[ROM][Kernel][Bootloader] OUYA EPRJ Kernel 3.4.37, OUYA-Enhanced rom, repacked image - Ouya Android Development

Kernel:
EternityProject Kernel 3.4.37 for OUYA (CPU 2GHz - GPU 650MHz)
Suitable for StockPlus Rom 1.0.519r2
You will also need EPRJ bootloader:
EternityProject TPL Bootloader for OUYA
nchantmnt said:
Kholk's kernel is designed to be used with StockPlus Rom 1.0.519r2.
If you decide to use it with another rom there might/will be unpredictable issues like no access to internal storage and many more.
The Images here are created to fix this problem.
Only use them for the firmware-version they are designed for and of course only if you know what you are doing.

Ok, awesome... now my question is, would it work on Stock OUYA rom? cause i see someone is having massive issues when he flashed this kernel to his Stock OUYA Rom and now he's having all kinds of issues from not being able to download to sd, ADB, random reboots and others... or is this for a custom OUYA rom? i don't plan on sticking with the stock OUYA Rom for long but i'm not sure if i want to flash this yet without knowing if it works fine with stock OUYA rom, someone said it works perfect on "stock plus rom"...

I'm watching that board anxiously for updates. My Ouya's been collecting dust for some time now, would be nice to get some new rom support

I'm sorry, really don't know. Check the EPRJ forum for updates. I didn't test it. I'm not so advance to try that in this phase.

hopefully this kernel fixes the HDD problems that i'm having were my HDD constantly turns on and off after a while so i have to unplug it and plug it back in quick for it to work again, i've already broke one of my 160gb HDD by hitting it hard thinking that the hard drive was at fault every time the OUYA turned off my HDD, i can't be the only person experiencing this and im willing to bet that the STOCK OUYA KERNEL has something to do with it...

That's why I'm not using my 1TB HDD, OUYA almost destroyed it. Now SMART shows only half of permonace even I formated my HDD

sorry guys, didnt want to scare anyone
that was me, having issues with kholks kernel, but like i said i'm using his kernel repacked with stock ramdisk on almost stock firmware and this is not what this kernel was designed for, so i had to expect issues.
fyi: since repack i can access /sdcard like supposed to
for the reboots i can imagine that either too low voltage for high load/frequency or generally weak chip i got there.
didn't have much time to do some in-depth testing thoug since i got myself a new pc today and had to set up everything first
for now i'm going to keep everything the way kholk intended it to be (stockromplus) and try how good it works. only then i will retry on uptodate firmware.
but hey: how was your experience with this great kernel?

i haven't tested the kernel on my OUYA yet, but i might now that i just got me a second new OUYA from my best bud that he asked me to buy him an OUYA back in august 2013 and never opened it or used it so now he passed it on to me to put it to good use , now that i got a second OUYA i'm going to try the kernel on my personal OUYA since the ethernet port **** the bed 2 months ago and i can't get it back in working order and ill keep the new OUYA ready just in case anything goes wrong...

Life is good for those who wait! I have already stripped my StockRomPlus of all OUYA apps and used Xposed (Greenify, Bootmanager and others) to make this a fast Android-only machine. And that's with the stock kernel!
Think I'll wait for another release before taking any steps (can't remember what recovery I have installed, it's been a while) but good times lie ahead!

.. mine not working very well .. 1st boot is get to main screen .. and after a few second it restart .. after that .. no success .. it keep restarting ..
maybe if it start from lower clock .. we can overclock bit by bit to get the right freq for our ouya .. kholk said our ouya may be too WEAK to handle this clock ..
will wait for next update .. cheers ..

are you on stock or stock plus? maybe is overheating, the stock OUYA fan can only do so much, i would try to open it the top cover to the console for more ventilation, i know this might sound crazy but you can also try forcing more air to the ouya by taking the top cover from the OUYA and putting a small house fan on HIGH against the opening and see if that helps. Like i said, it sounds crazy but that's what i would do just to make sure...

.. on stock .. anyway .. this is the 1st release .. next will be surely get better .. i guess .. cheers

shouldnt be really overheating. cooling should be on constantly and since i also have reboots i can assure you they do happen at way lower temperatures than what i would call overheating. limit for ouya should be about 80-85 degrees celsius and ouya reboots for me at aout 55-56 degrees.
if i keep the case open it does not reboot. my shot at this is that we might be able to increase stability by increasing voltage for overcklock-frequencies a bit.
again: we cannot be absolutely sure these issues aren't caused by stock ramdisk / rom as well until we get same on both roms. anyone tested already?

Please can someone help???

.. hey nchantmnt ..
is it possible to lower clock using app like tegra overclock .. not ouya version but google play version .. since it can lower cpu & gpu clock ..
on stock the highest setting is 1700 on cpu & 520 on gpu .. and this working fine
the range is wide .. 1700-2000 & 520-650 .. may be we can find max setting without changing stock or open ouya ..

of course its possible to limit cpu and cpu clock in userspace.
for trickstermod should do the trick
open case: max 2000mhz reaching ~53° C (shold be almost near limit)
closed case: max 1700mhz reaching ~51 °C
1800mhz is failing after 5 runs of antutu reaching almost 63°C
bear in mind these are not the limits of t33 soc, but a higher temperature does need higher current to stay stable.

Well I can tell you that this kernel does not work like it should on stock, the kernel was made for custome rom and its been confirmed already...Over at eternity project kernel forum post #8 The administrator Kholk said that OUYA shuts down with the case CLOSED during heavy load, but no problems with shut down with the case OPENED. I think I'll also wait till a updated version with a dummies guide on how to exactly flash it and if we need to use EP bootloader or stock bootloader , instructions are not very clear...

True, maybe is not overheating but Over at eternity project kernel forum post #8 The administrator Kholk said that OUYA shuts down with the case CLOSED during heavy load, but no problems with shut down with the case OPENED. So im guessing is something to do with not having enough airflow but I'm just going to wait for a better guide and an updated version of the kernel...

Don't mix anything up kholk just said he leaves his case open and that there is a automatic shutdown function if the device reaches 85 degrees celcius. We are nothing near 85 degrees yet, so don't care about that.
And just for your interest: if you repack kholks kernel with the ramdisk of stock ROM it should work just the same. I tried and didnt get any issues I didn't have on stockplus later.

Horrible All Around Performance

I have an HTC Hero (Sprint) and everything about it is horrible. The internet speed, the responsiveness and just general usage. I used to use this Hero as my phone and it is now my sisters phone and I am trying to make it better for her.
Can anybody help me out with a few things....
1.) What is your radio version?
2.) What ROM / Kernel combo are you using?
3.) What OC speeds are you using (if any)
4.) UV?
------
Any other tips to improving performance on this phone?
The internet speed is absolutely horrible even in areas where I have full bars. I've tried multiple radios and I am having no luck.

1. the .29 radio, updating the PRL might help also (search the forum for how to please)
Network speeds could be slow due to your area also. One way I've found that works is applying the 3G tweaks by zeppelinrox. It's part of his V6 Supercharger Script thread. Again search the forums but I'll tell you it's located in Android Hacking and General.
2. Our Zero Hero Sense 3.5 ROM, We include the latest kernel. Only problem we have is Bluetooth. We also have DX 2.3.7 and DX 2.3.4 ROMS available.
3. Every Hero runs OC speeds differently due to the Hero being made with some different hardware. Mine can top at 768 and be stable. Others can't.
4. UV I assume you mean undervolt. Which cannot be done on the Hero. Sorry.
Also to add on to Matt. The safest OC speed that is universal is 691. I have a rare one that goes up to around 876 or so.

In the Phones defense it's quite old. The fact that there are still people who are perfectly contempt with the Phone in this day and age just shows how amazing it is. I also just got this phone myself as a hand-me down. Now that I've started using a smartphone there is no going back.
The first thing I can say is that it is a given to root and flash this phone. I've tried many different roms. Pretty much all of the ones in the XDA-Development forums and the only one that really stuck to me like glue is DX OS. It runs smoother then any other rom I flashed.
1) 2.24.02.10.29
2) DX OS 2.3.4 / 2.6.35.14-TeamHeroC
3) 768 mhz (It seems to be stable for me)
4) No idea what UV is refering to but dastin seemed to have answered that.
Hey someone does use DX thank you
Of course someone would use it. Its a great OS. I would be posting in the development forums but I need 10+ posts. So I'm stuck in the General and Q + A forums until then.

Yeah, same here. I've been lurking for some time now (mostly due to research and whatnot), and am moving toward the 10 post threshold finally.
I am simply amazed with the zerohero ROM. I can't believe how quickly it responds. It really is a wonderful setup. DX seriously rocks as well, though I haven't messed with it in a while.
I generally go back and forth between those and the deck 2.3.7 using go launcher. That's a nice combo.
Sadly enough, this phone will probably go to my sister-in-law as she busted her Intercept (POS) and needs a phone. I'm trying to figure out what would be the easiest (most impressively working) ROM for her to use. . . she doesn't get into this sort of thing. . .

[Q] Just got a p990 (need advice from experienced users)

Hi, new to android. new to p990 (*just brought one)
have modded fones b4. used to be a geek on (modmymoto.com) makin monsterpacks and firmware hackin etc on v3x's.
anway
i talked to a professional today about the X2
he said dont ROOT it because of some voltage glitches with will damage the cpu eventually, also. not to install android 4.0 until it comes out from LG for my country.
I thought hmm well . I will find the community and talk to them
WHAT SAY YOU P990 USERS.
anyone had problems once rooted?
anyone had problems installing 4.0 (is it faster and i hear 30% more batt life?)
any glitches. whos bricked there fone?
Thanks for your interest/attention.
Look forward to your advice(s)
No problems here
Only thing with ICS ROMs (cm9) is there is NO HW acceleration yet... Means you can't video record with stock camera. Use a app called Camera Illuision. And for playing videos use MX Player.
Battery life, hm.. The same really. Try to match RIL and BB (use GetRIL from Google Play), try differents kernels..
Hi!
There are no disadvantages by rooting your phone I believe, at least I haven't encountered any...
As far as I know, there are also no voltage glitches on our phone which can harm the CPU. Tegra 2 is actually quite good, only their support sucks...
But, you need to know that once you want to undervolt your CPU, you can only undervolt to the minimum of 770 mV. The Tegra CPU, won't go any lower than that. I mean, you can UV lower, but it won't have any effect... , so 770 mV is the minimum.
Also, if I were you, I wouldn't wait for the official LG release of ICS, because that might take months before it is eventually released, just like Gingerbread. LG and NVIDIA are to blame for this. They are responsible for the delayed release date, because of their poor support.
k. so from what i gather. just root it. stay on 2.3.4?
i dont what to substute " acess to camera facilities and playback facilities" with other apps etc. (work arounds_) i know where this leads.. lol. its HELL!
so having stock P990 rooted is pretty much sufice to do all the major "should i say" hax.. modern... 4.0 is still bad?

Easiest way to test, install Titanium Backup, which you will need to backup your apps anyway for when you start flashing custom ROM's
One very good reason to flash a custom ROM, I think you only get gtalk with video on android 2.3.7, so that for me is a very good reason not to stay on stock, apart from the better performance, smoothness, battery life, etc!
im on 2.3.4 just got the fone. dont care about whats on it. wont bother backing up.
unless i need to backup the firmware right?
ill get superuser. thanks
If you've really just got the phone then I wouldn't recommend doing any warranty voiding activities.
If you search around this forum you will find a testimonial from an user that got a faulty equipment, sent the phone once for repair, checked the IMEI and it was still the same phone, se he sent the phone again and the second time around he got a different phone (different IMEI) and the phone was perfect.
So why not taking the time to make sure everything is working properly? (GPS, Wi-Fi, radio, etc...)
Titanium Backup is still a good app to check if you have root though, even if you don't want to backup anything.
Or get the app ROM Manager, to install CMW (ClockWorkRecovery), for flashing customs ROMs..

btw.
so android 4.0 is not ICS yet? and thats why the vid recording etc is not working properly or is that just certain 4.0's that ppl have made?

Android 4 IS ICS.. But Nvidia haven't released the Tegra2 drivers yet, and will probably don't do it before LG release a official ICS to the phone..

oh i get you now. makes sense. not signed drivers. so the other dependant software/hardware wont operate its like um. that on motorola codegroups also. some of them had the no cert codegroups mixed and the flex/flash/seem edits you had issues with some russian firmwares that had the codegroups of other fw's that had NO RSA. so you couldnt use certain drms and installs (native intergrated mods) and (additional mods like itunes etc) into the fone because of RSA.
so it was up to the communities to find RSA removed codegroups and compile fw's from them.
is it similar to this?
Don't know
But cm9 works for daily use, for me

[Q] Softkeys are mixed up

I have been running a older Miui for quite some time, last night I finally decided to upgrade to .35 and try out ics and mokee. On both roms all of my soft keys are mixed up, My back button brings up the menu, the menu button is home, and the home button is back. The only key that is right is search.
Can anyone help me fix this?
Also on another note, I am noticing that all the roms I am trying on .35 are running decently warm, is this just how the .35 roms are or is this a problem on my end?
Thanks for all help in advance

What device are you using?
About overheating,,check your CPU clock and if you know dude,,,some ROM have different tweak,,and overheating main problem is on Signal,,especially in HSDPA / 3G
Check your data too,,maybe you activating instant upload/heavy syncronization i.e. contact restore/sync contact/etc
As prof.TJ_Style said(main developer kernel 2.6.35.7)kernel .35 still far from stable,,but the other developer was made it better than before
Edit : wrong touchkey because different device,,touchkey on mokee, joy os,and most ICS ROM specally for Spice-Mi410
But dont worry,,sergekarol was fix it,,please check on few thread,he has been posted it,,or maybe you can PM sergekarol for ask about touchkey patch
Sent from my Spice Mi-410 using Tapatalk 2
I was able to find the soft key patch which worked perfectly.
As for the heating, First my phone is the Ascend X 4g from Cincinnati Bell. On my old Miui rom I was running at 1520mhz, This one I am staying at 1024 just to be safe. I know that my data signal is part of it but it just feels like it runs hotter then the old miui. Though the new rom I am using does have alot more features and runs a ton smoother and faster even with my cpu lower.
To add: I am using the Ice Cold Sandwich rom from here.
My question is this what is a "start to worry" temp for this phone, It seems to want to hover around 33 to 35.5C sometimes maybe a tiny bit higher, These temps are only when using the phone, if I have the screen off it stays cold.
Thanks

About overheating,,my device temps also hover arround 32-40 with heavy usage,,I feel it since I have this device mate,,I have been using old MIUI too(MIUI 1.11.11 by TJ_Style)for 3months and temps also around 30-40C
Ascend X 4G??Huawei Ascend X 4G?honestly I dont know if Huawei Ascend also Rebranding device FOXCONN FIH-FB0
Did you mean your device is Huawei Ideos X6??

I think you misread my post, The softkey patch worked first try. I was able to find it in the ice cold thread.
Good to hear the temp isnt anything to really worry about, I guess I just got used to the old Miui.
The ascend x is the american version of the X6 from what I understand

Oohh so sorry hahaha my bad,,just feel sleepy when reply your post,,
Thats great if patch works on you
You mean Old MIUI is MIUI 1.11.11 right?
Yes,,old MIUI given by prof TJ has stable,,but,,he take too much partition system RAM,because he want to make it stable
If I not wrong,,total RAM(has been partitioning) 298MB on old MIUI
Other ROMs have 340-358MB RAM
Because of that,,old MIUI stable with OC at 1536mhz max
Dont worry about your phone temp
On guide device book also written "max temp out until 47Celcius"
Just remeber this,if you feel phone overheating,,just check your data access usage, then CPU clock, last check your background/foreground service too
Sorry for my bad english
Sent from my Spice Mi-410 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah that was the miui I was using. I didn't know about the ram partitions on that rom being larger either. That explains a few things.
Thanks for the temp info to. Its nice to have a number to look out for.
By the way your English was just fine
Thanks again for the help

Wait for GalaxyICS team build.
In Ace section you will found Camera working for Ace, GalaxyICS team working source for our device to.
so wait it on Galaxy ICS site news.
There is a discussion thread about it , why to create a new thread again ?
Cheers
Camcoder and HW acceleration in that ROM will never work because qualcomm hasn't released the OpenMAX codecs... even if they manage to make it all working anyway, i'm not going to use that hacked and unstable rom - and probably very little group of people will use it. CM7.2 is just fine, why the hell someone wants ICS so badly, I haven't found a single advantage over Gingerbread except saying android 4.0 in about menu...
Go flash CM7 or any other GB rom and enjoy, stop waiting for something that you will never be satisfied with.
Okk.. thanx for your replies guys..
N yes CM7 is still gud but i have tried CM9 built 7 n its very smooth n stable.. only cam isn't working.. anyways.. thnx agn.. )

Agreed, CM9 stable and smooth, the only bug for me is camera, But CM7 has many many bugs ..
BTW, If you want to fix lockcreen and usb layouts go there:

Best Regards
It all depends on opinions, layout of ics is better than GB or cm7 so that attracts people towards ics. I'd definitely use it if they manage to get camera working.

You are the one that has bugs in his mind, obviously. CM9 stable? CM7 buggy? Who are trying to screw here mate? ONLY bug that CM7 has for our device is camera orientation - but fix for that exist, although i'm not using it - because the bug is easy to understand. If you start the camera app while holding your phone in landscape mode, orientation if fine. If you start it in portrait mode, then it rotates for 90* - you can rotate it back to where it should be in just one tap on the screen.
CM9? LDPI UI optimisations suck big time, lacks RAM, needs swap to operate normally on our phone -> LAGS, heavy duty apps tend to crash, the rom itself is bigger than CM7 -> less internal memory left -> sd-ext a must -> more LAG! Not to mention camera... there is some other tiny stuff that bug me, but theese are the major ones.
Gotta screw arround to make V6 SuperCharger working right, no hassle on Gingerbread. Half of apps need to be designed for ICS, GB apps tend to have bugs too, so more and more fails i don't even want to touch on. Does it still have problems when i try another lockscreen style other than default? Accept button on caller reciever screen showing the half only... i just don't have strenght to go on.
Was locking up on my phone pretty frequently, so i returned back. And you know what - with a little bit of time, you can make your Mini run like a completely different phone - i deleted like 20 apps that come stock with official CM7.2 - system is much more responsive and i keep all my apps in internal memory - don't even have sd-ext and swap partitions on my SD card (that would slow up my system since i have class 4 sd card, but it will acctualy slow the system down no matter what card i am using). Slammed V6 SuperCharger script on it - flies!. And, to add the cherry to the cake - i've set cpu governor to ondemand and lowest frequency to 122MHz - happy battery! Don't need to worry if my deepsleep works or not...
Sorry, I just had to write this post, somebody would think CM9 in this stage acttualy is better than CM7.2. I am not saying it can't get better, but you really got to understand that there are no ICS libs drivers for our device, and hacking Gingerbread ones won't make us go anywhere - its like putting a Yugo 45hp engine in a Bugatti... i mean cmon, its better to tune that crappy engine a little bit, dump out the back seats, lighten the body, than to put the engine in the heavy Bugatti. Hope you understood this anology, it really explains the situation about ICS for our device. (yes we have Adreno 200 GPU drivers, but transmission does not make the whole car )
Maybe i'll open somebody's eyes, maybe somebody will hate me, or somebody will find himself insulted - i don't give a damn, the situation is the way it is - there is no way arround it.
Cheers!

GalaxyICS haven't tass yet, so they cannot fix layouts for LDPI devices.
Best Regards
I'm glad you're open for chill disscusion - haven't saw that kind of person for a long time . Hats off!
Community patches... are they awesome and helpfull - yes for sure! But think of filling your SDcard with like 10 patches that you need to flash after flashing the ROM, and the incompatibility that might occur between them - that's not something i want to think of on my "daily drive" phone .
Yeah, they don't have our device and thats really unfortunate - but they will get it fixed. Untill then... again, tiny and undetailed ('cause of ldpi, not nececarily the rom - ICS really wasn't designed with LDPI in mind - but increasing the size WILL help!) icons in the notification bar, and some other stuff is not something that gets me to flash their rom, although i did it, just to see how far they came with developing some other stuff.
For not having the device, GalaxyICS team is doing a really great job IMO, kudos to devs!
I'm somewhat of a person who wants perfection, but this is far from stable, again, in my oppinion. If you can use it - go for it, but i think people are flashing custom ROMs to make their device better in all areas, not just the looks or the performance, which in CM9 roms are both mediocre. Our device is crap, and the moment I (and you, at some point) understood that it's outdated POS, i realised that i can't get much better than this.
Guys, people are begging for CM7 on Galaxy Young - and you were (probably) doing that too. Now we want CM9, and this trolling and spamming arround the forum just discourages the devs and they will eventually leave and get another device for which they will develop roms. Think about it - they are not diretcly paid for their hard work - they pull out some money through ads and such things. Some of them don't get a single penny!
I've written something i did not want to, but hey, i'm not in the mood to retype all this in another shape and form - just fine like it is now.
If you wait patiently (for the OP, and for the rest that are waiting), try out some other roms and tweaks, time will fly faster and you will probably learn some other things along the way!
I've tried some custom ROMs, I've read some reviews from the users of those ROMs. I wonder, why some people gets some bugs, and the others not getting that bugs?
Some people said that 'this ROM is very bad, everything force closes, laggy, blah blah blah. I've wipe data and cache but it's still...' but the others said 'this is the best ROM, no major bugs mentioned so far.'
What do you think makes this things happening?
How i see it is that user try out the ROM for 5-10 mins and don't run into problems and report thigs like this - that everything runs fine.
You should use it for quie a bit to try out every single par of it - maybe you won't recieve a call in that short period, but if you use it for a couple days, you sure will, and then you will notice the call accept button bug for example in CM9.
Also, not every person takes the bug the same way - somebody doesn't mind the call accept button bug, so they don't report it - you can accept the call but... yeah, its a unexplainable bug
This is just an example, many things go on like this. Also for the camera orientation bug in CM7.2 - i was always starting the camera in the orentation that doesn't cause the bug. Never tried to start it when rotating the phone, so i wasn't noticing the bug. Somebody is different than me, he starts the camera with his phone rotated - and poof, there you have the bug every time.
well i have tried almost all roms that have been released for at least a week before posting any review according to my experience even cm7 has a long way to go in terms of stability and performance. what actually happens is that we all keep tryin roms and roms but forget what a rom is made for. choice differs from person to person if i were asked to choose gb ics and jellybean on our mini then i would anytime go with gb. like if you like looks then miui stability stock or stock based customization cm based and so on and so forth.bugs are not in roms but in our mentality a dev works hard day and night just to see the smile on our faces which even he cant see so please dont spam and discourage any dev who knows if all our devs got together they might make a completely new os for our mini. all the devs i am with you and will always be with you.

PKP-Rhinstone & other things

HEY GUYS
SOME OF YOU MAY KNOW ME
BUT IN CASE YOU DONT
hi der
ive changed the thread title and stuff because im gonna be posting more than just my kernels here from now on,including test dtb's,test hboots and other things, also making it into sorta a "diary" when i work on things, including post code snippets for when i work with some of the other devs on projects.
working on using kexec to load a custom dtb. i have modified tasssadars kexec tools to support a11. need someone with the know-how to compile it. https://github.com/pattyboi/kexec-tools
working on porting caf 3.10. those interested can find my repo here: https://github.com/pattyboi/3.10-a11/
gonna need help with it. if you know what your doing, hit me up.
Rhinstone features: new thermal (franciscofranco's)
new hotplug (decimalmans autohotplug)
soundcard control, aka boosting and such (zeroblade1984s tamod sound control driver)
bfq io scheduler optimized for emmc/nand storage (khaon)
optimized interactive governor thanks to many people
optimized simpleondemand gpu governor thanks to blechdose
most motorola kernel optimizations
most DKP kernel optimzations (including overlocking the i2c driver subsystem) ((decimal mans gs3 kernel, highly suggested if you have the device))
compiled with the latest sabermod arm 5.1 toolchain with graphite gcc options and tuned for cortex a7
memcpy combined from motorola and hglm's patches (https://github.com/hglm/test-arm-kernel-memcpy/)
removed A LOT of debug, including most htc debug and sensor self tests or useless functions
adreno idler (arter97)
uksm with all of the dkp optimizations
some upstream linux kernel updates to misc parts of the kernel
cache & neon updates (xboxfanj)
built in fast charge (alim.p)
con kalivas linux tweaks
many other misc code optimizations that would clutter the op,the kernel is fast in my opinion, and battery life is much better than standard kernel,i will be reimplementing f2fs and exfat soon..kernel was rebased and forget to pull them in
BIG THANKS TO: everyone. especially those inside my thread who have kept people from getting confused while using the kernel and also @protectivedad who created the flashable wifi zip. also a huge shout to the android community and all the devs i havent thank in the other part of this post
IVE ONLY TESTED ON MY CRICKET MODEL.
DO NOT FLASH IMMEDIATLY,"fastboot boot "release-date".img",if all goes well and you have no issues then run "fastboot flash boot "release-date"img" to permanetly flash it,THEN YOU NEED TO FLASH THE WIFI ZIP,just flash it through twrp, thx to @

so,as everyone knows, this phone is FAR from a perfomance monster ATM...(big things are coming)
and everyone knows cm has the camera issue, which is keeping alot of people back from using it
so for everyone on stock, heres my kernel,rhinstone...(yes,spelled wrong,i like it that way)
ive tried merging in things that would specifically help make the phone more EFFICENT,NOT BALLS TO THE WALL 420 CRAZY NO SCOPE PERFORMANCE.
its got intelliplug,new thermal,removed B.S., blah blah
but being real, this should drastically increase your phones performance, ive worked hard on setting this up,and while keeping everything working and stable (so far)
so enjoy! the changlog is my github source, ill post here every once and awhile too just to ease the explaining

Is write protection removed?
Good to go for Boost users, so Virgin should have no problems either. Flashed on my Boost with no issues. Both cameras work. Write protection is removed. Only problem is that the default camera app will not save pictures, so use a third party app like Camera Zoom FX or something. Videos still do not save, so dont bother with those. Its a strange issue with the other kernels and nobody knows why.
Explanation: because HTC...
When can we expect governors? And if I here one more thing about DBT I swear I'll punch a kitten
Ummm...now when you say "more efficient"...
I don't think you know what that word means
I'm not trying to insult your intelligence or anything, the intelliplug certainly seems to be doing its job while watching the CPUs with 3c Toolbox. And I know Quadrant scores only tell PART of the story. But you said this kernel should "drastically increase performance". Taking a look at the CPU score alone compared to stock (even CM!) is unconvincing
I got 2971.
OK...found the koolness, Quadrant scores forgiven (for now)
In 3c Toolbox there are now GAMMA and SPEAKER settings. Yus plx!
BTW, probably should mention that in the OP

If you mean will it allow you to use foldermount to mimic obb files on internal SD card...simple answer:
F**K YES!
WELP
Cameras work, system protection is gone, and overall very happy! (Just switched back to stock from CM11)
Installed Link2SD with an EXT3 partition on my SD card not that it's being used.
Mainly using Link2SD just to install apps as system apps which clears up a TON of space (why does this phone have almost 2 gigs free in system partition!!??
Also integrating updates into system apps.
Thanks for the kernel!

I see possibilities here. Before, we couldn't use a custom kernel without borking our cameras. Is there a way to get pattyboi on with rbheromaxx, shinru and yourself in getting a fully working cm kernel with working cameras. I have a github account but i haven't the foggiest on how to build from scratch. I will try to help as much i can and together maybe we can submit it cyanogen and have them take over and start getting nightlies!

Good to hear! I'm sure things will start kicking off now!
i dont run benchmarks tbh so idk what the deal is with the scores, not to sound rude but "i dont care" i just judge off how my device feels to me personally obviously ;P and to me it feels snappier and all those other buzz words :silly: but i will download quadrant and do some runs for the next couple of things im gonna try
oh and btw, shoutout to shinru and rbhero, they are the ones that got write protection off,i just cherry-picked the commits :d
and for governors,i really dunno, what would you guys like me to add?
oh,for next release im probably gonna try a new saber toolchain, long as it dont break anything
and finally, for anyone wondering im in a skype chat with rbhero shinru and kalisto,im not a magician so the big stuff tbh has kinda been on shinru, kalisto and rbhero, but i will be trying to help out with anything they do

No problem dude, not rude. I completely understand. Like I said Quadrants don't tell the whole story. It IS smooth. How much smoother than stock? Can't really tell from the surface honestly. Otherwise it performs just as well as stock.
Its main feature that's excited me is finally being able to emulate files from my external to internal storage with foldermount. I'm a hardcore 1337pr0 gamer junkie and was disappointed I wasn't able to before, so props bro! I'll definitely be running the paces on this thing finally. rbheromax can atest that I know how to beat a phone into submission

I have already forked the source and started using it as a base. Progress can be tracked under branch cm-12.0
https://github.com/rbheromax/Rhinstone-a11/commits/cm-12.0
@pattiboi I added prima to my kernel tree fork. i think you may need that later down the road
config options being:
Code:
#
# Qualcomm Atheros Prima WLAN module
#
# CONFIG_PRIMA_WLAN is not set
CONFIG_PRONTO_WLAN=y
# CONFIG_PRIMA_WLAN_BTAMP is not set
CONFIG_HTC_WIFI_NVS=y
CONFIG_PRIMA_WLAN_LFR=y
# CONFIG_PRIMA_WLAN_OKC is not set
# CONFIG_PRIMA_WLAN_11AC_HIGH_TP is not set
# CONFIG_WLAN_FEATURE_11W is not set
# CONFIG_QCOM_VOWIFI_11R is not set
stray from that (specifically LFR), it'll fail to build
