Bug - Wifi not switching ON - N7100 - General Omni Discussion

Hi Guys,
I just upgraded to the latest Omni nightly and it seems that the Wifi doesn't seem to be switching ON.
The Omni ROM Version is "4.4.2-20140218-n7100-NIGHTLY"
Would be great if you guys could solve this in the next nightly or let me know of any solution available currently. It was working on the earlier nightly. =(
Regards,
T

I've found the root cause but not sure if I'll be home to push the fix before the next nightly comes out.
Also I want to give utkarsh a chance to figure out how to troubleshoot it on his own.

Wifi Hotspot not working on cm10 O2X

Hi!
Since I updated my p990 to Jelly Bean I have the wifi hotspot (nor the bluetooth, or usb) working... I've read there are many ppl who actually have similar problems in JB... Fox Fi says my carrier may have blocked it on Jelly Bean.
I'd like to know if there is any solution or fix that you know. If, there is not, what would be a good rom for my Optimus 2x?
Simply install the kowalski kernel and it will fix your problem.
You can find the thread in development section.
Good luck

Unfortunately, this also doesn't fix the problem for me. I'm running CM10.1 on a P990. I think it's actually in the ROM, don't know if that's possible? WiFi tethering doesn't seem to be fixed on CM10.1, yet.
It seems tonyp has fixed this issue. Try the search button

CM 10.1 has this issue...tonyp has fixed this apparently but you have to wait for this master's work to come out in real form.
this fix is still not available in public release (saw tony saying about this in Temasek's thread)....so you need to wait for the penguins NEXT BIG THING to be released

HD+ Touchscreen Sensitivity

Hello All,
So I have been checking the change logs for both the Carbon and CM10.1 ROM for improvements for the touchscreen issues. I know verygreen is working diligently to get this issue resolved. I am unaware of does the Carbon ROM by killersloth have the touchscreen issues as well or only CM 10.1 ROM by verygreen?
I do not want to flash either ROM until I know the touchscreen sensitivity is the same as stock rom because I will be flashing whichever ROM on my mother's tablet and she will have a fit if there is any problems.
I know things like this take time, I just want to know about the Carbon rom.
Thanks,
TAB
I have had some of those issues. I don't think they have been reported too much in the CarbonRom thread though. I do believe that killersloth has incorporated Verygreen's fix into the Rom. I've only had issues using a web browser and that didn't happen too much. I don't remember it happening in the current rom, but I've only been running it for a day.

So just so I understand you have ran multiple versions of the Carbon ROM but the latest build (7/7) you are not experiencing any more touchscreen issues?

I've been running Carbon since B1. I'm using the latest build and I have not _noticed_ any issues. For me the issue was intermittent, so I can't tell you that you won't have issues, or that there aren't any issues, just that I have not noticed them.

[Q] NFC no longer working on Cm 10.1-20130716 nightly build

Hello everyone. I am wondering if anyone in the cm nightly build that I an using is experiencing nfc issues. I am not able to turn it on. Now I have deleted cache in the recovery, and downgraded the cm build, but I have not fixed the problem. Now my question is : did anybody else have this problem? And what should I do to fix it?
Thank you so much for your help. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask .

Are you sure it worked before on CM cause when I was on CM NFC did not work? But that was a long time ago so who knows lol
Use cm file manager and remove /system/vendor/firmware/libpn544_fw.so then reboot and it will work.

[Q] I9000 rom with access to DeviceParts

Hy all.
I've been watching this board for quite a long time but in the end I decide to ask for advice from someone that knows.
I'm searching for ideal rom that has working device parts like tv-out. I kinda dount I'll find any 4.3 tom with this feature if not pease suggest me some other latest build. I tried sevral latest rom on CM base (CM 10.1, 10.2 Slim beam 4.2.2 4.3, C-rom v4) but with no luck, thus many of those are very buggy in basic operatios. Currently using updated Helly Bean 4.3.
Thanks
CM currently doesn't have DeviceParts working. And because a lot of 4.3 roms draw from CM sources, none of them will have that feature fully working.
Odd though, CM10.1 and Slim 4.2.2 should have it working

When I connect phone with tv with cable, I just can't enable tv.out setting under menu, it stays gray. Cable is fine, I've been using it with my very old rom (2.2) before and decide to refresh my rom, that is why I asked in the first place.
Am I missing something or?
Okay i think you should report it here ...

I probabl should, but I don't bave privilegies to post in dev section. Othervise I would share my experience and report qute few bugs with different roms which could help solving them.

Just keep posting and helping others in the Q and A section, you'll get to your ten posts in no time don't spam though, that doesn't go down well...
But once you do have ten posts, as freakymod said report this in the dev thread and see if someone knows what's going on.

Ah okay sorry i haven`t that you have <10 postings ,sorry...
Maybe you can describe the bug or missing function and i post it in teh dev thread for you ...

The problem is that the kernel built in the rom is still based on 4.4.2, don't know why, but in future we hope this issue will be solved. For now you have diffrerent solutions:
1) You can flash a custom kernel, like ak kernel, franco..
2) you can flash this wifi fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53132436&postcount=6487
3) someone says that flashing the stock boot.img by google will solve the issue, but I personally haven't tried..
OK thanks for explaining.
I think I'll wait until the kernel will delivered Witz an nightly.

Great, I flashed my Nexus 4 with the current nightly omni-4.4.3-20140611-mako-NIGHTLY.zip and now WLAN works again!!!
Thanks for your support!
:good:
Sorry about that one. Normally, after an update like this, the kernel, device tree, and blobs are merged all at once when a maintainer has time.
But someone merged the device tree changes without telling anyone else and didn't merge kernel/blobs. I saw no blob/kernel changes and assumed no device tree changes, so was scratching my head trying to figure out why things broke until I finally looked and noticed that the device tree HAD been merged.
(I have been extremely busy the past week so didn't have time to look at it for a while.)
