Kaiser WiFi coinnections problems

I have a WI-Fi router at home which works fine with my PC, a laptop and an iPod Touch but I am struggling with the Kaiser.
Now and then I can connect with the Kaiser (usually after a reset) but only once. When I try to connect again it just comes up as 'connecting' and nothing happens?
Using WPA encryption on a Zoom wireless router. Any ideas?
Please use only wep opened 64 bit encription, working perfect!
I can connect to my Netgear with my Kaiser using WPA just fine. This doesn't help you much - sorry - but the device itself does work on WPA.

I had the same problem with NetGear wireless router. I removed everything using only MAC address filtering. Connected but the speed is much slower, sometime even timeout compare to my Dell x50v PDA.
Everything also works fine here. I can connect through WPA2 EAP to my dlink AP, my zyxel router and some other AP.
I had exactly the same problem when I was using TKIP with WPA, but switching to AES solved it.
Thanks for the tips- will have a further play and see if I can solve it
WIFI problem solved
I had the same problem. First connection went fine (asking for security key). Next day no chance to connect. Allways saying connecting and nothing happened.
I played around a while and checked the AP where i could see that the Kaiser connected but didn't get an IP.
Swithcing from TKIP to AES didn't solve the problem for me.
First time i connected i typed the security key in ASCII and it worked. I tried this all the time again and what helped was to use the security key in hex!
I remebered that in Linux you type in the WPA key in ASCII and it is converted into hex. So i converted the string to hex value and .... it's working!

Remote Desktop Mobile

Hi guys,
I've searched LOADS of threads but to no avail.
I have installed RDM, but can't get it to connect. The PC is XP PRP, and my laptop connects ok (running Vista), but with the same settings on my MDA III, it refuses with the error:
"Cannot connect. Likely reasons are:
1. Specified computer name or ip does not exist
2. A network error occurred while establishing the connection."
I've checked all my settings, left DOMAIN blank, disabled firewall etc.
Router is a NetGear.
Thanks guys
Ratzz
Couple of questions... (excuse me if some of these come across quite basic)
Is your laptop that works within your internal network or from an external network?
To what IP address are you trying to connect to (ie. should NOT be an internal 192.168.x.x or 10.3.x.x address)?
Do you have port forwarding or a DMZ enabled on your router?
Are you assigned a static IP address from your provider?
sorry - bit more info...
how are you trying to connect - wifi? over the air?
if wifi, can you get a general data connection through the router?

HTH, thanks for the response.

excuse me if i'm asking silly questions which you may have already tried...
is remote desktop enambled under 'system properties - remote' on the xp machine?
have you tried connecting using the IP address (192.168.whaterver) of the XP machine as opposed to the PC name?
FANTASTIC!
Worked with the i.p. address
Thanks buddy!!!!
no problemo...
I am having the same problems, but I can get a little bit further, I believe connected, but error message,
"The system could not log you on. Make sure your log on and password are correct, etc. With the little magnifing window on the lower right, then is disconnects after a bit. I use the correct password and case that I use to succesfully connect from other computers. I am stumped.

No port forwarding, no can do. That router has to know which IP needs that port.

WiFi

Hey all, I'm running Liquid 1.5 ICS and all has been great for months and all of a sudden when at home I can't connect to my wifi. It finds it, acquiring IP, connects then disconnects. And repeats steps til it times out. Every other device still connects perfect to my network. I have manually gone through setup/password to no avail. I haven't installed any apps recently so that shouldn't be the issue....
Thanks in advance. Any help is greatly appreciated
Try setting up a static ip address manually in the settings, if that doesnt work type in "android obtaining ip address loop" In google and you can find a few other solutions.

Chromecast serup problem (discovered but not connecting)

I got a Chromecast yesterday. Still not able to connect. I am running setup on my Nook HD+ running CM10.1. I can't run setup on my laptop because it's wired and wifi is dead. Setup sees my Chromecast and I get "Now let's connect Chromecast2460 to your wireless network". I press setup and it searches. The 4 character code appears on the TV, then I get the error "Could not connect to your Chromecast".
Here are my router settings based on suggestions I've read.
Netgear WNDR3700v3
UPNP disabled
IPv6 enabled, auto config
IGMP disabled
Thanks,
Tim

Mine only started working once I'd turned AP Isolation off on my Netgear router. Then the install worked, network set up wise.
I do have a problem with my Toshiba 37X3030D TV - whatever I try to cast, I get a static blue screen. But that's another story!

After trying many things and wasting much time, I tried my Linux laptop and it WORKED! The Chromium page suggested I use a different device and I had to change wifi access manually to and from the Chromecast device. I'm sure my Windows laptop would have worked, Damn Toshiba. I dread sending it in so they can replace the wifi card under warranty.

Can't Access Internet, Cisco 1140 series

I've been trying to get my chromecast to work on my Cisco 1142 router with no avail. I have had my chromecast connected to multiple networks but I can't seem to get it to work with my 1142. I've tried everything I can find. I've tried the 'no ip igmp snooping' command, and confirmed that it's disabled. I've tried 'no dot11 igmp snooping-helper' also. My chromecast says that it can connect to the network, but has no internet access. I'm stuck on what it could possibly be, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your Chromecast isn't a very early serial number (starting 3929 or lower), is it?

Pls check the configuration of the AP and look for command "bridge-group port-protected".

I've found it with VLAN settings, but can't find it anywhere else. I've tried the telnet command "no bridge-group 1 port-protected" but I haven't been able to confirm if it stuck or not. I'm almost ready to just sell the Cisco router since it's worth some money and since I can't seem to get my chromecast to work with it
Well you do have a very intelligent router, and Chromecast is designed for dumb home routers.
