[How-To][APP]Visual Voicemail in CM7

Here are the steps to get VVM going in CM7:
Just flash my attatched zip This seems to work for some
OR:
Ensure you have backed up the data of the VVM app with titanium with an EB13 rom. THIS IS VITAL! You must do this before you upgrade to CM7!
Once CM7 is flashed and running, flash my zip attached to this post
After booting back up, (may take a good 3-4 minutes) go to titanium backup, and restore your data for the VVM app.
Open up VVM, and you should be good to go!
Reserved. For what, I have no clue, but just in case
so just to be sure, the data i save in Titanium will be preserved when i flash to Cyanogen. i just redownload Titanium and it will pull the data off my sd card??

No problem, and I just got a VM and listened to it, so this should most certainly work
Is doing this any different then just installing the apk or copying it to system/app?

The zip does that for you, and you need to have the data already backed up with tb.

What files does it back up? And yes. I will tell you and maybe you can incorperate it in your zip. It should work because vvm works on the roms you flash.

TB will back up your data and installation data most likely. Just try flashing my zip then and see if it works for you.
Thanks Vlad,

OTA Update App needed

Hi all
I think that in few days the official Jelly Bean will come to our phones.
I would like to upgrade it using the LG OTA Update App installed in our phones.
But there's one problem: I deleted the app. I don't want to reinstall the system.
So If someone would post me the apk of this app, i would be very grateful .
Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance
AW: OTA Update App needed
1.Just download the LG FOTA Client.apk and the LG FOTA Client.odex
And the LGFOTA.apk.
2.Move the 3 Files into /system.
3.Set the permission (look the other file and set the same).
4.Reboot.
And is completed

I copied the apk files and odex in /system/app (also tried /system). Set the permissions to 644 - as other files in the folder (using Total Commander). Reboot and nothing happened. I still don't have the app in my menu. I don;t know how to make it work...
Edit: i pressed the wrong buttons lol, now i have poster a message.

Just re-flash the phone with the same version using "UpTestEX_mod2_marwin", choose the option "DIAG".
Takes 7 minutes and if the app is missing or the files corrupted will re-install them. All other apps/files and settings will remain.

So, I can be sure, that other apps, contacts and settings will remain after flashing it? Of course, I made a backup, but if I wanted to reinstall whole system I would have done it. But I just want to make this app work, because when the official update will come, I will update system using this app .

I'm pretty sure you'll have to copy the browser.apk file to your system/app folder and then reboot your device. You'll need to be rooted to do so

I flashed the new Nexus 5 launcher and it replaced the Z1's softkeys with the 5's. I don't like these keys and want the Z1's. Can someone provide me with the required files.

You make backups with recovery. You can also make a backup of the xperia home apk with titanium backup that you can restore,
I can provide you with the file when I get time.
Just remember that in future it is always good practice to backup things up before you flash anything or replace system apps. that way when things go wrong (Or if you don't like the result) then you can easily go back without having to ask for someone to provide you with the files that you once had on your phone.

Hey I saw the zip with the files but how am I supposed to flash them? This isn't a CWM zip..I only need to flash the system UI... Launcher is ok
You throw them in system/apps and overwrite.
Restart and then it should be back to normal.

Edit this idea was a massive fail.. I had to factory reset ater backing up my data and reflash the ROM... It seems the smaller softkeys are due to the ROM. What can I do to have the stock softkeys? How do I flash those @gregbradley?

seeing as you never mentioned which rom you were on I presumed you wanted the stock systemUI.apk.
If you want something different then extract it from your rom download and put it in system/app using root explorer and change the permissions so they are the same as other apps.
HINT
put it in system
long press on it and choose change permissions
change them to this

then move it to system/app
reboot

Mms.apk on Cyanfox 4.4.2?

I hate how much hangouts lag and I know that the 8sms app from the play store is pretty close to a stock messaging app, but does anyone know why installing the mms.apk from CM11 or Gummy 4.4.2 wouldn't work? On both of them I get an "App not installed" message when I try to run them straight out of es file explorer. Is there something that I am missing?

No problem. The error was caused by the file permissions. Repackaging the ROM with that apk is the fast, easy, and painless way of getting it installed with the proper permissions.
