[Q] HTC One Goole Edition Stuck in Bootloop after 4.4 update. Help please! - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello-
Here is the fast version:
HTC One GPE with stock JB rom and clockwork mod recovery.
Last night I flashed the recovery to a stock version I found on the boards here. This morning the most recent JB update was ready for installation on the phone. A while after that KitKat was ready and I installed. As soon as I did, the phone entered a boot loop and will not stay on. I've cleared the cache and factory reset with no luck. A kind individual on another thread attempted to help resolve the issue but no such luck.
I tried reinstalling 4.4 (having to relock my bootloader was the only way I could successfully attempt reloading, but it did not work. S-off is ON.
Now, I cannot enter a custom recovery (nor a recovery of any kind at this moment). Any time I select recovery it just reboots the phone.
Here are previous errors I received while attempting fastboot flash:
bootloader) adopting the signature contained in this image...
(bootloader) zip header checking...
(bootloader) zip info parsing...
FAILED (remote: 99 unknown fail)
FAILED (remote: 24 parsing android-info fail)
Here is my fastboot getvar all:

I appreciate any help you may be able to offer. I've never had this much trouble with a phone before (somewhat of a novice, but this is beyond me).
Thank you!!!

unlock the bootloader again and install a custom recovery
then install the zip from here using adb sideload: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341395

Right, so your bootloader is locked or unlocked? If locked, are you able to unlock it?

I use the command "fastboot oem lock" and "fastboot oem unlock" to lock and unlock the device (since it's google play edition), unless that is for unlocking something else besides the bootloader.
I cannot open the recovery so I don't know what is on there. I've loaded TWRP with fastboot but every time I select recovery from the menu on the phone it reboots the phone.
Here is what I get when I search for the phone. I assume the adb is not seeing it since I have not set up the phone for that option?
c:\And>adb devices
List of devices attached
c:\And>fastboot devices
HT36JW912382 fastboot

Can you download either CWM or TWRP and try the following from bootloader:
fastboot boot nameofrecovery.img
For example: If you get http://flyhalf205.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-m7ul.img
then fastboot boot recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-m7ul.img in fastboot mode
Does the phone reboot into recovery now?

c:\And>fastboot boot openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 1.202s]
booting...
OKAY [ 0.001s]
This just froze the phone.
It will NOT boot into recovery. Just turns on and shows "Google"

I have cleared the cache before and after loading the custom recovery. and I loaded the CWR recovery. Still will not load into recovery. Just turns off and boots to Google.

i was able to successfully re-load the stock recovery. Any suggestions from this point?

How? What recovery did you use?
Go to bootloader and a do a factory reset from bootloader, it should boot into stock recovery and wipe , (should not just get kicked out right away)
What's the result after doing this.?

I used one I found somewhere in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358781&highlight=recovery
I cannot recall the exact one. It is the same one I installed last night before this morning's update.
I did the wipe and loaded into bootloader. Rebooted the phone and is now in a boot loop.

Hi @The_Doctor_Who here's what I would recommend:
- fastboot oem unlock (if not already in the unlocked state)
- download the latest official ClockworkMod touch recovery for m7ul directly from here: http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.3-m7ul.img
- fastboot boot recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.3-m7ul.img
Note the use of 'boot' instead of 'flash' for the last command... let's narrow this down and see if you can just boot a well-known/official recovery for this model without flashing anything. Sorry if these steps seem repetitive at this point, but it's a little hard to know what all has been done.

Hey! Thank!
I understand re: not knowing. I've tried using that recovery and cannot get into it. I also tried the fastboot boot and it froze the phone (someone motioned HTC removed the ability to use 'boot' with the hboot 1.54). I tried leting the phone sit in the frozen state but it would not do anything.

I see. Do I understand the the sequence of events correctly:
- you flashed a stock JB ROM
- then flashed the stock recovery (which file exactly? was it for m7ul?)
- the phone booted okay at this point and prompted you for 2 over-the-air system updates:
= an update for JB
= an update to KitKat
- things broke at this point?

Do you have a link for that thread handy? I wonder if it's trivial or not to downgrade the radio (HBOOT)... I haven't tried before.

I will have to find the file. I believe it was. It was indicated that the stock recovery was from the GPE One.

The update for JB was fine. I was checking twitter, facebook, etc. Then the KitKat update came in. I selected download and install and that is where the problem started.

From what I have seen downgrading is not an option, but I could be wrong.

@The_Doctor_Who thanks for the link. It doesn't specifically say you can't use 'fastboot boot' on the GPE version of HBOOT. I'm pretty sure you can (assuming things are working otherwise). At least, I had a version of the 1.54 HBOOT on m7ul which didn't seem to have this restriction... I don't know the exact version number unfortunately.
That aside, it does seem that the recovery partition may be corrupted or in a bad state somehow. I'm going to reply on the other thread since those guys seem to have some good info and have been super helpful. I have a couple of ideas I'll post there.

At this point what I would recommend is to use the factory images for it and attempt to restore it to full stock before trying to go any further.

[Q] please help me restore my One

Good day all
I have been running CM 10.2 on my One for some months. Recently its started playing up so ive decided to go back to stock.
Ive googled the process. Fastboot works OK and see's my One connected OK.
Im having issues figuring out what RUU I should be downloading. Initially I went for RUU_M7_U_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.2
After a number of minutes it failed and said something like it cannot use this on my phone. My phone is a UK purchased unlocked device. Can anyone point me at the correct RUUI should download?
Looking at the fastboot screen I can see that my OS is 2.24.401.8
hboot is 1.54.0000
Please, any pointers to get a stock OS installed and my device booting again.

You can flash this (compatible with your firmware, CID & MID): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-8-zip/
if you want to receive OTAs, you'll need to select "stock recovery" (which will overwrite custom recovery).

If you have unlocked bootloaders then download twrp or cwm and rename to recovery put the file in the fastboot folder.
Then type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
this will flash the custom recovery.

Do one thing install a custom rom like ARHD etc. and then S-off your phone using rumrunner.
This is going to be one of those jobs that just fails and all I end up with is a bricked phone.
I am a mac user and was using a windows XP VM to communicate with me phone using fast boot... When I try to push a recovery image XP fails badly and reboots...
I can't boot camp my mac because I'm running without a CD drive and boot camp needs a CD drive before installation.
Any tips on how to get my phone sorted using a mac?

1- just use mac versions of fastboot & adb, i believe you can find them here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365506
(or google for them)
2- do you care about having your phone "out-of-the-box"? that entails much more work. Can you live with an UNLOCKED or RELOCKED bootloader, and possibly the TAMPERED sign?
3- if you don't care about ^^ (2), then just use the Guru Reset ROM, i linked before.
get adb and fastboot working on mac, then in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter recovery
adb push <name of guru>.zip /data/media/0/
then in recovery choose "install" and select the Guru Reset ROM.
Ok so i reloaded the recovery image. Rebooted and hey presto Cyanogenmod 10.2 loaded again. Phone is now working BUT I would still like to go back to stock.
With that in mind I followed your instructions above and tried to load the Guru zip on to the SDCARD. The ADB process finishes and it says its copied the file over but I can never seem to find it whe i load the recovery and try to install from a zip file.
Questions. Am I right in thinking I can continue to load the Guru zip to attempt to get back to stock?
What am i doing wrong?

if your phone is booting up again
just copy the guru.zip to the phone storage from your mac
no need to "push" if your phone is booting up
To confirm, I am now copying the zip over.
Is there a chance of me bricking the phone again or will the Guru zip return the phone to stock and allow OTA updates?

yeah the Guru reset was designed to put the phone back to stock
it uses an Aroma installer .. choose Stock Recovery to be able to receive OTA in the future. but you won't be able to flash any custom roms or Root with the stock recovery
that seemed to do the trick. phone is back stock.
after initial setup t imediately downloaded and installed a small update. rebooted and then asked to download another 4.3 675mb big update. that one seemed to reset the devce to new again. after setup the 2nd time i can see it didnt work as the phone was as if i had just completed the guru install...
thoughts?

Don't know why they are failing but 2.7.0.0 and 2.7.1.0 have caused problems before. And some people say that 2.7.1.1 can cause issues, I didn't have issue with it but not all phones are created equal. You can try 2.7.1.2, I have used it for the past month or so. I read the OP on the port and they stated the lastest TWRP but you could try the 2.6.3.3 if you cannot get the others to work. I am also assuming that you have a GSM phone not Sprint or Verizon.

Lets check the basics:
** Double check the MD5 of the recovery to see if it downloaded properly
** Place the recovery.img in the adb/fastboot folder
** Fast boot is disabled in Settings >> Power >> Fast boot
** Boot into Bootloader/FASTBOOT USB
** Type: fastboot devices
You should see your device listed.
** Type: fastboot flash recovery <file-name>.img Replace file name with the actual recovery name.
** Type: fastboot erase cache
** Type: fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now check to see if it worked!

Let try flashing the stock firmware for your phone.
** Find the unlock code you got from HTCDev when you unlocked your bootloader - "Unlock_code.bin" and place in your fastboot folder
** Download stock_firmware 5.11.401.10.zip and rename "firmware.zip" then place in your fastboot folder. Check the MD5: 3b7b13b52f75ed516c888b827710f29a
** Backup your phone to include all of your personal data and copy the files off of your phone.
** Put your phone in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB
Code:
fastboot erase cache
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Code:
[B][I]fastboot oem rebootRUU[/I][/B]
Note: You will see a silver HTC logo on the phone screen
Code:
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Note: This will fail with a please flush again message; repeat the same command:
Code:
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Note: The green bar on the phone may not go to 100% of the bar ... but If you see completed on your computer command window, wait for a few seconds and move on.
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Note: We need to unlock your bootloader to flash the custom recovery. Using your previous code:
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Now you should try to flash TWRP, I would try 2.7.1.1 or 2.7.1.2
Hopefully by flashing the stock firmware, it will clean up past flashes to allow the custom recovery to work.
But i'm s-on. I have unlock bootloader, but I Have s-on and I dont know my unlock Code, because before me whose had my HTC and he unlock my device

Here is a step by step guide to unlock your HTC One. There is also a video of the process here. It is pretty straight forward and if you encounter a problem just ask.
But I dont have unlock code and I cant get it

After the firmware update you have to unlock your bootloader before you can install TWRP. Follow this guide for unlocking your bootloader. It was in my earlier post. After you unlock the bootloader, reboot the phone into bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot devices[/I][/B]
** You should see your device listed.
Code:
[B][I]fastboot flash recovery <file-name>.img[/I][/B]
** Replace file name with the actual recovery name.
Code:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader

HTC One M7 Stuck in a Boot Loop

Alright, I recently purchased a phone that was stuck at the screen with the download icon in the arrow circle (http://forum.xda-developers.com/album.php?albumid=11886). When it is like this is can not be put into hboot. I then somehow got the phone into a boot loop. I did wipe the cache and that did not fix the problem. I did a factory reset via hboot, and it sent me back to the screen I mentioned before (http://forum.xda-developers.com/album.php?albumid=11886). I've now gotten the phone back into boot looping so I can access hboot. Recovery does work and you can access all the options. This phone is basically a stock HTC One M7. Has not been rooted, is locked, and it S-ON. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Could you link me to a tutorial? Apparently I need to know my MID and CID, and the video I did find to do that, needed usb debugging turned on in the settings which I don't even know if that is on. Can you link me to a how to tutorial for how to do this?

I bought it for a friend. He wanted something other than his locked up att samsung s4 active. He doesn't have much money and he figured he could fix this one and if he could't, he would just sell it again. I am personally used to iPhones (typing this on a jailbroken 4s right now) so this is all pretty new to me. We started troublesing it yesterday and he seemed to get stumped. He hates forums so I went ahead and signed up and made this post for him. Currently I have no access to a computer right now (at least one where I can install sdk and so on), but will have access later today. Will post when I have it.

Latest HTC driver here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/8pawcxm9walwras/HTC_Driver_4.14.0.001.exe
You can install minimal adb and fastboot instead of the complete sdk, will be easier to use for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
Once you have both installed, connect the phone to your computer, make sure its booted in bootloader mode --> fastboot mode and showing "fastboot usb" in red.
On your computer: Start menu --> Programs --> Minimal adb and fasboot --> minimal adb and fastboot
in the command prompt, type:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
copy and paste the output here (except the imei and s/n)
see you later

Ok well there is no RUU you can use with s-on so while the bootloader is locked all you can do is try to flash the current firmware. If the phone doesn't boot after that you will need to unlock the bootloader.
Download the firmware here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358543602 put the zip in your fastboot folder on your pc and rename it "firmware.zip" Now with fastboot usb connected in the bootloader flash the firmware with the following fastboot commands
Code:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem rebootRUU
case sensitive
Your phone will reboot to a black screen with silver HTC logo. This is ruu mode we can now flash the firmware.
Code:
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
The first flash is just a pre-update. The screen will go off and then return to ruu mode. Flash the zip again immediately.
Code:
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
The second flash will flash the firmware, the progress bar on the screen will not reach 100% this is normal as long as the command line has finished it's output it's done.
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now try to reboot the phone. If it doesn't boot you should now at least be able to do a factory reset. But you will need to unlock the bootloader at www.htcdev.com register an account and follow the instructions in the Unlock My Bootloader section. :good:

Now the bootloader is unlocked you will need to flash a custom recovery and install a new Rom.
Download this http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/m7/openrecovery-twrp-2.8.5.0-m7.img *<<<<< Put this in your fastboot folder and rename it recovery.img
Download this https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358545274
Boot the device to the bootloader and connect fastboot usb. Flash the recovery with fastboot
Code:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
When back in the bootloader select Recovery from the menu to load TWRP recovery. Before we do anything else a little spring cleaning. Select "Wipe" from the TWRP menu the "Format Data" You will be prompted to type yes to continue. When its done Select "Reboot" then "Reboot Recovery" You will see a message "No OS Installed" Reboot anyway and say No when asked to install supersu.
Now back in TWRP recovery you should be able to see the Internal Storage on your PC. Copy the rom file to the Internal Storage then from the TWRP menu select install and choose the rom .zip :good:
During the install with Aroma choose these options
Stock Radio = Yes
Stock Recovery = Yes
Root = No
When the install is completed reboot the device and hopefully it should boot up normally without any problems :good: :fingers-crossed:
P.S The first boot after a new flash can take an extended amount of time. Don't be supprised if it's stuck on the HTC logo screen for 15 minutes+ Just be patient

For s-off he will have to use Sunshine App it's the only working method for hboot 1.57. It does cost $25 but It's very easy. Just install and run the app :good:
Rooting can be done a number of ways the 2 easiest are to allow TWRP to install SupeSu when leaving recovery. Or you can install root with the Guru reset rom by selecting root during the installer. Also if he want's to keep the TWRP recovery don't take the stock recovery during the rom install.

Unable to mount /cache and /system happens during format or after? Did you reboot recovery after the format?
When you exit recovery TWRP will detect wheather or not the device is rooted. If it's not rooted TWRP will ask if you want to install supersu to root the phone. Say yes and TWRP will install root.
Although you could just install root when you install the rom. Just install with these options instead
Stock = Recovery No
Stock = Radio Yes
Root = Yes

When you format data it is like repartitioning the phone. All the partitions are gone until you reboot. That's the reason they won't mount

If you want to update your phone, why are you trying to unlock its bootloader? Do you have re-locked your bootloader with a custom recovery installed? Unlocking the bootloader will wipe /data/preload folder and preventing the ota update to install... I do not really understand what you are trying to do here because you are not giving much information about the actual state of your phone...
Is your phone running the stock rom?
You have relocked the bootloader with a custom recovery?
please post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (remove imei and serialno before posting)

i can do flash unlock_code.bin, then it just deletes everything and im starting a fresh htc. In bootloader it then says tampered and relocked + s-on, it wont unlock it and even that it is locked, it wont update it to the newest official OTA update (7.19.401.2 / 804.78MB).
When it tries to enter recovery it isay: TAMPERED, RELOCKED and Security Warning , it just goes in the bootloader and not recovery.

do you have a custom recovery installed ?
if so, the only way you can unlock the bootloader is to flash the stock firmware to put stock recovery back on, you cant lock or relock the bootloader with custom software on your phone.
Stock firmware here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95832962473395871
i had custom recovery, but i flashed stockrecovery on it. Must have bricked the recovery somehow, because now i have no reecovery. If i try to flash the recovery i get this, no matter if i try to flash custom or stock recovery:
D:\adb>fastboot flash recover recovery_6.09.401.5.img
target reported max download size of 1514139648 bytes
sending 'recover' (12570 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.519s]
writing 'recover'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 2.767s
maybe because its locked, and i cant unlock it.

yup, beacuse your bootloader is locked, only way to fix it is to flash the firmware, is there anything on the phone internal storage that you need to keep, pictures, musci, documents etc ?

with the phone in fastbootUSB mode and the zip in the same folder as adb and fastboot on your computer, issue these commands:
ps: its easier if you rename the download to just firmware rather than M7_UL_Firmware_6.09.401.11
fastboot oem rebootRUU (case sensetive) phone screen will go black with silver HTC logo
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (first time it might say failed: please flush again) so issue the command again
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
make sure it now says successful at the bottom - this is important
if so then,
fastboot reboot-bootloader
if not report back here first
when you get back to the bootloader, try and unlock it again, you may have to go back to HTCDev site and get a new unlock token.

ok follow these instructions I laid out for someone else if your looking to return to stock, they are exactly the same for your phone as your on the same firmware:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59273464&postcount=4
ps. you dont need to lock or relock your bootloader to update, you only need locked or relocked whilst s-on to flash firmware or run an RUU.

use firmware for when you have problems like you did earlier or if your s-off, earlier RUU's are only if your phone is S-off and saves all this messing around, its full firmware and rom in one package, if you were s-off, then we could of just flashed the corrisponding firmware to an RUU, ran the RUU, you'd then be 100% factory stock, just boot and update from there.
theres a bit more to it than just stock recovery, your rom has to be 100% stock, no root, no custom kernals or anything like that, no removed stock apps.
trouble is, when you unlock the bootloader, it deletes a hidden folder (data/preload folder) its HTC's little way of say, now you've unlocked, you can never update with us again, that backup will put all of that back on your phone.

try it, but I think you'll have to follow that whole post of mine that I linked you too, superSU modifies system files to root, so the OTA may error out.
if it does error, you'll have to start from here "what you need to do is flash TWRP 2.8.5.0 from here:" and follow every step, you wont need that firmware that you downloaded earlier again, just dont lock your bootloader.

same files for your phone, have a look at the version main on your fastbootgetvar all on the first page 6.09.401.11 that download is the same version main, M7_UL_TWRP_Nandroid_6.09.401.11_(inkl._preload-Ordner).rar and this part means it contains the data/preload folder (inkl._preload-Ordner)

[Q] hboot 1.44.00 and can't move forward nor backwards

Hi everyone
Been on Cyanogenmod 11-20140424-NIGHTLY-M7 for far too long and wanted to either upgrade Cyanogenmod or, better yet, move to Viper. I'm somewhat skilled with Windows and Linux, but I can't seem getting things to work.
What I've got:
HTC One M7 (unbranded, bought in Switzerland)
Unlocked S-ON
hboot: 1.44.0000
M7-UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
RADIO-4A.14.3250.13
OpenDSP-v26-120-274-0202
CID: HTC_102
It's rooted and got CWM ROM-Manager installed
Notebook with Windows 8.1, USB 3.0 all around
What I've tried so far:
Getting S-OFF
- Did not work. revone throws an ERROR=1 at me when I try to ./revone -P. I've tried like a hundred times, with su and all.
Then I tried to relock and get an RUU on it:
- Relocking did not work. Neither with revone (./revone -l or -r is successful on the CLI, but does nothing, i.e. still says *** UNLOCKED *** in the bootloader), nor with fastboot...
- ... as fastboot does not work, either. Tried different drivers and all, but fastboot always says < waiting for device >. So fastboot oem lock achieved nothing, either.
Then I just tried to install an RUU to get to JB and hboot 1.55 to then continue with rumrunner. This got stuck at some boot-image showing the HTC logo and the .exe cancelled.
Is USB3.0 breaking my neck here or do I have any other options to get to ViperOne?
Thanks in advance...
From what i've read in here many times, hboot 1.44 isn't compatiable with windows 8. 1. You need to use a windows 7 machine.

Windows 8 and hboot 1.44 are not compatible. You should use Windows 7 or better still Linux (preferably ubuntu 32bit)
Sent from my M7 ARHD 84-Kitkat
OK, got my hands on a Linux notebook and managed the relock the bootloader. This led to only being able to boot into Bootloader, Recovery and ROM did always boot into Bootloader.
Then I tried to get a RUU with JB4.3 on the device to be able to run rumrunner on hboot 1.55.
#sudo fastboot flash zip RUU.zip
sending 'zip' (1065710 KB)...
OKAY [ 59.411s}
writing 'zip' ...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 171.238s
Now I unlocked the bootloader again to at least be able to boot into CYM again.
Meh, I'm kinda lost here. I feel confused about RUUs, CIDs, Nandroid Backups and where to go from here.
Any ideas?

Download this recovery. http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/m7/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
Put the file in your fastboot folder.
Download this Rom. Put the zip in your fastboot folder and rename it rom.zip
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_1-29-401-13-zip/
Flash the recovery with fastboot
Code:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Select recovery from the bootloader menu. While in TWRP recovery. Push the Rom. Type
Code:
adb push rom.zip /sdcard
The command window will appear unresponsive until the push us complete. Do a full wipe and install the Rom. During the install setup choose these options.
Stock recovery = yes
Stock radio = yes
Root = No
You will now have full stock Rom and recovery. Reboot the device and go to settings>about>Software Updates. Download and install the OTA update. Repeat process untill your on JB 3.xx.401.x firmware. Then use rumrunner to gain s-off. :good:

This didn't work. While in TWRP, adb was not able to connect. Funnily enough, flashing TWRP*allowed me to boot into CYM again. Activated USB*Debugging and allowed the Host to connect, but still no luck in TWRP.
But since I*had access again I* just copied the Guru image over USB*to the Sdcard, booted back into TWRP*and installed the ROM*manually.

Another adventure... In the official instructions it says unlocked OR*rooted, so I*did not bother with rooting.
rumrunner then failed and damaged Recovery leading to not being able to boot into TWRP*and thus being unable to install SuperSu zip.
Had to reflash recovery, install SuperSu and run rumrunner again... Which again failed (becuase the screen was off, I did not see that ADB*Shell requested root).
After a couple of tries now it worked ^_^
Thanks a lot for your explanations.
Now I just have to find out how to get to Firmware 5.0.2 to install the latest ViperOne.
Edit:*When I try to run the OTA*update to 4.19.401.11 it just boots into Recovery

You need stock rom and recovery to install OTA updates. You can just flash the rom again with stock recovery to take further OTAs.
But as your now s-off you can just flash the firmware manually. You don't need to re lock the bootloader again. That's only for s-on users.
You can download the rest of the firmware updates here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=32777
You must flash at least one zip for each firmware version. I.e if your on 3.xx.401.x then you have to flash
4.xx.401.x
5.xx.401.x
6.xx.401.x
7.xx.401.x
Then you can flash twrp and install a lollipop rom. You should have the rom on the internal storage before you start as the device won't boot after flashing the firmware as it will replace the stock boot.img. So you will need to flash a rom before it will boot. :good:
Commands for flashing the firmware zip as follows.
Code:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip "name-of-firmware".zip
fastboot flash zip "name-of-firmware".zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Flash TWRP, Install Rom, Done :good:

See my edited post above. You can't just flash the latest firmware. It might work but there's a risk of bricking your phone if you skip firmware versions

Ahh yes. Well, another interesting one going through the firmware updates. Going from 5.xx to 6.xx nearly killed my phone. Screen went black no matter how long I*pressed the power button and connecting through USB*mounted some strange folders on the device.
Luckily found Dexter's thread and his unbricking script solved the problem:

Now ViperOne is updating, yay ^__^
