Hello everyone,
I am really digging the new android 4.4 lockscreen, what with the full album artwork and such, and I was wondering if there is any way to get this exact lockscreen on my HTC One?

Rename the HTC Lockscreen apk. You will have to unlock the phone before you can answer calls though

Yes, I have my phone rooted, and in es file explorer i have given that root acces too. I found HTCLocker, but if I try to rename or even delete that es file explorer says something like: failed or task failed.
EDIT: Managed to delete the apk and a corresponding file, lockscreen is still there

And you've toggled read and write functions with ES?
Don't delete it. If you can't rename HtcLockScreen.apk to HtcLockScreen.apk.bak then you don't have permissions to read and write to /system

Hi all, ive just upgrade my optimus 2x to V10b, the bootanimation now is not the original LG bootanimation but it is a starhub bootanimation, then ive changed the bootanimation at /system /media by replacing the bootanimation.zip with a new one, it is a success but the shut down animation still shows starhub animation, can anyone show me how to replace the starhub shut down animation??
check in /system/app/PowerOff.apk the shutdown animation should be there..
ok, how do i edit it??
besides that, can anyone upload the stock power_off.apk file and stock bootanimation.zip file??
Here is PowerOff.apk, dunno about the bootanimation

Hey everyone, sorry if this is a "hijack", i'll try to stay within the borders...
OK, just to start off these are my stats:
Android Version 2.3.7
Mod Version CyanogenMod-7-10132011-Nightly
Build GWK74
Baseband: 1035.21_20110720
My question is, i've seen mentioned to go look in the /system/media for the bootanimation.zip. When i peek in that directory i see a bootanimation.bak
I can't seem to find a .zip.
I'm still new at all this, so be gentle

.bak is just a backup file from something ...
use root explorer for example to display system directories correctly ...
if you still need cyanogen bootanimation.zip , here it is

There won't be any differences between the files displayed with root explorer... ES file explorer is really very good.
If you have a boot animation during start of the phone there must be a zip file somewhere..
I've read that an alternative place for the zip file was somewhere in data, data/local I think? This is to enable non root phone to be customized.. There's a thread about this in this section.

OK, so it's good to know i wasn't missing anything eith ES. Even tho, i still cannot seem to find a bootanimation.zip anywhere
So far i've looked in:
/system/media/ only had a bootanimation.bak
...i've tried all others mention, and nada.
But i do have a bootanimation.zip there somewhere... and have been able to change it using BAC LITE. Could it be that maybe Rom Toolbox (having the option to diable boot animations) placed it somewhere else?
But just as a catch up, when i boot (with the option all boot animation disabled in RT) i get the plain white LG logo, then switches to a fancier coloured LG logo (and then a skateboarding Android or simple "Android" if enabled in RT).
Again, thanks got the helps guys...

I know it's the long way round, but you could probably extract it from this:

So I gave it a try and it worked. Just drop the apk into /system/app/ set the permissions and reboot.

Im assuming you have a file manager installed (Root Explorer, Es File Explorer)
You have to long press the app, after moving into proper folder /sysstem/app/ and set the same permissions as the others (I cant remember which ones they are exactly but you will be able to tell once in the file system).

You didnt follow the instructions. You shouldnt be trying to install anything because the .apk's are not signed.
However, if you move supernote.apk and supernote.odex into system/app and set proper permissions and then reboot it will work.
still cant install this app. I move both supernote.apk and supernote.odex to system/app. try to set permission in many different ways, but this app still not be installed. i guess i give up.

Yes, there are two types of permission: rw-rw-rw and rw-r-r. I alredy tried and reboot but still didnt work. I download the dump image. Trying down the Rom now.
---------------
Ok. Using the .apk from the ROM, i got the app installed but FC upon opening.
---------------
finally, got the app working.
+ get the app from ROM link, not the dump link
+ copy supernote.apk to sytem/app
+ using root explorer/es file explorer, set permission : read-write for user-group-and other (rw-rw-rw).
+ reboot
Can someone please save everyone a lot of trouble and post the .apk from the ROM?

Am I right when I say that you´ve wrote this with your X8?
Becasue there is no ROm called "fingerprint", and because your phone didn´t recognize the name, it just changed it to "fibgerprint", a word from the dictionary that was the most similar to it.
To answer your question:
Go to your homescreen/one of your homescreens, search a free place (that means, that there are no widgets or links to apps, just the background.
Then, put your finger on that free place and leave it there for 2 seconds.
Then, a windows should pop up, that asks you what you want to add to your homescreen.
Choose:"Background image" and then choose another from your gallery/the CM-background images/the live wallpaper gallery and add another one.
Sorry...i wrote the wrong sentence...i was talking about the Anime wallpapers in gingercruzt..that is disturbing...i just need some good Rom not a Rom with pictures like that...can you help me?i want them gone forever...something like deleting lib or anything....and yeah....im using my phone
you can find the wallpapers inside /system/media/wallpapers
you have two options for delete
1- using root explorer or any other file explorer with root permission from inside your phone
2- open the updateGCR8.1 Rom file from your PC with winrar and point to the wallpapers and right click delete "do not extract just right click open" then update it through recovery as you did when installing on your phone
Default one will stay anyway, it is in resources
Just load any wallpaper/s from market.

Es file explorer is not as consistent when it comes to giving you root access, which is what you need to paste in system, app. Imo, root explorer is a must.
Edit; although I read that you can obtain that permission somewhere in the es file explorer settings

Download root explorer, I am assuming you have root. Next locate what folder the file is in. Make sure you have read write privileges by clicking the button art the top of the program. Long press the apk file, select copy or cut, etc. Then find the system folder, go in to it, find apps, go in to it, and place your file here. That should work.

Here you go bud,
Simply use "File Manager" or another file system app from the market to install the apk files to /system/app. Then reboot.
Be sure to have root and set permissions to match all other items in /system/apps. Also be sure to erase what ever current HTCMusic.apk you currently have in the folder.
Good luck!
