Hi guys
Here's my guide to return to stock for carrier based Rom. I know it seems long winded - but it's the only way I successfully returned to stock 02 without having my ***TAMPERED*** message return and botching the whole thing up again
Here's the guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2519259
Obviously you will need a nandroid backup rather than an 02 backup which I used in the guide, but the guide remains the same
Any questions or help needed I'll be here for a while and good luck
Click thanks if I helped

Hi thanks alot bud i will most likely need your help! so i may be in touch.
Thanks again.

ok...random as this is...but if you really wish to go back...then here goes.
you require the htc drivers installed from htc sync.
the ruu you require is whatever u want...its advisable to reinstall the original from your area though...but your choice.
this wipes everything.....recovery, root everything....
ok have the ruu on your pc.
connect pc to phone
have phone in bootloader (possible fastboot usb)
phone may reboot itself into which ever mode it wants but its random as ive seen....i had it ready in bootloader and it worked
double click on ruu and follow instructions.
now it will or should install in around 10-15mins. if by chance you get installation error, follow the recovery part and redo the ruu again straight away....after a few attempts it will install.
what effect this will have on your updates to bootloader or hboot etc is unknown...as i haven't reverted to stock since unlocking bootloader...
Can i use this on the Salsa?? I think i got it from the galaxy nexus section..but will it work properly?

[Q] How to restore an unlocked, rooted, flashed phone back to stock?

Hi everyone, I am a new android user so I could use a little help!
I got my black HTC One sim-free version from Amazon UK, and have had a lot of fun using and learning about android. However I need to return the phone back to amazon, and am worried they won't take it due to the modifications now.
I unlocked my bootloader, rooted by installing SuperUser, installed CWM recovery and then flashed Trickdroid 5.2.1.
It's all working but I'm not really sure how I managed to get to this point as I just used Hasoon2000's excellent toolkit, with some more help from Torxx' tutorial (the AIO app came up with some errors after unlocking the bootloader). Foolishly I didn't make a backup of the original/stock rom or recovery either...
Can I just flash the Odexed version of the stock rom and associated recovery.img can I restore the phone back to stock? And what would be the order of doing that, and the commands I need to issue?
Thanks in advance.
have a look here might help you out

Thanks I read through that thread before.
I found 2 posts that sort of do what I need:
Post 17 by g189ffin
Post 35 by geordieboy2011
I am assuming what the did is what I need to do, however their instructions aren't clear enough for me!
Can anyone break down what commands are needed either with the command prompt and fastboot?
Or how to use the All in One app, and in what order?
Thanks!

Both post doesn't tell you how to put your rooted HTC One back to stock, It actually shows you how to unlock boot loader and root your phone.
been a while since ive used android, but I always remember having to flash the RUU and unroot
If you have a nandroid backup, can't you flash back to stock with that?

Unfortunately I didn't make a backup...
I too have this same problem and am yet to find a difinitive solution
Relock the bootloader then flash the appropriate RUU
the installation will fail if the CID don't match
Use this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35975359&postcount=3
Edit: You can also search the HTC One X Forums, the step-by-step manuals should work the same way (of course you have to use the One drivers and appropiate RUUs/Nandroid backups). When I reverted my old HOX back to stock to sell it I had to take a nandroid backup because I had a O2-branded HOX and O2 never released the appropiate RUU for Jelly Bean.
Edit 2: Link from HOX Forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714
And here are the Links for RUU/Nandroid Collection for the One: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39588860&postcount=1
Of course you have to use the appropiate One files (check CID)!

Removing Root from HTC One on O2 UK Carrier

Hi,
I don't think this is in the right place but i am unable to post under the developers area for assistance and everyone has told me this is the best place to get some help.
I am looking to get rid of my root for my HTC One on an O2 network and I think i need to get the boot loader locked which i can do then run a RUU file that matches my phone. The RUU's i have run seem to be the wrong ones and i am at a loss to which one i should be using, when i go through the steps it says that my version is 1.27.206.1 does this mean i need to find the version that is O2 and 1.27.206.1 for it to work?
I have also tried an OTA but this just stops at the boot loader screen and i think this is because some of the stock apps are wipe. Any help would be much appreciated.
Rich
You do need that RUU but it isnt available yet.

Thanks for the very quick response, ok that narrows it down quite a bit, would you happen to know which RUU i would be looking for when it does come out? will it be a specific O2 RUU for the version 1.27.206.1? Also where would i check for it once its released?
Is their anyway around the OTA update to remove the Root atm?

You would need an ruu that has the same software or newer than yours. The key bit would be the .206 section. There is an RUU thread here. You could flash one of the stock nandroid backups in the RUU thread. Add the apps back. There is a .zip somewhere then remove the stock recovery and flash the ota.

I would but I'm on my phone using tapatalk so I can't really at the moment sorry. The ruu thread is on this part of the forum though. And the other bit should be in the dev section.
Ok, no worries, i have downloaded the UK Nandroid rom and flashed it to my device but i still have everything on my phone like games that i had before flashing it which is a little odd.
i have also found the stock apps from a post on here like you said and have them all installed on the phone. Could someone explain the next steps please,
why dont you just use the unroot in the superuser apps? SuperSU has the option.
also solloris
Hi, i have tried this option but when the phone reboots the application is back and the bootloader is still showing as Tampered.

[Q] need to fix my phone

I recently rooted my HTC one and a week later my top speaker crackles. I need to send it to Telstra but I need to remove the root. I've looked all over the place and I can't seem to find a ruu or even a nandroid. If some one could point me in the direction it will be greatly appreciated. Also will a nandroid work to unroot? Or do I need a ruu?

You can find the stock ruu at this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224752
A nandroid of the original ROM will suffice, especially if you booted the bootloader and took the backup rather than flashing it.
If not, most bootloaders of the same primary version are equivalent.
What was your original software version?
fastboot getvar version-main
Or is that main-version?
Sorry I'm still kinda new to all of this. I used a recovery to root the phone ( team win) but I made the stupid mistake of not making a nandroid before hand. I need to make it look like I never rooted this phone so HTC can replace it. If I can't find something I might just "drop" it in water since I have insurance.

The boot loader will say re-locked even if you flash your RUU, isn't that correct?

It depends if you're lucky or unlucky. I've heard of some that get their warranties applied, but also some where they got rejected. No harm trying, you'll get your phone back anyway

[Q] Stuck on bootloader screen.

Hi fellas! I'm kinda scared and confused right now.
I just bought a 2nd hand HTC One M7
and I noticed that it is rooted something like ViperOne, wanted to change it back to stock.
So I did some things with fastboot and now I'm stuck and I don't know where to start.
Can anyone help me with this one? This is my first time with root things so kinda be patient with me
Should I post the information about fastboot getvar all?
Yeah, maybe with more info we can help you.
Remember to remove your imei and serialnum
Check also this thread @nkk71

Do you know which custom recovery it has?
I have the options of
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
SHOW BARCODE
I tried doing the fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
I don't know what I was doing I was desperate
Kinda busy at work specially I work at night can't bring it to an expert or some sort.

you have to do:
- Re-Unlock the device
- Flash a custom recovery
- Flash the guru zip for back to stock
- Relock the bootloader
Do someone has the patience to guide me in a step by step procedure and help me find the necessary tools. Should we do this with reply to this post?
I've downloaded alot of zip files almost went over my internet limit around 1gb per zip.
Thank you so much guys. Good thing there is XDA, active members

Start with this for unlocking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QU7vi388dMk
Then I would go for this: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/164
Edit; What Guich said =)
So right now I'm currently downloading rumrunner since in the guide I should go down to HBOOT 1.44 since I have 1.54 is that correct?
And how about the versions of cid modelid radio I don't have any idea about that

All this info are on the pic you've posted before, and in a fastboot getvar all output
Gotcha! Right now I'm following the video of QBking unlocking my bootloader just give me couple of minutes see if this will work.
On nkk71's guide it says i need to remove the tampered and relocked
But on QBking's video i need to unlock it?
Is it the same or it is for a different thing?
