[Q] Sprint Tab cracked screen - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Are the screens from any Tab (1st edition) 7" compatible with each other? I'm having trouble finding any that specifically say SPH-P100 compatible.

The screens should be the same. I have a sch-i800 and broke my screen. I used a gt 1000 i got off ebay for $15. It worked just fine.

Thanks, I am just leary because many of those screens mention the 800 or the p1000, but don't mention the SPH-p100 at all. I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and buy one of the screens.

The different names of the tabs refer to the programming and hardware inside. The outside is the same. One 7" galaxy tab ( original ) is the same as another. Whether it is a p1000 or sch-i800. one is european, the other is american. Thats why if you read about flashing roms it is very specific. certain roms are for specific tabs geographically.

[Q] Still worth buying?

Hi.
I'm looking to buy a tablet but I'm having trouble deciding I'm looking for a 7 inch so the choices right now are the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the Acer Iconia A100 and the HTC Flyer. I'm not sure whether 3.0 is the way to go right now. The prize of the A100 and the Tab is the same here. Which to buy?
Sorry if this question has been asked before.
/Henriette
If you don't care about phone calls on the tab, then I think the htc flyer is a better choice. But on my part I like the galaxy tab because of the phone capablities and it's a little smaller than the htc flyer. So it depends on your needs.

I would suggest the Flyer over the three if you are willing to pay the extra price.

Thought about the Flyer, but it's more than $300 more than both the A100 and the Tab, and I'm not spending that kind of money

Then the iconia looks faster on the papers. But it doesn't look as nice as the galaxy tab. And we don't know about the quality of the screen. On the galaxy tab it's pretty good. You should go and test it in shops.
By the way are you talking about the wifi only version or the gsm version for the gtab ? The wifi only version is a little slower than the gsm I heard.
If I had to choose again ? The galaxy tab is my choice. But I wish it would have a dual-core processor.

I'm talking the GSM version. We don't have the wifi only tab here.

I just recently purchased the GSM version (unlocked). I've had it for just a couple days and I like it. I too, was thinking about the ACER but I didn't want to wait another month for something that may or may not be to my liking. I live in Kuwait and the price dropped almost $100 US on the 32GB version so I bought it.
Ended up getting one :-D The prize was suddenly lowered a lot.

It would just be easier just to buy an unlock one from Amazon. It has the phone capabilty or buy one from ebay. Do a search on ebay for Samsung Galaxy P6200 unlocked and look at its spec. It will say the voice phone capable.

I was sent here for my galaxy tab plus. Yes, I agree there are quite a few galaxy forums. I do think you are in the right place though.

This is the correct forum.
Not ok for Galaxy Tab Plus, though...

Still worth buying or aged?

Looking to buy a new phone soon, and just wanted your views on whether this phone has gone aged.

If your price range allows I would invest in an s2 otherwise this is still a highly supported phone

S2 here is a little out of budget. Nevermind, thanks for the answer.

You could also consider the i9001 (Galaxy S Plus), which looks exactly the same as the i9000 but has quite different hardware. At least on paper it's quite a bit better and not nearly as expensive as an SII. I've got one of those and am really happy with it
Yes but the i9001 only has slightly faster CPU and slower graphics you can easily set the i9000 to the same clock speed as the i9001

I asked around on the nexus s forums and they told me not to buy. They say its showing its age.
I'm looking at Xperia S now. Probably gonna buy it.

A rooted Galaxy S I9000 is still pretty good, but if you can afford it I recommend you the Xiaomi MI-2.
I personally think that the i9000 is a great phone. It was my first Galaxy class and is still with me
I rooted the phone and switched over to running JellyBean (SlimRom version) and think it is just great. I do prefer the S2 just because it is that much faster, but finding it hard to part with my trusty original
Good all round phone but a little slow on some of the major games (I believe - though cannot vouch for that)
