Most likely this will NEVER happen. It is too difficult to find a root exploit and if there is an alternative solution there simply is no point for developers to waste their time on that.

And how does that change anything? Rooting 4.4 will most likely be achieved in exactly the same way. So you might as well get root now and then just flash a prerooted version once 4.4 comes out.
One click rooting solutions are provided only when an exploit is found in a firmware. The newer the firmware the harder they are to find, that's why its easier to just use an already discovered one in lower firmware version by downgrading.

Why look for an exploit in 4.3 when most of us will be upgrading to 4.4 within the next 2 months. alot of work looking for an exploit in what is really a temporary firmware for us and could very well be patched up in 4.4, like 4.2 to 4.3 was.
May as well wait for 4.4 and then look for the exploit

how about posting in the correct section and OH take the flipping time to search and read this is for
HTC One Android Development
NOT the Q & A forum
oh and you might want to watch this

oh and you clearly have not looked or you would have found a thread with an UNMODDED 4.3 ota update
CoreSaturn,
You're obviously new to XDA. Let me tell you one piece of advice. Information is EASY to find here if you LOOK. But learning the lingo can take some time, so #1) Look before you leap. #2) Make sure you post in the correct section. There's a QnA section for almost every device. This is definitely a Q looking for nA. Chances are, someone else asked and the answer is there already.
#3) Nifty search options will give you just about everything you need.
You will be insulted, berated, and mocked by not following those rules. IF YOU MUST POST, always add a disclaimer that you've searched and you're not sure if you're posting in the right section (unless you're certain). If you show that you're modest and might be making a mistake, people will give your mistakes a 'break'.
It's a community of people who've been here for nearly 10 years and you can't just jump in the fire and not get burned. Good luck and welcome to XDA.

[Q] Need Help Rooting C6606 4.2.2 Tmobile

Hey there guys, I'm new to all of these software stuff. I'm trying to get my device simply rooted. I looked everywhere on the forum to see if anyone actually rooted my version of device. Some people say they did it but they didnt post how they got it or the instructions. So if anyone can help me, I would appreciate it. (Also, I don't care too much for roms or customization etc as long everything works perfectly fine. I just need the root in order to use the app called "SixAxis" a mapping for games.)
My device's bootloader is locked im guessing since it's by tmobile, but if there is a root out there, please give me links/exact instructions. I AM A NOOB BTW
Thanks
I currently own a Sony Xperia Z. It's model number is C6606
Android Version is 4.2.2
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-ge32669e
Build number: 10.3.1.E.0.191
By Tmobile
Root many Android
Use method 0. The tool should be self explanatory.

Ok nvm, i figured out what you meant by method 0. So i tried it, and the device rebooted and i checked it with the root checker app, and it didnt root. Nothing was installed or anything like that.
Then i attempted to do it again but this time "run it as administrator". Then the root kit said "the system cannot find the path specified"
Any ideas or other ways to root my device?
First, make sure drivers are all installed. USB debugging needs to be on.
Then make sure nothing else like the PC Companion is running before you use the toolkit.
This should work for you.

about updates !

hello guys
Lollipop coming soon to moto x is currently under tests so my question
if my device is Unlocked / Rooted thats prevent me from any updates ??

Being unlocked and rooted alone will not prevent you from seeing the OTA notification. However, modifications to the /system and/or /recovery partition will more than likely cause the OTA update to fail when you try to install it.
Most people use fastboot/mfastboot to flash a clean stock version of /system and /recovery (assuming you're using TWRP or similar for root access), then take the OTA to get the update. Once updated, reflash TWRP with fastboot/mfastboot, flash SuperSU from TWRP and you're back in business. This is how I upgraded my rooted and unlocked XT1060 from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4.

What @fury683 has posted is the correct answer..
One thing I will caution you about... IF that is Lollipop, you might want to take a wait and see... to make sure rooting is the same. And/Or do some research first.
Initially, due to security changes, rooting lollipop needed a custom kernel. Later that was supposedly solved. But I haven't followed enough to know the complete details.
Chances are good that once you get Lollipop on there, you want be able to downgrade to 4.4.4 or lower.
Better wait for people to confirm first then. I feel naked when my phone is not rooted.

And actually, I'm confused as to why you are posting that picture... 212.44.26 is KitKat 4.4.4 per Moto -> https://motorola-global-en-uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/100576

So I can't root my phone right now if it's G925VVRU2AOF1?

I just want to be clear. If not, is it going to be possible to do in the future?

Predicting the future of development is impossible. A root method can appear 5 seconds from now, or 5 months, or never. People working on finding exploits do not post about it until they have a working method to post.

You'll just have to wait until Marshmallow drops and a root exploit is found for that xP
I'm just hoping that we get root eventually for us that never had a chance to get the older one.

No root for you. at least not until a new exploit is found.
Downgrading
Ok so I accidentally upgraded my phone to g925vvru2aof1 verison, and when I researched to see if I could root I found it wasn’t supported. My question is, can I downgrade this version to a version that you can root? Or am I stuck on this update? Thanks in advance for your help!

What steps have failed? Magisk Manager does properly patch the MR2 boot.img from the stock firmware. Happy to help if you're running into trouble.
