screen wakes during call - LG Optimus 4X HD

Sometimes screen wakes during call for a second and it repeating that, but a have the phone close to my ear. (I'm using stock (root) firmware). What do you think it's a problem? (if i test promiximity sensor in hide menu-"promiximity wakelock" for a longer time all is OK)

Try with another rom.

The stock firmware for our phone has some problems with the proximity sensor. Iodak's kernel and p880-sources built ROMs have a fix for it included. Not sure about CM based ones, but I guess they'll work fine too! So yeah, that about anything but stock you could try
Greetings from my Nexus 7 FHD!

If another rom doesn't help, there could be some dust or something else on the sensors way... I had similar problems with HTC Desire HD, which was resolved with some intense sensor cleaning... The rom change is easier to complete though, as the sensor is not in visible place

Problem with sensor is rare, so i think, The same as mcgangsta is easier to change Rom

[Q] Call sensor

Hello everyone,
Recently, everytime I get a phone call, the screen doesn't go off when the phone is next to my ear. In other words, the sensor does not sense that I picked up the phone.
I have tried many ROMs to get this fixed. I flashed the factory GB and that didn't work either.
I'm not sure if this a driver problem or a hardware problem. Can somebody help me fix this??
Thanks.
Proximity sensor problem anyone??..

Hello,
at first I would try to test the hardware. I did find a small app called 'My Android sensors'. Start that and look for a proximity sensor. If you can't find it then there is a problem.
Bug it should be there even if it isn't working. Then open if and look for the sensor state. On a SGS it can only say 'near' or 'far'. Test the sensor by moving the hand to the left side of the speaker grill. There is the sensor. The state should change. If it doesn't then you have a malfunctioning sensor so changing the Rom is of no use.
If it does change you should contact the Rom developer for a start.
Can try reflashing stock or custom Rom whatever you are on. Mostly it can be a sensor driver issue present in the current Rom.

the value (near far) doesn't change. So it's dead?
AW: [Q] Call sensor
Maybe there is software to disable the sensor. Or your Rom has such an option. But I'm not aware of such things. So it looks like your sensor is dead. Sorry!

proximity sensor issue during phone calls

when I talk with my XZ1, and I should activate the proximity sensor with my ear, it often fails
often, the display light keeps ON and I activate with my ear all the possible functions (for example I had to turn off my airplane mode shortcut off to avoid to lose calls in progress pressing it with my ear!)
the only way to save all my calls is.... to remember to lock my screen before answering
do you know how can I fix it?
anybody had the same problem?
I'm having the same issue, really frustrating as I have ended calls several times and also muted, called extra calls etc...
Not happy about this at all
the same for me !
it's really annoying :'(
I just noticed. If I cover the sensor before making the call, the screen turns off when I press call, and comes back when I remove the cover.
I however can not make the screen turn off once I have removed the cover.
I get the same problem, I also had similar experience with my HTC One, I've found out if I lock the screen after dialing number/contact it helps, a bodge job I know but stops me going through the menus with my ear lol!

I've got problem with sensibility of the sensor some times.
I thinks i don't use the good position for the phone.
With xperia T i've used "pimp my rom" to lower the distance for proximity sensor. It was a lot better.
May be it's not the same problem as you cause it was not on every call.
BTW i've an other question about proximity sensor. I need to have it working with other app. i don't have try every option on pimp my rom and now my Z1 is back to root.
where's the "pimp my ROM" function to tweak proximity sensor?

In the app go to :
-> tweaks -> telephony -> proximity sensor delay
Edit :
since .257 proximity sensor don't work...
maybe do you need a rooted device?

Yes, pimp my rom need rooted device but i've read after upgrading.
So i loose root...
I don't have time to test root on .257 now
I've just tested "proximity screen off" (by playstore) on my. rooted. 257. It perfectly works No more problems during the calls

Had this problem. Just hold your phone properly wherein you touch the proximity sensor.

I had a bit different issue. When I dial a call, immediately the screen goes blank (proximity sensor is activated), but the call goes through well.
I powered off the phone and turned ON again, the issue did not occur. I have the latest software update
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Xperia Z1 (C6902) India
SW version: C6902 14.1.G.2.257 Generic IN
dial *#*#7378423#*#* there is a calibration of sensor but for me when trying timeout error
you need to factory reset
a good solution without root is... to use the right ear talking on the phone. The problem seems to be sensor's position

HOW to fix proximity sensor delay during call in .205 firmware????

where is the fix for this trouble???
in .201 FW sensor work normal. in 4.1 work normal.
ON .205 and 207.
Proximity sensor reacts slow to turn on screen when phone is moved from ear
1 sec 2 sec .
it just infuriates and annoying, I can not stop talking immediately after the removal of the phone from his ear.
I think you can change the delay in build.prop.
"#mot.proximity.delay=25
#ro.lge.proximity.delay=25" or something like that

Mine is worst, sometimes it takes even 30 sec. or more to wake up [emoji33]
I though it was just mine, cause i don't see many people complaining about this..
Cheers.
The bad news is that none of the firmwares .205 jr .207 does not fix the problem
Many people suffer from this problem, in my opinion it is related to the base software.
I have tried most of the custom and stock Roms for LBL device and the all have this problem.
If you Google this problem it is well known but Sony have no solution other than go to a Service Centre for them to replace the proximity sensor which does not work either.
I just found an xposed module that can disable proximity sensor.. I'm using it now.. I have to manually turn off the screen during call but at least i can use the Phone!
Thank you.
Cheers.

[Q] Galaxy S problems:(

Hello guys ...sorry if a similar question was already asked.
I have a problem with my phone. When i want to make a phone call the screen goes off. At first I thought that the phone switched itself off, but later I noticed that the credit was gone...:/ I happens even after the factory reset. It also happens with another dialer from google play...however, people can still call me and there is no problem...no problems with sms either.
I have 2.3.6 Gingerbread
Please help
I think that's normal. There's a sensor which causes this.

so its not software problem? is it worth to replace it? how much may it cost?
i also checked another thing...its not only the screen there's no signal and a phone call is not made...:/
Every phone has this sensor. The intention is that you don't touch any button on your screen during the phone call.
You can try to reflash the stock rom.

I run the proximity sensor test using *#*#0588#*#* and looks like it's broken...the screen is blue and displays "proximity x 1" covering the sensor has no effect, looks like the sensor is activated all the time...
I noticed some dust, maybe moisture in there so i think it will be a good idea to take the phone apart and clean the sensor...

I feel like a crazy person answering my own posts...
I took it apart, cleaned it, but the problem's still there. I bought a new assembly jack-speaker-proximity sensor on ebay for 7 euro...hope it will work after replacing this part...
The way it's all together explains why there was no dial signal.
When I replace the part i will let You know Thanks for Your help

Sony Xperia Z1 problem with the Battery, Touchscreen and Overheating

Hello guys, how're you doing?
My Sony Xperia z1 started making me mad due to several problems.
PS: I'm running android 5.1.
1- Erratic touchscreen:
the touchscreen sometimes starts moving things (open app or notification bar etc...) without touching it
2- Battery
sometimes the battery drop by 10% or 15% randomly
3- Overheating:
my phone became hot after 2 minutes or using the camera!
so, I'm wondering if someone could help me fix one of those problems
sorry for my bad english
Thank in advance
ok, the camera overheating is normal if you're using it for long time, the battery may be for time of use this phone is 4 years old and battery begin to fail try some app to calibrate it if doesn't work replace it and screen touch have you change the screen? if change try to put a black wallpaper and test if the problem persist when you go to home( in developer options check the "show inputs" option and check), and try a stock rom to verify if problems remains.

thank you for the reply bro!
1- The battery is JUST 2 years old!
2- My friend's Z1 start overheating after 10 minutes of using the camera, which is soo good. My phone is overheating after 2 minutes!
3 I'm using an original Rom, I'm not familiar with CFW on Sony! I tried the developpers option and found some problems in the corners of the screen and the phone ramdomly rebooted while I was testing it.
try to flash and do a full wipe then test it again if keeps the same it's probably a hardware problem, the touch can be minimize with screen protector but the battery an camera it's hard to manage.
sorry for my bad English it's not my native language

Allright bro, I'll give it a try. Actually, am not using a screen protector because I'm looking to fix this problem before buying a new screen protector.
I'm having the same problem with my touchscreen, I can't use the phone for more than 5 minutes without having the need to turn it off and on again to go back to normal. This is making me very mad that I'm considering to change my phone to any deep **** cheap phone that has a good screen that I can use normally..
I don't know if it's a software related or hardware, I flashed stock frimware many times and nothing changed, I recently had an urge idea to remove the stock screen protector (that has sony logo) hoping that the problem will get solved, but I guess it won't..
If anyone has an idea to solve this I and OP would be very grateful..
the screen touch is a hardware problem try to lower screen brightness and put a dark screensaver, it's somehow related with the contrast of the screen but not sure how to solve it completely the previously and a screen protector only make it usable but don't solve completely the issue.
sorry but that's all I know
