[Q] Illumination Bar on bootup. - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, sorry to ask stupid questions, I usually figure things out myself, I've been going through the forums and googling but cannot find the answer.
Just having upgraded from 2 years from the HTC Desire S to the Xperia SP, and immediately rooting and cwm and panicing as it wouldn't turn on because I flashed the wrong stuff etc.
I am currently running XPERIA PURENESS v1.0 as it is the only rom I have found that goes landscape in the main screen "Rosie" it was called for the HTC.
Anyway, I had flashed something along the way that on bootup the pretty lights went all the different colours in a row. Is this a general setting I have missed? or could someone point me in the right direction please of something which I may have flashed.
Eyecandy, eyecandy, eyecandy
Many thanks
(Sorry for my bad spelling, I have lost my glasses).

pfff I really don't know.. I guess you'll have to search it in every description of any rom you used. I'd say start with the last one

That's.... really weird, but could be a mix of custom boot and the recovery. I don't think recovery itself uses red and green, just blue

[BOOT][DK28][CWM3][01/19/11] CIA Boot Animation - Edify/Amend

Requirements:
- DK28 ROM with kernel that can run custom boot animations (Bonsai4All, ViperROM, etc)
- Ability to boot into ClockWorkMod Recovery (any version) and flash a .zip file
What is it?
- As requested by lazydazed, a working CIA boot animation (I ported fromTP2); I made a few modifications to my liking
- Won't overwrite your existing boot sound
- The preview plays pretty quick, but the actual speed on the device is appropriate
PREVIEW
Instructions:
- Download .zip to SD Card
- Flash in CWM (all versions of CWM supported)
Download updated 01/19/11 - now supports all version of CWM recovery
looks great! nice job
Thanks!

how about a tutorial thread?
I flashed it via Clockwork and it didn't show during bootup. I'm pretty sure I did everything right. I'll try reflashing. ACS DK28 Stock rom
I don't think acs' stok kernel supports custom boot animations out of the box. Maybe try one of the Bonsai roms or maybe swap thekernels and see if that does the trick

Correct, this (or any custom boot animation) will not run on a stock kernel.
Yea, I kind of figured that was the problem. Total sadface on that. Thanks for the info.

I had wondered what kind of shutdown animation would fit. I was fooling around with the logo in After Effects seeing if there was a way I could make it disappear in a way similar to turning off an old tube tv set. Couldn't figure it out and moved on to other things.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I was thinking something simple like "Backing up Level 7 Encrypted Files" in green with a flashing command prompt. Then some cryptic text can fill off the command prompt. Maybe then some text could pop up saying something to the effect of, "Logging Off"
Just simple and secretive

Seriously, what rom are you guys using? Im using Pauls FR4, but geting nothing but bootloops and crashes D: I am a ad-free member though, so i removed a couple of files when i baked the rom, but not anything i can imagine would impact this.

I'm using Pauls Pre-bake. Worked the first time for me but I did it in the most round about way ever! Probably due to me flashing the ROM and theme before my morning coffee..
I doubt any of the sequence I did played a part in getting it to work..but here goes
1) Titanium backed up my user apps
2) Booted into recovery, did a full wipe and flashed Paul's pre-baked R4 ROM.
3)Booted back into the phone, changed the date/time to the correct one, and pulled titanium backup from the market.
4)Did a titanium restore(only user apps)
5)Noted everything was working fine with the new ROM and rebooted into recovery again (to flash the theme)
6) Now here;s the doozy, intending to flash the theme I flashed Pauls rom again!
7)Had to wait for the ROM flash to finish and flashed the theme immediately after.
8) booted back into the phone and everything worked.
I seriously doubt you have to do it the way I did for it to work, but i figured I should included my flashing steps just in case you wanted to know

Strange !
With Desire HD so many Stuff installed via CWM, never get a Bootloop.
Here with r4 and P990 i got many.
- battery percentage installed, loop.
- theme installed, loop.
Using r4.
Any Ideas ?
Best regards.
Sascha
The simple error
after trying 500 times to get the theme to work, i found the error, there are missing a _ in the zipfile.
Doc_Themev.0.2 change it to Doc_Theme_v.0.2, and it works like a charm.
Reporting to say it still works with r5.. but not sure what I lost from r5 because I flashed it

(TEST) deblur for 2.2.2 international carriers (not for at&t)

http://www.mediafire.com/?udv7pe1s7afl81z
VIDEO
For international users to deblur their phone of blur. MAY BRICK YOUR PHONE, BUT IT SHOULDN'T
Flash in cwm
Will only change the system directory. all mods and gingerblur/greyblur should still be intact (needs testing tho)
if you have to reset phone. then it wont ask for motoblur setup.
only blur left in is dialer and contacts until replacement is found.
Remember this needs testing on every carrier.
I have personal tested on orange uk, tmobile, french sbfs and all is fine
Broken
lockscreen and fingerprintscanner
Google services force close on setup, (but it will sync contacts, log in to market etc)
When making new message, type number not letters into the TO box will close messaging if try more than 2 letters
Thanks
deblur? u mean it wont ask you to log into blur to be able to use phone??
and after you get in phone when u go to app drawer there wont be an "accounts" apk for motorola??

i doubt it, a GB version will probably be needed to be made.
I have a question before flashing. Does the fingerprint scanner still work? I know the lock screens and scanner for some stupid reason rely on blur to work. If you don't log into your motocrap account..............no fingerprint scanner workie.
