dropped, we're getting a port, right?!
A: Take a look at this PSA by Keyan Mobil
Q: What's this CM7.1, Android 2.3.7 business?
A: The nightlies are built on CM7.1, which is Android 2.3.7, while the RC's (so far) are built on Android 2.3.3. Do NOT downgrade without a full wipe.
Q: How do I install CM7, coming from non-CM7?
A: From ciwrl, Head Moderator at http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/ "As we start the RC phase of CM7, many of you are now taking the leap from CM6 stable to the new RC's. Some of you may be able to get away with doing this without a wipe; however, most of you will not be that lucky. Differences in the rom, files system, and even Google Addons will likely throw most of you into boot loops. Therefore, here is my recommended upgrade path:
1) Nandroid backup your current rom
2) Update your recovery to the latest available (CWR is my choice)
3) Format system via recovery
4) Wipe/Factory reset
5) Flash CM7 then Google addon
If any of you have data that you must absolutely save, then and only then should you use Titanium backup (or other backup apps) to restore your data. Please be sure not to restore any data to /system using these apps, as this will mostly likely corrupt your ROM and/or Market."
Granted the above method says from CM6 to CM7, but it pretty much applies to any non-CM7 to CM7.
Q: How do I update from RC to nightly, stable to nightly, nightly to nightly, (basically, forwards) etc?
A: The safest (definitely not the only, but my preferred) way is
Download ROM with Rom Manager Premium.
Do not install with Rom Manager
Reboot into recovery.
Make a backup/nandroid (to be safe)
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik
Install Zip from SDCard
Nightly at /sdcard/clockworkmod/download/mirror.teamdouche.net/get/inc/
/Gapps at sdcard/clockworkmod/download/goo-inside.me/google-apps/
Reboot
Enjoy
Q: How about that 720P? I hear it's handy.
A: Per slayher, "720P recording will not be coming to CM7 at this time. We *MAY* see it later if we get an HTC GB leak, using an MSM device (aka not omap). But for now, if you HAVE to have 720P recording, stick with CM6. The issue is that GB uses stagefright, and the hack it took to get 720p in CM6 wont work with stagefright. (it was done in opencore.) This is why we cant get it. The current driver implementation we have to work with is just not capable. So there you go, you can stop wondering/asking/hoping."
Q: How about CWM3/5? I'm having a problem where....
A: Try deleting the current recovery first.
Q: How do I fix the space error that pops up when I try to install some apps?
A: Per slayher, "If you get a Space error trying to install apps, just try installing again. I have encountered this error also and it is not related to actual free space, (unless you have a cubic crap ton (crapton * crapton * crapton) of apps installed)."
Q: How do I disable the shutter sound?
A: Per mattyg151, "I used root explorer to rename /system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg to camera_click!.ogg ... no more camera shutter sound."
There is also an option at Menu > Settings > CyanogenMod setting > Sound > Mute camera shutter
Q: How do I increase the WiFi scan time to save battery life?
A: Per karnovaran, "One way to reduce battery drain is to increase the WiFi scan interval. It's set to 45 seconds, meaning it will scan every 45 seconds. If you change it to something like 90, obviously it will scan less often and use less battery. To do this, you have to edit the build.prop file in /system. The easiest way is with Root Explorer. Go to /system, mount r/w, open the build.prop in text editor and locate "wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=45" Change that value to 90 or whatever you want. Save the file, mount back to r/o, and reboot."
Q: Those automatic brightness settings are confusing. Anyone know of a good setting/rough guide?
A: This thread looks useful. So does this post
Q: How does that brightness slider thingey-majib work?
A: Per byrong "For those of you trying to figure out the new brightness-adjust-via-statusbar feature, do the following:
1. Settings > CM Settings > Interface > Status Bar Tweaks > StatusBar brightness (I'm guessing you guys already figured this part out)
2. Here's the trick: place your finger on the status bar, but don't drag it down. It will still 'peek' out some, but now you'll want to slowly drag your finger to the left or right while keeping it on the status bar itself. If you drag left, the screen will get darker; right for bright."
Q: I can't send no fancy mms picture messages!
A: Change you APN settings manually, (a popular way is to use GoSMS). MMSC: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms MMS proxy: leave empty MMS port: 80 Any more I should add? Let me know.
Q: My bluetooth isn't working right.
And what does Mr. CUViper have to say about it?
For a fix, CUViper made a patch, and I added it to the stock cm kernel, and here's the 10/08 incredikernel: 2.6.38.8-incredikernel-gb-11042011.zip
If you need it on a different kernel, let me know.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Credits/Thanks
All credit goes to the CM team, and especially our DInc maintainers, as listed by the CyanogenMod site: jistone (aka CUViper), slayher, and of course, Koush.
Also, a huge thanks goes to sykopompos (formerly gridlock32404) for hosting the unofficial nightly/hourly "Crackflasher Builds" and keeping the crackflashers happy with 4+ builds a day. Good times, good times.
Anyone I miss?
Sheesh these are slow downloads
I assume they are getting hit pretty hard. Anyways, hooray! Can't wait to use these CM7 has been one of the greatest ROMs for me so far
Isn't the only major issue the 720p on the camcorder and the lack of hardware acceleration?
I haven't been using the earlier builds, but I'm downloading the nightly right now.
Thanks for getting the discussion started, PonsAsinorem. I think this thread sounds like a good idea, especially if you'll be dedicated to update information (ROM status, fixes, scripts, known issues, etc). Based on your involvement in the crackflasher thread, I'd bet you'll do a good job ;-)
My vote is to keep this thread going

Now that the official build bot is up, and gridlock said he would quit building, I figured I'd start a new thread based on the "new" nightlies. In the OP, I will attempt to keep track of mods, themes, kernels and bugs for CM7.

And the overall progress of the build bot

[DISCUSSION][Q&A] MIUI Builds

I have made this thread as a common thread for all the builds out there, currently, two. One is the russian build and other is the miuiandroid build.
You can discuss here the bugs and ask questions about the bugs you have been facing. Hoping this thread would be a productive one and help the MIUI builds get more stable.
I'm in process of adding the links and making a FAQ for the MIUI v5 ROMs.
Those, who are having sim card PIN issues:
1. Be on any non-miui android rom(if you are on miui - reinstall rom to any cm/stock etc).
2. Go into the settings app > security & privacy > setup SIM card lock > disable "lock sim card"(atleast that's how the path looks on miui).
3. Install miui rom (follow specific roms guide).
For those having GPS issues:
1. Install "russian v3" miui rom (should be > here, has got gapps/franco kernel preinstalled) <, since this is the first and the only one (so far) rom that makes the gps sensor work on my nexus (might be not required on newer roms)).
2. Go into "google settings" app(not the default android app, instead the one which looks like this: this or this ) > Location > disable and reenable the "Access Location".
Gps should work after this.
For those, who are missing e-mail application:
Download it from > here.
Missing ROOT permissions?
1. Go into "System and Security" folder on desktop > Permissions.
2. Select "Root" > Enable "Enable Permission manager".

Thanks for putting this together! I was starting to get lost trying to keep up with 2 ROM builds along with all of the patches. I had a hell of a time yesterday when I flashed the version in the OP. Stupid me forgot to disable PIE in PA so when I flashed MIUI I didn't have any navigation buttons at the bottom, doh! I spent quite a while just trying to flash PA back so I could fix that. So, currently I'm back to PA and taking notes so I can flash the Russian version successfully today, fingers crossed.

I'm on Russianv3 and for some reason my phone isn't working lol. I mean, I can open up the phone app, make and receive calls. No dialing tone nor sound when talking.
Although when flashing a ROM like lets say, Euroskank's ROM, it works fine.
I'm guessing I'm flashing this incorrectly?

I restored mine from backup, not sure where it comes from really, but i guess most likely it is from new hangouts(talk)/google+ or less likely from google play music.

Flashed a different ROM on, and the phone works fine.
I think it's the process of how I'm flashing?
Wipe Factory/Cache -> Install ROM -> Wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache -> Reboot.

Detailed Instructions of flashing are here: Install MIUI V5 ROM on the Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus
I've come up with a hypothesis.
The Russian version of MIUI uses Franco's kernel, which contains a modified ram-disk. I've been trying to flash the latest Franco Kernel on top of that, which causes it to stick at the boot logo.
The only people that I've seen successfully flash another kernel on top of the Russian Version are using either Harsh's or Faux's Kernels, both of which (I believe) don't touch the ramdisk. I'm going to try to flash both Faux's and Harsh's kernels, as well as others that don't modify the ramdisk.
If this works, then it means that the tweaks that the kernel needs to boot (or at least some of them), reside in the ramdisk.

Here's how I flashed. First, in TWRP, I did advanced wipe (system, dalvik, cache, data), and then a factory reset. Then I flashed build 3 (three) of the russian MIUI, and without rebooting, flashed the kernel I wanted to test. I then wiped cache and dalvik one more time, and rebooted.

| ROM | AOSP | Odexed | 4.3 | MAKO | JSS15Q | Perfect Android 4.3.3 | 8-29-2013

This is a simple AOSP rom that I'm maintaining for myself and sharing with the community.
Perfect Android is built with the idea of being simple and stable for your Android device.
Based off of Android Open Source Project code, features and fixes are introduced with each build.
If you are looking for something that is more feature developed I would suggest BAMF, CyanogenMOD, AOKP, or ParaniodAndroid, that offers more.
Feature list:
- Full Google experience
- Chrome and AOSP browsers
- Odexed System and Frameworks
- "Clear all" button on recent apps
- Option to remove persistant search bar in Launcher
- Expanded Desktop
- Reboot menu
- Power menu Screenshot
- Long press back to kill app
- Volume Button music controls
- Volume Button wake
- Fully customizable Power menu options, which include option to add or remove items
Instructions:
First time flashing device, or coming from another ROM?
Download the zip(s).
Optional: adb backup
Fastboot oem unlock > fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
Wipe data & cache partitions of your device (required when coming from stock!).
Flash ROM.
ROM: Link
G-Apps (included): At this time there are no "official" g-apps available so I've included what you get stock.
Root (optional): SuperSU v1.51
Source: Link
Follow the above link for the complete source to make your own changes or to completely debug down to the core of the rom also follow my github for detailed changes.
Always remember that XDA started out as a great place and will remain a great place as long as we are great to each other anything used in this ROM is available upon request and feel free to use this as a base rom for any other project.
WANT TO CUSTOMIZE THIS ROM READ THIS:
Want to add or remove anything or customize for yourself use DSIXDA's Kitchen. Its a great kitchen for customizing prebuilt ROMs.
Looks nice. Thanks for sharing.

I was sitting around waiting for your clean AOSP rom to drop. Never cease to amaze me.
(P.S. When did it become a necessity to post negative opinions...If people don't have something to offer don't post.)
Jak's been around since 2007 and been doing great stuff for a long time...a name is just a name for a ROM.
Awesome ! A new clean rom to play

Hello @jakdillard,
Your ROM looks good, gonna flash it later on. Thanks for sharing it with us.
What about Gapps? The official Gapps is packed my Google itself? I though those zips were community-made.
Any idea when they'll release it?
Thanks for sharing the ROM with us. Downloading it now.
Hi Jak
I can suggest something simple and useful?
Possibility to volumes (ring and notifications) to be unlinked and sound preferences.
Tks. :good:
@jakdillard,
I just flashed it, and it's a really nice ROM! The smoothest 4.3 I've tried.
Do you have any plans to add "Volume button wake" into this?
Thanks.
Thank you very much jakdillard!! I really appreciate a nice clean source built 4.3 ROM, and this looks "perfect" to me . I Also greatly appreciate all you're previous work. Thanks a bunch

Don't do this. This ROM is for a Nexus 4 - you could flash it using clockwork but it would leave your phone non-functional until you flash a rom that is intended to be used with your device.
Similarly, filling your fuel-tank with custard is unlikely to enhance your car's performance.
Google just told me there's an xda thread with some firmware for your device here, though it's 4.2.1 rather than 4.3
I have tried all the ROM's available for my device... i was looking for something different...

5/11/13[ROM][GT-N8020-P4NOTELTEXX][JB][4.3] CM10.2 nightlies PORT (Sbrissen)

Hi all,
Sbrissen and darkman kindly allowed me the use of their hard work to port CM10.2 rom to our N8020. These have recently become nightly official builds thanks to Sbrissen whose work it is I am porting.
At this time there is no way to add tablet mode..but I will look into it.
Head on over to the original threads to say thanks and/or donate and just hit the button for me as I don't do donations.
here's Sbrissens original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2413149
Also, thanks darkman for his install script which I modified the UI messages on and this uses the original optus modem software from my stock tablet rom.
Many thanks to @wwwcase for finding the fix to the apn and play store bugs and to @Simon94 for his very real dev work on our device
Please remember I am not a dev and have only modified the basic stuff to work on our variation of the note 10.1 and as such will ignore requests. I have a very busy real life and will only keep up with original releases at my own pace.
Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for bad things that may occur as a result of flashing this.
From the original thread...
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
INSTRUCTIONS
First time installing CyanogenMod 10.2 to your Galaxy Note 10.1 N8020, or coming from another ROM:
- Read known issues ans FAQs
- Flash the latest official ClockworkMod-Recovery
- Copy GApps and CM10.2 ZIPs to your SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CM10.2 zip from SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from SDCard
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)
- Reboot
- Don't restore system data using Titanium Backup!
- Restoring Apps + Data might cause problems and is not recommended, avoid it if possible!
Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 10.2:
- Copy CM10.2 ZIP to your SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CM10.2 zip from SDCard
- Reboot
BUGS
-no way to enable tablet ui which is being phased out anyway (doh).
-Occasional graphic glitches loading apps (minor).
-let me know
-no pie controls working
-no torch working

SU should be fixed now (thanks to Sbrissen) but if you have any problems you need to do a couple of things to activate it.
Activate the developer options menu item and thus activate the menu item for the USB debugging, you have to open your phone’s settings menu. Then navigate to the “About phone” settings page. There you will find a sub-item called “build number”. If you click 7 times on the build number item, the developer options will be unlocked. After successful activation you will find the item developer options in the usual place in the Android settings menu. To enable superuser active, switch on usb debugging and make sure root access is set for apps and adb. Reboot may be necessary. Your root should be back now!
PLEASE HIT THANKS IF I HELPED

After using it for some days I recognized the following things:
1. App flashlight does not work
2. Cyanogen File Manager: ONLY "Save rights" are available in preferences (grey)
Superuser access and rooting works and I have done all the other couple of things to activate it.
3. Is there any possibility to use samsung keyboard? Its not implemented and I don´t know, which files and APK´s are necessary

Smooth Scrolling Mod for Nexus 4 - give your Nexus a new lease of life!

I found this over at the OnePlus One section, and it originated from Nexus 5 section. Would be good to see such a mod for Nexus 4 (especially for stock AOSP 4.4.4) to give it a new lease of life until ART becomes official in Android L as some of us need to stay on Dalvik for Xposed to work. I don't personally use the N4 any more but still believe it to be a fantastic phone.
What this mod does:
AndroidON said:
- Some android applications have some lag when they scroll.
I found in logcat that garbage collector is working to much when I do some scroll in application.
I googled about it and found the 'scrollingcache' function inside android making problem.
Some application developers recommend disable 'scrollingcache' in app's internal config.
But not all applications have disabled scrollingcache.
So the mod I'll do will disable the scrollingcache throughout the Android OS.
All apps will have no problem with scrollingcache.
I've had scrolling improvements with facebook, playerpro, poweramp, gallery apps , etc.
Click to collapse
It consists in decompiling/smali edits/re-compiling the framework.jar file (/system/framework).
Maybe Dalvik runtime users will see a benefit, more than the ART runtime users..., I noticed an improvement in scrolling in G+, Play Store and Root Explorer for example when there is a long list of files to scroll for example.
User feedbacks seem to be positive too...

The Framework.jar modification is ROM specific, there are already Madhi/Purity mods for the N5 - some Madhi users have reported it works for their N4 too.
Note:
We could use a few more contributors/developers assigned to maintain this mod for single or several ROMs, it would save one person being inundated with requests for specific ROMs. This may also get slightly out of hand with requests for nightly ROMs, but we'll see.

Just tried this stock zip and booted up Android, it wanted to optimize all my apps again which was a bit odd (didn't see this happen on my OPO), and I'm still seeing GC_CONCURRENT activity in catlog while using apps, so I don't think it worked. Hope that helps!
p.s. in TWRP the zip message stated it was for Vanir ROM?
Can you make it for Purity 8/08 pls?
What modifications were made to classes.dex? I noticed 3 of the edits detailed at http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...roll-stock-t2617050/post49582206#post49582206 were not in /android/widget/AbsListView.smali
I went to try it myself with baksmali and smali and replacing classes.dex in framework.jar but I'm not having any luck with that either
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28241302&postcount=5 - classes decompile/compile guide. Winrar also works for extracting classes.dex out of framework.jar

Thanks. Works flawlessly with the unofficial @KcLKcL cm11 builds.
Slimkat b7
If someone wants to try it for Slimkat b7. I guess there is some difference, but might just be placebo.
First scroll in Play Store is still laggy, as its loading stuff, after that I think its a bit smoother.
I have tested this but still:

You can always confirm if garbage collection is on using catlog, it will spam GC_CONCURRENT or similar.
