PLEASE HELP. How to PERMANENTLY delete stock apps from device? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone.
Sorry if this is an elementary question, but I'm not very experienced yet.
How the bell do I permanently delete a device's stock apps? I have an AT&T HTC One, rooted, and have used ROM Toolbox Pro to delete AT&T's ridiculous apps. And they just appear again.
Any advice? Thanks.

I think this is a 4.4.2 issue. Over here on my Nexus (that I can't wait to get rid of), even with TB uninstalling the apps doesn't do anything. Best option I found was to disable them in the settings.

idk if this will help you but i've noticed that if you update those apps and try to delete it , it'll "delete" but comes back after reboot so don't update any apps you're looking to delete.keep it factory fresh
also since you're rooted try another file explorer that has root..go to the system/app folder and delete and also check data/app folder

delete it using Root Explorer. its in /system/app/. you can probably delete it with Titanium Backup too. Astro doesnt have root permissions.

If Titanium Backup doesn't remove it for you try Super Manager with root access enabled it its settings menu
Latest gmail 2.3.2 apk
Just place onto your sdcard and then install.
Works fine on a Samsung Galaxy S i9000
Yes. it is very simple. And I find this always works:
Install the new version, if it fails, reboot the phone or restart the Java VM. Do the install again. Done.
I have the same problem with the last apk of Gmail and with Launcher Pro Plus.
I have solved both in the same way, deleting the original with SUBFS or another root explorer.
i have the same problem.
then,i take a gmail APP form CM 6.1 to install...
i'll done~
try it!
guess this is still for 2.2 only? i've seen various threads on other forums claiming there's a 2.1 version goin around and im not sure if it's modded or not

[Q] Verizon Motorola Droid 4 Stock ROM

Hi,
I just recently got a Verizon Motorola Droid 4 phone and rooted it.
I then removed some applications I didn't think I needed.
It turns out that I removed one I needed (com.motorola.blur.providers.contacts) and now I have a few applications crashing and contacts don't work anymore.
Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the Stock ROM for my phone I can load to fix this?
Or a way to add that application back? I did back it up with TitaniumBackup before I removed it but it seems I can't restore it with that program.

Thanks, I looked on the home page and searched xda-developers before I posted this but I could not find a Motorola Droid 4 forum.

I was able to find a system dumb and use Root Explorer to add the files ContactsProvider2_0.apk and ContactsProvider2_0.opex back to /system/apps and set the correct permissions.
Now my contacts works and I'm not getting any crashes from system apps now.

Titanium Back Up Pro

Has anyone successfully deleted an app from it that has been backed up and in the uninstall section, I hit delete and hope for the best but it seems like the app that I thought should be deleted is back after reboot so am I missing something or do I have to go into ES File Manager as root and try to look for each app individually and delete them?

I think some apps leave behind some 'residue' of theirs instals even after uninstall.
you can try some of these cleaners which specifically do this job.
am assuming that's what you meant

Haven't used them in the recent past, but SD Maid is one that comes to mind.
another one (not very certain of the name) you can try is Root uninstaller or something like that..

Removing system apps: cannot root

I have recently Restored my N1 from an ICS ROM and am back on Gingerbread 2.3.6.
I am wanting to remove some system apps but I cannot for the life of me find out how to root the N1.
Much googling has lead me to dead ends and dead links and I feel I am missing something really obvious that everyone else but me knows.
The guides I have found on rooting all appear to involve custom ROMs which I don't want at the moment.
The bootloader is still unlocked and I know at some point in the past I did have the device rooted on gingerbread but I can't remember how?
try www.unlockroot.com

Yep, that worked
Thanks.
If I may be so bold... what would be the best app to use to actually remove the system apps?
I have used one in the past but found that when I removed anything it would shut off the nexus completely and not actually remove anything.
use titanium backup. it would be safe to hv a backup via a custom recovery, before removing system apps...

Edit when i click the widget it fc's touchwiz
I had trouble restoring some MI9 system backups to MJ5. When I tried to restore them via TB, the process would just hang or say "The app is from a different ROM version..." or something like that. Maybe the problem you are having is because the apk is from a different build then the one you are running.
a good point was made i need the ones from the MJ5

I would if I could, but I'm back on MI9 (warrantied my first N3 and they shipped me one with MI9).
If your rooted, maybe you can flash an MJ5 Rom (that hasn't been debloated) w/SS and backup the apk from it. Flash back to your stock nandroid and install the backup apk.
im thinking i need the Odex file for both
