need help transparent status bar for DDKQ8 rooted Rom - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Gurus!
I need help on making my status bar transparent. I'm using DDKQ8 Rom from Samfirmware and have rooted it.
I tried to decompile the systemui.apk using the APK multitool and edited the status_bar.xml by changing the background from android:background="#ff000000" to android:background="#00000000". After modifying it and compiling it again and push the systemui.apk to /system/app. I also changed permission and rebooted phone. The phone rebooted ok but the status bar becomes garbled and not able to see the status icons.
Any advise what went wrong? Is this rom DDKQ8 not able to support status_bar transparency? I have attached my systemui.apk. I hope somebody can help me out.

[Q] Editing services.jar when not deodexed

I'm trying to change the colour of all my status bar text. I'd like to do this on the stock 2.2 (FRG33) which isn't deodexed.
Is it possible to edit the services.odex file and then put then reodex it and put it back on the phone or do I just need to deodex it into services.jar then put services.jar back on the phone.
Also I'm having problems deodexing services.jar as it seems to have a ton of dependencies every time I find one odex it's dependant on another pops up.
All this just for white text in a black notification bar. It's a lot of hassle (but lots of fun too)
Edit: Update
Ok I've managed to deodex services.odex but now need to find a good list of the locations of all the notification text, anybody know any? Cheers.

Anyone know anything about framework-res.apk?

I am trying to change the status bar colour in framework-res.apk
I have changed the files but, when i put them on my phone it will not boot
So i tryed NinjaMorph.
It just gets stuck at Working, please wait...
The loading circle thing is going round but it doesn't appear to be doing anything
Any help:? Please?
First you have to deodex the rom . Both the /system/framework and /system/app .
If it is done then you will be able to edit the files needed to change look.
How to deodex them??

Request -- Transparent status bar?

Hey im looking for a transparent status bar for my desire hd running CM7
Ive tried to modify the files in the framework.res but when i reboot to accept changes the phone just bootloops at the CM splash screen.
so does anyone know of a "swap" framework file that will work or even a guide that works?
I was using the app ninjamorph to edit the .apk
Thanks
Making a transparent status bar is easy you just find the two files with the name status bar in the drawable-hdpi folder of either your theme or your framework-res.apk. The difficulty is you are better having an alpha transparency (semi transparent) staus bar or else when in some apps like Android Market the white backround will make it impossile to see you reception and other status bar icons.
The easiest option is to search for AuraxTSense Theme that has been ported to Desire HD. It has a transparent status bar (with just a small black line beneath it. I am currently working on removing the black line and also putting a nicer unlock bar. I'll post it in that thread once I'm done.
P.s. remember to use a app signing tool such as Stericsons Autosign after you modify a theme apk file. (Delete the .reg file from Stericssons Autosign and only use manual sign as if you let his tool change your registry you can't uninstall it and it makes every .zip file you double click not open with your unzip program but instead always sign with the annoying autosign tool.

[Q] How can I customize CM7 (2.3.2) framework-res.apk?

I was able to modify a bunch of png files on CM6.1.1 (2.2.1) via adb and all worked out. Now I'm trying to do the same after I updated to CM7 but was not able to do so. Here's what I did: In recovery-pulled framework-res.apk then replaced the files I customized in CM6.1.1. pushed the framework-res.apk and reboot. Once loaded nothing changed. I think I'm missing it somewhere?! Anyone know?
Did a search but I couldn't fine any info on this

Gingerbread added new Google sync to show your connected to them and the wifi and signal bars are now in an app called SystemUI.apk. Give that a try and if not working PM me and I'll help you!
Thanks for such a quick response! I'll look into it once I have some free time.
Btw what I want to do is modify the status bar icons (eg. battery stat, signal bar, H or 3G symbol etc.) just to clarify. Would all that be in the apk?

[SOLVED] How to mod action bar background

I've been looking into decompiled framework-res.apk , twframework-res.apk trying to change the default action bar background, but I had no success. Anyone have any clue? It would be really appreciated.
