I own this beast...it is Wonderful... - LG G Flex

I bought this device instantly I saw it. I am loving every inch of it. I can't believe the power it has got. Battery life is great. Watching videos in landscape is purely theatrical experience. The rules of game has changed with this flexy beast.

Can you test the camera in low light? I know they were praising the LG G2 camera but it sucked at low light when the objects were moving.
Thanks in advance

Actually the first thing i noticed is the Camera, it is not as good as LG G2. The guys in Androidcentral wrote about the quality of G Flex camera and they noticed that the absence of OIS does affect low light photography, though the sensor is good enough to give you some decent shots, as long as the environment isn’t too dark. The camera tends to overexpose scenes, which can result in unbalanced images, especially in bright environments. That’s especially visible when you use HDR mode.
Still now i used my lg g flex indoor.. here are some examples indoor, no flash, very low light

Thanks for the prompt response man. I see what you're talking about. I have a Moto X right now and I think it is great in low light pictures. Very close to HTC One IMHO and I'm looking for a phone with similar camera in low light. I love the G Flex but hated the camera on G2 so not sure what to expect.

Just wait a minute.. dont undersatnd that this make the phone weak, this phone is all about smart, wonderful and unexpected experience. I totally agree with anyone talking about the camera, but that can be fix by software update. Watching movies is great enjoy, the battery is fantastic and the way you hold the phone in your hand is unbelivable. Do not hasitate to own one....

[Q] Camera Quality?

I thought the reviews were just being harsh, but after playing with the HD at the store, the camera is really disappointing. Especially compared to the other options out there (HTC One X). Any chance these short comings can be fixed with a OTA update? Or does the camera suffer for a cheaper price point?
I have been getting pretty decent and good pictures. But then again I am no photographer

That's good to know. Maybe it was just the lighting in the store or an effect someone had put it on. Thanks mqguitar!
It could have been here are some quick pictures I took without adjusting and doing quickly. I will take some more with macro too also. Hope this helps

The Camera Quality looks good to me. It's a lot better than the Atrix 2's 8MP Camera.
Image quality has been better than I expected from the reviews - I think it's usable and I'm into photography (of course, for nice pics I'll use a real camera).
Its about as good side by side with the s3 just has a blue tint to everything

Its the lighting in AT&T stores. It looks bright because of the stores themes bright orange and Blue death star. You'll really come to notice that the lights are dimmed a little just so the screens look nice and it's harder to see all the scratches left by people who played with the demo model.
The Camera is really effected by lighting, but it can be fixed with some of the camera's built in pre-settings.
Besides, the trend is instagram these days. Blurry out of focus over saturated pictures are the popular thing now. *shakes head and shrugs*

New Atrix HD Owner...

Great device. I don't mind MotoBlur at all. If AOKP (my fav) was available I don't know if I'd even use it. I have root and that's all I need. Tons of bad reviews and I don't get why yet. Screen is second to only the One X. I've had just about any and every of the top popular devices you can think of. I'm sure I'll be on to the Note 2 once ATT drops it too, but the Atrix HD is great at it's price point. The internal storage is the only downside. It's fast and snappy stock. IMHO Moto has passed up HTC (bloaty, but highly functional and experience changing) for the best stock experience. The clock/weather/battery widget is so useful, screenshots don't do it justice. It's more than just time, weather and battery. The ability to swipe up on messaging, phone and other icons and see a quick (don't know what to call it) status area is great. The hardware is fantastic. All i needed was a different camera app and all is good.
If Moto was more "mod" and had 16gb storage this device would be an XDA favorite easy!!!
edit: BTW most of all the device is beautiful
Couldnt have said it better myself. With the battery mod and camera fix options, this is an AWESOME phone

CameraZoomFX Best 3.00 you'll spend in a long time!!
And correction this screen> The One X screen. I have both phones and the picture is more clear and sharp on the AHD. This screen is the same as the iPhone 5. Put them side by side like I did. They're both the same pixel, clarity and resolution wise. The AHD is the phone to have now.
Be sure to get:
64GB class 10 micro SD card
CameraZoomFX app
RazrMaxx battery
And don't look back
They're so cheap on eBay too, i was looking for a phone for a friend. He wanted to spend less than $250 on a phobe with a nice screen and decent specs... ATRIX HD was unbeatable for the price.

Your kidding me right? The camera is amazing, its not even comparable :what:
The quality is outstanding and the colors are just so vibrant. Completely wrecks my S3.
Well think about how would flash work with the modes that take multiple shots and/or combine them? Obviously those special settings wouldn't be optimal in low light settings where flash is necessary.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
The number one reason I upgraded over my HTC Evo 4G LTE was for the better camera in the S4, specifically outdoor/daylight. And I've been testing the heck out of it. Takes spectacular pictures! I'm very happy with the camera. Sport mode works great for non-blurry images of fast moving objects, too. Flash only works in a couple of modes, but that makes sense given most of the modes it's not available in.

I found it slow at first, then i turn on Sport Mode and its pretty fast. I think it all depends on the configuration of the Mode you have ON.

You're close. The pixels are actually twice the size and the sensor itself is the same size as most 8mp and even some 13mp sensors - it only has a maximum 4mp resolution output though which makes it a 4 megapixel camera.

My thing is after us finding out that the camera is not defaulted to 13 megapixels, I question the validity of any of these comparison reviews because for all we know they are shooting pictures while still on 8 megapixels

Thanks for the video. Great review.
Screen is good not as good as HTC one, colours not as rich and blacks not as black, video play back not as smooth as HTC one but better than my n4. Quadrant benchmark (not that this really affects daily use) is half of HTC one at 6600. Web browser very quick via chrome. Camera OK, better than n4 not as good as HTC one. (I know I'm comparing to the n4 & HTC one but these are the phones I have to compare too) .

General Question

So my Note 3 is 2 months old and I have decided it's just too damn big for normal use. Thinking about the Moto x. How is the camera on Kit Kat? And how is battery life? And how does the 720p screen really look? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

My opinion.... I've played with them all, and the Moto x is the most refined phone I've used. Yes, the camera isn't the best out there, but I'm of the opinion that it is a phone, not a camera. Its fine for capturing moments spur of the moment.... But if I know I'm going somewhere and want lots of nice pics..... I use my camera.
Opinions will vary. Greatly. Lol
Sent from my Moto X cell phone telephone.....
Battery life is good, unrooted with location services, voice controls all etc turned on I get 1 day+ with 3-4 hours of screen time. I also typically do an hour or two of music or bluetooth too.
Compared to Note3 the camera is not as good in many situations but its good enough to be happy with the pics I take of my kids and whatnot. I have a better digital camera but prefer the phone for convenience. The double wrist flick to launch the camera is genius and I use it often.
