About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub. and on our Gerrit CarbonDev Gerrit.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
Who is Team Carbon?
Find out here:
Carbon Team
Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

LOL, changing the ro.config.low_ram to 'true' doesn't make any changes. Still using the high graphic.

Indeed its for the n8010 and n8013 wifi versions, currently running on my own n8010 perfectly no problems at all.
Maybe try again with full wipe, also i will check the uploaded rom file and maybe upload again
Same problem here on my N8010: full wipe, installed rom + fusion apps resulting in a boot loop. Maybe there is something wrong with the fusion gapps...

N8013
Glad someone cobbled all of this together!
Only a couple issues I want to make known for me on N8013
I do get a bootloop after I make changes to system settings, but if I boot into recovery and wipe Cache/Dalvik it boots up fine.
There are almost no settings visible in Performance Tweaks. Is the kernel just the stock 4.3 kernel? if so that makes sense.
Otherwise I think everything is running good, any plans to make a custom kernel for OC,charging control, etc, etc?

The active stylus works fine. I use Lecture Notes daily with pressure sensitive pen and hardware stylus only settings and it runs great.
S apps are TW things, they just don't play nicely with AOSP based roms. You can find the APK files and install them and try, but no guarantee they'll behave.

Any chance you could be swayed into tweaking the kernel?
I'd love to have a OC-able and charging level mod-able kernel for 4.3.

it then loads perfectly.

[ROM][4.4.4][K.K][23.12] A.I.C.P V-7.0 Android Ice Cold Project-Optimus_4X_HD-P880

All I've done is compiled sources to bring you these builds. All the heavy lifting is done over at https://github.com/orgs/AICP - thank those guys, they are working incredibly hard to bring AICP to us. I think the list of developers goes something like this: LorD ClockaN, zipsnet, n3ocort3x, semdoc and all the others that I have missed! Enjoy this great ROM with our great P880
That means that any bugs that exist in other AICP builds will probablacy exist in these builds.

Same here but until now it seems to be the only 'bug' I'll test a bit more more but it looks like no double press power button and a quite stable 3g connection also cam looks like to work pretty OK just a bit laggy panorama shooting
Is it possible to change the kernel to iodak? With the 4.3.1 thing got broken when we did that by flashing with any kernel

Yes you can flash any kernel version from iodak or any other anykernel like optimus prime!
For tiny laggy camera or the menu button issue keep in mind that's the first build and it will not be the last one this rom is on startingpoint. Anyway i've checked shortly the menu button but with Google now installed and all things work like it should...i have access to the Google now settings menu...I will flash a bit later a cm build to look what the launcher does...
THX for feedback
Nice to see new rom. Good Luck!

I really like this ROM, it has some cool features that i really appreciate, also i didn't find any specific ROM bug.
MHL works like CM11 so it has the same rotation problem which is too bad.

Is there any possibility to make USB OTG work? Maybe something like Franco's kernel on LG Nexus 4 with Y-USB OTG cable with external power source?

Dont bother with launcher since we have google one (you can even delete CM launcher from rom) and if anyone want something more it shure wont be CM launcher.I noticed that some tailes are missing like 2G+3G -2G network ones for quick changing 2G-3G networks. Also i couldnt find where i can set up lockscreen schorcuts and where i can pick buttons backlight duration....This is my observation since fleshing this GREAT rom.
P.S.Deep Sleep isnt like in CM but i managed to get 2:30 min onscreen time (20% battery left when i pluged it) and 10+ hours on battery so it is not bad at all considering i have instagram-face-google sync-whats app-tapatalk and clash of clans already installed.
P.P.S. Noticed also that in display setting there isnt option to save battery while on auto mode like there is in CM roms.Maybe it even shouldnt beed in this rom i am just saying what did i noticed.Again thank you for porting this.
verry good rom and good battery
BTW there is also "volume key to wake" option implemented (and working fine even with "long press volume seek track" option) so no need to script for people who prefer this over power button.

Hey dimi, you don't bother me :good: It is very helpful to figure out what is working correctly and what´s even don´t
Are u on iodak´s kernel? I've noticed that it's better deep sleep periods are with the stock kernel. About the toggles you can individual ad toggles at Settings/AOKP-Romcontrol, if you have slide out the menu above apears, for me a bit to tiny, add toggle. there you can setup toggles aka. tiles. The fast switch from 2G + 3G is i belive integrated in the Network indicator if u tap on it the mobile still work for telephony or sms and so but surfing over browser is disabled... i think that is the option that you are searching for! And if you tap again the button all things will work like before! For Statusbar brightness slider you can find also under AOKP-Romcontrol to enable it...and button backlight disabling, i think it is not integrated...maybe for now or ever...i have to ask the AICP team if they would including it. They push at the moment a lot of stuff to github. I think there is enough space for aplications that are now not included =) hope that´s make somethings clearer!
and excuse me for the bad english
best regards

PA 4.4 BETA1
On this week’s dose of awesome sauce from PA Headquarters. We are proud to bring you Theme Engine, a stable Hover and a bunch of fixes. Hats off to CM, Clark Scheff, Andrew Mast and Sony mobile, for their work on Theme engine Truly outstanding work. Porting it to an AOSP base was a massive effort, lead by +Carlo Savignano. We tried to do it in a way so that it can be easily ported to other AOSP based ROMs for the benefit of the entire community. We are also proud to mark Hover stable, after many betas and three rewrites. We apologize for all the betas, but we really wanted to try to get this right, we encourage you to compare this build to beta 1, some major improvements have been made. The lessons learned here means more/quicker awesomeness in the future. With Google IO only a month away we are nearing the end of Kitkat, but that doesn't mean development is slowing down. Our team is comprised of numerous students and with school ending we are now doubling down on making PA awesome, we plan to finish strong and have a few Major projects to release that we have been working on internally for quite some time. Awesomeness is coming *
P.S. This is still 4.4.2. We have merged and are testing 4.4.3 internally but it was released too close to our release to allow enough time for adequate testing.*
P.S 2 Like the Themes shown off in the image below they were made by our own +Matt Flaming* and *+Lo Huot* and are available on the play store (PiazzA will be available soon). Show them some love.
General
- Translated into over 30 languages!
- Backported numerous fixes from AOSP master.
- Improved quicksettings.
- Removed lockscreen blur feature in favour of custom lockscreen background from*Theme Engine (it will come back as a component of theme engine in the future).
Theme Engine
- Bring full CM11 theme engine. (First AOSP based ROM!!)
- WARNING: Home button gets refreshed only after reboot or by force killing SystemUI *if you want to *a avoid reboot. Will be fixed in next build.
Hover
- Stable status!!
- Removed Jank (its a technical term)
- Fixed remaining bugs, including spam and invisible notifications.
- Fully working and improved inCallUi.
- Restored default swipe to dismiss behavior. An upcoming swipe up gesture will let you dismiss*hover as was replacing the old behavior.
Pie/Immersive
- Fixed immersive API Thanks for the developers who helped diagnose the issue
- Vastly improved triggering, and allow you to trigger from any area on the edge on tablets.
- Pie now rotates like the navBar (will appear on short edge).
- Enabled pie only on immersive mode enabled by quick settings tlie (not in app immersive).
- Fixed AOSP immersive bug issue where apps would register a touch when swiping statusBar*and/or navBar.
- Fixed numerous freezes.
WARNING: We recommend a clean flash this time due to massive changes

We are just starting so we may not support a lot of devices. If you would like to be a maintainer, just pm me or any team member.

Just a gripe, here goes: You listed that it should work just fine on the xt1031, but say right after that you're unsure of it works on the Boost mobile version... Correct me if I'm wrong, but it the xt1031 only the boost version?

Dirty Unicorns is a custom ROM built with stability in mind and optional customization. The idea to start this ROM began out of pure boredom around 4.1.2 on the EVO 3D and later turned into a form of an addiction (a good one) to see where we could go from there. We have since expanded to more devices to include the HTC One, Nexus 5, SGS4 and many more. We quickly realize that users loved what we were doing as well as other developers because it was done the right way. We've always had fun doing it and take pride in knowing that we've done it without having to bug the end user for donations to pay for server costs and/or any of those sob stories you hear. This ROM is 100 percent free and will remain that way.
Those wanting to use our ROM as a base are more the welcomed to do so but please maintained the credits/thanks below, do not ask for donations as it wouldn't be fair to do so considering and let us know as we often like to contribute to other projects.
As stated above, we love to maintain authorship but we also like to publicly praise those that have helped us along the way with our wonderful project. With that said, this wouldn't be possible without the work and help of those listed below THANK YOU ALL!!
| OmniROM | AOKP | CM | ChaOS | Paranoid Android | Slim ROMs | Preludedrew | Team Black Out | Official Testers / Translators |
Please check our gerrit/github for full credits/thanks of individual contributorsBelieve it or not, we are human and we do forget things. If we have left someone out of the credit/thanks list, just PM us and we'll gladly add on to the list.

A small statement from my side:
I may not always have time to check my threads. I usually stay on top of things, but real life happens and real life is even more important to me than everything else, especially my family !
When reporting bug's, or requesting new features, the best way to make sure your heard, and a sure fire way to get things done is using our Jira site. There's always someone monitoring this, so if I'm tied up, there's a good chance that by reporting here, your issues will be resolved quickly. Remember, before you post anything, take into consideration what your issue is:
-- Could it be a gapps issue?
-- Are you running a different kernel than the one provided that could be causing problems?
-- Are you running any unsupported Xposed modules?
If not, use this tool to your advantage and make life easier for us all! You need to create a simple user name and password to access the site. It'll only take a few seconds, and Neither of these can be seen by us, it's just a security measure.
Here's a link to the site: http://jira.dirtyunicorns.com/browse/DU-60?filter=-3
Please make sure before posting a bug or/and a feature request in JIRA, that no one else has already posted it before.
And do all of us an favour and respect the following:
-- No asking for ETA's
-- No asking for integrating Hover, cause we will NEVER integrate Hover into the rom !
-- We don't accept any form of donations
-- Don't think you are an customer and we own you a thing, cause we don't own anything to you guys
-- Don't ask for ART support, yes you can use ART within the rom, but don't ask for support when running into any issues
-- When you're going to post an bug in JIRA, please provide us as much information as you can and grab a logcat if it's needed
I don't have the experience and the acknowledgement as Jake and others of our team, I will work hard to get into that stuff as soon as possible, but this will definitely take some time, also i'm doin graphics for Dirty Unicorns, have my real life & my family, so if you respect all those things we will be fine !!!
Uh maybe Im missing something but whats the difference between this and the one thats already been posted?

I have to say.... I haven't been running AOSP ROMs in about 6 months since I stopped doing Carbon builds and just came back to the aosp side and gotta say.... Really enjoying Dirty Unicorn. Nicely done to the DU team and maintainers. Keep it up
Otherwise a great rom. But it won't allow me to change lockscreen wallpaper no matter what I do.
Using 7.9

I just want to chime in and thank you and all the DU devs for the incredible work you're all doing.
I'm on v. 7.8 (a weekly build from August) and continue to follow the development but I'm so happy with the status quo I'm not in a hurry to take an update. I'll sit back and watch the fun!
This is truly an awesome ROM!

Got to Dirty Tweaks/Quick Settings and an QS tile for it.
Thank you for the quick response. I already did that but the tile says disabled. I tap it to turn it on but that doesn't do anything. Is there anything else I can do?

FYI, my fast charge also won't turn on as described minutes ago. I'm on 7.8 weekly build Aug 10th or maybe 12th. No big deal just a data point

Hey man know your busy and such and the blacklist option might be skipped though alot if you get bored etc can you verify if you select dont show notifications under "black lists" and have someone call you. On my phone it will still show the notification. Thanks man no rush or anything.
@thereald
The lockscreen wallpaper issue will be resolved only when v8 comes out or you plan to give a small update before?
