[Q] Backup wifi settings - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
as the LEAP wifi connection works as harm on 4.1.2 and stop working on 4.3 (I know the reason - the field user certificate is missing on wifi setting window), I would like to firstly install 4.1.2 on my xperia sp and set up the wifi (user certificate, password, etc). Ater that, using pc upgrade
the android to 4.3. It keeps my wifi settings, so it keep connecting.
But when I'm trying to unlock bootloader, I lost all settings.
Is it possible to restore the settings, from file? Which file is responsible for that?
Is that /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf file? Enough to keep it and restore it after unlock bootloader?
best regards
M.

[Q] Can't connect to WIFI on Mackay ROM (probably wrong MAC-Address)

Hi,
my router is MAC-Address filter secured. When I flashed Mackay Rom (of course after wiping and that stuff), I couldn't connect to WIFI. It didn't say that I had the wrong password.
Do I have any chance to edit the phone's MAC-Address? Does anyone else recognize this problem?
Oh and don't want to use those spoofer apps...
thanks

[Q] Wifi not working properly

Today I tried the DoomLords method of rooting .244. After I downgraded the kernel to .423 suddenly my wifi stopped working (I wasn't able to turn it on - was turning off all the time). But hey I continued in rooting and after I rolled the .244 back I face another strange behavior of my wifi. Now I am able to turn on wifi, I am able to see packets flowing at the wifi notification icon but I am not able to load any page at all. And yes the wifi actually provides the Internet (my laptop confirms). Anyone facing similar behavior?
P.S.: I bought my Xperia in Japan if it somehow matters.
Edit: After reboot wifi always turn on itself.
I had the same problem, solved by flashing kernel from where I started.
What do you mean by kernel you started from? Original .244 from update or .244 from DoomLord? The original .244 would make me lose root permissions wouldn't it?
Original. 244, no you won't lose your root.

[Q] [PROBLEM] 4X does not connect to WiFi under WEP

Hi. Not sure if this is the right place to post but as I am using this ROM, Cannot post in the corresponding ROM forum - not enough privileges.
I would like ask for your help. I have an LG-P880 running Android 4.4.2 with LiquidSmooth LS-KK-v3.0-2014-02-12, Kernel: 3.1.10-CM+(2014-102-12). After flashing the ROM, the phone does not connect to WiFi with WEP. I choose the WiFi connection, enter the key (yes, the key is correct, tried few times), the phone tries to connect but then only says "Saved, secured with WEP" and never "connected". I searched through many forums for a solution. Seems like many models have a similar problem but couldn't find the descriptio for my phone or for this ROM. Most of solutions are as follows:
Wrong key (not my case)
Nulled IMEI - insert new value (not my case)
Change device name in WiFi direct - for HTC One (not my case)
Set correct time, date and zone as it may affect WiFi (all correct)
Some Kernel drivers don't support old WEP protection (could be the case)
I installed WiFi Fixer app. In debug mode it says the following:
Connecting to:"<provider name>"
Supplicant State: ASSOCIATING
Supplicant State: DISCONNECTED
and it goes on like this over and over.
Please note that it connects fine to other networks protected with WPA and WPA2. Some advise to reprogram the router - impossible in my case as it is the company's office and I don't have access to the router/server.
Yes, I wiped cache, dalvik and did factory reset couple of times - the problem remains.
I really like this ROM and don't want to move another, so please advise.
Has anyone experienced this on 4X? Any advice? If it's the problem with the kernel, which drivers would you recommend me to upgrade to?
Its already been stated that support for wep has been dropped for a while due to security. Only other way is to change the security type or go with an old version of android
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
or grab werewolf kernel, it (still) has support for wep afaik, just make sure to find anykernel installer
Thank you, guys. I was almost sure it's because of kernel. guess I just needed some one to confirm it to me.

[Q] Tethering Problem

Hey guys,
I have a Z1 C903, which doesn't work as a wifi tether nor bluetooth tether. I can turn it on, and other devices can see it, however when trying to connect, the signal drops completely.
If I wait the signal will restart and become full strength, where I will need to manually connect, which proceeds to the signal disappearing again. I've tried unsecure, wpa2, wpa to which I have no luck either. Devices such as laptop will say limited connection, whereas android tablets and phones will refuse to connect and will say "Saved, secured with WPA2" or something else if i change the password method.
I've tried searching for any reports of wifi tethering not working, but the problems seem to be different from my situation.
More details on my device:
It has an unlocked bootloader
Now running Paranoid android
Problem occurred on stock 4.3, nut 4.4 (I assumed it was a glitch on Sony's drivers, and have waited for months now for a patch)
Could a faulty TA do this?
Any ideas?
Am I f***ed?
Cheers

Flash your phone by flash tools including wipe apps log and cache and system
It should solve your problem
And of course first re-lock your BL and flash to stock Rom

Sorry about late reply, I am out in urban areas without internet connection. I'll try doing this tonight.
Am I right in assuming all Z1 CM ROMs have this problem, if I must install a stock-based ROM?

Oh, sorry I forgot to tell you
You should use stock rom

Go here and fun your phone model and download the version and region you want

You can try to change the name of your phone (Network SSID) to a simpler form instead of default.
I got it working
I got it working thanks to your suggestion, Saeed.
I flashed the stock ftf from the mega thread and that restored my tethering capabilities. I then proceeded to reinstall the ParanoidRom and now the tethering works as well.
I'm not sure what happened, but I'd assume something went wrong when upgrading to 4.3 and the problem stayed when I then upgraded again to 4.4 and then to paranoid.
Thanks

[Q] Phone won't forget Wi-FI network

Trying to forget a Wi-Fi network, but after a while it will automatically connect to it again. I can see that it worked to forget it. I'm guessing it's syncing the wi-fi password from a backup. The only solution I can think of is to disable syncing but that's not acceptable.
Using ARHD rom (sense 6).
I have the same problem .
I had turned off "Back up my data" in Backup & Reset and "Auto sync" in Account & sync . Then FORGET these Wifi , but after a while my device auto try to connect these wifi which has "saved" status. It blocks me from connecting to the valid one instead.
Any one help me please ?
My device is not rooted , fimware android version 5.0.2
