Enjoy

As usual another 1 for me

Glad to see a new rom coming out ! One small thing though : your thread states it's 4.4.2, yet your features list shows 4.2.2. It got me troubled for a few seconds.
Anyway, thanks for your dedication !

Yeah you got me!
Honest copy paste mistake As you guessed am building this since 4.2.2 :highfive:

Thank you for bringing this to us.
I did a clean wipe of system, data and cache, and then flashed it. It boots to a fuzzy, 'double-vision' screen (two of everything, split down the middle but only half way down the screen..). The screen doesn't respond and I can go no further.

I had to use the buttons combo to get back to recovery. As you note, ADB doesn't do it.
With Device Powered Off And Unplugged
- Press and hold Power Button + Volume Down
- When the LG logo shows up, release the power button only
- Now press and hold the Power and Volume Up button while keeping your hold on the Volume Down button
- When the factory reset screen appears, release your hold on all buttons
You will asked if you want to do a factory reset by pressing the power button twice. Do so, don't worry this will actually take you back into recovery and not reset your device. From there you can re-flash any safe rom.

I'd be over the Moon if he ported Rastakat as it's my favourite rom .
Not sure if it's possible at this point in time though.

Demetris, I love your work, but I think this ROM should be fixed or put down.
There are no reports of it working fine, it has display driver issues for everybody.
Anyone who tries to install it just has to go through the hassle of getting to recovery through the key combo.
This ROM is a trap. By accident. Please, fix it, or take it off the internet.

Rom still broken. Massive artifact once booted up.

Same here. Touchscreen unresponsive, and double batteries/WiFi icons. Don't give up Demetris.

Status update on Carbon.
Work is re started since we now have an aosp kernel we can use
New carbon rom is booting up just fine and previous display issues are no more! but now i get a persistent FC popup with phone process and it wont go away even after pressing ok several times
Meanwhile i have contacted Carbon team and problem is currently under investigation.

Hmm i can't confirm that... I'm on that rom from first day. And for me it is smooth without any lags. What I've recognized is if i want flash a other kernel i have to reboot more than once... In this time its laggy but after that the rom works great on each gouvernor and sheduler.

hello people, i will be getting my hands on a p880 sometime next month, and i am already very excited to see the amount of development here...
so @OP,
how can i build this from source?
the official carbon github does not have the device trees for the p880, far as i can see only cm10.1 has the device trees.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Try our mirror site carbon.mattman.org. However some of the builds are not fully there and will be small like 8mb, so be sure what you are downloading is the correct size (between 120ish and 150ish)

Not really sure what you mean, but it doesnt matter what ROm you are currently running since you need to fully wipe your phone and flash carbon anyways.
What I'm saying is. What if we aren't able to install the latest official release of jelly bean on our bionic. What if I'm stuck on a leak and not the ota release. Will this ROM work on that our must I have the latest version officially released by Motorola to use this ROM?
Sent from my XT875 using xda premium
It's a kexec rom, so it actually comes with its own alternative kernel, and redirects the phone to run on it instead of using the kernel from the stock rom. So I believe you could still be on GB and run this rom.
What I don't know is if you need safestrap and use slot 1, or if you could replace your stock rom using a different bootstrap.
I'm thinking safestrap is the way to go, to be on the safe side.
Well safe strap was always my personal choice of bionic recovery. And I took the plunge and installed it.... It works!!!! Lol. Nice ROM it was a little slow to respond at first to things but its running smoothly now. Not sure if I like it more than avatar ROM or not yet.
Sent from my XT875 using xda premium
It runs well for me, but there's not much overhead ram available, so I keep down the amount of ongoing processes. This also unfortunately causes halo to be rather laggy, so I've disabled it. Now I'm trying to figure out how to make more available ram, and what processes to trim.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
How do you access the ##PROGRAM menu in this? It doesn't bring anything up.
I cannot get a data signal without this; I have my Bionic modified to run on Page Plus and need to access the menu to change a setting (not one of the settings listed in the normal network menu). Thanks.
That dial code and menu may be limited to the stock rom, AOSP probably doesn't have it. What's the setting you need?

About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
Features
Android 4.4.4
As of today:
This is all very much a work in progress. Carbon Fibers are still in the process of being merged with 4.4.4, but I'm sure it'll be ready soon...
(all features will have to be verifed)
Halo is gone due to bugs this feature was causing to other features, so omni switch is here to replace it.
Bugs:
None for now!
U tell me...
* By flashing this, you automatically void your warranty!

4) Join our G+ Community: http://community.carbon-rom.com This is where we spend the bulk of our time and the best way to reach us and other community members. We update and frequent this community far more than XDA, simply due to time constraints and the convenience of G+.
5) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Thank you so much for this ROM for ZR !! Been waiting for very long time!
Edit 1: Successfully flashed the ROM and restored all apps with titanium backup. Will run it for few days and report back. So far it's smooth!! It flies!
Edit 2 : Enabled Double-Tap to Wake but it doesn't work. The screen lights up after double tap, but the screen doesn't detect any touch anymore.

possible bug?
Hi Alx31TLse,
Not sure if its a bug or I'm just a noob, but i tried to add some lock screen shortcuts. on the lockscreen however they get displayed in a straight line below the time widget but there is no way select them.
If i enable 8 lockscreen shortcuts i then cannot select which shortcuts i would like to add, it gets greyed out.

NOTICE:
This is still Unofficial because we aware some problems we need to fix before we can make it official. Also this build may contain some modifications I test. They will be annouced in my posts then.
KNOW BUGS:
-FC of Superuser and Performance in Settings
-Tabs sometimes do not show up in CarbonFibers
GENERAL MODIFICATIONS:
-Crosscompiled using SaberMod 4.8 (Rom) and SaberMod 4.7 (Kernel) which promises some performance boosts and better batterylifetime.
Awesome, Thanks for the new ROM for our device. I can't wait to give it a try when I get home tonight.

Hi, I installed SuperUser from the play store and was able to access SuperUser options through the app, but if I try through Settings, I still get a crash.
Also Android Settings crashes when I tap on "Performance"
I also noticed that on the page in the Settings that allows you to edit the navigation bar, there are no options (its blank).
Unfortunately I un-installed the ROM after all this
Running nice and smooth on my n8013. Other than performance settings crashing, I've found no issues yet.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk
Would be nice if someone is able to get me some logcats. Unfortunally I can't run it all the time on "my" N8010 as it's my fathers and he needs it so I can't flash testbuilds every now. (Which is also why it still contains some bugs and why it's not official yet.)
This bug with CF is known, we work on fixing it. For the rest please get me some logcats so I can look into this issues.

I've been running this for the past few days and it's running very well. our side of a few settings force closes.
nothing shows up in /data/log or in logcat after the fc so I can't send them to you. Any ideas?
Also carbon filters options occasionally are blank. have to shut down settings and go back in for them to appear. next time it happens I'll send a screenshot.
All in all its running quick and snappy. thanks so much for the release.

Do a adb logcat or logcat in therminal please, would be really kind This CF problem is known by our team and appears on all our Tablets (which is why we don't officially support them yet) We work on a fix for it but it seems like our only solution is to completly rewrite the whole app which sadly takes its time.

Its been a long time since I'd check the 10.1 threads. I about fell out of my chair when saw Carbon ROM. I've run Carbon on my N5 and N7 for quite some time. Just want to say thanks to the OP for the time and effort to make this ROM available to the 10.1
New Build is up. We upgraded our Source to 4.4.4 published tonight so the Nightly I just uploaded is 4.4.4 too.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
hi, i re-installed the latest version and found that the on-screen Home and Recents button were non-functional. The back button worked though.
The new 4.4.4 update is working great so far. If I run into any bugs, I'll let you know. (Using GT-N8013)
Same here. I've been using for 2 days now and no bugs or kinks. Battery life is decent as well. I'm thrilled to have a top line AOSP ROM for my N8013
