HTC Butterfly S / 9060 Dual SIM - ROOT China Unicom - HTC Butterfly S

Hi,
I bought this mobile in China,
so far I couldn't root this mobile
I brought it to "hboot..with unlocked and tempered sign" with fastboot
but couldn't enter to Recovery mode ( changed over 10 different versions of clockworkmod recovery, and twrp)
Checked the Chinese websites , all of them don't have an answer how to root this mobile.
did anyone succeed?

As I know, there is no version of twrp/cwm for 9060 model here, as there are no users, everyone has either 901e or 901s. You'll need to look on chinese forums.

tsokh is right, the 9060 is a completely different phone from 901S/E. Unfortunately for you, that means you're most likely out of luck. If you can get your hands on a dump of the stock recovery, it might be possible to build TWRP for your phone, but I can't guarantee that.

can you upload boot for 9060?
i tried to install recovery, but now phone can not boot at all T_T

it means .. that there is no chance to get stock rom for htc butterfly s 9060 ?

Not at all, it should be perfectly possible with temproot, it's just going to take a bit of effort. Toward the end of this week I should be able to find some free time to help you people with this phone, but I'll need a volunteer to create dumps from the device.

Sorry, unfortunately, I won't be able to find the time to help you. I'm really sorry about that, but for the next two months I have a lot of stuff of much higher importance to do.
Hopefully someone else might be able to help you.

Hello,
I want to know if this device can get the kit kat version ?
Thank's

I have an htc 9060 bought from China,
I already put Google play on it. But I want to remove
the Chinese apps...and I don't know how!
I didn't do nothing to unlock or root the phone.
I used an app from htc market to put the all Google
services including YouTube...etc.
What is disturbing is the chinese BlinkFeed and all
the other chinese apps.
You have any idea how to remove them?
Thanks for your time and I hope you have experience
with this kind of things.

Hello,
I am struggling with the exact same issue, did anyone manage to remove all the apps with chinese text e.g. blinkfeed and/or get a custom ROM?

Bis

Google Services
Here a message from a newby in the XDA scene... Im having problems installing Google Play, Gmail, Youtube etc. because they all need Google Services. However, when I try installing an APK it crashes everytime (it came without when bought). I am aware of the last 3 numbers in the parentheses but every version I try crashes. Can someone help me what's wrong? A custom ROM would be the best solution obviously, but that doesnt seem available for now Thanks!

CALLING ALL DEVS! S-OFF on HTC SALSA

I don't know how many DEVs are in the salsa forum, i don't lurk around myself but i did notice that the SALSA still doesn't have a software S-OFF solution.
Maybe you should start something like
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1374926
And get the moderators involved?
i can create a batch file to create your gold cards for the salsa but no longer have the salsa sorry
honestly we need help to root and s off salsa without the clip .....
Hey Salsa owners! I'm from the Wildfire S forum. If there are any devs working on a software S-OFF like us, we would like to co-operate with you guys. Seeing that the Salsa has almost the same specs as the Wildfire S, why not work together to get it done faster? Also, we need someone with embedding skills. Hope we get a positive reply from you guys!
im still currently running the Salsa on the chinese rom i got, so far ive expanded it a little furhter, allowing a ton load more apps and refinded the links2sd alittle so its running nicely.
as davies put we both can get you the batch files to copy etc, and i can get you any other files anyone so requires to do any work...heck id even test lmao.
one thing we really need is the recovery menu to fully function properly, maybe get support from the makers etc.
im still currently roaming the net for a dev or someone to create a rom like other htc users have.
as for the clip, yes its an arse....but me and davies are willing to help anyone in the uk, i wont personally post mine out, but am willling to help other users out.

They released it for us too!!!!!
This should mean all should be able to to root etc cause pretty sure the bootloader been unlocked then it is a big step for the users without a htc clip
i cannot update the hboot section. so the xtc clip will have to do for users that cant access the sections mentioned

old !!
people here are finfing out ways to unlock bootloader without hboot update...**** HTC hasnt released an update yet...HTC= morons !!
I really wish HTC had given the kind of support that Sony and Samsung are providing. Samsung is giving really great hardware and Sony is giving great software support. because of this low memory issue, Salsa has become a secondary phone to me. Using Xperia arc and wondering why I didn't buy it earlier. Unlocking the bootloader from Sony's dev site was a cakewalk. I am still holding out with Salsa and hope one day we can get rid off this S-Off issue. Clearly, there are no hopes of getting ICS on Salsa with this much internal memory even though cheaper Xperia Minis with 1 Ghz processor will be getting a timely update! :-(
Salsa is a complete rip off esp for those majority users who have no clue about rooting.
HTC wake up guys!!!

[Q] HTC One UK Three Mobile.

Hi all, This is my first post so please be gentle!!
I have searched the forums but dont really know too much about what I need so please forgive me if im going over old ground.
Basically Im sick of waiting for the OTA 4.2.2 update of my HTC One from 3UK.:crying: As everyone else is getting their update 3UK have changed their tune numerous times about weather the update has been pulled, Is in testing, Is being rolled out or now low and behold its back in testing again. They never give a straight answer and after tweeting them someone else has reccomended changing my CID? to allow me to ge the update.
I have been reading this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317536 and I was wondering if this is indeed what I need to do. If I follow the instructions in this thread I understand it changes the CID on my phone, but how do I then go about getting the 4.2.2 update?
Where would I get it from and would that affect any future OTA updates. I dont want to root the phone as Im quite happy with Sense 5 I just want to be able to get the 4.2.2 update without having to wait for three to push it.
So basically can I use the procedure in the link above to change my CID. And after doing this where do I then get the update from. Do I then just check for updates??
Thanks in advance for any replies!

Use Revone to s-off and unlock, change CID from H3G__001 to HTC__001, flash the unbranded RUU, updates will appear when available on your device.
Use search for all of the above, unless someone else wants to give you the links..

The reason why Three are taking long is because they're loading it with their logos and bloatware.
Let me know how you get on.

My mum's a GP, if she ignored all the people who came in asking her the same questions every day, she'd be out of a job and would have some pretty sick patients
OP I appreciate you're new but you could have found the answer to your question yourself without posting this. You won't get any carrier updates from 3 until 3 release them, even if you have superbloodyunicornCID, isn't that obvious? All superCID does is allow you to bypass regional ROM restrictions. The only way you're going to get 4.2.2 before three release it is by unlocking your bootloader and flashing a stock 4.2.2 ROM. All you'll probably do messing about with your CID is brick your phone, and then you'll have to spam the forums more.

Hi. You will have to change your CID and whilst doing anything of this nature carries a risk, it's a very low one.
I too was stock brand with 3. Follow one of the many video guides to use revone and get s-off as suggested above. Then download the stock wwe (world wide English) RUU and follow the on-screen instructions. The one I used was a standard 1.28 version. Again, use one of the great guides on here to download adb and change your CID to htc__001. Bear in mind there are 2 underscores there. You're phone will then see a small update and then again will recognise the 4.2.2 update.
That's if you want everything official. Mike1986 has a great guide on all this as does vomer in the android development thread.
If you want to run a Rom using 4.2.2 then it's just as simple, I personally was using mike1986's android revolution.
It all sounds daunting but take your time and follow the guides and you will be fine. It's very difficult to brick these phones.
Always make a nandroid backup before doing anything just in case.

[Q] HTC J One HTL22 - is it worth it

Hello XDA,
I realize there is not too much information around about Japanese version of HTC ONE (aka J HTL22). I am wondering should I get the japanese version with osfaiukeitai and microsd slot or normal version. Here are my concers - please let me know if anyone has any clue:
1) Will it be possible to root the HTL22 ? if so, which method works?
2) Will iot be possible to use/install custom ROMs from this forum to HTL22?
3) Will MicroSD and/or osaifukeitai work with a custom ROM? I realize drivers will be needed for that. Is it possible to retreive the drivers from original ROMs and incorporate them into the new Custom ROM?
4) is it true that HTL22 is sold sim-unlocked, as rumor suggest?
any advise and info will be very appreciated!
Thank you
Bump. anyone. pls?
I think you better to consult with Mr.fnoji - you can contact him with Twitter @fnoji.
As far as I know -
1) yes. Use the revone with alternative binary.
2) I doubt it, but, people like tako0920 or fnoji are maintaining their custom roms.
3) J One's custom rom can exploit the unique MicroSD slot, but I don't know if xda's custom rom does have that feature also.
4) No, you should unlock it with fnoji's method.

I think the accessories will work, but it will help if you are more specific about which ones you want to use.
As for root - the only way to root and unlock the phone is to send it to someone who knows how to do it. Root-unlock method is not available publicly.
Althouh it seem like J-version ov Revone will work and unlock the bootloader. It will be easy to sim-unlock the phone once bootloader is unlocked. However, i do not know which command does it. trying to find out now. any help/ideas are welcome.
Yeah, if I fail to find an unlock method for HTC-One online, i think I am going to Galaxy s4 Active-Orange... I know it is not quite water-proof but I like the design very much
hi,
actually, i am still on the stage whether to choose HTC J One or other phones (like Galaxy S4 SC-04E or Xperia).
so, i would like to get your opinion about HTC J One.
right now i am still using Softbank but I am planning to switch to au or docomo by next month.
is it really worth getting the HTC J One? or if you have the chance you're getting a different one like SC-04E or Xperia?
are there any problems like lagging, stuttering, freezing, etc?
at first I plan to use it as it is. simply stock. just to have all the functions/features working.
but I noticed in your signature that you have successfully rooted your device.
i might do the same as well if i'll choose HTC J One...
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

[Q/REQ] CWM for SM-G730W8 variant?

Also can anyone tell me if Recovery Builder works or can someone teach me to use it? Thanks in advance guys.

Well Flash Gordon only works with some zip files; I don't know why. Kn0x0ut http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2550120 is a good alternative to Flash Gordon and possibly CWM since we still can't unlock out bootloader. I've been looking around and I found that the s4 mini has a method of installing CWM and unlocking the bootloader through the process but I'm not sure if it works. I don't really want to test it because it would be a hassle to have to unbrick my phone and download all of my apps again if this method doesn't work. The reason I think this might work is because it works with the Canadian version of the S4 mini(SGH-I257M) and that's different from the normal s4 mini(GT-I9195). Since the SM-G730W8 is a Canadian phone that was released at the same time as the SGH-I257M there's a chance that their bootloader's can be unlocked in the same way. If it works for the SM-G730W8 then it would work for the SM-G730A and SM-G730V. Here's the link to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364980 . The developer and I are not responsible for any bricked phones. If you want to test this go ahead and be sure to report back here to tell us if it works. Good luck if you decide to test this. I might test it in the summer when I have time but I can't risk bricking my phone at the moment and I might even buy I new phone soon because this phone is just not meeting my needs for gaming.
BTW Samsung didn't repair my phone. they said they made "mechanical adjustments" to it but it doesn't matter what they did because my phone still has dead pixels around the screen. I'm just pointing this out because Samsung is really trying hard to lose customers now lol. First they install KNOX to all of their devices, then they lock the bootloaders on our phones to the point where it's near impossible to unlock and then they don't do anything when you send your phone in for repairs -_- I think I'm done with Samsung.
I likely shouldn't be posting in an older thread, but I felt it important to notify. The S4 mini recovery that you linked to was the only one that came close to working on my SM-G730W8. It booted into a very buggy and dysfunctional version with a dimmed screen and a constant vibration on. it was useless, but is was the only custom recovery I could get to boot.
I should also note that previously on the stock 4.2.2 firmware the boot loader was locked, and it would just boot loop any custom recovery. After installer the new stock 4.4.2 firmware, the boot loader appears to be unlocked, because recoveries don't seem to boot loop, and as I stated above one of them actually booted. My issue is that I can't find a recovery that actually works properly for this device, likely because it's been locked up until this point. I'll keep searching, and if need be I will have to try and make my own.
SM-G730W8
can ı ask a question ? is i8200 and SM-G730W8 same phones ?
I don't believe that they are the same phone. Otherwise, when I tried the recoveries designed for them, than it would have loaded.

Question is quite simple - trying to load spanish as a generic language support in the canadian version g730w8...
Cannot find a way to load it up. I figure that i747m can be converted somewhat to t999 american version..
can g730w8 s3 mini be converted to GT-I9195L the latin american version to add language support if so How?
Are there any simpler ways to go by this?
I do not want to use morelocale or other apps to just enable half half support but rather change the whole device into a spanish version..
Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks in advance..

Unfortunately, you cannot convert the SM-G730W8 into the GT-I9195 because the hardware of the 2 devices are different. If you flashed a GT-I9195 ROM to the SM-G730W8, you would brick your phone. I personally have no experience with changing to entire system's language to Spanish so I don't really know how to point you in the right direction.

Have you tried looking into the language and input section of the settings?

[Q] Root and Custom ROM on Verizon HTC One Mini 2/HTC One Remix

Hey guys,
So I recently got the HTC One Remix (the Verizon version of the HTC One Mini 2) and I would like to root it and install a custom ROM for it (preferably Cyanogenmod). The problem is verizon makes it hard to do any of these things and sadly switching carriers isn't really an option any time soon so I am trying to make do.
HTC-Dev reportedly won't work with verizon phones and many of the solutions for the HTC One Mini 2 don't work for the Remix even though they are essentially the same phone. Cyanogenmod has the HTC One Mini 2 listed as a supported device but I am not sure if that will work with the Remix because a carrier is not specified.
I have yet to see anyone who has had any luck, so is there anyone out there at all who is running a custom ROM on a rooted HTC One Remix? If so, what did you use to obtain root (sunshine maybe?) and what custom ROM are you running?
I'm majorly new to this sort of thing so hopefully the solutions are relatively easy so I don't end up bricking my phone.
Any help at all would be much appreciated!

As far as I can see there aren't many hardware differencec between the two phones. The only problem is that at this point there is no other way of unlocking these phones then trough HTC dev. I don't think there is a lot of development going on with unlocking with other methods. How do you know HTC dev isn't supporting your device? Did you check if "All other supported models" in the list?

It a verizon exclusive and HTC Dev doesn't work on verizon phones. The carrier blocked it. There's also a disclaimer somewhere deep on the htc site.
Thanks though. I'm just frustrated because I like the phone but I also really want to root it. I've tried a couple of the easier methods like sunshine and towelroot and those don't work I'm only on 4.4.2 but with my low skill level in this area I'm not sure if there's much I can do. I know s-off and root aren't the same thing but that's supposed to make it easier to find a way to achieve root right?
Aha then i'm afraid there isn't much you can do. Only wait for s-off because but I don't think it is goanna happen. My previous device is a One X and they had a huge user/developer base but never achieved s-off. It seems HTC really did a good job at closing this down.

I need Stock recovery Please Send me the link :crying:
HTC One mini 2/remix stock recovery
Hi. I might be able help you here.
Here is a link to what I'm pretty sure is the stock recovery. Note this dumb forum won't let me post links, so reassemble this yourself..
h t t p s
w w w . androidfilehost . c o m
/?fid=95784891001615233
Can't remember the exact cmd line.. something like adb flash recovery <file>
Now for the rom, I'll have to see if the link I got it from is still valid when I get home. There's a guy 'jcase' I think on the IRC that uploaded his personal backup that worked for me.
To be clear, the rom is for the HTC One 'remix' - Verizon's branded HTC one mini 2. There is NO working cyanogenmod that I know of.
btw you will need the TWRP recovery to restore from the rom backup when you get it, so the stock recovery might only be useful if the flash still has the recovery image on it.
Certainly worth trying first.
Good luck,
-M
Xda Devs, please we HTC one remix users need a custom Rom and s-off for our device.... We would really appreciate it if you help us
