Dialer Lag - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Whenever there is an incoming call, the contact detail appear after a few seconds of ringing. When I accept the call, I have to wait for another few seconds before we are able to hear each other. I know this is a very common problem, but is there any solution to this? I tried exDialer but the problem is still the same.
Below are my phone details:
Rom: Pure Vanilla V5 - Build 2 (AOSP)
Kernel: CoCore-E-6.8
Baseband version: DDULP8
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is a typical Samsung "bug".. There is no proper fix for this, unless someone can find out what exactly causes this lag and delay...
You can switch to CyanogenMod or any other ROMs that isn't based on Samsung's firmware because CM ROMs don't have this issue

Like Sami said; there is no fix for it but if you don't want to use CM, you can upgrade your firmware from Odin.I sight Samsung Mobile these days. They're building new firmwares for I9070, not just new firmwares. They improved some libraries & framework.Maybe that will give more speed less lag.

It does allow more icons in the dock, I've had it for months for my Nexus S. In the app drawer (where your apps are), hit the menu button and tap edit - A tutorial comes up and a grid behind it, you can then drag apps into the dock.
Here's proof on my Nexus S:

No problem - The screen was actually from my own TouchWiz ROM (which I gave up on and never released) - But I killed my ROM and it kept rebooting. You've definitely beat me to it - If you need help and want wallpapers donated, I'd be happy to.
Keep up the good work man. Hopefully, you can get round to porting the widgets .

Yeah it's the radio. I have a fix.
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Then tap phone information
Scroll down and select your preferred network type (GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) is mine)
Then tap "Turn off radio"
Turn the radio back on
Press the menu button and tap "select radio band"
Choose your area
turn off your radio and back on again like before.
reboot your phone
If that doesn't work try different GSM/ CDMA settings then follow the steps again.
This happened to me on 2.3.5 (Official) - So I feel your pain - It's not a problem with the ROM but more the radio in general.
that didnt work
Ah, I came to nexus to get away from Samsung's touchwiz! Hopefully some people will test for you though.

[MOD]Android stock lockscreen (Andy) - New easier and universal method ...

Hi all!
Let's begin thanking to dxdiag32 all the efforts to get the original lockscreen to our blackies...
This mod is SO SIMPLE.
You have you edit your build.prop, and replace the line...
Code:
user.feature.lock_sui=true
... with this one ...
Code:
user.feature.lock_andy=true
That's all folks!!!
It will work with all versions of Gingerbread, and hopefully with all versions of Froyo.
Regards!!!

Yeah man. Hope all be fixed. Want to help but I'm on my own ROM ATM. With my experience, just a sudden freeze with zeus.
All I can do for now is... With the V20N ROM I'm using, I don't have any. Even comparable to your performance.
What I can tell you is, I don't have .ko's, patches (libsqlite), only themed apk's, untouched .jar's. init.rc is tweaked, init.omap.post_boot is heavily tweaked.
Before I touched boot.img, I used init.d, it generated me automatic 00something and another one. I placed scripts and they work. Removed some and placed them in init.omap.post_boot.
Hmm, aight... I'll flash V4.X and edit it. And will let you know the results. I will remove what I think is the cause and that includes .ko's and orig files (gps, apk's, .jar's) etc.
Regards!

dunno what actually is the problem, but i have used ZEUS from day 1 till today(i.e., 4.02b). i never ever have faced ANY problem. it's as stable as the stock GB rom, but a hell lot faster.
maybe am an offshoot lucky??
any views???
Yeah, you must be lucky... I've had one or two issues, people with lots... and the best... trying to catch the problem, I've made two ROMS from scratch with almost nothing added and the people have problems!!!! I don't know if cut my veins or leave them long...

LOLZZ ....i'll count on my luck then
Add me to the lucky ones. Only had one in Zeus 4.02b, but dunno where it came from, but after that nothing more. Must have been a buggy install, since I always customize your ROM a bit according to my taste and first then flash them
uhmm guys why are you talking about if there is [or not] a problem with zeus?? there is a thread for that already isn't it?... anyway the text issue I post before is gone, don't know why since I did nothing, but here is fixed [don't ask me I didn't do it, it fix itself somehow]
It happens with alarm and charging related info...

it separates the apps stored in different locations per page that is why they seem to fall on separate pages of the app drawer..
its my observation from various samsung mobile phones..

[Q] edit green bars in quickpanel

I was wondering where i could find the image for the little neon green bar under the quickpanel shortcuts?
I think it is in the SystenUI.apk /res/drawable-hdpi, but it also might be some code in XML.
Does anyone know the answer to my "problem"?
Thanks in advance.
It is an image in drawable hdpi, but idk what name is it i remember that it was there cuz i changed it. There is an image of backgroud in buttons and this bar
I have a feeling that the filename is
tw_quick_panel_quick_setting_button_bg_pressed.9.png
I may very well be wrong. But try for yourself.
BTW, you seem to have task killer installed. They are not good for your phone. They disrupt android's own memory management. I would recommend uninstalling them.

The tw_quick_panel_off.png is a square. So tw_quick_panel_on.png should also be a square.
But the element is a narrow bar.

Dude its a .9.png so Android will resize it to fill the space
And yeah, right now I am theming my phone's SystemUI so I pretty much know what I'm saying But yes I could be wrong because my ROM is themed Black and White so its hard to tell by looking at my PNGs

Date in the status bar

I have tried the xposed modules I am familiar with but I haven't found a way to get the date in the status bar like Wanam does for Touchwiz. Coming from the Samsung S4, I got used to having it there for quick glance. Any one know of a setting or module I might be missing that could achieve this?
I should also note that the apps in the Play store are cheesy looking. I want something that matches the fonts of the phone and doesn't create an entry in the pull-down notification either.
Use a custom rom such as Mahdi and you can have this feature.

I ended up trying it and it works for what I needed. Thank you both. I am still going to look into one of the custom ROMs. I just get tired of keeping up with the updates since there is no OTA (except for PA I believe).
For the functionality, I'm not sure, I just read various things about conflicts between CM and xposed/gravitybox tweaks.

Slim has a OTA and to be honest if it is running right why do you need to update. Updating is not mandatory but so many feel like if they dont have the latest they are going to burst....
