2. flash the Rom
3. reboob
If coming from previous Asylum OMNI and you'd like a clean flash:
1. boot into recovery
2. do a full wife
3. flash the Rom
4. reboob
If coming from any other ROM:
1. Copy Gapps and Asylum OMNI Zips to your internal SDCard
2. Boot into Recovery
3. Do a full wife (fromat data, system preload & cache isthe best)
3. Flash Asylum OMNI zip from internal SDCard
4. Flash Gapps zip from internal SDCard
7. Reboob
8. Don't restore system stuff or apps + data using Titanium, it might cause issues
When you have Root Problems flash the SuperSU.zip

im one of them, i also have the worst download speed ever and an unreliable connection
i however, don't have an issue downloading a 200mb rom, which compared to touchwiz roms is miniscule
Battery usage is subjective...do you really believe everyone has their phone set up the same as you?
Honestly, flash the rom and see for yourself

For those uninitiated, Asylum CM10 is a slim, debloated and fast CM10 based Rom. It had its two previous iterations:
the first one (ICS and JB) done by Anti, the second one (JB) by Jack the Ripper. Sadly, both of them petered out for
one reason or another. Asylum CM really grew on me, so I just had to ask Anti for permission to resurrect my first
love, and he said yes.
Sreenshots:
What does Asylum CM10 has to offer?
Unnecessary apps are chucked out, thus reducing the Rom size to 119 Mb only.
Everything is blacked out, no official CM10 grey.
Superuser is replaced by SuperSU.
Safe CM10 kernel and recovery with eMMC_CAP_ERASE disabled.
Performance tweaks
UI tweaks
Ad blocking hosts
Default DPI set to 240
Good battery life
Speed and smoothness
CM10 theming compatibility
No multi-widows, sadly
How often will the Rom be updated?
There'll be a new version as soon as there is at least 6-7 CM10 new merges, or if there's only one crucial change.
It could be daily, or every few days.
How do I flash it?
You must be on a safe kernel and recovery. If you are not sure, check this thread out to see which ones are safe!
If coming from previous Asylum Phoenix version:
1. boot into recovery
2. wipe cache and dalvik
3. flash the Rom
4. reboob
There's no need to reflash Gapps.
If coming from any other safe kernel except Philz:
1. reboob to recovery
2. do a full wipe, including your posterior
3. flash the Rom
4. flash Gapps
5. reboob
If coming from a Rom containing PhilZ kernel:
1. flash a CM10 kernel
2. stay in CWMR, go to advanced/reboot recovery
3. factory reset, wipe dalvik
3. flash the Rom
4. flash Gapps
5. reboob

Removed apps. You have to extract those you need, paste or push them to /system/app,
fix permissions so they are the same as the other apps in the folder and reboob. It is NOT a flashable zip.

Congratulations, my friend. As I said earlier, no better hands could get the Asylum for resurrection :good::highfive:
And, damn, how I wish I could test it
Writing just now from this Room, after restoring some essential apps. Very lightweight indeed. Especially when coming from a TW ROM. Had some FC of Google Text to speech at the initial language selection screen.
I love the boot animation
A note to all coming from LSA TW leak, and trying to flash from PhilZ latest kernel: If you get error 7, try a different kernel to flash this ROM. Latest LRT worked fine for me.
Cheers, Markus
Edit: Battery is great  And WIFI is strong as King Kong

When I tried the latest CM10 build I loved the speed but there was no 1080p playback and the alarm clock kept quitting on me ...
Is this rom free of those issues? And can I just change back to 320 dpi through the build.prop?

1080 playback is OK for me using MX Player and Gallery both. And yes, you can edit build.prop either manually or through Rom Toolbox to switch to 320 DPI. Don't use any other DPI modifying app, it will land you in a bootloop. Don't know about the alarm clock, this Rom is less than a day old.

How to update properly
Go in SuperSU and install the SuperSU backup script underneath Custom Rom.
Then, a backup script (99-supersu.sh) will be created and can be found in /system/add on.d
Same place, you will find 70-gapps.sh which backs up your Gapps package.
If both backup scripts are present, you'll only have to flash the Rom update.
If 99-supersu.sh isn't there, you'll have to flash SuperSU with every update or install the script like mentioned before.
Will install after work. Good job chasmodo. Mirror:

Welcome to HyperDroidAOXP (Android Open-Source Xtreme Project), a ROM developed for people who like to build up their own ROMs with a minimal, yet functional working base. Performance Features:
Sysctl enabled, auto zipalign for ALL apps, cron schedules enabled
Custom hosts file to block ads

Welcome to HyperDroidAOXP (Android Open-Source Xtreme Project), a ROM developed for people who like to build up their own ROMs with a minimal, yet functional working base. The Android Open-Source Xtreme Project is an Android Aftermarket Firmware project that is built off the latest AOSP source as customized by the SlimRom Team.
Highlights:
Built from source based on AOSP SlimRom and CyanogenMod 10.1
Major Features from AOSP based SlimROM.
Some features from CM and AOKP are also included.
ROM Built using the stable Google Toolchain
Stweaks, EasyUMS and Superuser built-in with a Settings entry
OTA powered by goo.im
3rd party Apps that I find as essential are included (these are the ones I install after every fresh flash and are installed in data/app so you can easily uninstall them) e.g. Titanium Backup, Google Keep and Flipboard
Gapps by SlimRom built-in (including Google Now and Face Unlock)
Performance Features:
Sysctl enabled, auto zipalign for ALL apps, cron schedules enabled
Custom hosts file to block ads
Sysctl tweaks included for performance
Look, Feel, Fit & Finish:
Hybrid theme for the most professional look: Thanks to all 3 people!
Some Lucid PNG's by sonnysekhon
Black Exodus by Nitroz
AlloyWhite theme by xIC-MACIx
Themed Fastest Customizable Launcher (Apex Launcher)
Known issues (same as CM 10.1 and most AOSP based Firmware)
How to Install (If coming from another ROM):
Full Wipe
Download Latest Version
Gapps Inverted
Flash
Test and Enjoy!

Looks and Sounds Interesting. Couple of things. Light color font in OP is eye killer, please change if its ok. You have mentioned Gapps by SlimRom built-in (including Google Now and Face Unlock) you have also given link for gaps? So need to flash gapps or not
Screenshot looks interesting.

Yes and it is safe to flash. No leeches will eat your phone
It reminds me of slim bean's kernel, as it comes with CWMR touch version.
just flashed this rom but i thought the icons shown in the screenshot were built in ^^
does someone know, how the icon theme is called? it fits quite good to this rom
Edit:
clicking on manage app-> running ends with fc

No problems here.

it seems like it´s a translation problem..
changing the language to english, it runs well.
setting the language to german however, it gives a fc *
it´s not a big deal

FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK
THE DEV TEAM IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE YOU CAUSE TO YOUR PHONE
** Please be aware some builds may not work, and be patient with the Vanir team as they continue to sort stuff out **
DIRECTIONS
Boot to Recovery
BACKUP
Wipe System/Data/Davlik/Cache
Install Rom
Install Gapps
Wipe Davlik/Cache
Profit!
°°For those flashing custom kernels°°
Be aware- Vanir includes a script that enables their own kernel tweaks. This script does not play well with flashing custom kernels. The solution!
Flash ROM
Navigate to- /system/etc/init.d/
Delete the file- 00kernelcompat
Reboot to recovery
Flash kernel
Profit!
You can also open the ROM zip on your PC before flashing and remove the file from the same directory then flash the ROM and you're good to flash the kernel.
**If you dirty flash between nighties, DO NOT wipe system or data before flashing the ROM. It will wipe gapps and the ROM install script won't be able to restore them**
That said, a clean flash is always recommended

Try this out everybody. It is super smooth and stable, plus it has a built in updater for the nightlies. I've tried them all and so far, I really like this one. Choose the nightly build and of course, jfltespr.

I was thinking the same thing, so I tried erasing the 'vzw' from the vinir link and replaced it to 'spr' & it worked...
