What is OmniROM?
Why OmniROM ?
OmniROM Gerrit Review
Disclaimer
I will assume absolutely ZERO responsibility of anything that happens as a result of you flashing this ROM onto your device
You do this of your own free will and you acknowledge that whatever happens is YOU fault and NOT mine!
This ROM is in a very early stage of developmental, so not all of the features have been merged in yet
but new features are being added daily
Root access has not been incorporated into the ROM source yet, so you will need to flash SuperSU in recovery SuperSU
For all you Do-It-Yourself-ers, simply follow this guide to initialize a build environment and get your own builds started - OmniROM - Setting Up A Compile Environment

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why don't I have root access after installing OmniROM?
A: OmniROM does not have an official, prebuilt root method yet, so you'll just need to flash SuperSU in recovery and you'll have 100% working root access. SuperSU can be found here: SuperSU
Q: Where is <insert feature here>, like CM/AOKP/PA/etc have??
A: Omni is still very early in development, but moving at an incredibly fast rate. New feature, bug fixes, and device support are added just about daily. Check it out here: OmniROM Gerrit Review for the latest and greatest
Q: How do I start/stop screen recording?
A: Volume UP + Power will start screen recording. Simply drag the notification bar down and click the button to stop.
MAY NOT FULLY WORK YET.
Q: HALP something doesn't work!!
A: Please post a logcat. im still not a fully valid fortune teller.

yeah, xplod derped the repos (my fault because my repo was named lge-kernel-sniper haha) and renamed it afterwards, was too sleepy to change it yesterday
the difference is, this one is totally cleaned up, all my derps and unneeded changes are removed and all is reworked.
also no OC's or other highly experimental stuff.
though i think my velox ones are still compatible for OmniROM

still some stuffs wont work yet like WLAN, i have to redo it from scratch. same with camera.

So, do you suggest to work to improve the kernel in this post?

I was waiting to start this device back up untill there was a stable 4.4 for it.
And with your great contribution it looks like we are very very close to it right now
Keep up the great work and let's go for that stable 4.4? :victory:

What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
These are based on AOKP, my own nightly builds which are tested by me to ensure there are no major issues, I am using them as my daily ROM, My builds will have features added regularly.

Did you do a factory reset before installing ?
I know its the usual question but I gotta check.
Also what recovery are you using and what version ?
Have you had a 4.4.2 ROM on your phone before ?

Meta OS (5.0.2)
Meta-OS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. Meta-OS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for Meta-OS is available in the Meta-OS Github Repo.
Code:
#include

Great work! Been waiting for MIUI on Xperia V for several months now.
Just a question. If I provided you an optimized and thus really fast CM11 build, would it be possible to rebase MIUI on this? The result would be awesome for sure!

I think I could do that, yes.
Have not messed around with selinux yet, but I'm quite confident that I can help you.
Let's discuss the details via pm.

I wanna believe we`re gonna have stable MIUI.
I`ve been jealous of my gf`s mi3 running v6, and now I can do that exactly on my V
Btw, Neo youre gonna give your Neo-Kernel with Intelimm and all? It would definately make the build far more stable.
I guess, Miui should be cleaned of all chinese stuff. I flashed some MIUI ROMS on mi3
and here`s what russian guys decided to delete:
BaiduNetworkLocation.apk
GameCenter.apk
GameCenterSDKService.apk
MzInput2.apk
Userbook.apk
UserbookProvider.apk
VoiceAssist.apk
Mipay.apk
Galaxy4.apk
O2O.apk
HoloSpiralWallpaper.apk
GooglePinyin.apk
PhaseBeam.apk
VisualizationWallpapers.apk
LiveWallpapers.apk
NoiseField.apk
MiGameCenterSDKService.apk
GameCenter.apk

I'm afraid I cannot use my CM12 NeoKernel source for CM11, so I'd have to merge all features and this is too time-consuming (for now ).
However, I'm quite tempted to switch to MIUI6 myself - and if I do, I'll create a new, stable NeoKernel for this ROM and CM11 in general. :good:
By the way, this is the CM11 base for the new version.
As my phone is fullly formatted in F2FS, including sdcard and internal storage, I've had a bootloop when flashing this.
Would anyone mind to test if it boots?
Here's the link:
EDIT: Link removed, was not booting.
Thanks in advance ^^

Will do in the evening.
Btw, if you could give me some links or advices on how to build a kernel I`d dedicate hell a lot of time to it. Or if you need something to compile-my machine will perform it`s best.

No need to test, as I'm quite sure that another issue is the reason for the bootloop.
Will need some more work.
If you want to get started with kernel development, it would be best to have a look at this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2152819
Then, check out the commits of known custom kernel devs at GutHub and you're good to go. :good:

[ROM][WIP] osprey AOSP 6.0.x

Hello all,
I'm trying to port an AOSP ROM to the osprey, I already made some steps but would need some help from much better skilled devs.
Here is the code: https://github.com/motogaosp
The manifest: https://github.com/motogaosp/android_manifest
At the moment the ROM starts without big problems but there are some errors while booting up.
Feel free to participate, fork the code, send pull request or whatever you think can help the project, the goal would be to have a clean AOSP ROM for our osprey.
Working:
WiFi
Bluetooth
Back camera
Front Camera
Touchscreen
Sensors:
Accelerometer
Light
Magnetic field
Orientation
Proximity
NOT working:
Sound
RIL
Mobile data (LTE/3G)
GPS

is it 100% aosp without any cm patches?
Yes, from CM I use (for the moment) the build scripts part as it has all the stuff needed to include qcom repositories but this does not affect on Android itself.

Any idea when will we have download link?
As you as a moderator knows already xda doesn't accept place holder.

I don't think it's particularly considered a place holder when the source code and manifest has been posted in search for assistance to get to a user capable produce. Works In Progress are allowed and maybe the current developer finds it moot to release a link publicly that's just going to flood his thread with endless.... ("WTF, Why this no work? U said unfished product, but it have problems, I no approve") ..... yeah stuff like that.
..and the most stupid question is:

No problem brother. And thanks for answering. It's was a real pleasure to know of this project. Good luck!
Count me in, this is essentially what I've been working on with my build.
With the addition of all RRO commits but for now I'd like clean as well, I'll start forking this weekend. Thanks for this! Big help having other devs bring aosp for our device.
man , count me in ,im happy to help . I can configure the aroma installer for it ?

Honestly I don't think that Aroma installer would be so useful on AOSP ROM btw, feel free to work on it.
If someone wants to give me some more in depth instructions on initiating a build and where to find the proper Dev tree and vendor files for Marshmallow I'd be more than willing to help with development. Since Xenon HD is AOSP base we at least know it's doable. The only bugs with that ROM are that WiFi refuses to turn back on after a soft reboot, and the GPS is damn near inoperable.
I don't know much about building Android per se, but it's something I've been thinking about getting into. I may not be able to be much of a help but I'm certainly willing to learn.

yee! Finally got a fully booting ROM! :good: :good:
Today/tomorrow will try fix BT, WiFi and other stuff.

Here's a push to start guys, take your time to read read read. Once you're done these just rifle ROM build questions at Google and check out other devices for an idea on how the structure works.
( Senior member but am still extremely new at building, no public builds just small CM stuff but these guides helped me put a lot together. )

Is this using msm8916 kernel source?
(I can see the screen, just unsure if custom built.)

I started from Motorola sources (https://github.com/MotorolaMobilityLLC/kernel-msm/tree/marshmallow-6.0.0-release-osprey) and then picked some patches from https://github.com/moto8916/android_kernel_motorola_msm8916 to get the kernel booting.
Dude, you are making really quick progress. Yesterday all I saw working was the touchscreen & cameras, now we have WiFi and Bluetooth up and running? At this rate we may have a fully working AOSP ROM in no time, thanks to you!

This rom is based on Official Lineage trees by Abhishek.
This is to provide you guys an option as I was getting so many requests from my friends to continue my RR builds with his trees.

Format everything if you are coming from the Stock ROM.
8.1 Custom ROM Flashing Guide:
1. Flash ROM zip
2. Go to Twrp reboot options and switch to another slot (ex. if you are on slot_a then switch to slot_b)
*Do not reboot*
3. Flash latest Twrp installer
4. Reboot into Twrp recovery
5. Flash latest Magisk + Gapps zip (platform ARM64 + Android 8.1 + Variant (all gapps will work))
6. Reboot to system
THE BEST FEATURE OF THIS ROM:
1. Fast & Furious
2. Better stability and performance
3. Hissing Sound totally fixed while using your Headphone (now n'joy your favorite music at the fullest)
4. In-Call volume improved a lot (perhaps better than the Stock now )
5. What else you tell us!
I'll update some useful MOD here, so keep watching this post :silly:

Can I dirty-flash this (just by wiping the system) over the official RR?
what is the reason of this unofficial build?

Don't do that, as both based on different DT (Device Tree)
Recommended Clean Flash, but yes you can do dirty-flash once you start using this Nightly Rom, as this Rom will be updated on a daily basis!!!

In my opinion and as long as I am in XDA developers, we are not allowed to post double thread with the same ROM event you use different trees there except you are have permission with the first one. Even you are not allowed the one who first build with this. And this should be closed by the moderator.
If you wanna get more thanks by doing this things, there are still other roms that are not yet available on our device, and you can build them.

No offense but in my knowledge it possible if DAV keep difference between ROMs ' I'v seen that in this forum and other forum to. there is lineage rom exist. Lineage unofficial by abhishek and lineage extended by brijes. in other forum cyanogenmod official and cyanogenmod linero sabermod.
Correct me please I'm just a learner.

Wow ?
Just change name to RR extended or something.
You're making some serious bold claims in your thread
"Hissing sound totally fixed"
I'll see if this is true but i doubt it since it's an impedance issue
EDIT: Nope, still the exact same hissing as before
Stop with these BS claims
Headphone's hissing is entirely hardware and CANNOT BE FIXABLE BY SOFTWARE
