I believe so, that's why I got an AHD, only camera hardware is different.
I may be wrong, I've done some research.

Depends on which Galaxy S III http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Motorola-ATRIX-HD,Samsung-Galaxy-S-III,Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-AT-T/phones/5718,6330,7131

oh ok i know i saw that somewhere lol, yea the ahd and gs3 do have the same soc with differences in ram but i always wondered why the ahd lags so much when updating or anything to do with storage and the gs3 is usually lag free, i guess the ram makes the difference

i will recommend u to buy S2.
nut also see the user rewiews abt each phone.
they might help u a lot
Galaxy S2. Why?
Galaxy S2 has a Faster CPU
Dual Core Exynos 1.2ghz is A LOT faster than Dual Core 1.2ghz TI OMAP 4460
Galaxy S2 has a Faster GPU
Not only the Galaxy Nexus has a slower/older GPU, but it is a slower GPU on a device with a lot more pixels. Bad combo. Expect noticeable difference on any moderate GPU intensive app. People are saying how the Galaxy Nexus runs graphic tests slowly because it is not optimized. This is true. Keep in mind that pretty much the Galaxy Nexus is the only phone with 1280 x 720 resolution right now, and the apps, to get the full potential of the screen will have to be optimized. Realistically all apps will not be optimized at first for the Galaxy Nexus. And slowly they might become optimized. And some may never be optimized because it is up to the developer. Also, after optimization, remember it has more pixels to process with slower hardware than the Galaxy S2.
Galaxy S2 has a better rear Camera
8MP > 5MP
Sure it is not all about megapixels, but did anyone say 8MP on the S2 was bad? Not at all, it is fantastic. 5MP sensor on the Galaxy Nexus might be a great sensor but it is a downgrade in image quality from the 8MP galaxy S2 sensor. I'm sure the Galaxy Nexus 5MP sensor is better than a lot of other 8MP sensors out there though.
Galaxy S2 has a better front facing camera
From my personal experience 1.3MP front facing cameras on the older Samsung Galaxy S has been one of the most unimpressive cameras I've ever encountered. Galaxy Nexus is most likely using the same 1.3MP camera. I can say that the Galaxy S2 front facing camera is a lot better than the older Galaxy S front facing camera by using the mirror feature on the OS.
Galaxy S2 has Super AMOLED Plus (Better than Super AMOLED (Pentile) on the Galaxy Nexus)
Might be less important because of pixel density, but take it from a user who has used a Galaxy U (a Galaxy S with a higher pixel density because of the smaller 3.7" screen...~252 PPI) and used it for a whole year. You would think with a higher pixel density like that you can't see the checkerboard pattern? Wrong, it is visible. Clearly visible when white lines are visible on the black background. Are there white lines common on black background on android devices? Duh! But you'll get used to it like you get used to scratches on your glasses. Maybe ICS will mask the ugliness with the blue glow.
Galaxy S2 has microSDHC (comfirmed to be compatible with microSDXC) slot while Galaxy Nexus has none.
So right now, you can put an additional 64GB card on the Galaxy S2 on top of the 16GB. The Galaxy Nexus will be locked to 16 or 32GB. Galaxy S2 might one day support up to 2TB, but more realistically, people will be carrying 128GB and 256GB cards during the lifecycle of the Galaxy S2 device.
Galaxy S2 has been announced to get Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS 4.0 update.
Sure if you get the Galaxy Nexus, you can have ICS for 6 months maybe. But is it worth the sacrifice of hardware? Software you can upgrade. Hardware cannot be changed.
Galaxy S2 has native DviX/XviD/MKV support. On Galaxy Nexus you will need to do software decoding which is much slower. A lot of times the HD videos are too slow for watching videos.
The Galaxy Nexus will be able to play 1080p h264 files, but it will certainly not be able to play any 1080p mkv or divxes like the Galaxy S2.
Advantages of Galaxy Nexus
Galaxy Nexus has a bigger screen. I hear it is awesome by all accounts.
Galaxy Nexus has a much higher resolution
I bet people are drooling with the thoughts of watching 720p videos natively on the device. But they are forgetting that it has to be encoded in h264. So basically you have to shoot the video yourself, or encode it yourself because 720p h264 is not as popular of a format than 720p and 1080p mkv files that Galaxy Nexus doesn't support. This will be a serious letdown for many thinking they can just download any HD content and watch it on their device.
Galaxy Nexus has a lag free camera
A lot of people are speculating ICS 4.0 will bring a lag free/near lag free camera to a lot of devices. So this may be only a short lived advantage, just like ICS being a reason to buy a Galaxy Nexus.

Umm..well I don't think so it will ever lose support 'because it's an evergreen phone..
S3 doesn't need any development in my opinion
SGII will keep getting plenty of attention, just compare XDA activity for something like HTC Amaze or Motorola Atrix.

Better hardware bigger screen I'd say yes but are you referring to the regular S4 or S4 Active? Either way I still think the newer S4s are better.

S4 Active is better than the S3. S3 is better than original S4 in my opinion. My daughter has an S3 and I had the original S4 before I got my Active and I thought the S4 was extremely laggy. I compared both and I liked her phone better. Just a opinion here, no need for anyone to flame.

Same here. I am using a regular s4 and I find it laggy , my old note 2 was way more fluid.

I would agree with you if you compare the S3 Stock TW, vs the S4 Stock TW, i, but when both were running Nova Launcher, the S4 was definately smoother than the S3. Theres also a small bit of lag in 3D applications on the S3 that isnt present on the S4, and a few random frameskips making 2D applications not smooth on the S3. Those minor problems is what mainly bugged me with the S3, and i'm happy they arent present in the S4.
I dont know i mean the S4 I9500 is laggy and the S4 I9505 is much more fluid but when i use my girlfriends S3 then i feel a huge diffrence in proformance because the hardware is old and the S4 feels more fluid my answer is S4 I9505
Sent from my GT-I9505G using xda app-developers app
I have the regular s4 and I have to say that after having the s3 , and the galaxy note 2 is a disappointment.
I'd say the s4 runs far more laggish than both note 2 and s3.
I suppose this may very well be different in a couple of months with the developers in the scene but right now it is like it it's

[Q] Has anyone tried the 128GB Micro SD card in their Z1 yet?

As the title states, now I know that our devices say that they support up to 64GB but I have seen other phones (a long time ago, Desire HD and the like) using memory cards they were never designed to be used with, just wanted to know if anyone had tried it and if so how did it go? Did it work did it make the phone any slower?
Sandisk has said that it's compatible but i'd just like to hear what people have experienced.
Cheers.

I highly doubt that it'll stay that price for long once it becomes mainstream, with 4K video set to become the standard over the next few years i'd expect people to be picking this sized memory card up soon so yea if you want to get in there early then 100 quid isn't that bad.
Bare in mind that the jump between iphone memory sets is £100 when a new one is released check the prices, 16GB 32GB and 64GB all £100 difference between them.
So not only would people pay this but they do already.
Not to mention that if you roll back time a little the 64GB card wasn't exactly cheap when it came on the scene.
Also this thread is a question, not a general discussion.
There's a huge difference between buying a 16GB-64GB phone, than buying a 16GB phone then buying a 128GB sd card, especially with kitkats limitations with sd cards

I don't know m8, i've been using foldermount for the really big apps and it's been superb up until now.
There isn't an app out there that I can't mount onto the SD with foldermount, not to mention the sheer amount of media that could be put on a 128GB sd card.
Plus if you've not used one then youre not answering my question either

I am so attempted to buy that card, and soon or later I will.
I have the card and is working fine. All I can say is that isn't fast. Max speed you will have is about 15/20 Mb/s writing(Rarely) as the Mobile Ultra. Honestly I prefer my 16 Gb Extreme Pro(I have had 104 Mb/s writing files).

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm merely saying that for the average user, anything more than a 32GB or 64GB is too expensive, and yes the price will come down, but then they'll develop 256GB, how long before we have terabyte cards? They already do terabyte pen drives but they're not affordable to the average user

Lol get some sleep mate, try it when you've got a few zzZZZzz's
I'll look into SDFix, it appears to be a very clean looking app, but as for the modification that it does, does it extend the usage of your internal memory or simply put the rules of the SD card back to the way that it was on 4.3 and previous versions? That's kind of what it says on their play store page.
If thats the case then it is different to folder mount which literally enables you to grab a folder from within your internal stoage and move it to the ext card then the previous folder can be deleted, 100% space back.

All I wanted to know was what people experience was with them, I honestly don't care about the price or whether or not it's too big for some people, everyone's different.
Also I don't need to re-read your post, I read your statement, which was no answer to what I had asked, it was simply your opinion and of no help to me, sorry.
128GB SD-Card speed issue on 4.4.4
I bought my 128gb-card yesterday and I noticed a HUGE speed difference between android 4.3 and 4.4.4. On 4.4.4 it's EXTREMELY slow, but the speed is good on 4.3. Anyone else facing this issue? My Roms are: 4.4.4 - slimkat AMD (evo 9) and 4.3 - romaur 1.2.
Try installing pimp my z1 and change some SD card read ahead and some different I/o schedulers

But yet, S3 LTE is way better than most of those cheaper models. and it is still sold as new here. It is a farce, because samsung floods market with different models.
besides. S3 LTE is about 2 years old model. not that old to quit all support.

@BruKnowsBest: You have been manipulated. Companies like Samsung have only one purpose, to sell as much as possible, but they also need to respect users. If I9305 is still being sold, they should update their software, or release codes for this device if they give a ****.

Need some suggestions and clarification.

I am using mi Pad 1 for almost a year. Now I am considering to buy a new tab. I have a budget of around 200$. Galaxy tab S2 8.0 Nook edition is available on eBay for around 200$. Should I buy it now or wait for Tab S3 release hopefully that will bring a price cut to original tab S2? Any suggestions on it would be helpful.
Is there any real difference between Tab S2 and S2 Nook?
Can I flash tab S2 ROMs on Nook edition?
It seems to be the exact same tablet from what I can tell after looking at the specs, the only difference seems to be the barnes and koble added digital freebies and apps. I have the original Samsung galaxy tab s2 and it's an amazing device so I would definitely go for it contigent upon what was just mentioned. The only awful thing about the tablet is the fingerprint reader, from what I read it's using the same technology as the s5 for this. As for roms yes I don't see why it would be an issue as it seems to be an identical tablet, I have the t715 model and as far as I'm aware there aren't any stable roms for it currently or if there is, there must be a very limited number since I can't really find any.
