Difference between S9000 and Nexus S?

Can someone tell me what the big difference is between the Nexus S and the Galaxy S9000?
I know the Nexus S has NFC and a LED flash - but what are the differences in performance and battery life?

Cousin sold the SGS and bought a NS recently, so I played with it. What to say ? Build quality is great, SGS is a plastic toy compared to it. System is faster, because it doesn't have the crappy moviNAND like SGS (so no microlags) + also AOSP Android helps with that. There's no 720p video recording though and no 3G video call. The SLCD screen aint that bad, AMOLED on SGS still prettier though. Performance regarding apps & games is the same on both (same hardware), battery usage also (same battery size). Anything else ? If you're deciding between those 2, go for NS.

No my friend ! Bacause of shortage of super amoled screens samsung used lcd screen in nexus s for many countries ( i am from india and its lcd here) ! Also the processor is same in both galaxy s and nexus s but nexus s is a bit thivk also internal memory is just 4gb while galaxy s has 16gb! I dont think that nfc has gr8 use in the near future so dont compare in terms of nfc ! I also had the same choice and i chose galaxy s! But for a fact i must tell you that nexus s will be the first phone to be upated to ice cre sandwhich when it comes out ! Bit still go for galaxy s ! Its the best ! Also development of roms and all that stuff is more on galaxy s and in some countries nexus s has thr bootloader locked which can be unlocked but requires some work !

Some people just like to flame others, and ruin the community of XDA.
Honestly there isn't much difference. Nexus S gets stuff first, but the SGS eventually gets the same FW anyway.
Actually I like the SGS more anyway, since the Nexus S doesn't have Micro SD and that's an automatic dealbreaker for me...

Samsung or LG?

Recently I had some problems with my rooted SGA, it restarts constantly because of the RAM I think, it heated constantly without having the charger plugged every 10 minutes, its slow with every game and some apps.
Yesterday a friend told me that his LG Optimus One didn't heated anytime, it was very fast, and it never rebooted itself and he didn't had any problem with it,
What smartphone brand is better?
Samsung or LG
Or if you think another one is better than this two ones, tell me your reasons please, because im thinking seriously about changing my smartphone (Android) and phone company... (México Telcel, its very expensive...)

You can just set your cpu to 480-806 govenor: SmartAZZv2/performance
Install chainfire 3d
Add a script like adrenilline engine/slaidy boost

If you still want Samsung, then go get their High-End Devices coz if not, you'll get a crappy support (like everyone's experiencing right now) .. they are known for that anyway ..
About LG, never tried it yet ..

For me it's either HTC or Sony.

My preference is Samsung. LG has the worst and ugliest interface I have ever seen but touchwiz is better!
And LG copies Samsung in many aspects. It does not have good software also.

-random restarts you need to change rom, haha
-slow ace, uninstall crap apps
Keep youre device clean and only with few apps if u want it for games.

Yeah HTC if you get rid of sense, not a big fan of it but hardware wise HTC are good.

Well from my experience, used all of them i guess
1. Samsung--- only go for high end phones. for lower end phones, support sucks. Though service centers are great and that way support is good.
2.LG--- Same as samsung. Update wise sucks but service wise sucks too
3.HTC-- Great UI. But customer support sucks
4.Sony-- Great UI. Good hardware. Best on updates. Service support good. ****

The Xperia Ray is pretty good, 1 Ghz Qualcomm, 100 g, around the same price, all the above mentioned things about sony phones, better battery life, unreal pixel density compared to our ace and an 8 MP camera to top it off. In Singapore, unlocked it's about $50-80 more expensive than the ace so it's about $350++ Singapore dollars, about $300 USD estimated. It's pretty darn good for it's price.

Try to go for the latest nxt series by sony. I hope xperia sola will fit in price range or xperia P

Buyer needs advice

Hi guys, I think there is quite an unbelievable offer for Austria Hutchinson users. Basically you get this phone for 69€ on a 20€ x 24 months contract. With the contract you get also 1000 minutes 1000 SMS and Internet unlimited so should be fine. Before I saw that I thought of sticking to my galaxy s for a while.
Now that said I would love to take it as long as the offer lasts, but I am concerned about 3 things:
a) i am a custom Rom user since 2 years. Never been on stock again. And I looooooove cyanogenmod! Do you think there will be custom roms for this?
b) the camera quality. While I'm not too much concerned about the video quality, I use my phone as a compact camera outside to take pictures. So how bad is it in your opinion? And do you think will it improve with upcoming updates?
c) you know something about the possibility of unlocking this phone?
I guess probably I'm asking too much but maybe someone knows better.

I would think so. It just got rooted and CM10 develoeprs are already playing with it asfaik.

It's only an okay camera, there's better, the Galaxy 3 has a better one for instance, not by that much, but clearly. No idea if this is a hardware limitation, but I'd guess so.

No idea ... but I guess with root you should be able to do more or less anything,e specially, once CWM etc are there? But I'm no pro.

We have root and CWM now, devs are working on CM10 and 4.0.4 Sense 4.1, so soon we'll have great ROMs :laugh:
And i think we'll have unlocked bootloader soon too.

I was asking because I've never owned anything but Motorola Androids and they have locked bootloaders. Ive never seen this phone in person and the reviews online only show the white one, so I asked here for this awesome community's opinion...
Also I like grilled chicken but prefer steak. Hate root beer, and if I lived anywhere it would be 'MERICA. Ill be sure to visit Mumbai sometime though maybe we can have a beer together.

Is LG policy still suck and unreliable? Since the older models like O2X said to not get ICS!
Yesterday I saw it in the market ,and it has the same price as HOX , I saw some comparison which end by no winner, yet the HOX really has a good support by both the company & xda community ,so from a fear comparison aspect ,which yr choice in case of : screen,camera quality and shutter speed ,video quality(some said its better in the OneX even with has low fps compared to O4X! ), and battery, thx ahead

This is not an answering machine...
Personally, I chose the LG because it has exchangable battery and micro SD slot. They both have Tegra 3 and good displays, so it's no big difference hardware-wise. HTC has a large fanbase, so you'll have more custom roms on the HOX, plus the possibility to unlock your bootloader with HTCdev. LG might learn and do something similar, but as they're not open in saying what they do, no one can tell.

I was checking on eBay yesterday cuz I want a LG O4X and saw there was a developer version kinda like the Razr has one too... can anyone confirm this?

Video is worse
Photo is worse
Screen quality and ppi also worse
So i think i had very big wrong Samsung only care S3 others seem all waste
I think i ll change phone soon because i cant see any good part in in phone S Advance

I tested 4 roms in this forum and really wanted to help but couldnt.. I couldnt solve any prob. I cant understand why wait jb for dev. So i think S Advance is new and wont be so populer cuz of samsung build ace 2 and s3 mini...

Actually I'm also quite disappointed and regretted that I brought this phone, I was scammed to pay extra and the phone seems to be like have some internal injury in it. And also, the Graphic possessor seems to have some problems, games like splinter cell conviction, tom Clancy's hawx, running angry granny and arcane empires have black and white graphics only, some still don't work even though I used ChainFire 3D, can someone try these games to see if you all have this black and white graphic problems? Hope it isn't only me..

I tried most of the games u said maybe u having lower performance cuz of Ram try some task killer to have free ram memory says 768 mb ram but user can use about 500 and os use about 300 so u have only 200-250 mb free ram if dont turn on any app and game..

I think development will start when JB update will reach us. But if not... I will probably sell this phone.

I don't understand you guys, crying all over for so small things that 2 or 3 games have some graphic bugs..
this is a "s2 lite", it's screen is awesome, the phone is super smooth even with stock rom, dual-core cpu, very good gpu etc.. Try using galaxy mini, or ace 1-2, zte, alcatel even htc one v.. the list is soooo long. And you won't say stupid things again.
The only real problem is development, other than that this is an awesome phone. And in january official jelly bean will come, and I'm sure some developers will start working on 4.2 too, and some tweaked 4.1 roms. But even with gingerbread, you're not missing so much things.. browing experience, watching films, playing games, music, and these everyday things are already very good on this phone. There are some shiny things in 4.1, google now, face unlock, other cool features, but it will come in january, that's not much of a wait from now on - (my only fear that gaming or the system will be slower - smoother and slower lol - but I think samsung knows what they're doing) For now I want my varranty, so I won't be using costum roms for a time - yes I know that I can keep binary counter down, but meh, stock is good for know, I don't miss any features, and the phone is super smooth. (in fact, it lags less than my friend's S2 with stock ics which is weird, but I think that's because he bloated the phone ?

Sory friends.. I didnt say Ray is much better but really have big problems you ll see this we will have dev problem cuz samsung produced 3-4 different name of this phone so how can it be populer ? Everyday samsung made new phone same functions and i m getting angry to myself cuz of this..

Well this is midrange phone got in the middle of S and SII. That's why it is not so popular. Now most devs get top models. There are so many custom ROMs for SII, why you didn't get that phone?

Dont prefer cuz S2 is bigger and worse screen resulation and lower battery life.. S3 is also bigger i like smaller phones..

Worse screen resolution? Both have 480x800.
Bigger? 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5 mm - 123.2 x 63 x 9.7 mm. If 2mm is much bigger...

S2 screen is bigger and same resulation in bigger screen gives lower display quality i mean lower ppi..

Contract Upgrade Time

Hey Guys
It's time for an upgrade on my contract and wondered if you could give opinions on the Sony Xperia SP and if it's worth upgrading to over the note? It seems to have better specs but haven't seen many reviews.

Well i dont think xperia SP will be satisfactory for you, after having a note for such a long time. I wouod say to givw it a trial first, then decide to get it. Yes u have other options like htc one, s4 and if ur in a hurry note 2. If u can wait then moto X or maybe note 3.

by SPECS i meant the almost equal dual core processor and same resolution camera and almost everything being the same...
