SlimKat was one of the first few released right after the Official Kitkat released. As its name implied, it has the smallest footprint and yet it has some of the cool stuff. I plan to port it for a long time. Although there are still issues in my Kitkat roms, I want to add this to our list. Enjoy!

Release Note:

New bluetooth patch can't turn off.Flash this View attachment bluetooth-patch2.zip in recovery will fix it. Gool luck!
2014/12/30
New bluez doesn't work on 4.4.4. A patch is needed. If bluetooth is not working, flash this View attachment 3089546 in recovery. Gool luck!
2014/12/15
No more update now so this is the final release. Slimkat 8.20. Enjoy
2014/10/10
It is the outraging and encouraging monment for Hong Kong. The protest for democracy is ongoing. Difficulties show what men are!
I returned home for changing and refreshing. It's been too long for an update and Slim is now 8.4.
2014/8/16
Slim is now 7.2.1. In this build, I add the performance settings to advance settings. In GPU settings, a new option Mali_use_vpll is added. This enables the frequency lock of mali and is the way to add frequency steps. Stock is disabled. Turn it off will return to stock values.
goo.im takes a few minutes to show and I can't display the files in AFH. I don't know why hosts always give me hard time...
 History
2014/7/8
Just before the WC Semi-final, I updated SlimKat to 4.4.4r1. Haven't test much but SlimKat behaves slim and stable as always.
2014/5/16
Slimrom is persistance. I was thinking about 4.4.3 but seems a bit too far.. Slimkat is version 5.1 now!
In this build, I fixed the Dashclock from Slim. I mainly worked on the missing pieces of i815. Light sensor is fixed. i815 can enjoy auto-brightness now! Working on mobiledata but with little progess.. IR is enabled in kernel. Can't find any material for IR support in platform but Smart IR Remote is working. Smart IR Remote is a great app. It deserve a few dollars!
Guess what? IR works for p6800 and most likely p6810 too! I remove the cover of my p6800 and IR works perfectly with Smart IR Remote. I can control my TV... :victory:
Anyone have guts can remove the cover and drill a hole at the right center edge...
Note: Not every p68x0 has the sensor. Open the cover with screen facing down. If you see a board with a tiny led (that's the sensor) at the center of left edge, congrat you got the sensor!
2014/4/25
This Slimkat 4.6 would be probably the last one from Slim. HWA for openGL is enabled. Camera and Maps are working now. DeskClock widget FC is fixed by porting from Omni.
2014/4/4
That was a productive week. After a few sleepless night trials, the rotation flickering is fixed! :victory: There was actually two issues. Rotation on some apks like the browser cause screen deformation is another. Digging through tens of files, I finally fixed it! Slim is now 4.1. Just like other Kitkat ROMs, it is almost come to an end. I'm glad to say: All the major issues are gone now! :highfive:
2014/3/1
Bluez may take some time to become stable. PA is in beta6 not complete yet. PAC has beta now but not allow to publish. This weekend, I prepare the device trees for SlimKat. They have done a good jod, everything is ready in an hour. Just patched a few things like WiFi and telephony and the rom is out!
AFH may take longer to upload...

To be fair to danielhk, provide more information. What model tab do you have (wifi/3G/US), and did you full wipe? I did a full wipe and not having any playstore crashing. Bluetooth works except for phone calls

P6800 and yes I did a full wipe, I know Daniel will fix everything he always does !! But went back to omni ROM for now

no mic on keyboard
1. Looked in language and input under settings and chose the android keyboard - no voice typing option available.
2. Installed Google voice search per internet search - still no voice typing option under keyboard settings.
3. Installed Google keyboard and no option there for voice typing either.
4 Tried Google search - small window opened said go to wiki - browser opened and it went to wiki.
5. So still no mic on keyboard.
6. Tried holding down settings button to see if another choice would appear for a mic - not.
7. My understanding is the Voice typing option would need to be selected first - but I have no Voice typing option so I am lost.
Usually this would be something I could solve with some surfing but I can't so I was wondering if this ROM could be the reason?
If not could anybody help solve this it would be great!

Just check my new slim build. Voice search and input is ok. I'll try to relase the new slim this weekend.
Make sure wifi is connected. Voice input requires to connect togoogle server.
If nothing helps, you may try a factory rest. Some data might be corrupted.
Good luck!

WiFi not an issue - voice search and all other WiFi functions are great - just no option for Google voice typing in settings which of course contributes to the mic on the keyboard not being there.
Did a fact restore and no change also reloaded ROM and gapps. No matter what I can't get Google voice typing to show under language and input settings. Loaded your omni ROM and it is working without a hitch. Thanks for all your efforts

about update
sch i815
1. Installed newest slimkat - Nice to see a clean rotation with no applications getting all distorted. Did wipes of course.
2. Been using dolphin Browser for Flash Videos with your other twokit kat roms with no problems. Is slim missing what it takes to use flash. CM handles it nicely.
3. Dolphin in newest slim - The address bar at the top goes all funky in standard view but the browser works fine in full screen.
4. This should be easily replicated.
5. Reloaded it twice with minimal gapps to test if it was a bad download.
6. I would think it was either the slim source update or a change made in the video driver.
7. Any suggestions?
8. Also should we be able to use mobile odin pro? I can't!
Will this video fix work for other two tabs - I have to say cm is the most stable for the apps I am running
How much is reasonable and could you give a location to mail to so I could check the postage. Saw one on eBay here in the USA for 50 american. I would spring for the tab but need to see the postage. I owe you that at least for what you do for all us sch i815's

Thanks for the great ROM.
Sharing the following observations:
1. Bluetooth works with new era, PS 210 BTNC (Phiaton), Jambox, and jambox mini.
2. This ROM will read/write to exfat formatted 64gb SDCard.
3. MX Player Pro works for video playback.
4. Voice input is working for me as well. Had a few problems initially as I did not have voice search installed.
This appears to be a very good daily ROM. Excellent work Daniel - thank you very much. Will report if I have any issues but it takes a few days to set the P6800 up. Daniel thanks again for all the great work you do for us.

Agree, great ROM
Have Media Scaner battery suck only...
Video works with Dice Player as well.
WiFi tethering starts, should work think.
Camera in my case doesn't work, but I use another camera app and it is work.
One time during file copy to SD card SD card stop rrsponce, need to reboot.
Thank you Daniel :+)

US$50 is OK for me. I have bid a few but no luck yet. Some charge too much for international shipping. Air parcel to HK is around $15 which is reasonable.
It is not practical for me to return too. Therefore I have to make sure it work before shipping. Mike agree to help but I haven't got one yet.
If anyone have a deal, I can pay with paypal.
Thanks!

Just wanted to thank you Daniel for the Rom. My first try of a custom Rom on my p6810.
After first boot I had a calendar storage crashing issue, but after one reboot that was fixed. The built-in camera app doesn't work, but 3rd party camera's work fine, so not sure why it's not working, but I simply get no preview image.
But very impressed with it. I was on Bolivas Rom before. Not sure if hdmi is working on the Rom, will test later.

[ROM][CM10] Thinkpad Tablet (v0.9)

It's jelly time. Made by a TPT user for TPT users.
Notice
Developed on a WE/16Gb 3G TPT. US, UK and ROW Tablets (any size) are confirmed to work, too
Density set to 160 dpi to keep market compatibility. Don't like to do this but the market problems are just annoying. Change it with a appropriate app if you don't like it (btw. our native density is approximate 150 dpi).
Flash on your own risk! Might turn your TPT into a expensive chopping board.
Requirements
This build uses the Lenovo ICS kernel, you need to upgrade to stock ICS first (Make sure you keep root!)
A ICS ClockworkMod version like this one.
Screenshots
here (Thanks obscure.detour)
Installation
Download ROM zipfile (and 3G patch if you want to) and put it on a sd-card
Boot into CWM (Reboot and press Vol+)
Make a nandroid backup in CWM!
Make sure the backup worked!
Full Wipe (May not be needed if you come from an earlier CM10 version)
Flash zip in CWM
Optional: Flash 3G patch in CWM
reboot
Restore Stock ICS
Boot into CWM (Reboot and press Vol+)
Restore old nandroid backup
Additional Steps
If you have problems with random reboots or sleep of death try to change wifi to "always on". You can find it in: settings->wifi->"click the 3 dots in the upper right"->advanced->keep wifi on during sleep
If you want to use NotesMobile you want to look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34649207#post34649207
If you have problems with wiping (just doesn't work) and want to reformat the data partition, use this zip in CWM: http://ubuntuone.com/4zKT1jqeqhR8qdGh2y4TaM (WARNING: THIS WILL REFORMAT DATA, THAT INCLUDES YOUR INTERNAL SDCARD!)
Working:
Wifi
Touchscreen + Stylus
Bluetooth
HW Graphic Acceleration
Sound (Including Mic)
Cameras Front/Back
Compass (but needs calibration)
HW Video encoding/decoding (i.e. for Youtube HQ)
Mount as USB/MTP for filetransfer (in windows)
GPS (Well "working" like always nearly unusable but its working theoretically)
Lightsensor and other sensors
3G (Ericsson card)
3G (Gobi card)
HDMI
Stylus
Buttons
Not Working
Nothing here anymore. Everything is working somehow but some parts still contain bugs (see buglist)
Known Bugs
Google maps crashes sometimes
3G issues:
- On some devices the carrier is not shown and 3G needs more time to connect
Wifi tethering not working
Stylus only mod not changeable in lockscreen
Some other bugs that occur only on few devices
Things maybe added in future releases
A density of 150dpi (a soon as i find a good hacked market or something else)
Getting everything to work and stable
Thanks
The Cyanogenmod team

Everyone trying to find and report bugs

Amazing! I cannot thank you enough for your continued work Koshu.
Doing a nandroid and testing now. No reason it should not work on a US-based tablet, correct?
Also, any chance we could get an MD5 checksum? Sorry, I'm kind of crazy

Should work. WE, US and UK are pretty much the same devices except the 3G card. I'm just curious if this ROM works also on ROW.
Will test in the morning long day of college and work, need to sober up before I tackle this. Thanks for the Jelly Bean up date.
This ROM is running amazingly well. Everything I do, it does it fast and smoothly. Project Butter truly stands out here. Never has this tablet felt so buttery smooth.
I even installed Major Mayhem to try a game out and I feel like it ran better than the official ICS build (OTA3).
Google Now works. USB drive and mouse worked fine. Pen works fine in Lecture Notes and Quill. The pen button does not work in Quill though, pretty sure it has something to do with the way Quill detects the active pen. Sound works, video works as long as it is SD.
Other than that I'll leave you all with these screenshots.
Great job Koshu and thank you!

You have a ROW tablet? Please let me know if this works and if it doesn't (i assume it won't even boot in this case) send me a copy of your boot.img. As i didn't need to modify the kernel itself (compared to ICS with the HC kernel) we could just try to switch the kernels and see what happens.

Absolutely, feel free to share the pics. It is running super smooth I am absolutely loving it so far. Now I've got JB CM10 on both of my devices!
Also, I have noticed Chrome runs really great. About a thousand times better than ICS (OTA3). Gets a little slow sometimes with 15-20+ tabs but that is to be expected with our aged hardware.
Another note: I use CSipSimple, it allows me to use SIP in combination with a PBX server (Pbxes.org) for WiFi calling on my phone. I have never been able to get it to work with any Lenovo ROMs. Well it works on this ROM! I can now make/receive calls with my tablet using WiFi. I know many don't know or even care what this is, but just wanted to share my excitement.
Working well here too. Although I get cell phone indicator in my tray

Yeah I forgot to mention that. You need to enable Airplane mode and then enable WiFi. Although, because I use it on my phone as well, I've been using an app called AutoAP. It automatically enables airplane mode when using a saved WiFi network. For some reason it says it isn't compatible with our tablet in the Play Store. It is literally the only app I could find that wasn't "compatible". It works fine if you sideload it. Download here.
Since this and the few other issues being the GPS(it never worked anyway), HW acceleration for HD playback, and the light sensor I haven't found any reason for it to not be my daily driver.
Cheers.
Omg wow! I need to dig out my TPT!!
US 32GB TPT and loving Jelly Bean can't wait to see were this goes from here. Thanks for all the hard work with JB and CWM.

Awesome! HQ video decoding and recording! You are truly a gentleman. Cannot wait to try it out. When my school expenses subsides I'll be donating to you.
Also, you may link directly to the images using the imgur link if you want instead of linking to my post. http://imgur.com/a/r0Iq2 I could also embed them in the 2nd post if you would like.
EDIT: Build v0.2 seems to be fine. HQ videos do indeed work in YouTube. I was even able to get a 720p (mkv) encoded video streaming over WiFi. Works flawlessly (24fps).
Koshu, is there a foreseeable future for 3G in your CM10 builds for TPT?
I'm just curious if it's a hurdle you have hopes in clearing. I'm running a GOBI3000 and paying for a data plan that I'm trying to get the most out of.
BTW, I've got my TPT heading back for service and I'm crossing my fingers for an OTA 2.5 system upon return. Get my root back...

I think i try fixing 3G next as the other parts are more or less minor problems (gps more, lightsensor less). But i don't have a gobi card but an ericsson, so i will start with the ericsson card to get a grip on this and after the ericsson card is working we could give gobi gobi a try. But this includes a lot of testing and i will need someone with a gobi device to help me out.

Ah great, then lenovo finally uses a similar kernel for both devices, meaning i can play around with the kernel a bit (would like to add cifs and nfs support, maybe even overclocking some day).

[ROM][P75XX/TMobile][Oct28]Cyanogenmod 10.2

I'll summarize the standard disclaimer: By downloading, you accept any and all outcomes no matter how strange.
Big thank you to forum member epinter for getting early builds to work. The CM has already integrated a patch like his.
DO NOT USE OLDER A1 KERNELS: They don't have SELinux support. The included kernel is really just V1.9 with SELinux turned on. It has all the same features that the A1 kernel normally provides.

I am no pershoot or other highly talented developer. It is very unlikely I can make any major bug fix if major bugs are found. For example: I have no hdmi (or HD) TV at my house so if that doesn't work, you're SOL. I test features that I use and that I find important. If there is an issue that deals with hardware I don't have (various bluetooth accessories for example) there is no way I can fix it since I won't be able to get a logcat and I'm not that great at intepreting logcats. Getting CM10.2 working on this tablet was very much a trial and error process involving mostly error.
ROM Name Trivia

Since my kernel is named A1, after a childhood fantasy character my brother made up, I figured it would be fitting to name the ROM after A1's home world. A1 was head of the Diamond Cave world and the leader of the Diamond Force so I named the ROM after his world. That is his original 2001 hand drawn logo in my signature that I touched up in gimp.

-Accept the standard disclaimer and support disclaimer
-Read Post 2 FAQ and at least be vaguely familiar with it so you can look it up later if needed.
-(if coming from stock recovery) Look up my A1 kernel thread and download the appropriate TWRP recovery for your model, and look up the dd method of flashing. Hint: the A1 kernel thread is linked in my signature. TMobile variant use pershoot cwm.
-Download gapps and the cm10.2 zip.
-Put on some (good) music.
-Boot into recovery.
-Do a data wipe/factory reset. (Only for the first cm10.2 install. Not required for subsequent CM10.2 builds)
-Flash Cm10.2 and then gapps (Only flash gapps the first time)
-Reboot

Oh yeah, one last thing. In terms of source, I wrote out how I patched the CM10.2 source to make this rom and what those patches do. I thought that would be more informative rather than just throw in a bunch of edited files with their original locations.
So I have a use for reserving the second post
FAQ
1: I have no root even though I changed the superuser settings.
A: Go into about tablet and keep clicking "build number" until developer options appear. Change the settings in there.
2: Titanium backup fails to restore.
A: Set the backup folder location to be /storage/emulated/legacy/... instead of /storage/emulated/0...
3: The UI looks like honeycomb.
A: It's supposed to. I like the old honeycomb UI.
--> 3b: Is it possible to get the phablet ui?
A: No. The UI mode is hardcoded directly into the source. Making a flashable zip every time would be annoying. Also, the old UI produces a much smoother experience.
--> 3c: What would it take to make the phablet ui smooth?
A: The only solution that I know works is disabling the screenshot feature but that seems like quite a huge loss.
4: I get notifications for other users when using multi user.
A: It's a side effect of forcing the honeycomb ui. Multiuser was added in android 4.2 which is when the honeycomb ui was discontinued so it's likely that some bits are missing.
5: Focal won't change resolutions or is laggy
A: It's a focal bug. I'm not good enough to edit focal to fix it.
6: Is a Verizon variant coming?
A: No. It takes 3 hours to make the initial build and then 30-45 minutes each subsequent time. Also, it takes 20 minutes to upload each rom.
7: ADW drawer icons/start menu icons look pixelated
A: Use another launcher like nova. That one seems to work.
8: Some kind of text to speech engine crashes when launching google maps
A: Unfortunately it does. Change the text to speech settings to use pico in Settings.
9: Google Now crashes
A: Please see the workaround by pitpit24
10: 3G Mobile mobile data doesn't work
A: Please see the suggested fix by member John Kester
11: Will this ROM work for the German P75X1 variants?
A: Yes. The only difference between the German and international variants is that some features are missing from Samsung's stock rom. The hardware is the same. Blame this on apple for sue happy.
This is seriously awesome man. Really appreciated, nice job!

This is awesome Aaccount! It runs extremely smooth on the tablet, big thanks to you guy!
Edit: let's make some evaluation of this ROM:
I installed the ROM along With A1 kernel and twrp, i had no complications at all, except for the Gapps which gave me an error on first attempt.
complications?
My first start on android 4.3 started with ALOT of crashes of the system, launcher, tekst to speek engine,... After several reboots everything works okay. Exception for the web browser, when i'm surfing arround and when i want to write something on a website (like a status update on facebook) the keyboard crashes, even when i install google keyboard apk.
is this ROM really buttery smooth?
Yes, it runs very smooth with animations turned on, it's a faster experience then 4.2.2.
would i recommed this ROM to other poeple over 4.0 or 4.2 on the galaxy tab 10.1?
YES!
video playback?
No or minor stuttering noticed
bugs?
When i longpress the recent apps button, my touchscreen doesn't react anymore, fix by reboot or lock/unlock screen
root?
Root access lost on 4.3, you need to manually re-root
Awesome!!! It is just installing...let's see
Tapatalked from my Nexus7
No complaints at all. I think I like it more than 4.2.2.
Seems to run quiet well. Thanks!!!
Only thing is the tablet ui that looks a bit ics?-ish and misses qs tiles. It also shows emails arriving on other users mail inbox. Is there an option somewhere to go back for the moment to phabletui? Don't want my wife to get my mail notifications

Strange, was coming from latest cm10.1 and only wiped caches and system. Then I flashed ROM and gapps flawlessly. Booted up without any issues or error message. Also root is working fine after setting root to apps and adb in dev settings
I also noticed the recent apps thing. But only once so far.
Thanks for this awesome rom!!! It's really smooth and I have found no major issues so far
Please add an option to use the "normal" UI instead of the tablet UI, that would be great! Also I noticed that the recent apps animation is "wrong", maybe becuase of the Tablet UI?
By the way, Aacount how did you learn to build roms, modify kernels and stuff like this? Thats really great!
Thanks,

Is the a1 kernel 1.9 not compatible with cm 10.2? When I search all I see is says the cm version is for 10.1 only.
Also I don't see any versions for wifi. When I look through tab 10.1 development I don't see a a1 kernel listing anymore. Or did I not look far enough
Can I use the version I'm on now 1.8.4 on cm10.2?
Sorry if these are dumb questions but I'm kinda confused here .
nvm reread the op and i missed the part where the it said 3g works on wifi. my bad
I think I've caught up on reading the thread.
As for the phablet ui, I can't make a toggle to go back and forth between since those variables are hard coded. If I was any better I would add an option to the system settings which would let you choose. Since I personally don't like the new UI, it was actually one of my goals that the rom be released with the old ICS/honeycomb style UI. It looks like kasper_h and djmatt604 are going to be making their customized versions so I would wait for them to come out with the phablet ui. Since the old honeycomb ui was discontinued in android 4.2 and that's when multi user came out, I can imagine that there would be some shortcomings in using the old ui since the code is likely not updated. AOKP had a way of doing it but that solution was written by a team of talented developers and I am just a single enthusiast.
@shawnwojcik
The new selinux A1 kernel is included with the rom. You don't have to worry about that. In all honesty, I haven't tried flashing an older A1 kernel without selinux support to see what happens. However, there is no point in doing so since the included kernel is exactly the same as the latest V1.9 but just has selinux turned on. There is no loss of features.
@arizal
I can't make any guarantees that it'll work properly since mine is wifi only but...
And just a survey: how many of you guys use the tmobile variant or know somebody who does and actually does flashing?
I really don't like the old tabletui but it's your ROM and your choice. Thanks for this great ROM!!!
Gonna try this this weekend. *excited*

Hi,
I'm already working over 2 years at the N80XX devices (mostly LineageOS) and want to introduce you my version of SlimRoms Slim7.
For sure I want to thank all guy's which were ever working on these devices and also in general at the smdk4412.
I also want to thank the SlimRoms team and @Android-Andi for applying the latest security patches.
I've added some extra functionality like for example wakening up the device when you pull out the pen, back event when you press the pen button,
fast charging for every power supply, working keyboard dock + lineout functioning, signature spoofing for microG, Magisk hide support and much more...
I can't guarantee that there aren't any bugs, so I need you for testing and giving me a feedback.
Spoiler: Not working at the moment
N8020: incoming calls doesn't pop up, outgoing calls + internet (also LTE) are working fine.
HDMI out for all of them, not implemented.

To disable the sec_keyboard for example to play games without any hardware keyboard,
simply flash my magisk module to disable it:

If you are going to use Gapps,
I recommend to use the pico package!

For the others, you can use microG if you want to.
Do you like my work?
Than you can simply hit the thanks button and consider to spend me a coffee or a beer,
I'm doing this in my free time and it also costs a lot of money to buy hardware.

Because of my work on Android 9 and Android 11, I'm not able to proceed with all my Android 7 ROM's,

Flying with Slim
My old, beat up 8013 on Slim is absolutely flying! Definitely the best out of the 4 or 5 nougat roms I've tried. ?
A noob question, can I disable the mouse/cursor in drawing apps when the stylus is active? The "pointer" in Developer Options can't toggle it on or off.

thanks for testing and the almost positive feedback,
it would be great if you could make a last_kmsg after a reboot happens.
With this we could find out from where the problem does come from.

Can't get it installed
A good morning from the Netherlands, I can install lineageOs but I can't install your rom.
Can I flash your rom over lineageOs or is it necessary for a full format/cleanup.... because option 2 doesn't work for me.
Greetings from this side
Good morning,
it is necessary to do a normal factory reset.
Have you checked the md5 sum? Maybe a download error occured.
Tried an other one and yes it works thanks for the reply.
I just bought one yesterday... second hand...for me and my wife.
But maybe a noob question...ps touch and s-note aren't they in the package or am I missing something.
Gr mike
Hi Mike,
S-Note was only buildt for KitKat in the samsung stock firmware,
for this you have to use alternativevs with custom roms.
The pen itself should work fine.
Okay, so I downloaded this ROM.
Overall I'm not a fan, but I gotta give credit where it's due...
This ROM is fast and it doesn't seem to have an MTP bug! It's actually kinda usable.
It also supports Substratum Themes.
But this ROM also has some negatives!
The default browser (Lightning Browser) really sucks. It has a tab limit and tries to upsell you to a paid version. To use your own hosts file in the browser's adblock, you have to pay. There are far better browsers that could of been included instead that doesn't restrict any of it's features. I would of preferred to see Via Browser, Firefox, or Chromium included instead.
The version of Open Camera included seems to be missing features, such as Camera 2 API support (with all the additional adjustments it supports), and 60 Hz anti flickering. It also crashes upon taking a picture.
The default equalizer sucks. It just has a terrible looking UI that doesn't scale for the size of these tablets. The one in Lineage OS at least looked better and allowed saving presets. Additionally, there is no default music player (which Lineage OS did have even if it wasn't that great, you had something you could use).
Other notable missing apps I can remember from Lineage OS include: the screen recorder with voice recorder and the file manager (better than stock Android's).
It seems the stylus cursor does not have the ability to be disabled in settings as well.
Thanks for the hints, I've tried them and it works for me...my wife misses the...you can write on a website and cope send or something like that, it runs like a tablet supposed to do of that age and it's great

Which browser would you prefere? I can build every browser with the system.
Just want to mention, it's not LineageOS, its's Slim, this means that there are different apps and many not.
This make's the system as fast as it is.
But I could pack all apps with the system you've mentioned, if you all want this .
For everyone who would prefere a LineageOS can download it here:

Via Browser is pretty small and lightweight, has plenty of features without being complicated, no paywalls, and the source code is available: https://github.com/tuyafeng/Via
...otherwise Firefox.
For a small, but capable music player there is Vanilla Music and 4 addons to add some nice features (like lyrics search, tag editing, cover fetch, and metadata fetch), All for free, no paywalls, not bloated.
It's probably better to download Open Camera from the Play Store and include it, or maybe FDroid? I think those builds may have more of the features.
VLC is great for media playback.
It might be nice if you include Substratum for themes (as it does work) but that's not necessary.
Also searching for Terminal in settings shows a result, but it's not available for enabling. Would love to see that return as an option.
Built-in physical keyboard issue
Hello, html6405!
First and foremost, huge thanks for still maintaining these old devices. This ROM fixed some of the main issues of the other ROMs based on Android 7.1 for my GT-N8000. Namely, the settings app and the MTP service don't regularly crash anymore and adaptive brightness, as well as the night light finally work correctly. However, it doesn't fix one of the problems I've always had with custom ROMs for my device, which is having no ability to toggle off the built-in physical keyboard. While it usually doesn't bother me when using apps, I like racing games and want to occasionally play Asphalt 8. Unfortunately, upon detecting a physical keyboard (no matter even if it's fake) the game completely refuses to give any touch-based controls, and so I am left with an unplayable game.
To make such apps usable, can you either remove the built-in physical keyboard or give an option to disable it in the settings, please?
Once again, thanks for the awesome and stable ROM, and good luck in your developer career!

Hi,
thanks for your feedback, I never thought about this, to disable the keyboard.
The driver is always registered, even if it's not connected.
But when you connect the physical keyboard, a uevent will be sent to the system to recognize it.
In my opinion these games should give us the opportunity to choose how we want to control.
But I will try to find a solution for this!

Please follow the install instructions in your device's Wiki page linked below exactly, and make sure your device's firmware matches the required firmware listed.
Official builds:
sailfish
Unofficial - built once a month by me, includes GApps and Pixel goodies:
sailfish
If you don't follow these instructions, or use 3rd party add-ons (like Magisk) please don't expect support here.
Known Bugs:
Sound Trigger (Screen-off "Hey Google" detection) is nonfunctional due to incompatibilities with older proprietary binaries, and lack of system space for needed Google Apps.
Find any? Report them according to this guide.
Notes:
Firmware is shipped in the ROM package for this device, so no need to worry about updating it on your own!
The only supported GApps package at the moment is OpenGApps pico, linked on our Wiki page about gapps.

Notes:
GApps are baked in, alongside other Pixel goodies - No, I will not be building without GApps included for this device. These builds are built, packaged, and signed by me, and not affiliated with LineageOS whatsoever.
This will likely never be official. At minimum, IMS would need to be fixed, and I haven't cracked it (yet). If you can get IMS working, please contact me, and we can work together!

Thank you so much
Thanks, good work !
Thank you for great work!
Bugs:
- WiFi MAC randomization toggle in Developer Options is not working, but AFAIK MAC randomization isn't even supported by original Pixel devices
- sRGB toggle in Developer Options not working
- Brightness/dimming acts funky and sometimes reduces brightness to 0 by itself, then the screen becomes unresponsive for a short time

1. Expected, I disabled the function, it's broken, but there's no easy way to hide it.
2. Yeah, but color profiles through LiveDisplay should work in it's place?
3. I've hit this on stock a few times, wondered if it was my device or what - maybe a hardware digitizer bug?

Thank you so much for the Sailfish July 2021 update
Edit: what computer 🖥 and OS do you use to compile your Rom's? Would you be so kind to make a guide with the commands you use to compile? I can't get the one from the LOS website to work :/ ty

I use the same one's detailed on the Lineage wiki.
They work.
My personal PC specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/npjohnson/saved/#view=dr268d
Does this work with unlimited Google Photos storage? If so, I'm instantly installing it. Thanks in advance.
Edit: It does!!
Thanks for the August update dude! You're one humble dude for not posting that here.

August 2021 unofficial update for Sailfish is working great ty
My experience these first weeks: the phone is very fast and responsive, battery lasting longer than last official stock firmware (Android 10). The following are the only issues I've found:
Automatic brightness going too low in the dark: This was present at least in the past two releases.
Android Auto not working in the car ("Test App" appears on screen when connecting to car USB). There's a workaround in the forums where you need to copy the .apk to a system folder here, or re-flashing gapps. This was also present in the last releases.
Great job!
I've found issues that the settings app seems to crash if you enter the permission screen on some (all?) apps. Just go into Facebook or Messenger or whatever and try to disable the microphone and there's a good chance for a crash
Also, I've definitely noticed what was mentioned above. This ROM seems to have 0% screen brightness as an option. The official LineageOS 16.1 does not.

1. I can take a look into this. Nothing has changed in auto-brightness since 18.0's initial push, so it must be device specific. Does it just go black?
2. Yeah, we can't fit full GMS - AA is one of the things I sacrificed to get GMS to fit.

Not absolutely black, but so low the screen is unreadable. The firsts times it happened I thought adaptative brightness will correct it according to my selection, but it doesn't - at least for the lower end. The very next step in the scale is perfect for a minimum.

I undestand. I though this wouldn't be the case when I noticed that the required system app for Android Auto is very small (~3MB), but the truth is our devices really suffer the low storage.
Again, thank you very much, amazing job!
Has auto-brightness been fixed? It really did set itself to 0% last time I tried this ROM. Was there some way to get it back up? What about MAC address randomization and sRGB toggle?
MAC Randomization should be controllable by the OS itself, not hardware.
Your signature says "Lineage OS Developer Relations Manager". Does that mean that you know whether there is a plan to officially bring Lineage OS 18.1 to Pixel Sailfish in the future?

I have sailfish, and took it in a pitch dark room, sure it got dark but I could still read it?
Maybe it's panel degradation? Do you see this problem on stock?
And yeah, it's not the devices fault really, LineageOS has grown like 50 mb in the last few weeks.

1. See above, I can't recreate.
2. I hid it, LIveDisplay offers an alternative that actually works.
3. MAC Randomization - nah, it's more complicated than that - the controller and firmware have to play nicely - and they don't - so I disabled it.
And lastly, there's a note in the OP about why this won't (likely ever) be official.
Thank you for a prompt response! I never had auto-brightness issue with any ROM's, be they official stock images or Lineage OS official images. This ROM was the only one with that issue.
I hope you don't mind me asking, but why is it necessary for IMS to work? VoLTE doesn't work for some devices with official Lineage releases, but it doesn't get in the way of such releases either.

Given that the pixel is a US centric phone, and the US is shutting down everything except for voice over LTE this year, we don't want to ship something that's not going to work as an "upgrade".
Thank you for this ROM, it's fast and smooth.
Hii everyone
Thanks for this rom
Working nicely on sailfish
just one problem
a particular app is not working ( banking app )
i have attached the logs
kindly assist

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Thank you so much @LuK1337 and happy new year for all!
Thanks~
Thank you @LuK1337 for keeping this device alive! Updated from 19.1, everything went smoothly and working good.
Love the new Aperture camera app, results are really nice - pics are nice and sharp, shutter is quick and snappy, UI is nice and the features are good. One thing I noticed though - pictures are 8 megapixels instead of 16 (I set the capture mode to maximize quality, but it's still 8MP). Also, on the video front, FPS is capped at 30 - can't change it in any of the resolution modes. Otherwise, very nice app, will be interesting to see where it goes next and how it grows
Have also updated from 19.1 to 20.0 without any issues so far, running smooth . Using MindTheGapps and Magisk v25.2 (installed using the unsupported method, by flashing zip in recovery), both without problems.
Thanks for the ongoing support for this device!

LuK, you are awesome. Thank you LOADS for your work. I will enter my first fulltime job within the next few months, and I'll make sure to send you some bucks then!
Upgrade from 19 to 20 went smoothly, as described in the wiki. I also re-installed Magisk via .zip sideload, no issues at all!
Per the wiki page, we're still instructed to be on Android 11 before upgrading to LOS 20. Is that true if we're on LOS 19.1 right now? Or only for earlier versions of LOS?
Fantastic work Luk1337! I've been running an unofficial LOS20 and it's saved me from having to upgrade my phone to be able to use ASHA features and streaming music to my hearing aids. Seems I need an A13 ROMS to make that work.
With the official LOS20, the next thing I checked was if the fingerprint swipe gesture was restored. Could that be re-added with an update?

Not sure if that is the answer to your question, but the "Android 11" thing refers to the underlying OOS version. If you are on the latest/last OOS version (which you should be anyways if coming from LOS 19), everything should be just fine.

I just did a clean install of LOS 19.1 last week. I was on Android 11 when I did that. But LOS 19.1 is Android 12. I can install LOS 20 on top of that setup? The wiki makes a strong point of stating Android 11 is a must. But as you're getting at, I think, that was perhaps for the original clean LOS installation. Others here are doing it without any trouble, ti seems.

Yip, if you were on latest Stock OOS before installing 19.1, you can now safely install LOS 20 over 19.1.
The warning in the wiki refers to 'firmware', which is OOS, also if you follow the link on how to upgrade the firmware, you will be forwarded to a page with instructions on how to update OOS to the very last version. So, everything is fine and in place for LOS 20!
Thanks for the update. I see two issues so far:
1. The Status Bar Location Indicator toggle in Developer Options doesn't seem to do anything
2. Whenever I boot I get a notification saying apps are ready to update, even though all are up to date. It then asks me to connect to wifi, even though I'm already connected. I can't go any further
Hi, upgraded smoothly. Two glitches so far :
1. Every once in a while systemui ("Interface") seems unresponsive and asks to wait or close. If I close screen goes dark and when unlocked, everything is fine but my (permanent) vpn icon is then missing in the status bar (vpn is still active though)
2. After first restart and after each systemui force close, cast is shown in status bar, connected (admittedly) to a known device (which is not even in my house...).

It has been forever since that was a thing, but yes I do recall it was once a thing on the OP6. There used to be an app that was able to bring back this feature but that has stopped working since LOS19.
Another issue I have been bumping into is Bluetooth audio stuttering /w AAC. This was working fine in 19.1. Switching to SBC or disabling A2DP hardware loadoff in developer options seems to fix it for now.

I can copy that one here!
Never had issues with Bluetooth Audio before. On LOS20, if I play music over my BT headphones, after around 10 secs the music stops and the music player goes on pause.
In the music player notification, my phone is then shown as the sound device; in the Bluetooth settings, I am still connected to my headphones, though.
Rebooting my headphones fixes the issue, but for 10 seconds only again.
If I disable HD Audio (AAC, if I understood correctly) in the Bluetooth settings, the music works fine without any issues.
Not a big deal for me, I am not that into Bluetooth sound and anyways barely notice any difference, but I thought I'd mention it here.

BT Audio was my primary reason to switch to an A13-based ROM. Mainly to allow audio streaming to my hearing aid. But now my regular BT earbuds keep stuttering when using AAC/HD Audio. Yes, SBC works fine for now, but it's strange to me that this wasn't an issue on LOS19.1.
On another note, I suppose BLE Audio is not supported on OP6?

The last question would interest me, too. Didn't find anything on that matter on Google. Why wouldn't it be supported? As I said, Bluetooth audio is not my main field of knowledge.
Did somebody check if ih8sn still works with LOS20?
