Unlock AT&T SGH-i537 - Galaxy S 4 Active Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got an AT&T SGH-i537 from E-Bay and need to unlock it. I originally purchased it unlocked, but had to send it in to Samsung for repairs and they sent me a replacement which is locked. Since it is still under warranty I do not want to root it just yet.
Can anyone recommend any good reputable cheap unlocking services?

[Q] Unlock AT&T

So, I asked the seller whether he could unlock the phone and request it online on AT&T website. And he said, currently the device can't be unlocked. He guessed that it's because he's not renewing his GoPhone acc since he's not using it anymore. If I buy, might anybody be able to help unlock it? It's off contract. It shouldn't be a problem right?

XT1064 Consumer Cellular Can't sim unlock IMIED not found

Hi,
I bought a consumer cellular Moto G 2014 from Sears, but when i try the unlocking services on ebay they tell me they can't find the IMEID in their database? Does anyone know if these can be unlocked?
Thanks.
Weird because I got the same phone (sears deal) and bought an unlock code from eBay from a UK seller that advertised AT&T unlock etc.
They found my IMEI just fine and got my unlock code within an hour of purchase. I'm using the phone in Canada (Rogers) currently.

I used lineoutcomms. I too have an XT1064 from the Sears deal. Haven't tested the unlock code I received yet as I don't have a compatible SIM card from another carrier at the moment, but he was able to provide me with one based on my IMEI. Cost was $2.68.
Are you sure the CC phones are even locked? How can you tell? I use Consumer Cellular, but I bought my phone from best buy. I never even thought about their phones being locked.
I bought 2 xt1064s from sears a month apart. Was able to unlock the first one off of ebay with no problem. Finally wanted to unlock the second one just recently and every seller i try says imei cannot be found. What gives? The batches shouldn't be too far apart. Is my only option to sign up with consumer cellular, wait out their time frame, and then request a code?
My CC phone came from Sears and yes they are locked. My question is, why go thru an EBay seller to do it? Maybe I'm missing something, but I just went on the Motorola webpage got my unlock code and unlocked it.

Reliable and inexpensive way to unlock phone

I was wondering if anyone sim unlocked their ATT Galaxy S6 for a decent price? I bought the phone at full retail price, but At&t keep telling me i need 6 months of gophone service to unlock it, which i think is BS. I would be grateful for PMs or replay to this thread, thanks.

If it was brought from a carrier (ATT, Tmobile etc) and you have completed the contract or paid ETF or paid phone in full, you can contact the carrier.
They will unlock for free.

No. If you are on stock ROM, code should work.
I had phone in the same state (running kitkat, rooted with towelroot). When I completd/terminated my contract, got the code from ATT and it worked.
You can only try the code few times. After that phone will lock to the operator and no code will work after that (even if right one).
So make sure the ebay seller is giving you the right code for your IMEI.
If its under contract, even 3rd party seller may not be able to unlock. Check with them before you buy.
ATT has given me the unlock code in years gone by, even when I didn't have the phone paid off. I explained that I need local SIM-as-you-go accounts when traveling for work. (true BTW)
