constantly losing bottom bar with back/home/toggle apps - General Omni Discussion

I'm currently running the latest omnirom nightly on the N4. I also noticed this while running Dirty Unicorns ROM which is also Omni based. Can anyone tell me what may be causing this?

I've noticed the same. Though I'm using an unofficial gt n8013 port. Specially when using tweeting. Screen lock unlock gets bar back

I noticed this too a few days ago. I'm on a official Nexus 5 build.
Have you guys enabled active display? IT seem it might be the culprit.

I filed this as a bug in JIRA

I'm also getting this on both my Nexus 7 (2013) (Flo) and Samsung Note 2 (t0lteatt).

AD is the culprit. There's a good chance it's going to get ripped out soon because it's proven to be such a buggy mess.

Happened to me once during whatsapp. Suddenly there was only an arrow showing upwards - well maybe more a roof than an arrow. I made a screenshot but the screenshot showed the icons properly. Odd!
A restart fixed it.

I'm guessing that there's something wrong with the rom, I'm also using Ultimate Jellybean but I've had no screen issues (yet).
Try to make sure that everything in Developer Options is switched off, except from 'Force GPU Rendering'. Some options in there could make your screen go strange.

I checked the rom options and everything is ok. Do you think this could be a problem with my screen? My phone is not even an year old.

There are plenty of other good rom`s to choose from and try atm
There is, xenon 9 is really stable but vanir is similar in features and has crazy speed tweaks, also its the only ROM I know of with the .25x animation speeds
New build!

Surprisingly i fixed the phone issue with flashing the no in call volume fix for t mobile lte and the GPS doesn't reboot, maps just hangs

Hey guys, since i have not yet reached the limit for posting in the development forums I might as well post here since the title matches. What are the differences between the DHO and Nuclear builds? I am sorry if its in the original thread somewhere, I tried to look for it.

Usually, the only difference is that they're built by different people. They might have small little local changes, but all in all your not really missing out on flashing on over the other.

Thanks man, i tried it and only difference seems to be the theme, rest looks the same. I have troubles with the inbuilt torch in both cases though. It doesnt want to shut down and keeps turning on.

Also have any of you guys tried some other kernel along vanir? I am sure many of you did, the question is - Did u get the inbuilt performance manager to work with some other kernels? I m currently using AKs kernel and I always get FCs when trying to open the app.
Vanir - Android 7.1.2
vanir_mako_7.1.071917.zip
First Vanir with Android 7, which finally managed to run me.
This ROM uses the kernel lineage.
In addition, it is very underdeveloped, because it does not work properly debugging, so you can not connect through adb and install applications.
There is also no possibility of a normal apk installation (message: Package installer has stopped).
I checked and I can confirm that the navigation buttons work very well in Vanir ROM, for Nexus 4 with an inactive touch pad at the bottom of the screen.
I can add a ROM to the compatibility list.

package installer works just fine as for adb I don't have a computer right now to test that with are you purposely steering people away from this ROM for some reason?

Thank you for your attention. My opinion was premature.
I installed ROM again (the same file without re-downloading) and adb works normally.
Installation through
Settings -> Storage -> Explore
also works as it should.
Probably the first installation was damaged.
Unfortunately, I have to retract my opinion regarding the operation of navigation buttons on the inactive bottom of the touch screen.
Previously I tested on my second N4, where the inactive touch screen I have in the middle of the screen.

D4 Carbon ROM

I saw this in another forum
http://goo.im/devs/carbon/maserati/nightly
I have currently have 6 ROMs on the root of my card and this one as of late has been my fav. Since I didnt see it on XDA for the D4 I figured I would post something about it. Here is the link to the page the has the specs about this rom and it has a link to Carbons page on GitHub.
Hope everyone in this community enjoys this rom and happy rooting.
The only place I saw this (at the time) was on goo.im.
Thanks for this, it's better then vanilla cm but with a little extra.
Hopefully now this will get more attention.

I saw an option to send at a different interval...
try increasing it to say 4 messages or 5 messages
... this way you will send more text instead of MMS.

I have never had an issue with this...
Although users with GSM will...
It is sent out differently I believe.
Liquid is ok, although I do not use
anything higher then either 2.2 or 2.4.
This ROM so far is the best Ive run on my D4, after trying AOKP, Liquid, Avatar, and CM. The only issue I've run into, and I have never encountered before, is that my google contacts don't sync. Also on that note I can not edit, or create new contacts in the "people" app. I've downloaded another contact manager and am unable to edit or create in that one too. The contact editor will pop up then disappear in a matter of half a second. I have tried flashing the ROM on top of itself again, and also reinstalling gapps after wiping delvik cache. The rom is installed in slot-1 and I only have an AOKP rom installed in slot-2. Has anybody else experienced similar issues and had it resolved? I really don't want to go to another ROM after trying this one.
thank you for reading!
It is a shame this doesnt get more attention. This is a superb rom. I have more stability and functionality with this than CM or AOKP. Loved pacman's options of everything, but it was not stable either. This one just works! People really need to try this one out

you have the carbon zip file and then the 2nd link shows 4.2.2.
in the 2nd file (4.2.2) there are about 15 other links.... what are these files? are they updates for the carbon zip file?

I think it does. If you flash it, there is a warning in the flashing screen about ROM slot 1.
Anyway, one of the most stable ROM I've ever used.
There is an annoying bug with setting CPU maximum frequency (not sure if anyone else experiences it) but it can be fixed by using "profiles" on SetCPU

Hi there. I'm looking for the Carbon ROM and tried your google drive links without success. It would be great if you could let me know if they are still active and, if not, where it is possible to find the Carbon ROM for a Motorola Droid 4? Cheers. Bernard

I went back to the nightly, because they removed the crt screen effect off option.
And yes i know you can turn off animations in dev settings, but i like some of the animations!

Thread close
I have no problem with this thread. I suspect a lot of people wouldn't actually notice that CM 10.1 was released especially as the regular CM threads are quite long!
Running CM 10.1 release and it does everything I ask of it. Best feature for me is the customisable quick-settings page. Couple of things I like to have quick access to are screen rotation toggle (I usually have this disabled and then enable it when I specifically need it) and the torch which is uber-useful. You can also pull the quick-settings down without unlocking the phone *and* access it directly simply by pulling down closer to the right hand side of the screen.
My big driver for it was actually bluetooth fixes which aren't in the stock ROM that mean that my car (BMW) won't sync contacts with stock. Again, this works 100% fine in CM 10.1.
Stability, battery etc. are all good. Installation is trivial, but I'd recommend a wipe if coming from stock.
Go for it, I say

Feel nice to finally be able to run AOKP on hammerhead. Too bad its soo skinny for now. Guess I'll head back to cataclysm for now and wait for devs to fill the ROM with the goodies.
Ran into an issue of not being able to get root access. Anyone else able to reproduce?
