Unlocked Sprint HTC One on AT&T - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I see this question asked a few times within other treads but wasn't ever really answered clearly in my situation. I have successfully network unlocked my Sprint HTC One. When I put the sim in I get no errors and dialing 4636 brings me to the menu where I can change to wcmda preferred..gsm only... etc.. The phone reads the phone number off the sim and lists it on this page as well. Heres my issue I have verified that phone will cover the same bands where I am so that should not be an issue. I can not get a signal with this phone with 2 different sims. I made sure I did all the obvious things with the settings, the APN's, flashed different radios, and tried different options is the 4636 menu. Ive used different roms as well...When I go to select or search for my network both options are grayed out.... I can connect to Verizon and I can connect to sprint towers but no Dice on ATT. I am currently on version 4.1.2 and have tried all available radios. Has anyone had success in the new York New Jersrey PA area with using this phone on ATT. If so what is the setup you are using.

The Sprint HTC one has blocked the carrier id's for domestic use aka att. You can however if your s-off you can flash the initial release radio the first radio when the Sprint HTC was released and it will allow you to connect to domestic carriers.
I'm in Ohio so not too far from you and I can pick up T-Mobile and att using the initial release radio, it is the only radio I could get to pick up signal.
Here is the first radio released http://d-h.st/HHD

Im currently s-off and flashed that radios. When I select network connection the two options are still grayed out. Could the rom choice make any difference ?

I am having the same issue with my Sprint HTC One. I've tried everything mentioned above and no one has answered. Are you guys still having this issue? And if not what did you do to fix it. I have a Sprint HTC One with S-Off, Unlocked Bootloader, the Radio that is listed here and the latest ViperOne 5.7.0 ROM. Thanks!
EDIT: My phone is unlocked and I have been using T-Mobile for the past month just fine, and want to try AT&T.

I have figured out a way to make AT&T work with the phone. When you place a Sprint or Verizon sim into the phone, it will immediately unlock the network search options that are normally greyed out. I click automatic select and immediately remove the sim and replace it with my AT&T one. Even though the phone complains that the sim was removed, I can click ok, then quickly push the automatic select again before it greys out. I then wait a minute or so until it fails to find a network. I then quickly click the network search option. The notable thing at this point is the only network that shows up is MARITIME. if I click on that, it registers me to AT&T. I have tested the phone and it works great. But it seems to bump me off the network at some point. I dont know if its poor reception or the ROM itself doing it. And if I restart the phone, I lose it as well. So I have to repeat the steps again to get back on AT&T. But the thing to know here is that the phone will work with domestic carriers with no problem. Its a matter of locking to AT&T and staying there. Surely one of the brilliant brains on these forums can figure out how to keep it working. I basically stumbled onto this by playing around with it.

Good job finding that. When it kicks you off of AT&T's network it did that to me when I had T-Mobile as well, so it's not just AT&T. Glad you were able to get AT&T to work on your phone tho, kudos.

gophone sim does not prompt sim unlock code

I have a weird issue, and was hoping that maybe someone could shed some light on what I am seeing.
I just got a used G1 on ebay, which I want to unlock. When I put an ATT GoPhone sim in and boot the phone, I am not prompted for a sim unlock code. It is not unlocked, I know the this as I do not connect to the ATT network at all and cannot modify any of the APN settings on the phone. I know that I need the prompt for sim unlock to actually unlock the phone. Fortunately, I just found an old international sim laying around and that one seems to trip the prompt for the sim unlock. My questions - why does the GoPhone sim not cause the phone to prompt me for an unlock code?
Thanks for your time.
Hmmm that is a good one. I used a normal att sim and it asked for the code, is it a older sim? Maybe one from the cingular days? To weird man.
the gophone sim is a new sim, just purchased and activated. I know the sim is okay, because I can use fine in another phone.
I have an unlock code on order. Hopefully, using my other sim to trigger the code request, I will be able to do the unlock. Hopefully, then, the gophone sim will work fine. I hope to post positive results back later.
thanks
Yea you can unlock it with any sim and switch to another and it will work. I know a few people on here use att gophone sims so you should be fine.
so I was able to sim-unlock the phone using a different sim.
I still have a real problem though - when I put the gophone sim in, I still find myself unable to connect. I even go to settings>wireless controls>Mobile Networks>Network operators and try to manually select at&t. When I do, it says "registering on at&t" for a while and then says "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network". Again, I know this sim works - I have been using it in another phone.
What do you think I am doing wrong?
Thanks
It sounds like something is ****ed up with the sim, even though it works for the other phone. Do you have any friends with att sims? Something really sounds off here and if it isn't sim related then I don't know what it could be.
will try to find someone with an AT&T sim, but I don't know what the deal is. I even tried an international sim (that should roam on t-mobile here), but I could not get that to connect. I have tried putting in a tmboile sim and that seems to be the only thing I can to talk to a network
As a side note, no APNs show under settings>wireless controls>Mobile Networks>Network>Access point names when I put non-tmobile sims in. When I add one, it still does not show up on the list.

There is a thread for ALL APN's in one of these dream forums. try that one, make sure you save the APN when you enter it to, dont just hit home or whatever.

Wifi Calling Error

I have a att one that I unlocked and changed into a GPE wifi proper cid. The phone is also unlocked and I am using T-Mobile with a T-Mobile SIM card as well.
I want to use wifi Calling since my since at work is not very good.
Do I need to change the phone to a tmobile cid and mid? Or can should i be able to just install a wifi enabled rom?
I have tried to roms and get error REG90 so far.
Thank you!
I don't think ATT supports wifi calling yet on android, so it won't work. There is rumor that they will get wifi calling support for iOS in 2015, but nothing about android that I've seen yet. It needs to be supported by both the ROM and the Carrier.
AFAIK, T-Mobile is the only carrier that supports wifi calling.

I would suppose the sure way would be to turn your AT&T phone into a T-Mobile one with the correct CID & MID, then you could download the T-Mobile RUU and you will have Wi-Fi calling. You could try this first, there is a chap in the T-Mobile Development Forum that has Wi-Fi calling enabled for ARHD 81.0 as a add-on. Check it out, it might be time well spent.

Thanks for the advice, I went ahead and changed the CID & MID to T-Mobile as well as use the T-Mobile RUU. I still was getting REG90 Cannot Connect error, it's strange because I have the router that T-Mobile gives and my previous phone it worked.
Ah well thank you both for the tips, guess I'll stick with GPE

Have you tried to contact T-Mobile Support on this error, since you are on their network with their sim card it may be their issue. I just was searching for ERR REG90 on Google and some of the responses from T-Mobile Support is to send an update to your sim card. For example: http://support.t-mobile.com/message/396397. I would call them or start a new thread that they will answer, i've noticed that they will close a thread after 36 hours if no response from the originator of the thread. Good luck.

I'll give them a call today. If still no go I'll probably just stop [emoji1]
Yea customer rep said the line needed the feature added. Said she added it and still no go. Might go to a store but I've been ok without it even at work with 1 bar of signal.
Got a hold of Tech Support. He asked if it was a T-Mobile phone I said it's an unlocked ATT phone and he said that's why. Doesn't matter that I changed the CID, MID & installed T-Mobile RUU, he said in the system it showed it wasn't a T-Mobile device.

N900A, T-Mobile ROM, and WiFi Calling/SMS...

Hello,
I just retired my venerable Samsung T699 Relay 4G (RIP QWERTY Keyboard) and, just picked up an unlocked, "refurbished" AT&T Note 3 for pretty cheap (it was sold as an "International" model, so I didn't know it was an AT&T version until I got it). I've had T-Mobile service for the last couple of years, and the big draw, for me, is WiFi calling/SMS; I've installed SafeStrap and been trying some T-Mobile ROMs, but can't seem to get WiFi calling to work. Obviously I've got a T-Mobile SIM card, and I've tried changing/adding APNs, and installing different builds of KitKat (some of which won't even boot - NB4 and NF9 seem to work best), but I still can't get it to work properly. I've been racking my brain and searching the Interspace for the last two weeks with no luck... what am I missing? Is it even possible?
Thanks in advance!
Hello,
As a fellow N900A user on Tmobile, I have been trying to get wifi calling as well.
I tried using a tmobile stock rom with wifi calling baked in (tweaked), but that did not work. I was told that I need to add an emergency 911 address, but even doing this did not do it.
I would think that wifi calling is doable, but something tells me that tmobile might be doing something similar to Verizon. Rumor was that Verizon had a list of IMEIs, and if your IMEI was not on their list, you couldn't bring the phone over to Verizon, even if it were CDMA capable (once again, this is rumor as I cannot confirm this is true).
The closest I have been to getting wifi calling through tmobile was having the settings show on the stock tmobile rom, but that was about it. Maybe someone in the forums has an answer/got it working, but I have yet to see one. I'll keep you posted if I somehow get it to work, but something tells me this won't happen for a while.

Yeah, considering I have zero service with any provider where I live (but 4G LTE 100 yards down the street), WiFi services were the single reason I went with T-Mobile. Considering the Unlocking Bill, one wouldn't think a carrier could block IMEIs from being used on another carrier... but I have a hard time reading the fine print, so there is that.
I've tried several of the stock T-Mobile ROMs, and while WiFi calling was there, it simply wouldn't enable; it would try to enable, but never would. Have you contacted T-Mobile and asked if there are any potential fixes? I'm considering doing that, but am worried that they'll say "Oh, that's your IMEI, looks like you can't use it on our network SORRYABOUTYOURLUCK!"
I have contacted tmobile about this before.
Their response was that they did not know why it did not work. They helped me set up the emergency 911 address, but they said when it comes to other hardware they couldn't give me a reason why it wouldn't work.
I remember dwetherill (sp?) mention that some n900a users were able to get wifi calling on their phones. I don't know if the modem can/will affect wifi calling, but at this point it's the easier thing to test.
I'm on the NJ5 modem - I might try testing out NC2.
Have you tried carl's TMB version of the norma stable rom? Check it out if you haven't. Wifi calling is supposed to connect automatically. I haven't seen it work yet, but I'll keep you posted if somehow I get it to work.

I'm on NC2, and haven't gotten anything to work as of yet... I've been looking for modem threads, but I guess I need to look a little harder. I'll search that ROM out and give it a shot, and let you know if it works with NC2. Thanks for the heads-up! :good:
So I tried NC2 modem, and it is not allowing for wifi calling.
I went to tmobile yesterday to get another line added. Rumor on the tmobile side is that AT&T is working to get wifi calling setup for the n900a's by around April. Take it as a rumor at this point, seeing how it came from tmobile, but the rep made a good point - AT&T tends to follow what tmobile is doing, so who knows.
Here's to hoping they're right.
BTW, I went to the note 4 tmobile forums, and I grabbed a deodexed stock rom. I noticed that there were a few files related to wifi calling (had WFC in the name). I tried playing around with it last night, and I managed to get the settings. It will even go so far as to turn the phone GSM radio off when you select wifi only. It's doing what Tweaked was doing for me (which was keeping the wifi calling option grayed out (enabling). I think I'm still missing a few files to get it to work, but I'll keep playing around with it later and let you know if I have any success.

I wonder how that would work regarding using a T-Mobile SIM in the AT&T phone, and if it could support cross-carrier features like that.
You're a braver soul than I, that's for sure. If I knew anything about what I was looking at/for, I'd be more than willing to help get this nut cracked... otherwise, I look forward to your findings!

Problem Registering with Network after flashing GPE ROM

Hi There,
I have been scratching my head for weeks now with no luck after searching hundreds of times for a solution and I hope I can find it here today. I purchased an Sprint HTC One M8 from Best Buy together with an unlock code. I received the phone in Africa and I was excited to try it out. However, when I put in my local carrier Sim Card I could not receive an unlock code request. I tried many fixes but I did not get anywhere.
After days of trying one fix after another, I decided to unlock the bootloader successfully, install a custom recovery (TWRP), I was also able to achieve S-OFF using sunshine's tool and write CID to 1111111. After that I tried different kinds of unlock methods like using config.dat and using the Sim Unlock Helper tool. But no luck.
I went ahead and flashed my device with the Sprint M8 GPE 5.0.1 ROM. I was successful and I noticed under settings - cellular networks I am able to see all network operators in my region. However, when I try registering with my carrier I get a "Sim Card can not connect to this network" message. I do not know why.
When I dial *#*#4636#*#* and access phone information, I selected GSM only in preferred network type. Under select network band there are only 4 options: Automatic, USA Band, Band mode 6 and Band mode 7. I selected Automatic.
I have literally tried everything I can think of as I am kind of new to this. I really hope someone can point me into the right direction in unlocking my device once and for all. I love the phone and I do not wish to sell it off. Please let me know if there is any more information that I can share. Thanks for your time!!
Hello,
Are you still having this problem?? Cause if you do I am really curious if you found a fix for it? I am experiencing the same problems. A friend of mine gave me this One M8 which has no owner anymore so i decided to fix it. I replaced the screen due to water damage and did bootloader and root succesful. I can also see my network providers but as soon as I try to register it also says "Sim card cannot connect to this network". Who has the ultimate fixxx???
Greetings,
Rob

M7 losing cellular connection frequently! What is going on?

Hi everyone,
This is a great site with a mass of info! I've used it before to flash my HTC Sensation a few years ago.
Since then, I've had a HTC One X and now a HTC One M7. Ok, the M7 is 'New' (from China). It's in excellent condition and it actually does appear to be new. So I don't really know what's going on there... But anyway, I'm having issues.
The phone can't seem to keep a cellular signal, but Wifi is absolutely fine.
So a bit about the history of the phone; When I got it, it was on Android 4.4.2 IIRC with super CID already done. I unlocked the bootloader and flashed LineageOS onto it - the latest one. The battery life was appalling and it wouldn't charge. The phone signal kept dropping.
I've reflashed it today with an RUU called "RUU_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_7.17.1540.51.exe" and battery life appears to have improved somewhat.
However, the cellular signal keep dropping. Now, I've contacted Virgin UK and explained the situation and they have said the Sim is faulty and it's old apparently and not 4g. They've since sent me a new 4g sim. I've put it in and activated it yesterday.
I still don't understand why my signal keep disappearing.
I've checked and verified the APN details - They seem correct - "Virgin Media Mobile Internet".
The problem appears to be something to do with "Network Mode" or "Network Operator". Sometimes I've noticed that if I go back into the settings and change the selection, sometimes it seems to see the connection again!
Right now, I've selected "2G/3G/4G auto" network mode with "Virgin 2G/3G" as the operator, but I think that soon, it will drop again!
Does any of this sound familiar to anyone here? Thanks, Antony...
Ok, I've just lost signal now, around 2hrs later... My phone has just been left in my house... I've been checking on it every so often.
If I go to "Network Operators" and choose Virgin, it magically works again!
I have full signal again, calls work and internet works. What the?!?!
It's still doing it.
Apparently, it's because I've got a 3G plan but using a 4G sim. Although, that is strange because even if I choose 2G/3G, it still drops.
Mehhhhh.

Can you post a "fastboot gervar all" output please? You have superCID, which means your phone is, or was s-off at one point in time. Maybe you need to flash a different RUU to get everything working

Hey, thanks for your reply!
Since that last post, I've flashed a UK ROM and it was still the same, in a way worse because it dumbed down some options in network settings. I've since flashed it back to the ROM mentioned above. I've now noticed that the problem is something to do with 3G/4G. If I change the network provider to 2G ONLY, the phone works perfectly with my Virgin SIM.
I desperately want to fix this. My new provider which I've switched to doesn't offer 2G, so I'll effectively be screwed.
Here is the data which you asked me to get!

You flashed US unlocked RUU, but that should work fine. You need x.xx.401.xx for WWE, but, as I said, US unlocked should work fine. I had a similar issue with an AOSP ROM, and I resolved it by manually entering my APN settings. Even though all APN settings looked fine, there were some small differences that caused issues. Not a great help, but you could try it, no harm. If thadoesn't work, it's most likely a hardware issue

Hmmm, ok, thanks. I've already messed about with APN details lots of times.
Ahh well. It seems that this phone is doomed. Maybe I'll just have to buy another.
I'll just give it one more go.
Thanks, Antony
