[Bug report] Nexus 4 wake up screen lag when streaming Bluetooth audio - General Omni Discussion

After awhile while streaming audio with the Pocket Casts app (probably happens with all audio apps but i only use Pocket casts) over Bluetooth there is a delay turning on the screen. When I press the power button the screen is black but the backlight is on. After a few seconds, sometimes up to 6-7 seconds, the lock screen image will appear and let me swipe to unlock my phone. Changing to no lock screen doesn't fix it.
Turning off Bluetooth or stopping the audio does not fix the problem once it occurs. Only solution seems to be a reboot (and maybe waiting an hour or more but not positive).
Nexus 4 with OmniROM ROM and kernel. Happens on both Dalvik and ART. Latest nightly Feb 9, 2014 and also noticed it in previous week of nightlies.
Update: This only occurs if I manually sleep the display with the power button. If I let the display timeout and go to sleep automatically then the screen turns on instantly like normal.

1) Bug reports belong on JIRA
2) Unless a developer can reproduce the issue, we can't do anything without a logcat and (in this case) kernel dmesg.

Sorry, I saw a few other bug report threads so I assumed they go here.
Can you tell me what JIRA is? I'll have to look up how to logcat and get a kernel dmesg.

Unresponsive touchscreen with FXP331 (CM11)

Hi all there
I have been having problems with the touchscreen becoming unresponsive after any blackout - intentional lock, screentimeout, wake from phone call.
It's a fresh install and apparently this is a common problem: code.google.com /p/freexperia/issues/detail?can=2&start=0&num=100&q=&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Priority%20Milestone%20Owner%20Summary&groupby=&sort=&id=2410
I solved it by flashing the lightning kernel from the development forum.
Hope it helps somebody.

It's because of double tap to wake which does not work on Xperia ZR disable it from display in options

I think there might be a buck in FXP331 which prevents disabling of DTW? I couldnt disable it anyway but its disabled by default with lightning. Have had no problems or bugs at all with this setup, that I've found yet.

Apparently I'm still having a problem with this, even though dt2w is disabled for me. It only happens after a call.
During a call, my screen goes black. Nothing I can do wakes it up.
If the other person hangs up first, the screen returns to normal.
If the other person does not hang up (e.g. answer phone, etc.) the screen remains black and I must remove the battery.
This is problematic for me. Is anyone else experiencing similar?
For now, perhaps there is a way to remap a key - for instance the shutter button - to hang up the call? Unfortunately the apk 'button remapper' (lifehacker.com /5705224/buttonremapper-reassigns-your-android-phones-buttons) did not seem to have any way to select that key. Does anyone have any other ideas or solutions?

The relevant keys are 568 (soft press to focus) and 766 (long press to take picture). 766 is already set to WAKE the screen, and I just set 568 to do the same. I'm guessing it won't work though.
Hopefully someone else has had this problem and knows a solution...

BUG: YouTube Lockscreen

Right now as I exited YouTube as I just finished a video, the lock screen is the thumbnail and won't go away. I know this is no major issue. Just wanted to make it public. I'll just restart my phone. Yes, it is not playing audio in the background.
Yeah I've had the same issue, over the last few weeks! It doesn't do it all the time, though.
This also happens to me. What ROM are you using? I had the bug on LS so I wonder if its a ROM issue or a lollipop bug.
Its a lollipop issue. Seems to happen on YouTube mostly. But I think others had the issue with other apps. Quickest fix is to open an app that uses a lock screen widget. I use PowerAmp and start a song, turn off the screen, turn screen back on, unlock and stop Power Amp. Lock screen is then back to normal.
It also happens with tune in radio. The lock screen shows the logo of the last station listened to until I reboot the phone.
Happens to me on stock hopefully a fix comes out soon

Notification sound cut off, now screen won't turn on

Since updating to marshmallow, my longer notification sounds, especially Calendar Snooze, are cut off.
I read somewhere about an app setting to allow it to turn the screen on as a fix. I did that but now I can't remember what app I made the change in or where I read that suggestion. I thought it might have been Light Flow, but I can't find it in there.
Now my power button fails to wake up the screen the majority of the time. Sometimes the lock screen will flash for a fraction of a second and go black again. Usually it takes 6-10 tries before the screen finally stays on so I can use my phone.
Since the wake up problem started when I tried to fix the notification sound, I'm pretty sure they're related. Any ideas?

if youre using lightflow id suggest wiping the data in it and resetting your notification settings. it does tend to override the system so i can see that screwing with the duration of the notification, and starting fresh usually solves most problems
i have mine set to wake the screen for SMS but not MMS. it creates similar problems with the screen
Thanks for the info. I tried just toggling the screen on settings on and back off for all of the Light Flow apps, and it seems to have fixed my screen turn on problem, at least for now.

I'm having the same notification sound cut short problem, I have a nexus 7 wifi 2013 model running Mohamed rom v2.1
Whenever anyone calls me on google hangouts, the ring only lasts for a second before its cut off, this doesn't happen if the front cover is open, it happens only when its closed.
I didn't have this problem on kitkat, but on MM this problem started from day 1.
I don't see any light flow option anywhere.
Any suggestions to fix this will be very appreciated.
Thanks.

LightFlow fixed my screen problems, but it was just a coincidence that I installed Marshmallow and my sounds got cut off around the same time. I'm still looking for a solution to that issue. Similar to you, if my screen is on, the notification sounds work correctly. If the screen is off, they get cut off.

Two new issues with my TP

Hi everyone.
I recently rebuilt a TP for my son running CM11 from jcsullins. Everything worked fine for a few weeks except two new issues have arised.
1] While charging in the touch stone the screen would now suddenly turn on. I would have to manually turn it off, but sometimes it would turn back on while docked.
2] The next morning after being charged over night the tablet will not wake up. It's a black screen, and I have to force a restart but holding the power and home button.
What tool can I used to identify the cause of my tablet constantly turnng on while in the touch stone? I'm not sure if it behaves the same with a regular charger because I have only used the touch stone.
Is there a tool that can tell me what app is causing my tabket to lock up over night?
These problems were never there before and they suddenly appeared over night when it functioned fine for weeks after I did the reinstall.
Thanks in advance for anyone that is able to help!
It may be the obvious but first check: Settings -> Display & Lights -> Wake on plug (off). Then: Is this a clean install or has "stuff" been added?
I also have been having an issue with my cm 12.1 tablet not waking up and/or draining completly. Not sure if this is related to the cm11 nov 2015 version and cm 12.1 Jan. 2016 versions or something else.
This seems like a "stay tuned" issue.
Thanks for the wake on plug. That seems to have fixed the first issue, I think. Although I did see it light up earlier when I docked the tablet but it seems to not light up for the most part since I changed that setting.
For the second issue, is there an app kind of like Event Viewer in Windows? Maybe that will help me isolate what's causing the tablet to lock up while charging over night?

I use Wake lock Detector, Startup Manager and Greenify. Not exactly what you are looking for but may give an idea.

Problem with screen off animation

I'm on the latest RR and the screen off animations don't work.
The screen turns off immediately and also the screen has started to turn off randomly and won't turn on unless I force restar the phone, I can press the volume button and see some lines of pixels being turned on but the whole screen doesn't turn off. I can unlock it with the fingerprint and feel the vibration as if the screen were working but it's still turned off.
What could be causing this and how could I fix it?
I just noticed this started happening today and can't remember making any changes to my phone that could cause this problem

Screen off animation is broken on the latest RR. Hence, you should use the default one and wait for the dev to fix the bug on the next build. It has already been reported to the dev on RR telegram group. Don't ask for the group link here on XDA. Search on Telegram app.
