My apologies if this has been covered before but i want to know how to get a podcast that is only avalable in itunes to my phone ??
do i have to download and drag across manually or is there another way of syncing, the podcast i want shows on none of the apps.
Any help would be great

Hello, as far as I know iTunes is only able to sync to iDevices. But you could set up WMP (or your preffered sync software) to use the location where iTunes saves the podcast and sync them from there.

I would like a piece of software that will download whatever Podcasts i want (either on my PC or PPC) and then ensure that they're on my device for when i'm travelling. It should save them to SD too...

I'd like to set up a sync with some of the BBC podcasts for example...
I use Doppler to pull down my podcasts from the web and Windows media player 11 to sync (using a playlist) to my phone.
The only thing I can't get to sync is video podcast's.
Note: I have never messed with podcasts up to this point, so I will easily look like I don't know anything on this

I have MS Voice command, and hope to be able to call up podcasts with it. What I'm not sure if is if MS Voice Command requires MS Media Player to operate for playing music. I assumed so, so I thought I woudl download podcast mp3 files, and create a playlist called Podcasts.
But, I find for some reason that when I try to import the downloaded MP3 into the library that it will not come in.
So, I"m left wondering, what is best method to do podcasts on the Tilt, and be able to call them up with MS Voice Command?
Any thoughts based on that? (In meantime, I"ll be reading the multitude of threads on RSS Readers, etc.)

Yes you can. However, you will need to sync it through desktop WMP. Before you sync it you must fix it's properties though. You must give it a title & Artist name, Genre, Album Name, etc... In MSVC you can only launch media by these types of commands, i.e. Play news, play podcast play "artist name". Read the MSVC help file regarding media selections.
Also depending what you mark the MP3 format as being hanled by (File Asosciation) you can have it play in most popular media players. I prefer TCPMP.

That must be my problem. I'll see if I can figure that out. Thanks for the input. Sounds kinda painful though, as I'd have to manually input properties on every one I download to get it to load in WMP.
I've been thinking of looking into the TCPMP. Will MS Voice command work with that application?

Hmmm...actually, my problme is that WMP won't even pull the file in for me to then add the necessary information to synch it. I'll have to figure that one out.

I have about 4GB of music on my micro SD that I copied off my iPod, so it's in acc format which the audio manager doesn't recognize. I downloaded TCPMP and the acc plugin and it plays the music but its doesn't show the song info (title, artist etc) till you open the song.
Also you can't search by artist, or genre like you can in audio manager
Can anyone recommend a good audio player or someway to get audio manager to recognize acc files
I really prefer opera mini over IE but I have to go into the java app first to select it, is there anyway to get an opera shortcut onto the start screen

Opera Mobile is designed for smartphones and should give you a regular icon to load it with, mini is made primarily for regular phones with only their crappy build in browsers which is why it works only in java.
iTunes music is the most annoying on planet earth. You can convert it to mp3 or delete the DMA off of it to allow it to play properly but its time consuming and annoying. I dont know of any plugin for Audio Manager that will allow you to play the iTunes music, only what other people have created for other players.
Now if these songs were once full on mp3's or cd's that you copied into iTunes you would be better off copying / ripping those files over to the sd card.

Yeah most of it is CD rips, I was hoping to avoid having to rip them again
When you initially ripped them did you tell iTunes to connect to the net and pull the information and creat an id3 tag for it? If not then thats why none of the track info is pulling over. iTunes will read the title / cd / artist name off the disct but when you use them as mp3's or in other players I have heard of some issues with the information not being read properly...
All my music is in mp3, ogg, FLAC and other formats on my computer, if my wife wants anything she pulls it over. She has bought some things off iTunes but they are such a pain to use elsewhere that eh.
You should have set ITunes to only rip to MP3 for compatibility reasons such as this. I'm not too sure what/if anything can read aac files on Windows Mobile. I know their is a way to get Opera Mini's icon as well as a way to have it function as your default browser (that is clicking on hyperlinks in e-mails, sms, ect) bring you to Opera Mini. There's quite a lot of info on that if you search.
As far as Opera Mobile, yea it may be designed for Smartphone, and yea it may be better than IE, but it does not in anyway compete with Opera Mini in terms of speed and website rendering.
As great as it is, the Hero is always going to attract comparisons with the iPhone. Both have their merits, but one area the Hero lags behind the iPhone is music management. The ease with which iTunes syncs music to the iPhone (or iPod) is a breeze, and I'd like to see the same with my Hero. Is there anything already, or does someone fancy coding a Windows program to do the same?
you can copy music just as files to your sdcard. although i would not call that "syncing" it is IMHO the best way there is, as it is portable to most devices and operating systems out there. don't know the result, but this topic was discussed already.

Winamp
You can use the good old Winamp to sync music to your phone, pretty much like iTunes.
I use Salling Media Sync . With it I can keep using iTunes and more or less sync my music like I used to.
Edit: I see no real need to buy the program. The free version works well.
I am using SongBird + Folder Sync add on. But it has some bugs for now.
Doubletwist is No. 1.
I tried doubleTwist, but it doesn't update tags after I edit them, so I switched to SongBird.
Do you use FolderSync or other add on? FolderSync gives some errors. And my problem with the SongBird is it can watch only 1 folder, but I download music to 2-3 different folders in 2 drives.

Just got new HTC One and lovin' it!
It was a tough decision moving from WP7 on a Titan but I'm generally very pleased.
The one thing about WP7 was it's synchronisation of everything without effort.
So my issue is that it would appear HTC Sync Manager is not up to the same spec as Zune when it comes to syncing music.
Don't get me wrong I can manage with WMP12 probably but I still can't buy tunes in Google Play Store on my phone and have them automatically sync to my PC music library.
HTC Sync Manager doesn't even accurately reproduce my PC music library. I have a playlist in WMP12 with 219 tunes in it and HTC SM sees only 134 songs in the same playlist. I have another playlist with 12 tunes in it and Sync Manager sees none of them!
Am I missing something or is it just how it goes?
I've done some searching of the forum but don't find any answers.
I've found out that HTCSM needs phone to be in USB debugging mode and Window 7Home 64bit needs it out of debugging mode otherwise it says it's disconnected. All seems a bit hit and miss to me.
If anyone has any tips I would love to hear them.

Hi, seems you have the same pain as me.. i come from iPhone though..
While reading your post I could not help but think that Winamp might be the solution. It's able to index your library, from WMP as well as iTunes.. and has mobile sync capability (music only) .. I don't know if it works both ways like you describe ( download music from phone)..
Some apps let you make backups of music ( sandisc memory zone ) which might get you some of the way..
I'm new to android so I'm guessing here.. will listen in if someone else had all the answers

I'm probably one of the few who doesn't care about any form of sync cos I'm a little OCD in that I need to know where each and every song goes so I manually transfer them over xD
But yes I do know that Android doesn't have a fully featured sync/backup solution.

The only way to get purchased music from Google Play onto your computer is to download them on your computer via either the Music Manager application (which I believe will only download your entire library... a bit bandwidth-heavy) or to load up play.google.com/music on your PC and manually download the files there. This is a Google Play thing, not an HTC thing. When you download music from Google Play on your phone, it doesn't download as a simple mp3 file. It'll be something like 12812814581271.dat. You could probably rename the file to an mp3 and it'd be fine, but good luck figuring out which song is which.
