This is a G900F firmware, I already have one of those (this download isn't complete yet, so not sure if it's the same one). From your PM's it looked like you had the SM-G900G model? Relooking now, even though you claimed G, your firmware about page says F. Silly, we could've been further than we are now yesterday, if not for that mistake

Ricky's PMs were titled "[S5 SM-900G ROOT]". I realise now that that meant SM-G900. However, there will be SM-G900x models where x is almost every letter available in the alfabet. As such, it looked to be two different models

Does this mean those letter varietys will be incompatible? I'm not sure which one I've actually ordered, but from a leaked chart F and G looks to be for Europe so one of those is probably what I will get ...

Impossible to say. Quite likely models A, B and C will be compatible with eachother, as well D and E, but then A, B and C won't be compatible with D and E. (example names, not real models). As is the case with the other S and Note models.

This is the dump of the S5 G900F variant...is correct?

AEL Kernel update thread

Since the echoe development got discontinued here on XDA I would like to use this thread to inform everyone who's interested. (the download is open to everyone)
I start with the announcement of a brand new AEL release:

Mod Edit: Removed.
What is the changelog?

- updated intelliplug too 4.0
I thought they said they added N910W8 support. I can't find it.

Who said that? Also if you have lollipop and another custom kernel for your model why don't you try the F version. If it bootloops just put the Kernel for your device on... (If it's Exynos than I'm 100 sure it won't work and nobody from echoe said it'll be supported)

F versions wont work. Even after custom Kernel, the modem won't work. Besides at that point I still need Samsung to release the source for the Lollipop W8 Kernel, which in turn means I need to wait for LP to be released, which in turn makes all of this pointless.

I think questions like this are best answered in pm. I really like to keep the thread as an info thread where someone from the team or I are posting the updates of Kernels and maybe ROMs. It's not a Q&A thread and there will be little to none (with last more likely) ROM or Kernel support.

Chainfire will have a cf-auto-root soon for T-Mobile, sprint, and US cellular. Verizon and AT&t will wait longer due to bootloader lock and unsecured ODIN flash blocking

[ROM][ROOT] Tab S 8.4 - SM-T707V(Verizon) Stock Pre-rooted ROM - Tester required.

I built this ROM as a test for those who have locked bootloaders on the Tab S and can't get root.
In my experience Samsung bootloader locked devices will not allow a custom kernel or recovery to be installed. However it is possible that the bootloader will allow a modified rom to be installed.
The rom is bone stock Lollipop 5.0.2 except it is pre-rooted with SuperSU 2.49. It needs to be installed via ODIN. If ODIN allows it to flash then its highly likely it will boot just fine.
If there are any issues that arise then all that is required is to flash the stock firmware, available here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-T707V/
T707VVRS1BOK1_preroot_system.img.tar
If anyone gives this a shot, please report with details.

If it works for the T707v then I'll do the same for the other Bootloader locked devices. It all depends on whether ODIN will flash it or not.
The reason I have used the T707v is because this device at least has the stock firmware available, so it should be relatively safe to try this.
Not many wanting a rooted t707v then.

Seems so, would have done it for the att and other Verizon model if it worked. Wouldn't want to test it out on an att model first with no stock firmware available.

Anyway I could do to pick your brains about something.
Am I right in thinking you have a Tab A?

I don't believe Odin allows modified system images to flash on bootloader-locked devices.
I tried on my Verizon S5, it shouldn't work, but let's see anyways

Exactly why I said let's see anyways
It's just that the S5 and Tab S are so similar in so many ways and were release at the same time on VZW, that I thought they'd have the same locks.

Its the stock OS already rooted.
