[Q] t-mobile my account app root? - LG G Flex

I just update the my account app and i see that it tells you if your phone is root or not, is this for t-mobile to check and void your warranty? ??

I noticed that too...Im guessing thats exactly what its for. I froze the app, backed it up, and uninstalled it as soon as i saw this.

You could also try root cloak from xposed module.

tmobile does NOT care if your phone is rooted, so dont be paranoid..

Wifi tethering

I rooted my at&t note 3 with kingoroot. My question is: if I freeze tethering provisions in titanium backup can they (at&t) detect I'm using my tethering?

There are SOOO many ways a carrier can tell what and where your data is going. Freezing the tethering provisions will enable the tethering feature on your phone. It will not hide your data from your carrier.
I have unlimited data on my attention account so as long as they can't see I'm tethering I'm good.

If your provider see more traffic going through your connection than the phone alone would normally generate then they will assume you are tethering and change your plan and bill you accordingly.
I have hit 16 gigs before. With out root.

Like we said, IF your provider checks. Many are cracking down on data leeches as it is costing them bandwidth that is not being paid for. AT&T comes to mind as they have even announced they will start doing it as of last month or so.
Thanks for all your help guys

Root doesn't mess up any thing itself. Especially gps. It just means you have access to the heart of the system. If you have access to the system and mod anything, you have the potential to mess something up!
If you just got a replacement phone, chances are you can't currently gain root. The latest kit Kat release is locked out. If your baseband ends with NB4, MJ5, or MI9 you can root. Just don't uninstall, or delete anything unless you know what you're doing and you'll be fine.
I don't think they ship replacements with KK. Right now it is OTA only.

Mines on mj5..so I guess it was just a bad GPS antenna on the other phone..

There were many reports of devices with software pre KK (NC2) That had GPS issues. It was completely software related. Custom ROMs and KK fixed that issue. There were a few instances it was not fixed though.
Root will not be a problem for GPS.

It seems your phone is configured this way by AT&T. Your only chance is to somehow use some third party app in order to trick the system or to root your phone, but void your warranty.
