[Q] D4 does not read vodafoneNL SIM anymore - Motorola Droid 4

Hi,
A couple of days ago I purchased a Motorola Droid 4 on a marketplace in Holland.
The phone was bought in New York and the guy i bought it from, had rooted the device to Cyanogenmod 10.2. It was also running safestrap recovery. When he bought it the phone had a lock from verizon.
As I did not know anything about rooting and didn't understand how to use my phone i started doing some research and e-mailed the guy i bought it from. At first everything was working properly (appart from the wifi sometimes ) it only did not have gapps on it. At that time i had service on the phone.
After understanding a little how to use safestrap and how to flash the device, i found out the stock rom had been flashed to cyanogenmod 10.2 aswell. I flashed a rom-slot to cyanogenmod 10.2 with gapps again and finally thought the phone was working properly, including google applications. But now i did not have any Phone service. In the slider menu it says No service/No sim card.
Could someone please help me? I'm not sure what to do know ..
Kind regards,
Wouter

[Q] Verizon service shuts down on CM9

I have an SCH-i800 that I have CM9 (p1c 9.1.0) installed on. I have been using it for several weeks with no problem. Since I am planning on going on a trip, I decided to active pre-paid Verizon service for the tablet. At first, I attempted to activate the device. It went through the phone call but after a minute, it just sat at activating. That is when I noticed that the radio state in the status bar had an X on it. I rebooted the tablet to try again and got "com.android.phone has topped unexpectedly". I re-flashed CM9 (at the time I was using 9.0.0) and it worked again. Activation was not necessary. After a day, the error came up again and radio state went to off with an X. I tried 9.1.0, same problem after a day. I even tried a nightly CM10, same problem. Reboots, cache wipes, permission fixes do not make it work. The error persists until a re-flash of CM. I see on the Support Downloads for the Verizon Tablet, there are two modem files. My baseband version is currently S:I800.0.3V.EI04. I have attempted to "flash" these both via Odin (which failed after a couple minutes) and ZIP (which looked like it worked) to the EC02 on the site, but my baseband doesn't seem to change.
So my first question is, is there a how-to on flashing as I have searched high and low on one for the Verizon Tab specifically, and have yet to find one. Is there a ZIP file that is specifically meant for the i800? I am almost certain this is my problem and that a downgrade (this tablet when stock was updated to the latest Verizon image).
My second question is, has anyone else experienced this? Is there someone that is using a CM9 Verizon tab with EI04 baseband and not have this problem?
Is there a way I can track down what crashed the program? I have tried logcat, but it doesn't appear to give me much detail other than to tell me that it stopped.
And if you ask, no I did not use the Verizon service with this tablet before putting CM9 on it, so I wouldn't know if it worked before.
Any input that someone could provide would be useful. Thanks!

[Q] No Service/No contacts?

So this is my first time rooting/flashing so I'm not a pro at what I'm doing but I wanted to give it a try
Anyway, so I rooted my S3 Mini with Unified Android Toolkit and backed up apps etc. Then installed CyanogenMod on my phone. Everything is okay except for 2 issues.
1) I haven't got any SIM Contacts, were these deleted when I wiped the phone and now I can't do anything about it?
2) I see 'No Service' on my phone when I bring the toolbar down from the top of the screen. See this is weird because I have service and am using the internet, but I don't actually have a registered network. I went to network providers, scanned and tapped my network, but even then, there was no change. I am running a UK S3 Mini on baseband ...XXAMJ2 and Installed Jellybean 4.1.2 (CyanogenMod 10) 20130727 from Maclaw'NovaFusion
When I rooted with the Toolkit, I chose the option [Up to ALL7] if that makes any difference?
Is there any way I can see which network I'm running because I'm confused and was gonna just flash the stock rom and unroot...
Thank you
P.S Also just checked in About Phone and my Network/Service Status comes up there, and my mobile data works, but it still says No Service when I bring the top toolbar down?!

For the SIM contacts: Try to pop in you SIM to an old phone and check if the contacts are still there, if yes good, if no... my condolences.
I strongly recommend to switch to CM11, it's working just fine, with no major bugs or problems. Well, i'm using it and i'm very picky when it comes to bugs and other issues.
The point is, you have to re-flash you phone anyway and along the way, you can update to a better android version.

With switching to CM11... I'm currently on 10 because my S3 was running 4.1.2 originally, if I were to flash the 4.4.2 rom, would it work and be compatible? Sorry if it seems like a basic question, I'm not really that knowledgeable about this
EDIT: Just did this, worked wonders! Thank you!

Phone doesn't read my SIM

I have been using CM11 (14-03-2014 I believe), without major problems until yesterday. Sometimes my phone seemed to disconnect from my SIM and I had to re-enter my pin code to reconnect to my operators network. But as of yesterday my device doesn't seem to recognize the SIM card, It doesn't ask for a code at all and can't make any connection whatsoever. I didn't change a thing, this problem started out of the blue.
I wiped cache and dalvik, updated to the latest CM nightly (08-05) but that didn't make any difference. In other threads I read about the baseband that might need an update, but I can't check which version I have now because when I try to enter the hidden menu I get the no network connection error. The strange thing is that CM11 has worked with (I guess) the stock baseband.
Is my phone tripping or could it be that my SIM card is broken?
Help and thoughts will be very much appreciated
Try it on stock to be sure about it.
After some searching I found a phone that could fit a regular SIM card, a Blackberry 9900. My SIM worked perfect in this phone, so that is not the problem.
I Also did a complete wipe and installed a stable version of CM 10.1.3, but that didn't seem to help. I hoped that a downgrade would have done the trick. I might try a ICS ROM or the stock firmware, but I kind of lost hope and i'm starting to think this problem is hardware related in stead of software. I'll report back with results on stock firmware and the ICS ROM.
How can I make sure the SIM reader in my phone is working properly?
Sorry for double posting, but I got an update:
SIM wasn't working with ICS so I decided to go back to the stock ROM. However, when I tried to flash V20B.kdz with KDZ_FW_UPD, the program got stuck at wParam=2010 and iParam=210. The phone is now stuck in S/W Update mode, and I haven't found a way to restore it yet. I will argue a little more with my phone when I get back from work, I'll open a new thread on how to unbrick when I can't do it myself.

Moto G XT1068 - [6.0] Cyanogenmod 13.0 [UNIFIED] - Not detecting SIM card

Hey guys!
So today I tried getting an update for my stock 5.02 unlocked XT1068.
Considering that almost bricked my phone I decided to go for a custom ROM to avoid the issue in the future,
Now, after finally updating my bootloaded to 48.82 and recovery to 2.8.7 I managed to flash the [THEA][6.0] Cyanogenmod 13.0 [UNIFIED] ROM from this forum.
No other would be accepted due to the device being THEA.
I flashed the gapss afetrward and rebooted the phone.
It started up nicely, sets up the 110 apps.
Now as soon as I get to setting up my account and so on, I get the message the phone "does not detect any SIM card".
Mind you my SIM is inside the SIM1 slot all the time and it worked fine just 6 hours ago.
Now I tried looking up the forums for Moto G 2014 and 2014 LTE but found nothing that could help me.
Supposedly these new ROMs don't have the old issue with SIM, on the other hand they do not work with multi-sim (XT1068 is dual).
I am running out of options here, I've read through multiple full threads on these ROMs and I would like to avoid going back to stock ROM.
Would really appreciate any kind of advice.
Flash correct TWRP and CM:

You are a wizard, you know that?!
Changing to Titan distri solved the issue.
Up till now I was really convinced that THEA was connected to hardware, not that changing up the Recovery will fix stuff.
Thank you so much LuK!

issue with the m7 sprint not reading the sim card

hello, i'll try my best to describe the issue i'm facing
a month ago i flashed a custom rom, this one to be precise https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/development/rom-lineageos-16-0-t3960329 to my HTC one m7 phone, i haven't checked prior to having the new rom, back in the stock rom period, i didn't check if my phone was able to read the SIM card, i flashed the custom rom mentioned, with the twrp and gapps from that exact thread, everything was done through the ADB sideload method, 2 days later, i did input the SIM card and it couldn't be read, i tried several roms and that didn't help so i gave it to a tech guy in my hood, he didn't explain why and how this stuff functions but he fixed it, everything is back to STOCK on android 5.0 and the SIM card can be now detected and everything's okey, but my daily needs aren't compatible with that version anymore and i kinda hate the rusty UI there, i wanna advance and head to a future version, i'm afraid of missing a step or something so here is the thing :
i unlocked the bootloader--->through ADB support i flash the TWRP version that is included in that said link ---> wipe (not complete wipe ) ----->flash the rom and gapps through ADB sideload--> reboot
am i missing something ? i saw people talking about htc sense or a kernel thing, even googling didn't help figure out what's up, i hope i did describe everything needed to find a clue here, if anyone can walk me through the process of getting myself an advanced rom without ending up with a phone that can't read the sim card i'll be happy, thanks a lot!
