Currently i'm a happy HTC HD2 owner but after working a bit with Android and the galaxy i decided to buy one but before i do i have a few questions.
I installed the desire HD android Edition on my hd2 and it was wonderful. Can this android rom or something similar be installed on the galaxy?
Is it easy to root/get admin rights?
Also the galaxy android is the same compared to htc android ?

It will be alot of work if its possible.
Its easy to root it as tools are on the marketplace
Galaxy S runs Samsung's Touchwiz UI instead of HTC's SenseUI. This is where HTC wins, but hardware-wise Galaxy S is the best in the market right now
About the ubuntu touch, anyone working in it?.
It is still a developer preview and can not used as daily driver... So many things not working and most of the applications are dummy .. Just an icon but the application not working... I tried it on galaxy nexus for few hours and revert back to android...
Beside the fact that p1 do not have the minimum hardware required for Ubuntu final OS that should be released at the end of 2013 and at that time our tab will be really outdated...

I too tried this on the Galaxy Nexus, but the fact that it isn't usable is no excuse, Ubuntu Mobile has been ported to over 20 devices so far, none of them can be used as daily drivers.
He's right though, the original Galaxy Tab does not meet minimum requirements :/
Does anyone know if Ubuntu touch is even being considered to be ported to the p7310.
Really interested in the os and don't want to buy a new tab.

It's an old device, I know. Any hope for this one? I don't have the PC specs or knowledge to port it myself.
