Wanam Xposed Music Controls - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

For some reason out of nowhere I can't skip tracks using the volume rockers when my phone is off anymore. I didn't change anything. When I hold down the volume rockers nothing happens. The volume doesn't increase and the song doesn't skip. I tried rebooting and toggling the option on and off.

I had a similar problem using the volume rocker to turn on the flashlight via Wanum. Went to data/dalvik cache with Root Explorer and deleted all contents. Immediately powered off. Reboot probably won't work after clearing dalvik. Powered back on and let device go thru slow boot up. Device has never run faster or smoother. All Wanum and all Multi-Window functions are now working properly.

Just an FYI

So I am a crack flasher and sometimes my phone locks up in aroma installer when flashing a ROM. I noticed sometimes when my phone locked, there wasn't a thing I could do to reboot it (holding power button or holding power+volume down). I would actually have to wait for the battery to die....it would piss me off! I finally found a fix for this. If your phone is locked up and won't reboot, put the phone up to a bright light and hold the power+volume down buttons for 8 seconds and poof! Your phone will reboot, just thought I would share this as I found this method VERY useful!

Is the light really necessary? I got stuck in Aroma and just held power for about 12 seconds and poofed.

It doesn't work for some. Another option is to connect your phone to a computer and adb reboot

Sometimes it is, trust me...I've gone as far as tying hair ties around the power button so the softkeys blink to help the battery die....and sometimes the adb reboot does work but right now my computer is non functional so it does no good for me

Or, use the volume controls to navigate and power to select. Never freezes using buttons.

Just my :2cents:
Holding down the power button on most, if not all electronics will eventually power it down. It's a safety built into devices that you're unable to remove the battery from.
aside from using the volume and power buttons, boot into fastboot and erase cache before flashing. And waiting a few seconds in between making selections in aroma and after the initial load into aroma installer. I haven't had a single aroma lockup yet.

Well this is a new kind of brick...

My wife has the s5839i which I rooted and installed SGS3 v4.0 on.
I also installed CWM Recovery too.
Everything was working fine for around 3 weeks and then last night, she was playing a game which became sluggish and caused the phone to become none responsive. She took her battery out and popped it back in again and when she did... this happened:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHz0z7Fkpeg&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Now, last night, it was still booting but thw boot logo never disappeared although a small strip at the top was visible which was displayed correctly. You could just see the clock and battery as well as media scanner running / compleated. Then it would say something about low memory, the screen would go blank and then that was that.
The screen was none resposive nor were the menu or back buttons. I did get 'some' luck with the menu and volume buttons but the only one which always works is the power button.
Download mode and Cwm recovery do not work HOWEVER, by removing the battery, then plugging in the usb cable then pressing power, volume + & - for 3 seconds followed by only keeping hold of volume + & -, then pressing volume + once then menu. It detects the phone in oden 3 (not 4)
I managed to flash the stock firmware which I have done at least 6 times now using different techniques including using the .pit file but now the phone is just stuck on a boot loop and still looks the same.
Anyone ever seen this before or know what to do next other than launch it out of the window?
Thanks
Chiller.

Hi Chillerhippie, you should ask your questions about S5839i in the S5830i/M/C subforo . Good luck.

Flashing ROM, screen becomes unresponsive/TWRP.

TWRP works fine till I go to install Viper ROM, then the screen goes unresponsive on AROMA. Any help?
It's an issue with Aroma if I recall correctly. You need to use the volume buttons to navigate the menus and use power to select.

I concur. It's an AROMA problem that apparently hasn't been figured out for Sprint yet. Volume and power buttons with some guesswork will get you there. Worked for me!

unlocked, lost my power button menu...

this is silly. i simply did the factory rest and let Google restore my apps automatically... now when i long press the power button i get only a "power off" button. it feels weirdly naked.
before i used to have airplane mode, reset, power off and what i really miss, the 3 little Burtons with silent, vibrate and something else.
how do i get that back? what dumb thing did i do to lose them?
thanks!

advanced power menu is a root / rom option, not stock.
root
Xposed framework
gravity box
Enable power menu
I'm pretty sure i had it right until i unlocked...
I'm taking about this menu. attached

OK. Your comment made me think I was crazy. So I factory reseted...
The power menu is back.
Also one Wi-Fi I was getting barely 1 bar (discovered often) now shows as full bars. With was going on?
I had zero mods and exploits. Nothing. Only unusual thing I did was update super su. But I didn't even had any app ask for permission yet besides me on the terminal reading system files...

btw, any one has any idea of what happened? I'm now afraid of losing those buttons again. there's no way to put on silent mode without pressing volume down, which retardedly beeps and vibrates all over (exactly what one want when lowering the volume)

No idea but you can use gravity box and change your notification tiles to have ringer mode etc.

Enter Safemode to boost performance

Hi
I have the AT&T galaxy s6 edge 128GB, I've being using it for about a month now. The phone is amazing except for when I hit the home button which causes a short pause before showing the widgets and the shortcuts. After contacting Samsung they gave me these instructions which seems to work:
Enter into safemode by:
1. Switching the phone off.
2. Switch the phone on + hold the volume down button.
3. when the screen turn on, release the power button and keep holding the volume down button until seeing the lock screen.
*THIS PROCESS WILL SOFT REST YOUR PHONE. MEANING THAT YOU BE LOGGED OUT OF ALL YOUR ACCOUNTS LIKE TWITTER AND INSTAGRAM AND IT WILL DISABLE ALL THE PLAY STORE INSTALLED APPS UNTIL YOU SWITCH BACK TO NORMAL MODE*
After entering the safemode, use the phone for about 25 minutes then restart it to normal mode. That's it.
So have you seen any performance improvements?

I saw a difference. The phone was fast and smooth in the safemode, which means that one of the apps that I installed is causing an issue when I use it in normal mode.
Sorry for the late reply
