Butterfly S and hboot/baseband versions - HTC Butterfly S

I've been searching and working on a device through team viewer for three hours but couldn't find what I need so I'm giving in and posting a thread.
I'm trying to find out if an unlocked HTC Butterfly S has been given the OTA treatment yet. It's got hboot 1.54 and everything I did to take it to stock with the old rom build left a modified system error, and on the new rom back to stock it says all is current.
I'm not sure if it's seeing modified on the old build because it's a new hboot and baseband and old rom and has already been updated but I even briefly looked through some old kernel source for reference to the firmware and hboot and couldn't find anything.
Can someone with an OTA updated (1.23) or non OTA updated (1.11) tell me what their hboot version is?

As I remember, hboot didn't change at all - it's the same version 1.54 both for 1.11 and 1.23 roms.

[Q] Unable to install latest Telstra RUU

Hi all,
I'm having issues trying to restore the latest Telstra RUU and I'm hoping someone will be able to give me a hand with this.
I originally unlocked the bootloader, flashed a CWM recovery, custom ICS ROM, and all was working fine.
I've decided to go back to stock Telstra release but every time I try running the RUU I get an error message saying ERROR [140]: BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR.
From what I've read, this relates to the bootloader being newer then that included in the RUU. I'm not sure how accurate this is though so if someone could confirm, that would be great. If I do need to downgrade the bootloader, where do I get it from?
The RUU's I've tried flashing are from here: http://www.filefactory.com/f/002b74e0f4775869/
- RUU_HOLIDAY_SENSE3_5_Telstra_WWE_2.27.841.6_Radio_3.01.4720.09_34.06.701020.02_release_231121_signed.exe

Neither of these work and both show the same error as indicated above.

If anyone can provide any assistance getting this phone back to stock Telstra release it would be greatly appreciated. I've been working on it for almost 6-8 hours now and seem to be going around in circles.
Thank you! :good:
You need to relock your boot loader to run an ruu
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
Sorry, I forgot to mention that. The bootloader has been relocked.
What hboot do you have currently?
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
As above, HBOOT-1.85.0029.
I've managed to flash Velocity² "Nightly Build 5" which is as close to stock as I can get for the time being. Phone is working fine.
I can't seem to find any information at all regarding updating the HBOOT though, and what small information I do come across, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I don't even know if 1.85.0029 is the latest. Whether I need to upgrade/downgrade it before the RUU will work which some information I've found seems to suggest.
You shouldn't have to change the hboot to be able to run the ruu. Did you unlock your bootloader again to flash the new Rom?
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
I did unlock the bootloader again to flash the new rom, only becasue the RUU wouldn't flash. I've tried flashing the RUU with the bootloader locked and unlocked even though I know it needs to be locked. I've tried flashing the RUU while using both a GB rom and an ICS rom - just incase it makes it difference - it didn't.
I've never had this much trouble flashing an RUU before - it's ridiculous.
You cannot flash an RUU with a lower main version or lower hboot version than what is currently on your phone unless you are S-OFF.

What do you mean by main version?
HBOOT version is 1.85.0029. How can tell if the RUU is lower? If I need to upgrade or downgrade the hboot, where do I find the info on this?
I have read that if the hboot is lower then that of the RUU I wont be able to run it but I could never find any information about how to upgrade/downgrade hboot nor how to tell what version the RUU is.

Main version is the software number.
The one you see in Settings > About > Software Information.
The number should be on the RUU that you downloaded, it's the first set of numbers. for example: 3.25.841.4
How did you go with this, I am in the exact same boat. I want to sell my phone but not with this rom.
I was never able to install the stock Telstra RUU. Could never figure it out. After countless hours and at one stage thinking I'd bricked it, I gave up. I ended up sticking with this ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653317) which hasn't been too bad really.
I would still really love to restore it to factory but in all honesty I don't think it will ever happen.
I managed to extract the boot.img file from the RUU and am having a crack at building the ROM myself. If all is successful I will upload it to my dropbox account and link it.

Same here I'm now running Holics 1.3 very similar to stock with some nice addons etc
just s-off and then use that RUU
I can't find the RUU's any more. They have gone from File Factory. I've pretty much given up on trying to restore this to factory. I can't even find up to date information on how to S-OFF - and from memory it's got to be done via hardware hack of some sort? Not real keen on that idea.
That said, I'm looking at flashing CyanogenMod 10 4.1.2 ROM which I'd be more then happy with.
RUU
You might be looking for this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094150&highlight=ruu. I was having the same problem and what I did was find the exact/the same version of the RUU and the version of my phone.

s-off update to latest firmware, need some pointers

I have searched to forums under HTC one and cant find the info I am looking for. I want to upgrade my phone to latest ATT firmware that is available(or latest recommended file to use). How do I go about the process. I updated my radio to 4A.17.3250.20 my software version is still 1.26.502.12 Am i supposed to flash the corresponding RUU, if so will this flash a new hboot. I am s-off revone and latest TWRP installed. ATT HTC One Black 64gb. Thanks.
If I take the OTA update from ATT for the latest firmware will this replace my currant hboot and custom recovery, I dont want to loose s-off. I am coming from sprint htc phones and am not sure if the update process for firmware updates is the same, on sprint I could just bootloader flash lates firmware file. Would this be the same process for ATT version htc phones.

If you already are s-off, you will remain s-off after upgrading to latest firmware.
sent from my One.
You should be fine as long as your MID/CID weren't changed. Then you would need to change it back to whatever it was originally. Just don't switch to S-On.. you may not be able to get S-Off again

Thanks for the info guys, i am s-off stock ROM that came with the phone when i got it. I did not mess with CID just yet. I did have to revert back to htc stock recovery, update did not start up with TWRP.
problem with update
Okay, I took the OTA from ATT witch was around 225mb, it had a boot loop after install. When phone booted up an error said that update had problem and did not update correctly and I should wait for another update. My software number did change from 1.26.502.12 to .15 My WiFi will not turn one and camera app comes up for a second and vanishes from screen. I tried scanning for new update, says phone updated. How should i proceed now. Thanks for any pointers.

Hey man! what do you think about do the supercid, then flash the right Ruu, and start with a clear phone?
all is good
I could not find an ATT RUU for my phone on XDA but did find one off another forum. Ran the RUU and I am now back to stock. I did not loose my unlocked boot-loader or s-off. This time ATT OTA update came through with no problems.
My phones version radio is 4a.17.3250.20_10.40.1150.04L and software version 1.26.502.15 are these the latest available for att

Latest from AT&T, yes, but any of the international updates will work on your phone. Plenty of AT&T guys are running the the 4.3 leak with no problems.

You're s-off, you can install anything. Just flash the latest firmware from the firmware thread, then whatever rom you want. If you wait for AT&T, you won't see 4.3 until 2014.

That's not true, there will be RUUs for every single build HTC have made but most of them will never leaked into the public domain as they are meant for internal use only.
To the OP, there are no RUU available for download for the new HBOOTs yet. Besides, you don't check your HBOOT for the RUU, you check your software build as this is the obvious set of numbers to check when looking at RUUS

Strange thing is...for the One X the 4.2.2 RUU's were leaked after a few days (when 4.2.2 came out). For the One, 4.2.2 is out for a few months now, but still no RUU based on 4.2.2 / 1.54
Do you think they maybe dont excist for One and 4.2.2 / 1.54? (since, if leaking should be the problem....than they should not also be leaked for the One X)
Maybe only for the 4.3 update there will be a RUU?
There will be an RUU for it, it will just be kept internally for HTC's use only. Hopefully it will leak at some point but who knows
htc one unroot problem

[Q] How can I tell if it's possible to S-Off my phone?

So Wind Mobile just recently released their version of the HTC One on August 27th, 2013:
http://mobilesyrup.com/2013/08/23/wind-mobile-launching-the-htc-one-on-august-27th/
http://shop.windmobile.ca/ProductCatalog/Handsets/HandsetDetails.aspx?id=HTC+One(WINDCA)&color=green
From a little bit of researching, it seems like there are some prerequisites for performing S-Off. From what I've read, it seems to be the following:
Phone must be an older release as the newer hboots cannot be S-Off
If you are an older hboot, there are certain radios/firmware(?) that prevent S-Off in combination with the hboot
You must be on the stock rom
I'm worried that my new HTC One is too new to be able to S-Off as it was just released last week from the carrier. Also, because it was just released there are no RUU that can be used to downgrade the hboot(?). I'm assuming my understanding is correct.
As of right now, the phone is completely stock, no modifications have been made. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to perform the following:
Install CWM Recovery
How to make a generic Nandroid so that anyone that needs to go back to stock Wind Mobile can use it (since no RUU is released)
If S-Off is possible given the current hboot and radio/firmware combination currently installed.
How to SuperCID this phone
How to keep S-Off and install hboot 1.54/5
I appreciate any help, I've attached a picture of my bootloader to add more details into my inquiry.

How to Upgrade HTC ONE M7 SENSE 6 (Un-rooted, SuperCID) to Lollipop?

Hey! guys, I think I may need your help because I'm a little bit confused and I don't want to take any step further, that's why I'm asking here to insure that nothing goes wrong.
so recently, I've bought an HTC One M7 from a user that has used it for only one month, I've checked the device for any root operations made to the device with Root Check App from Google Play, but I didn't find any, means it's un-rooted.
this is the software information of the device:
Android Version: 4.4.3
HTC Sense Version: 6.0
Software Number: 6.09.401.5
HTC SDK API Level: 6.25
basic information when I'm in the boot Menu (by Holding both Volume & and Power Buttons):
-Locked
-S-OFF
-CID: 1111111 [I guess it's commonly known as SuperCID (whatever that means)]
here's my problem: I've had headaches for 2 days searching and digging about how to Upgrade my HTC M7 to Lollipop, since I heared that it has released Officially for M7.
The OTA update isn't providing me any of any Software Update messages but this:
Software Update: 6.09.401.10 (197.42 MB).

I downloaded it and Installed it via OTA, but during the installation (when the device is on shutdown mode) there seem to be a loading cycle (similar to the sync icon) loading a progress bar, and suddenly! at the middle of the progression a Red Triangle appears, Indicating that the Update proccess is aported for some reason.
and there's no way I could make sure what to do, please, help me because I'm getting confused.

Your OS isn't 100% stock, thats why you are getting the error message saying that the update aborted. Updates can't be installed if the OS (/system partition) was modified. Your phone is S-OFF so someone did unlocked and tampered with it at some point and did not restored it back to stock properly.
At least it will be easy to fix. All you'll need is to flash the latest RUU for your phone which will bring it back to stock and update it at the same time. The version you need is 7.19.401.51. File and instructions in this thread (read post 1, 7.19.401.51 file at post #2)

I'm downloading now the RUU: 7.19.401.51 decrypted (s-off only) you've mentioned from the Post #2 of the Thread you gave me; there are two links actually with the same build number: one that is (s-off only), and the other is (signed). so, I've downloaded (s-off only).
since I'm a newbie to flashing, how to flash this RUU to my device properly?
