Welcome to CMB Roms- CM done Better... Dark Themed for his/her Pleasure
Why CMB?
We are just better , in a nutshell we set out to give you the best of CM, with none of the annoying features (see list below), all this wrapped in a custom black theme. We used the KISS principal when deciding what to offer, we based our frameworks on CM alone (not FrankenFrameworks like some others out there), enabling us to provide updates and bug fixes as soon as CM does. This doesn't mean we are only relying on them for development, it just eases merging.
Features
Based on Android 4.4.2_r1, CM11.0
All current features CM11.0
Customized Dark Holo Theme With Gray ActionBars
Dark Mms
Dark Calendar
Dark Contacts
Ramdisk security tweaks, you can adb as root now!
Bash "tab to complete"
Remount helper, in adb shell
Old
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /system
New
Code:
remount /system
Better Right??
We plan to add more features, suggestions are welcome (but sometimes ignored )

Developer Comments
I am very pleased to be the first to offer a custom rom for the LG GPad 8.3 (V500)! This should be considered and early preview as there are some device hardware bugs (see issue list below), and rom tweaks (like theme) maybe forthcoming.
Drgravy and I have been working together (we both own this tablet) to get a device tree together. The tree is an amalgam of my own own work, drgravy's, and some from CM's forthcoming release
Special Thanks to @djrbliss for his bootloader patch LOKI this wouldn't be possible without it!

you need the updated twrp
the one called: twrp2.6.3.1.lok

hey, thanks a lot for your effort and the FIRST custom-rom for this great tablet
one question tho - could you provide a fully unthemed version?

Can i ask a question? If there is no combo key to enter recovery, how can i enter into recovery in case of a semi brick? Can you boot into recovery with adb and the tablet turned off?

Got Root?
things are working very well ad running good. However, is this ROM not rooted? From what i can tell it isn't.

Thanks Everyone !
KUDOS to everyone who contributed to this. Was hesitant before but now I will Purchase an LG G PAD because there will at least be some respectable ROMS and development for it. Again Thank you.:good::fingers-crossed::laugh:

Simultaneously press and hold the power and volume down buttons.
When the LG logo shows up, release the power button only.
Now press and hold the power and volume up button while keeping your hold on the volume down button.
When the factory reset screen appears, release your hold on all buttons.
Press the power button to continue.
Press the power button again to confirm if you’re sure you wish to continue with the reset.(NOTE if you are the newest TWRP recovery it should not wipe but if you are on the old version everything will be erased!)

Thank You!
Thanks a ton for bringing a much awaited custom rom for LG G Pad:good:
Have two queries:
1) Will we be able to downgrade to stock rom for warrenty purposes after flashing this rom?
2) Does it include features of stock rom like Slide Aside, Knock on, QSlide etc.,?

Thank you so much for your replies. When i have some spare time i ll install twrp and this custom rom. Thnx again for all of your efforts

New build coming. I merged contacts a bit too fast yesterday (big update from 4.4 to 4.4.1) missed a black text reference. Hard to read black text on a black background lol

you will NOT have root out of the box, CM has made it an optional thing, to enable root do the following:
Enable Developer options, on the About Tablet Screen, tap the Build number 8x
Next Go to Developer options
Then under Root Access, choose "Apps and ADB"

Hi
I am tiered of flashing roms.
I want something relatively stable and a simple upgrade when a new realese comes out.
Is this the way to go?
Thanks
Great rom but no root?
Hi
Thanks for this great rom, clean and simple
However, I installed titanium backup and it complains about root.
Usually it pops up asking for permission when uing root apps, but not in this rom.
I installed super su, but still no access.

Is there a mirror for Pollux Windy because it's only downloading at about 7KB/s... It's well over half done but still says it has another 3hrs to go...
This is my third attempt to get the file because it has dropped out twice already...
I finally got this installed.
Very very nice ROM... except for 2 things.
Am I missing something? I installed GApps at the same time but there is no email app.
and... is anyone else getting screen flicker when using the keyboard on Chrome???
Does camera, video record and viper4android iWork?

Since I do not own the 4G version I'm unable to test it, has anyone released any aosp roms for the 5100? if so point me to their device tree and I can add it.
Tried to give it a shot.. but, took way too long to just lock on my Wi-Fi.. so I had to pull out.
I look forward to checking back a few revisions down the line.
UPDATE:
Gave it a 2nd shot but.. even though I enabled App/ADB in Dev. Options I still lost Root upon flashing ROM.. and had to Re-Root the device. Again, maybe a later revision will work better for my particular Note 8.0..
Thanks for sharing
Nice ROM, thanks!

Just loaded this ROM and just like the CM10.2 ROM... this exhibit the light sensor problem. If you go to Setting -> Display & Light -> Brightness then the "setting" icon for Brightness then click on Adjust
In Adjust there is "current ligh sensor value". If you block the light sensor with your finger it will read 21474883647 Lux. which in turns completely brighten the screen to full. It should read 0.
I really like the black theme, it looks awesome! Good work
looks like a new CM10.2 has been released today, hopefully there wil be a new rom here as well
Oh man! I wish I could flash this on my rooted AT&T i467...I hope you guys consider developing a Rom for this model too. Thanks!!!

By far the fastest and most stable 10.2 ROM I've flashed.
CM power widget and brightness slider in the notification pulldown, plus a lockscreen torch would make this a daily driver for me.
For now, I'm back to carbon 10.1 build - if the above are implemented, I would definitely be back.
This ROM has the speed of sentinel but looks and feels better.
Good work fellas, I'm very impressed

Guys,
I looked here and on your website. I couldn't find information about the baseband. I live in Cyprus. Does this ROM come with a European compatible radio?
Thank you.

We don't include it afaik, it just uses the cm one, and if cm doesn't include it, then it's the stock one.
We don't do anything to it though.

CM doesn't include it. So it'll be the same as the last ROM you installed.

What are you calling lightweighted? Your Rom file has the same size than other cm/aosp ones, and list of features is more or less the same than Temasek's one, slimrom, crdroid.
More choice is better than less btw.

its lightweight by the means it runs very well on older devices, more is good to an extent, but too much can get in the way of getting work done and can become overwhelming. its trying to offer the latest without any lag or stability issues. temasek, simrom, and crdroid arent available to a huge variety of devices. we are taking ideas from slim, paranoid, and such roms to make one united rom that does not clog or slow down over time of use.
New server!
We got response for our new build server! Waiting for access credentials to connect to it...
The new one will be basketbuild. This also means that v1 is closer than ever...

does this support tablet ui change from the settings?
No pollux_windy files at the moment- link goes nowhere
initial builds are like AOSP. no custom options or features. enjoy clean vanilla android
May I ask where are the files? The goo.im link is dead at least for the Wi-Fi version. Thanks
Is there a problem with the windy version? Seems only Pollux is getting KitKat loving

i'll put up a build or two for testing for windy tomorrow
if everything is ok, i'll add that to official nightlies
I'll test. thanks
ps. we've had builds windy in the past too and you're also the maintainer?
@championswimmer where can one follow the real time progress of the rom. AOKP is what CM used to be and it's my preference and opinion.
Thank you for maintaining this device

pollux_windy build updated
please test and i will enable official nightlies then
Hi, I just tried the latest nightly for Pollux Windy, coming from cm11, I wiped everything and installed the rom and Bank's Core gapps for 4.4.2, after the initial setup a popup kept informing me that launcher 3 had stopped. Could this be because I should have used a more complete gapps package? Fortunately I got to go on Play store and download Nova, my preferred launcher and all is well! I use core gapps as that's all I need, should launcher 3 come with gapps or rom?
Tapatalked that shiznit.
Same here no matter the gapps pack, i tried 3 different ones.
Also as Vanir rom, when its in portrait no problem but in landscape, back key is calling google searchbar. I mean its like when u tap in search bar: keyboard popup and u cant get out from there...just by tapping home key
Sorry i needed tab so i flashed back cm, will provide logcat later...

If you would like to use TWRP Recovery with this ROM, you can use this app to install it
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...mer.twrpxperia
Also, this app allows you to come back to CWM if you don't like it. This app works on all custom ROMs (that have FXP-based kernel) and allows installation of TWRP to FOTAKernel partition.
Just flashed the latest windy nightly, and it softbricked.... The tablet won't even really even turn on for recovery. Thankfully, I have access to flashmode still.... I'll report back... If you are thinking of flashing this rom, make sure you know what you are doing...
*EDIT* Running stock 4.3.... I'm not very knowledgeable, but it seems like at least the 02, 25 nightly perhaps has a bad boot image...
NFC bug
Hey there,
first of all: Great rom! working fine overall. :good: Just one thing thats bothering me. NFC is always on and can't be turned off. Even tried to uninstall it using recovery exploit with Titanium Backup with no success...
I'm on the latest pollux nightly btw. Any suggestions how to get this solved? It really eats up the battery...
Did not find really much about it on the web. Just that this bug seems to be pretty common with cm11?
Edit: Don't know if anybody else has this problem... Just in case: I finally managed to solve the problem by unchecking NFC in options and then rebooting the device right from that options screen. After reboot NFC is successfully turned off.

Install Greenify app - then you can set nfc to hibernate when not in use.
This ROM is actually quite good. ART is working fine with this one.
The typical bluetooth bug is in this one too though.
There is also no double tap to wake.
Would be nice if the maintainer adds that into this rom if anyone is still reading this.
Latest nightly lags very badly. System reboots constantly... Unusable...
Flashed with full wipes

I think this went a step backwards. Now it gets stuck at boot animation. Earlier build, I believe, actually booted but with blank screen. At least I would get the haptic feedback as when a ROM boots before the screen would go blank.
