[Q] Kindle Fire HD with Fire OS 3.0 version 11.3.0.5 root - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I JUST purchased the brand new kindle fire HD with Fire OS 3.0
I was wondering if there is a way to root it yet?

We REALLY need a better way to refer to this new Kindle Fire (aka Kindle Fire HD (3rd gen), AKA Kindle Fire 3), all new Kindle Fire HD? 2013 Kindle Fire HD? Just finding out which is which is confusing.

I would think the logical naming convention due to our old naming convention would be kfhd2

I'm also interested in an answer to this. My mom just bought one a couple days ago, and she hates the Fire OS layout. I was able to sideload Nova launcher but alot of apps don't work like Gmail, Notes, Currents(or at least the versions I was able to find). There's also no play store without rooting, no way to add a wallpaper, and widgets don't work. I tried the root QEMU root and Root_with_Restore but neither of those worked. Being able to root and run a Custom Rom would make this an awesome little device for her, its even making me thinking of getting a Nexus 7. Thanks for any help.

There are no exploits for any 2013 model Kindle yet. This is stated on the forum several times.

[Q] how to get the Kindle App (The one inside stock Kindle Fire 2)

I just got CM 10.1 running on my Kindle Fire 2nd Gen. But when I downloaded the Kindle App from the store, its a lot different from the built-in Kindle App in stock Kindle Fires. One noticeable difference is when viewing my magazines.
Where/How can I install the "original" Kindle App?

the only problem is it fc's every time you try to open it, maybe you could get someone to fix it for you. it's in the amazon update file.
Thanks anyways. That's just a minor drawback compared now that my KF is rocking with CM 10.1! Thanks to all devs who made this possible!

[Q] How Do You Get ScreenCast App To Work On Kindle Fire HD 7

So i have a kindle fire hd 7 and i am trying to use the screencast app. (I do have a rooted kindle fire hd) so whenever i record it seems to work fine,
But whenever i go to watch it it has a black screen with my audio (it never shows my screen). Well i went around looking for a way to fix the problem and androidcowboy helped me out and said that i need to disable Hardware overlays. Someone please tell me how to do that from the
Kindle fire hd 7! Thank you.
I Got The Same Problem!
Ya, I Got the Same Problem. Anyone Got Any Fixes? If Then That Would Be Great

Having root does not give the developers option, it just gives you root. The developers option, for KFHD users, is attainable only through a custom rom. Whether a particular rom is screencast compatible is hit or miss.

I bought a Kindle Fire HD 7 but no camera

According to the amazon picture I was getting a Fire HD 7 inch with a camera, but it came without one. AM I totally out of luck putting CyanogenMod onto this?
When you say no camera, are you saying you cant find the app or the camera is just black?

What I mean is that I read that the Kindle Fire HD 7 with a camera can be rooted, but the version without cannot. I wondered if anyone knows if this is still the case?

If your device does not have a physical camera or HDMI output, then you can root, but CyanogenMod is out of the question at this point.

Actually after using it for a few days I found the Amazon interface is not that bad. I can easily get used to it.

Is the Fire HD 6 and the Fire HD 7 the same?
