I'm trying to create a flashable zip to update from 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 with root. It will take a good while to set everything up, test and upload, but I'm going to try it...
EDIT: Zip created. Now I'm doing a huge backup (Titanium Backup + TWRP) to recover everything I need after...

Making a .zip for what..?
This is a 4.3 version, if you doing a custom rom mod, then post in another thread.

[Stock FW][LT25i] Xperia V 9.1.A.0.492 Generic (Taiwan)

Sony did not update the Xperia V in Taiwan to the original 9.1.A.0.490 Jelly Bean firmware. Instead, the update went straight over to the new 9.1.A.0.492 firmware, which I have made into an FTF in the link below. Firmware includes some regional apps, all of which can be uninstalled.
EDIT: It is pretty obvious that the .492 firmware is not a large update in any sense, and could very well be a regional push-out update with minor bug fixes. On personal experience, I have not had any SOD issues (though I haven't had that on the old ICS firmwares either), but the weather widget still causes menu stutters and the Walkman app still has glitches in playback when switching tracks (long pauses).

I just hope that the bugs in .490 is being fixed with this new update.

for me this fw still have SoD. I go back to telenor FW, cause it's no SoD
I do not know if this happened to you guys, but I can't connect to my telco's data network using this ROM.
I'll be playing around with another kernel with this ROM and see how it'll turn out to be...
Edit> I just realised I need to manually set my telco's APN for this. Now it appears to be fine for now.

Apparently. Singapore hasn't got it yet.

No bug is still here
All bugs still there, radio seems worse (new baseband in .492), at least in Europe...

Help: UK Based FTF (244)

Hi
I was hoping someone could help. This is driving me absolutely crazy.
I am currently running Cyanogenmod so Sony Mobile Update Server and Sony Mobile Companion completely refuse to play ball what so ever. They do not even attempt to connect out to their servers.
I really want one of the following FTF files:
Code:
O2 Pay monthly UK 1270-4993 10.3.1.A.0.244 R9B 10.3.A.0.423 R8B
United Kingdom Vodafone UK 1270-9110 10.3.1.A.0.244 R7B 10.3.A.0.423 R7B
This is just so I can update the baseband and NFC firmware
Tried googling for 2 hours and found nothing except German and Dutch FTFs.
Any help would be really appreciated....
Thanks
Just use any of the generic unbranded 244 FTF files posted in this section. All of the firmware versions have the same system files, baseband etc. no matter which region they are from.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 2
If no one has a link to either of these I will flash my phone to stock, re-load bootloader and then run the upgrade, capture the FTF, re-unlock bootloader and then apply FTF then latest Cyanogenmod...
I will also post my FTF in General section.
But if someone has already done this it would save me a very late night

Ah ok... fair enough. Well its mainly just the BB and NFC firmware I'm after anyway.
Out of interest, what is the difference between the different regions??

Mainly just different bundled apps, I believe. All of the core system components, the kernel, baseband etc are the same for all releases of 244.

[Q] Xperia ZR baseband doesn't change after baseband flashing

Hello all,
It's not really a problem but something I just don't understand !
I'm on the .244 firmware and i tried to install the baseband of the .310 one (don't ask me why, I'm just curious :cyclops: ) but after the flash even if network took some time to be enabled the baseband number in the settings didn't change.
I also tried:
Going to .310 → .244 BB
Flashed everything in the .ftf excluding system and kernel
Wiping cache
But nothing changed in the baseband displayed in the settings !
Do somebody has an idea on why it doesn't change ? How can I be sure the new baseband is really installed ?
Thanks.
PS: a friend also tested on his Xperia SP, same issue.
Baseband is the same AFAIK.

Nope when I tried to flash the whole 310 ftf the baseband changed from -39 to -29 :/
Hello,
Do somebody have an idea please ?
Thanks.
Probably because both firmware use the same baseband

No, all firmware have different basebands, to check it we just have to flash the whole .ftf and see that the baseband number is changed.
Yesterday I read a message confirming this is only a display issue on many (all ?) 2013 Xperias. To be sure the new baseband has been installed after a flash, we simply have to check if the network takes some time to activate.
Then, does anybody know whether c5502 has the same baseband processor/hardware as c5503
I believe that the system part contains some informations. try overwriting it
Sent from my LG-P970
@ syin16: same general hardware yes, but not the same network ship and baseband as C5503.
C5503 firmwares and basebands work on C5502, but a C5502 baseband/firmware on C5503 will prevent LTE to work.
@ Ilko: yeah it's a system thing, as reinstalling all the .ftf without the system partition doesn't change anything to the baseband number.
But it doesn't come from the build.prop
stupid me... caught this...
how i resolved it... (im using cm/fxp btw)
- make nandroid backup
- wipe
- reboot
- baseband comes back
- reboot into recovery
- advanced recovery with "data" only
- reboot
- done.
Yesterday i install kitkat on my xperia zr c5502 but thr file is courrepted then i install c5503 firmware now my phone model number show c5503 but my phone is?c5502

Follow part A of this guide. Download any software customization from Sony & create an FTF with Flashtool and change your customisation version to 1270-6188.
Then connect your phone to your PC and the update should be available.
Note : It will be the generic CH (Swiss) version you receive, but the software does not vary from region to region anyway, only included apps.

If you flash a branded firmware you will get some more apps which you probably don't need. So if you flash one, flash a generic firmware

You can download with changing the customization number your old firmware(that method which kingvortex posted). There are 2 links, 1 with customization numbers and the other is this what kingvortex give you. Give a look on it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2315914
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2311211
If you root your phone and install the Recovery, you can make a Nand backup. This is a Backup of the full system.
You loose warranty if you unlock your bootloader. But here you flash just an other original SONY firmware, for this you don't need to unlock your bootloader and that means you won't loose warranty.

Downgrade From Official MM to Kitkat

First I am not responsible for anything you do with your device!
so, for me MM is not stable enought at the moment and lets admit it - Kitkat was the best Version of Android (in my opinion) in terms of battery and stuff So I have managed to downgrade from MM to KK safely:
1. First backup all of your stuff
2. Download NJ4 BL and Modem:
http://www39.zippyshare.com/v/25026978/file.html - BL
http://www5.zippyshare.com/v/82779967/file.html - Modem
3. Download 4.4.4 Kitkat ILO ANJ4 forum here :
https://mega.co.nz/#!OgAj1TgK!viW6jeo8juTkGyTWdL11KQ53p0bs0f9BsBqLLaAOy5I
First, Flash the BL and the Modem, after that reboot to download mode again, Flash the firmware, after you flash the firmware, reboot to recovery - Wipe Factory Reset and Cache
Reboot and Enjoy KK,
last thing, the update manager will advise you to update to ANK5 - do it
after that do not update to lollipop and you are good to go
BTW I have 2 bugs on this version:
1. TouchWiz has stopped working
2. MultiTasking is slower
credits to me

Just tried (of course don't flash the files from op, they're for 910F) and doesn't work (I have ank5 bl and modem) cause from coj5 samsung changed bootloader things that block downgrade to lower-than-coj5 roms.
I tried this method and 4files downgrade with pit file. All failed!!! I think its impossible to downgrade to 4.4.4
Try to downgrade first to 5.1.1 lollipop(cpc6) and again to 4.4.4 kitkat (ank4) and the same csc,not diferent.

I needed to repartion with a pit file to resize the partition from 16 to 8 gb. Otherwise I couldn't downgrade to KK.
Untill now I have amazing longer batterylife then I had with LP or MM.
For who is needing the pit file, I attached it to this post.
