CyanogenMod 10.2 Beta 2.3 ROM for LG Optimus L5 Doesn't Work on e617 - Optimus L3, L5, L7 General

EDIT: This info is wrong, see last post.
The CM posted at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2385111
advertised as CyanogenMod for E610/E612 won't install on e612. In particular, this is because
META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
starts with a check
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "e610" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "e610");
and e610 is actually hardcoded in several other places.

It works really good on e612, ive flashed it and used it like a month, maybe 2, just update your cwm, if this doesnt work, just delete this line:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "e610" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "e610");
With notepad++

So 2 months ago you flashed this ROM that was posted 1.5 weeks ago? That's good info for debugging, thanks...

To give more complete info, this is sort of a cold boot issue: At some point that assertion was added and ever since it is not possible to install CyanogenMod if you didn't have CyanogenMod installed, but testers wouldn't be able to notice because they already have build.prop with settings set to e610.

Right, as clarified above, I think the issue is when moving from stock to one of the recent builds. I think I didn't see that check in build around June, I'm not sure right now because I know I had this latest build installed (and an unbootable cell) when I tried the build from June.

This is all wrong...
I just realized this thing is an E617 so the whole thread is wrong, please disregard.

Cyanogen team is an awesome team... Entrophy512 and xplodwild are both great developers... If they released something its because it's way better and improved over the previous release...
Now if you are not a developer you don't need a change log but if you are and unless you are building from CM10 source you could need it but in that case you wouldn't need to ask that... So you got 2 options, stay with v4 or enjoy they way improved v5

Lol worst answer ever? Of course the ppl behind this is great. But the guy in post 1 could have many different reasons why he want to know what the difference between v4 and v5 is. For one thing he just want to know it out of curiosity. He might want something for from v4 on HIS device etc. It's one thing to ask but another thing to believe you are owed an answer. He did in no way tell us that he demanded an an answer from the creators of the rom. Maybe even someone else know?

woah! is that the way you understand changelog? for developers? kidding me? thanks for answering but its not helpful.
i need to see and understand changelog everytime i flash a rom.. so that i know what i am into. just like most people do.
hmmm this is an off topic OP but your nick sounds quite familiar.... My eldest brother used to go far out to remote places in the Philippines, and I could have swore he said something to me before... hmm quite akin to the word 'bore'
anyway On your topic.. you can visit the CM10 thread thoroughly OP, you for yourself can be the better judge in comparing the improvements on the updates itself.
here in XDA... there's always an unspoken rule here in XDA that most if not everyone should always follow..."Search, Read and Learn, before you Question on anything and everything

Doubt

Can I install the I-1900 Roms on the I-1903?
Nope,
Two diffrent phones with diffrent hardware. If you do it will either a hard brick or the installation will be stopped due to mismatch in build.prop and getprop command.

You mean Menu and Back touch buttons?
Yeah! It's possible
Which rom are you using?
Cm7.2 The ultimatum V3 (Firekernel) from 'The A Factor'
Can you give me that fix? It will extend the battery for a little time.

Ok, I created a flashable zips for STOCK roms "Save your battery without any App" but I couldn't do it in CM because I didn't have my Ace plus free time...
BTW you can use this method to turn off the lights, use a Terminal Emulator and type the following lines:
Code:
su
echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/brightness
chmod 444 /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/brightness
You will need to type it every time you'll reboot your device, but it works fine
It's possible to add this lines into a file to do this tweak permanent
How can I create that file ? I dont want to see this (useless) lights.

I think I wrote it right, but the backlights are still shining :/.
I prefer to use a zip flasheable , and if it is permanently it will be better.
Thanks for support me.

Works fine, I'm testing it in REVOLUTION X by omega_warrior
The last 4 lines are just a command ? I wrote Su , then 2 commands ( two lines and another two lines )

another??
Only you need is type those lines
Code:
su
echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/brightness
chmod 444 /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/brightness
Copy and paste if neccessary
I'm going to create a flashable zip with something new to try to get this tweak permanent in CM maybe it work xDDDDDDD
If you know sgs2 v9 rom by team adreno, they have a init.d script in that which permanently turns backlight off. If you can give me your email ID, I'll mail it to you.

officially recognized at least.
it's updated by a recognized MIUI China porter, not an official Xiaomi porter.
Im not trying to be funny but it looks exactly like MIUI, what are the differences ?

Slight UI differences, otherwise most Chinese ROMs are alike. It's strange

next time read some threads where i say - NO, NO NEWER VERSIONS OF ANDROID THEN 4.4 IS SUPPORTED ON MINI 2... It is now LEGACY device, and I quit with support soon (when I get some time and some logcats I would try to fix FM radio on CM11, but IDK when)
